Sterek
By twenty-eight, Stiles has resigned himself to a quiet life of working in his magic shop, selling Jackson Whittemore fart-inducing tea, and looking after his goddaughter. It's a good life. But the quiet goes to hell when his sister, Lydia, shows up with a crispy werewolf in her trunk and a bite mark on her shoulder, because hard on her heels comes the hottest person Stiles has ever seen, and he happens to be looking for his uncle.

You know, the dead guy Stiles helped Lydia bury last night.

(Or: the Practical Magic AU nobody asked for.)

I like the movie Practical Magic, and I obviously love Sterek, so a fic blending the two? Sure! Why not?

“When I fall in love, it’ll be with someone strong. So strong they can lift a car. They’ll be so beautiful everyone will want them, but so hurt underneath they’ll never believe it. They’ll have green eyes. No, brown. Yellow. Blue. Red. And their favorite TV show will be Captain Planet

Be careful what you spell for Stiles in trying to not fall in love….

This was a fun witch/werewolf pairing with all kinds of fun. After all, everything's better with an exorcism! Sexy times are muy caliente. And yes, there's knotting.

One final note: Seriously? The title is from Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus. Has anyone REALLY read Titus Andronicus? I like the moxy.

Magical Stiles made me laugh so much. Great Stiles narration. Derek was a tiny bit not-too-Derek-ish, but I really enjoyed their connection nonetheless. Sexy smexin' and super fun magical world set in the future (when Stiles is a bit older, mid-to-late 20s). Enjoyed muchly. :D

Practical Magic x Sterek = one very enjoyable story that I loved! The magic was awesome, the sexytimes were hot and I liked how the author worked the TeenWolf characters into this story in a fresh new way. Recommended.

I cannot give this 3 stars, though there are plenty of things I did like.

So what didn't I like? As Deaton said so himself in the story, "this was anticlimactic". There was hardly anything remotely angsty or perilous to make my heart rate spike, make me cling to the edge of my seat. There was the exorcism towards the end but even that went smoothly. For all that Stiles claims to be witch, there is hardly any magic done (unless magic lightning releases after sex count). That was such a lame ass curse to inflict on himself. Better just curse yourself to never fall in love. Don't start throwing together seemingly random characteristics (when all readers know they fit Derek). And equally lame cure for the original curse (which made no sense until halfway into the story. I originally thought what Stiles referred to as the curse was just heartbreak, pain and grief. You know, the regular ones). 2 curses cancel each other out? If we are using flimsy solutions, the standard "love conquers all" would have worked too. There is hardly any tension or worry in the relationship Stiles and Derek embark upon. There is Stiles dreading the ending and lamenting his inability to fall in love which just sounds whiny to me. Then, there is the convoluted diagram connecting Lydia, Jackson, Allison and Isaac. In a longer story and with room to expand, it would have made for interesting read. Now it was merely confusing and distracting.

Huh. Seems there were quite a few things bothering me about the story. Now I don't feel bad about the 2 stars.

Just..... no..there is obviously more to tell in this story. I said so, so it must be true, so why isn't there MORE.....

So when reaching the end of the line, I would have to say it should be no surprise that I am disappointed that I don't have MORE to READ.....

So, this is different. First, Not in Beacon Hills, Lydia is Stiles sister, the rest of the 'cast' is by far the furthest away from the rest of Sterek books I've been reading. Oh, and Derek, not such a sourwolf and Stiles, as an adult, is just meeting him. It was good. Just didn't want to see the last page *sniffle sniffle*

I wasn't entirely sure about this mash-up, but they paired surprisingly well. I mean, I red headed sister who gets possessed. Sound familiar? Scott, Kira, Allison, Jackson, and even Isaac worked into the story perfectly, both with the MC's as well as their relationships with each other. I loved all the little nods to Practical Magic (an all-time favorite as much as I usually stay away from the chick flicks), as well as to Teen Wolf. Great job!

I wanna see the sex trophy from the sandbox.

Fun fic. I liked Stiles and the different takes on relationships in the side characters. Idk about Derek...He was good for the story, but didn't quite feel like Derek. It worked for the story though.

I had completely forgotten about the movie. I liked that movie too. I might have to re-watch it.

3.5 to 4 stars. Hard to say for sure.
This was a weird premiss. Teen Wolf characters, but unusual combinations and history. The same personalities though. Interesting concept and it WS well done. Just a little weird for me.

I had to laugh out loud at the flatulence teas. I'm not a huge fan of Derek being as meek as he comes across in this one, but I greatly enjoyed this one anyway.
