Laren Jenson has had a rocky road filled with explosive relationships and family issues, but this doesn't deter her from building her career and supporting those she loves.
Her take-no-prisoners-personality paired with a feisty and strong-minded personality have her climbing the corporate latter of success, and fast. But her personal life has taken a back seat lately, especially with the heavy baggage she's pulling along. With one last hooray before she marries herself to her career, Laren steps out of her comfort zone seeking a Dom–one that can handle all that she is and push her limits–to satisfy her for one night. What she gets is nothing of what she expected. She meets her mystery man–Michael– and is immediately smitten, but her plans don't work out the way she hoped and the opportunity is gone.
Michael Kavanaugh is known for his patient, but domineering trait when it comes to women. He works hard and plays harder. With a rolodex of willing women waiting to be chosen, Michael has carefully and successfully side-stepped any real commitment. The moment he meets Laren all bets are off; he can't help the pull that she has on him, and for the first time he's met a challenge that will change his way of thinking and way of life. The game is on when she steps into his office and reminds him of their mystery meeting not long ago.
Together, Laren and Michael battle it out for who will lead and provide versus who will submit, listen, and learn. Laren is used to making her own decisions, taking care of everyone around her, and sacrificing her own needs for others. While Michael is used to leading and caring for women he is dating. For every step that is taken forward, it seems as though they fall back five more. Their main struggle, trust. But Michael isn't giving up that easily.
"Michael Kavanaugh's life motto? Some men were made to tame only one woman...
The Best Thing: The overall storyline was good. I really enjoyed how there were goofy and fun moments throughout the book that weren't over-shadowed by some of the creepy characters and events that happen later.
The Worst Thing: First I should say that I didn't realize, until I was already reading, that this was a serial series that should probably have been read in order. With that said, I had a few gripes.
In the preface there was this steamy interlude between Michael and Laren. This led me to believe that there would be more of the training for the (BDSM lifestyle) since this is what Laren stated she wanted. I didn't get that throughout the book. Laren totally walked all over Michael, and at times he came off somewhat weak because of his feelings. She needs a good spanking.
I really hated how Laren literally, blindly, enabled her brother-in-law and sister by covering their debt for them all the time. I couldn't understand why her sister didn't work at least one job and have some type of income. (This really got under my skin the entire time, even when all the chips fell down.)
Towards the closing of the book I noticed what some could call 'slang or abbreviated names' throughout, who's who? things started to get sloppy for me. More story lines were included, new nicknames were introduced, the climax didn't really feel like a climax due to all of the other events that were squeezed in at the last minute, and I couldn't figure out who's overall story it was suppose to be anymore–Michael and Laren, Jo and Ted, Lacy and David...wth.
I will totally kick myself for not reading–which I normally, and always do–the books in order.
Overall: For the most part I did like the book and the characters!
I love the way Riley Murphy wtites, fun, erotic, great scenes. Michael and Laren are amazing, I loved it from the beginning, they have a great connection loved Laren’s family history and don’t forget about the mystery part, she made laugh and I enjoyed seeing some of the character of this series , I think that I´ll be very happy to surrender to Michael
Reputable Surrender is the final book in the Trust in Me series by Riley Murphy. Each book can be read as a stand alone novel, so you don’t have to read the previous books to enjoy this one.
I have read the previous four stories in the series, and as soon as I found out that Michael was getting his own story, I was both excited and nervous. I wasn’t sure that he was a guy that I would like. He first appeared in the first book in the series, Reclaimed Surrender, and let’s just say that he was NOT the good guy in that story.
Michael and Laren make this amazing couple, in what I think is the best book in this series. Michael has a reputation as a Dom that follows all the rules. Laren is a career woman that has given up on ever finding a Dom to meet her needs. When they meet through a mutual friend, sparks fly. Michael is interested, but he has been warned off by his friend and business partner. He tried REALLY hard to stay away, but fate keeps putting these two together.
There are so many things that I love about this book. I love that we have dual Points of view. I love to know what both characters are thinking. I do not think that I would like Michael if I didn’t know his thoughts and motivations behind his actions, both past and present. I love that these two knew each other for a while before they jumped right into a relationship. While I don’t HATE insta-love, it is not my favorite thing. I can’t even describe how much I love the banter between the groups of friends that are intertwined through these books. If you read this book first, I promise you will love the other characters enough to pick up the previous books and give them a try too. I was laughing every time the ‘guys’ or ‘girls’ got together.
Also, this is a great example of a BDSM novel that isn’t over the top. BDSM doesn’t always have to be about floggers and whips and public exhibition. This author has a way of writing that shows the real spirit of a BDSM relationship, with love and affection between the couple.
The romance is great, but there is an underlying story that kept me guessing the entire time. I have to say, I didn’t see half of the stuff coming that kept me reading this book non-stop until I had finished.
The wrap up for the series is awesome too, and although I’m sorry to it end, I was happy with the way everything was resolved.
If you want a fast paced, sexy BDSM romance, I highly recommend Reputable Surrender. I give it five stars!
Laren is a tough independent business woman who would love nothing more than to find a Dom to surrender to in her sexual life. She's had some bad experiences in the past, and has decided to just focus her life on her career and helping take care of her sister's family. Michael is known as the Reputable Dom in certain circles, and has had his eye on Laren for a while. Now that she is available he makes it clear to her that he would like to offer her what she wants and needs. Laren struggles with her feelings for Michael, not fully understanding what a healthy D/s relationship can be, and believing that Michael is too good for her. As her sister's family has crisis after crisis and Lauren feels responsible to help them, things start to fall apart.
This is the final book in this series, and the first one I've read. I will definitely be going back and reading the others in the series now. Laren has gone from an abusive relationship, which she believed she was slightly responsible for as she was seeking some pain, but not what was being dished out by her abusive boyfriend. She went from that relationship into one where she was treated very well, but had no real connection with that person. She decides to just "marry" her career, but that becomes challenging when she and Michael are unable to fight their intense attraction to one another. Michael knows that he can be exactly the man that Laren needs and takes it upon himself to prove it to her. Even with their relationship starting to fall into place, they have a lot of challenges thrown at them from people in their past that put additional strain on everything. I loved the way Michael and Laren were when they were just able to be together without letting the outside world affect them. I also enjoyed seeing their support systems rally around them when things got tough. I look forward to reading the earlier books in this series and getting to know the other couples better. 3.5 stars.

4 stars from me! I am not usually one to read these types of books but every once and a while, one will catch my attention. This one took me completely by surprise and I am so glad I was able to enjoy it! I can’t wait to jump into the rest of Riley Murphy’s books!
After two horrible relationships, Laren decides to have one last night of submission before she completely focuses on her career. I LOVE Laren, as she is like no other submissive. She is smart, outgoing, funny, and so passionate about everything. She is always standing up for herself and very independent. But I also love that she breaks at the perfect timing and is everything she is meant to be.
Michael, oh Michael. The Reputable Dom! Let me meet him one night, just one night! He knows exactly what makes Laren tick, even if she doesn’t. The Ferris Wheel is probably my favorite part of the whole book. He truly tries to earns Laren’s trust! I often caught myself laughing at the banter between the two. Riley has a perfect match with Laren and Michael!
What I love about this book is Riley didn’t use sex as a filler. She had an amazing story that kept me wanting more. In books like these I often find myself skipping so much of the book because page after page is the same thing. Not once did I skim a page in this book. Every part had a reason and a meaning. I am so excited to crack open the rest of Riley’s books, I don’t plan on coming up for air!!
This story was given to me in exchange for an honest review.
I have read this author before and as always she delivers a great read. Laren Jenson’s is trying to get her dream job, she needs it for her own self worth and to be able to help out her sister and her family as they continue to get themselves into financial criseses. This leaves no room room for any love life for Laren and she is happy with this until she meets Michael Kavanaugh. He is used to getting what he wants and he wants Laren.
He is knows as “The Reputable Dom” as he is usually kind and respectful, but not now, he is willing to do whatever it takes to get Laren to belong to him. The author did a great job with this story as Michael strives to convince Laren it is okay to lean on him, it is okay to love him, he will love her back and take care of her.
The sex scenes in the book were hot and well done. The characters were well fleshed out and easy to read and love. I enjoyed reading about struggle that Laren had when deciding what had meaning in her life.
The secondary characters played a large part in this story including her ex-husband, and her sister’s family. I enjoyed learning about all of these characters. I would rate this story a 4/5.
Lauren has had such bad luck with relationships. An ex-boyfriend that abused her trust and her body and an ex-husband who was so passive aggressive as to make her feel guilty when she left him. Her only goal in life now was her career and her need for money to help her sister and nephew stay afloat because her brother-in-law was a walking disaster. Michael was a DOM in need of a submissive and he has found her in Lauren. Now he has to talk her into it.
I truly enjoyed this book. It was predicatable overall but there were some surprises that were well worth reading. The author did a fabulous job in laying this book out and following through on the plot.
There was also a wonderful ebb and flow in the overall book. I could not put it down until I had finished it.
Michael and Laren were two people who had thought they had everything in life figured out. Well, their lives, that is! Laren does have some issues and who doesn't. I did not know this was a series and would have loved to have started from the beginning! These characters I enjoyed and did not take long for me to get into the story AT ALL! I was hooked from the first chapter! I have never read from this author and enjoyed it so much that I am going to go back and read from the beginning. The story line was good and so were the characters. I was kept on my feet for the whole read. There is a bit of mystery and I liked that aspect. On to the next!
I received this ARC from the publisher via Ney Galley for my honest review. Thank you, Net Galley!
The last book in the series, but by far the one that will make you feel complete!
With dual POV's it helps you understand what Michael's motivations are from the past and present. Laren and Michael's relationship is amazing as it grows in this story into the love that will have you weeping! Needing a Dom Laren gives up the search until she meets with Michael and so begins the story of how they develop in this amazing couple. Giving us a different take on the BDSM world Riley takes us through unexpected twist and turns, which really make this book that much more exciting to read. Hot and steamy but with so much love this book is my favorite in the series!!
This is the first book I've read by this author and it certainly won't be the last. Although these books can be read as a standalone I'll definitely be going back and reading them in order as this book was so good.
This book is about Michael and Laren. They meet at a bdsm club and then eight months later they meet again. I loved these two as a couple. I was really hooked with this story. The author threw in enough twists and turns to keep me gripped. I loved that the bdsm aspect was done tastefully.
Really loved this story and I'm looking forward to going back and reading the others.
absolutely LOVED this one!! I am a huge fan of Riley Murphy books but this one flipped all the switches... a definite must read for Riley fans.. We met Michael in a previous book - and we all had to not like him.. but now.. oh boy.. now we get to love him.. Laren is prefect for him and together - their story is a "sit down and don't pull your face out of it til your done" read....
Feisty Laren goes to a BDSM club to met her match. It's a masked ball at this club when an overly agressive Dom stress to get to handsy. Enter Michael Kavanaugh who knows about Laren but is off limits to her for the time being. He saves her from the agressive Dom. He is very intrigued by her feisty and bratty ways. He wants to own her but must wait. They have a very brief interlude at the club. 8 months later, who enters his boardroom but the lovely Laren. She is smart, witty take no prisoners type real estate agent. After getting his company a good deal, Michael really wants to step up his game. Laren is dead set on being married to her career and taking care of her sister's finanical situation. (You will love Jude her nephew, he is a character).
Laren has a crazy passed. She was in a BDSM relationship (or so she thought) but it turned out abusive. Then she married a very vanilla man that cherised her but she was still not happy. She wanted the lifestyle.
Michael will do anything to help Laren out, but she is so wishy washy. Afraid of committing herself to anyone because of a pending partnership. He is not worried about that at all. He hasn't told her that he was the Dom she met at the masked ball. Laren likes to top from the bottom and Michael needs to redirect that for her full submission.
A lot of unexpected situations happened in the book but got resolved, again, how it was written , I got a little confused with the subplots. Overall, I did enjoy the banter between Laren and Michael.
I enjoyed the book, but there was a lot of different twists that had me confused at some points. I wanted the author to stayed with the main characters and have just one plot twist.
The D/s relationship was good to read especially since when Laren fully submitted it was great to read, but when she got very aroused it felt as if she couldn't help her urges. Michael had to upper hand (at times), but I felt he gave in to her rather quickly. Although when he was on full on Dom mode, it was nice to see.

Reputable Surrender, Trust In Me, Riley Murphy Review from jeannie zelos book reviews So, when I looked at this is I saw it was clearly part of a series, but as the other books all seemed to be about different couples I thought it would be one of those where books are connected but complete, stand alone ones. I love that sort and thought I'd be ok jumping in at book five. My mistake, I wasn't...there were constant references to people and events I knew nothing about, and even the business Michael was involved in was a mystery to me at first. I kept wondering why if Laren was a nanny she was making such big decisions for a business, and if she could do that why had she been working as a nanny. If I'd read the earlier books I'd have known the answers to these questions, but as it was I floundered to follow the story, not understanding so many comments and conversations. I think that why I felt disconnected to Laren and Michael – they were potentially great characters, but so much of their pasts, both shared and separate was lost to me . I just couldn't relate to them. It's a decent story, but didn't work for me. I think as well as the way I was confused, I had problems with the way the story evolved, it seemed to jump around a lot, and quickly go from one subject to another, sometimes rather abruptly. I've jumped in to existing series before, and this is the first time I've had this problem. I guess Riley's writing style and I don't really gel – it illustrates what I'm always saying, that not all books will appeal to all readers, they can be excellent books, well written, well plotted and yet not suit as reading and choice is very subjective to individual taste. Stars: well, I'm sure those following the series will love it but for me its a three, a good book but not great. ARC supplied via Netgalley
Although this is book 5 in the Trust In Me series it can be read as a stand alone. "Being a Dom may be a matter of birth, but being a good one is a matter of choice." Michael is known as the "reputable Dom" and when he sets his eyes on the white masked beauty, he decides that he is going to own her. What he doesn't count on is discovering that he knows her and he's been warned that she is to be left alone. Laren is a bratty sub. With her mind set on one last fling before she moves on, striving to attain her goals, she's hoping that the darkly masked man might be the one to sate her darker needs. When he leaves her hanging, he becomes the man in her fantasies, the one that got away even if she doesn't know the first thing about him. When Michael is faced with the very woman that he wants in his own boardroom, he sets a plan in motion to get her attention and own her entirely. What he doesn't count on is Laren's stubbornness and the secrets she hordes surrounding her past, present and future. What follows is the tale of an alpha man trying to show the bratty sub that she doesn't have to do everything on her own and that being part of a team and depending on someone she can trust, doesn't mean she isn't strong. I haven't read the first 4 books in the series and don't know what they're about (although I suspect that they may surround the friends featured in this book - they certainly all have a story I'd like to read) but if they're anything like this, I'd love to read them! I marked this review down slightly as I came across far too many grammatical errors and more than a few missed words. However, that did not detract from the overall story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Laren goes to a BDSM club mixer to meet her match. It is a masked ball this particular night and Laren is overcome by an overly aggressive Dom until Michael Kavanaugh steps in. Michael is intrigued by this little dragon and rescues her but once they are alone and he figures out it is Laren, he must walk away for she if off limits. Eight months later, Laren enters his boardroom.
Laren has a crazy past. She thinks she was in a BDSM relationship, but as it turns out, it was an abusive one. She was married, but turns out, the guy was too vanilla and suffocating. She wants the BDSM lifestyle but hasn't found the right match. Oh, plus she has to bail out her sister who's husband is a douche.
Micheal will do anything to help Laren out, but she won't open up to him and she is so wishy washy. She is too busy trying to make everyone else happy. Laren also likes to top from the bottom, but Micheal learns quick to redirect her and get her to her full submission.
There are a lot of unexpected situations that get resolved, but I got confused in the subplots. Maybe if I had read the previous books, which I will shortly, I may have understood these subplots better. There were many twists and some even had me confused. This can be read as a stand alone, but there are constant references to people and events from previous books, which left me missing pieces. I would have liked more of a background on these characters.

I love every one of the books in this series (and you should read them all before you read this one just so you know who is who and what is what, and because they are *that good).. but this one.. Michael and Laren... beyond amazing.. You're hooked from the first chapter... you love them both as separate characters.. but together.. they have that "something special" the something that makes you WANT to read more and yet go slowly so it's not over too soon... the something that makes you laugh, smile, cry a little and cheer a lot.. you're hooked not just on them but on the whole story.. the mystery bad guy (and just when you KNOW you know who it is... well, you're wrong), to the rest of the crew and how their lives are going, and Laren's family - their story too. This book has it all and will keep you smiling well after you are finished. Excellent job, Riley!
This story felt to be a 2person POV which in a way was really great we got to see the DOM side of things and the SUB side of things not only that but the characters each had there own feelings on things and how they were handled was another great thing the characters had for them; besides all the hott sex and love that they shown each other. This is story # 5 but was deff a stand along novel as I felt like I really didn't miss much of anything at all.

I really could not get into Michael. Laren was likeable, but I don't find them endearing characters. Therefore, I only found the book okay. The book has many grammatical errors which detracts the reader, too. The authors need to read their books with a ruler and make corrections before publishing. This book brings in characters from the previous books and devotes an ending to each pair. They were more interesting than Michael and Laren!
Overall I enjoyed the book. Michael came across as a selfish prick. It was all about what he wanted. From having Laren tell him that she would do anything for him to him waking her up in the middle of the night to suck him off because he can. I really wanted to like him but it just did not happen. I also found it annoying that Laren was financially supporting her sister and family. I would have told sis to get off her butt and get a job.
Reputable Surrender by Riley Murphy was a great book. Lauren is a woman who decides to marry her career when she can't find a Dom for her. She needs her career to pay off her sister's debts and make sure her sister and nephew don't lose the roof over their head. She meets Michael right before landing the job that could land safety and security for her family. I loved reading Michael and Laren's story. I can't wait to read more by Riley Murphy.
Michael and Laren were great characters. These two just click from chapter one and they take you for a steamy ride. No emotion is left out of their story. I have not had the opportunity to read the other books in this series. Now, I need to go back and get them. I am glad this was given to me.

I couldn't get pass the 20% mark. The dialogue seemed off and was just not enjoyable. Michael kind of creepy me out with his obsession and what can basically be called stalking of Laren. Maybe if I'd read the first two books in the series I would have found this one more interesting.
Laren has not had very good luck with relationships and her life isn't all rainbows and sunshine. Michael is the man she needs but is reluctant. I liked the dual POV's it helps bring more to teh book and keep you invested as the story moves. I think it gives it more to keep you attention.
I did struggle a bit because the book felt predictable but overall i liked it.
Love the blurb and premise, but somehow it just fell flat. The heroine had too many hangups and felt like a wictim to me. Loved the writing, definitly try another book by this author, but this one didn´t work for me. Sorry.
