My Review:
I really, really enjoyed this one. The suspense story line is way above average from what I expect when going into a romantic suspense novel. I never knew who/how/why throughout the entire book and when it was revealed, it was a brilliant plot! Seriously, kudos to these two authors for that aspect of the story. There's a lot to the story politically and within all the different federal and state agencies that impact the story. It would have taken TONS of research to get it all right and it read like there was no doubt that these girls had their facts right.

It was suspenseful. It was intriguing. And it was HIGHLY entertaining to read. And that was before we get to the romance story line which was almost as incredible as the suspense story was.

Mitch and Caroline have a past. They worked together on a case which cost Mitch his job and freedom in the end. They hooked up together for a single night and through miscommunication never knew what that night meant to the other. Some serious unrequited vibes between these two because they are both haunted by that night. But now Mitch is a fugitive on the run and Caroline is an FBI agent. They are pretty much at crossed intentions and the possibility that things will work out for them long-term are pretty much nil.

I like that the two have a history. Mitch only comes to her because he knows she can get justice for his friend who was murdered on the job. He misses her desperately, but knows that his presence will affect her job and doesn't want to do that. He's so protective of her even though she's a tough FBI agent and sniper. I loved that about him, but he also respects her enough to realize that she needs control. These are two opposite personalities, but it was fun to see how they work off each other to make that work in this investigation.

The addition of Brice to the mix was just perfect. I loved his little quips and his backstory too. Every justice group out there like Grey (the head of the Justice Team and hero from book #1) is trying to form in these books needs to have a conspiracy theorist blogger to whistle blow on the government. His connections were almost as impressive as his snarky quips.

Everything about this story worked for me and I definitely look forward to more from this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

They were friends once, former FBI agent Mitch Monroe and Special agent Caroline Foster. That was until one night it became something more and Caroline realized she was just a temporary satisfaction and Mitch was truly the jerk he was rumored to be. A year later Mitch is a wanted man and he needs help, he reaches out to Caroline who is not interested in ever interacting with him again. Curiosity is not Caroline's friend though and as she begins to look into the mystery surrounding Mitch, she finds herself embroiled in a cat and mouse game with Mitch.

Exciting story about a cover-up ready to be unraveled if the people investigating can uncover it in time. There is a definite chemistry between Caroline and Mitch, even as Caroline is ready to throttle Mitch there is still a sizzle in the air when these two come together. Look forward to more in this series.

Cheating Justice by Adrienne Giordano and Misty Evans

The second in the Justice series is a political thriller romance. Mitch is on the run, fingered for his best friends murder. With the help of his Justice team friends and sexy Caroline Foster, they unravel the threads of the mystery on gun running, murder, and espionage.

Mitch and Caroline have a romantic history and this story forces them together in tight quarters and situations.

I "read" this via Audible and it was narrated by Michael Rahhal. It was my first experience by a male narrator. I took me a little while to get used to the characters swearing. Hearing it out loud rather than reading it. And frankly, I laughed whenever he vocalized the surroundings. But it was still an enjoyable action read.

I won a copy of the audio book from the authors Facebook contest.

4.7 Star Review - Cheating Justice

Mitch has been hiding out for a year as he is wanted by the FBI.

After one of his friends is murdered and framed (or so he believes) he meets with another friend late one night to discuss what could have happened. When that friend then shows up murdered also Mitch is sure someone is trying to cover something up. When later Mitch is listed as the prime suspect in the second murder he knows someone is out to get him.

Mitch contacts his old friend Special Agent Caroline Foster to help him solve the murders of his two close friends.

The agency is saying the first guy that was gunned down was dirty. Mitch knew him well and knows that is not the case.

In order to help Mitch solve the murders she will be risking her career. Is solving this case worth the risk?

Is it fair of Mitch to expect Caroline to risk her career? Can Caroline help Mitch solve the murders? Even if they solve the murders will that clear Mitch as he was wanted by the FBI to begin with? Or are they both in over there head? Is Mitch even worth the trouble?

Lots of twists and turns in this story. You never know really who to trust. Keeps you turning the pages until the very end!!

Mitch and Caroline have great chemistry and are both very strong characters. At times I was pretty sure Caroline would have hit Mitch if she could have!!

Can't wait for the next book in this series.

In Cheating Justice (Justice Team #2) by Misty Evans and Adrienne Giordano, former FBI agent Mitch is now a fugitive trying to clear his name after being framed for a murder he didn't commit. When two of Mitch's long time friends and fellow agents are killed, Mitch knows something big is going on and he is determined to find out what. Now he has not only his name to clear, but murder's to solve and a conspiracy surrounding his friends death to uncover.

Caroline is an FBI agent, and a sniper for the SWAT team. She is also a former friend and colleague of Mitch's. After a hot one night stand with him that she's determined to pretend never happened, everything started to go wrong and Mitch disappeared. Caroline still dreams of him, and remembers his touch. When he takes the risk to approach her for help, Caroline is very cautious. But Caroline wants to do what's right...even if it means risking her career. Suddenly on the run with Mitch, they race against time to uncover a huge governmental conspiracy, seeking to redeem not only Mitch, but his friends. Can they do it though? With danger surrounding them and time against them, the chemistry they felt in the past is still sizzling. Mitch will be happy when it is all over and he has Caroline. He wants her back, as much as he wants redemption. Can he have it all though? Or is it too late?

Cheating Justice is a fast paced, suspenseful romance. Misty and Adrienne kept me on edge, never knowing what would happen next, and who to trust. Caroline and Mitch are both strong characters in Cheating Justice. I really like how they had a strong past connection that was never truly severed, and I liked how they come back to each other with more than one purpose even as Caroline resists. They are different, yet their goals are the same and their sense of justice strong. Not to mention the powerful chemistry between them that heats up the pages! Their interactions are realistic and at times quite entertaining.

Misty and Adrienne give us a host of secondary characters in Cheating Justice who all play important roles in pulling the story together. Brice, a conspiracy theorist blogger, is a strong secondary character who will spend a lot of time with Caroline and Mitch. I really liked his character and the way he takes part in Cheating Justice with Caroline and Mitch.

Misty and Adrienne have obviously done a lot of research to write Cheating Justice, and their writing, plot, and explanations have an incredible sense of reality to them. The pace of Cheating Justice flows smooth and is easy to get pulled in to. With serious suspense, a great chemistry and connection between the main characters, and some humor interspersed throughout, I would recommend Cheating Justice to any romantic suspense reader.

I was a happy camper to say the least when I got to read the next one in this series. I met the two characters in the previous one but in this one they continue on with a hum dinger of a case. Mitch is on the run trying to clear the name of a good friend and former undercover agent. Even though he is framed he is more concerned with getting to cover up that has been used as a scapegoat. He then turns to Caroline a FBI special agent for help. She has already helped him once that jeopardized her career once before but this time as she goes a digging she realizes he is on to something and their friend was not a the bad guy but others higher up could actually be. The action here is intense and fast which makes for good reading because there is no chance of boredom or wondering off. Having been together before in more ways than one this also makes for a challenge to them both because the intensity of feelings are still there but now flare up even hotter. Trust is to be a big factor also she knows Mitch is not a killer regardless what might be out there about him. So with the help of other key players in this novel these two take you on a wild ride to finding justice for all involved with the end result hopefully being they can too have a chance of a real every day relationship without the drama. There is one character in here that is introduced that is comedy at times that writes a blog that uncovers cover ups- Brice becomes a partner with these two that makes them quite the trio. Even though also Mitch has been giving his services to the justice team being he is on the run they too aid these three with whatever is needed. Sometimes the action gets so intense you might find a trickle of sweat now and again. Oh and for a switch the guy here is trying to be the good one when it comes to the relationship side by being so considerate of their situation he does not want to carry things to far leaving her hurt by the wayside if everything goes south. That was a switch to me because usually the guy is the one raring to go with the girl holding back. She sees a good guy though that she has intense feelings for not wanting to waste another minute. You will never look at a body of water the same after reading some of the scenes in this book. All in all very good drama based romance that comes with some very satisfying results with at the end the Justice Team might pick up a few more to their team. Received a arc for a honest review.

Wow is the first word that comes to mind. Cheating Justice begins with Mitch Monroe meeting with one of the few people in the world whom he knows he can trust. But when that person ends up dead and Mitch’s face is plastered all over the news as wanted for his murder, he knows he has to step up his game and figure out what is going on and why they are involving him. He makes the hard decision to go to the one person who can help him. Or, break his heart…………….

Caroline has her path plotted. Top sniper? Check. S.W.A.T.? Working on it. Dots her I’s and crosses her T’s? Absolutely. So, why then, when Mitch Monroe shows up does she feel the need to help him? Yes, she knows he’s an innocent man. But, when he tries to enlist her help to not clear himself, but to clear one of his best friends who has been murdered, she has one answer for him. No. Yeah right…………

Cheating Justice pulls you in from the beginning. Mitch Monroe is an awesome person who you find yourself cheering for from the first time you meet him. His angst over his friends’ demise lets you get a glimpse of the real Mitch. Well, part of him. The other part….the sarcastic, smart, sexy part is the first thing you notice, but once the story progresses, you see more layers developing right before your eyes. Caroline made me laugh out loud, literally. She’s always threatening to shoot folks who tic her off. Yes, she’s buttoned up and a very astute agent, but as with Mitch, you see her layers developing as well. It doesn’t take her long to figure out that maybe the straight and narrow might not be all it’s cracked up to be. And, the chemistry between the two? Smoking hot!!!

The action in this book is awesome as well! I couldn’t wait to see what happened next as I was reading it. I will say, though, that I did get a little blurry eyed trying to remember who all the bad guys were and how they were all tied together. But, in the end?? Awesome story!! Had no idea this was part of a series, but I will tell you, based on this one, I’d love to go back and read the first one and can’t wait for the second. Well done ladies, very well done.

This book took excitement to the next level! Mitch Monroe is on the run. He's lost his job, and now he has lost his friends. Both were murdered, and he is the main suspect for one of them. He gets help from his former co-worker, and one night fling, Caroline to figure out what is going on. They had no idea the situation was going to be so complex that they would be going up against some very powerful people.

Right from the beginning, this book screams exciting! The mention of Executive Privilege had me intrigued immediately, and Mitch, Kemp, and Tommy were so close, you know they had a big story already, and this was going to make it bigger. Caroline and Mitch are so much fun to watch. I love how entertaining they are, and the little games they play with each other. However, one of my favorite parts in the book is when they are completely honest with each other. You know it isn't easy for either one of them, so that scene packs an emotional punch. Caroline kicks serious butt! I absolutely love that she is awesome with a gun. I have no knowledge of any kind of gun, but the way the book is written, I was kind of sucked into Caroline's passion for it. Great writing with that!

I did read book one in this series, so it was terrific to see Grey in action again, and to get a peek of him and Sydney. The couples in this series are nothing short of amazing. Once again, so much thrilling adventure and action is fit into just a few days, so the book is non-stop adventure! Towards the end, there is a lot of discussion about the Justice Team, and I think it perfectly describes what makes these books so great. They are tackling very unusual problems that no one else can handle, and they do it while working outside the lines. It's unpredictable, and fresh, and I love it! You never know what the Justice Team is going to do next, and that's why I can't wait until book three comes out!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. This story drew me right in, I loved the plot, and the suspense.

Mitch, Tommy, and Kemp had been best friends throughout high school. After graduation they joined the FBI. The instructors had called the three friends, The Three Musketeers.

Tommy had been working undercover when he was killed. The FBI, and ATF, and people high up in the government is trying to cover up the murder by saying Tommy went rouge. Mitch is determined to get justice for his friend Tommy. Kemp was also murdered, and Mitch was wanted for questioning. He was a fugitive, and on the run.

He needed Caroline's help. They had shared one steamy night together, that the two pretended never happened. They still had that simmering heat that sizzled when they were close to one another. Caroline is a FBI agent, and she is one heck of a good shot. Caroline knew she was burning her career when she decided to help Mitch prove who was behind the murder of his friends.

This book was so good. I loved the banter between Caroline, and Mitch. The lake scene had me smiling. Nothing like being caught skinny dipping. The action, and suspense was intense. Some people in the government are dirty, and it can be very dangerous to try to bring them down. Caroline, and Mitch, and a few other friends worked hard to build a case, and dig up clues. The problem was they didn't know who to trust, or how high in the ranks the corruption went. I would recommend this book, if you love books with action, suspense, and a dash of romance along with a great plot!

I enjoyed this story, with its many levels of deception and secrets, the 'all for one' loyalty in friendships - not to mention the sweet romance!
I liked Mitch in the previous book of the series, and was looking forward to read his story. And it didn't disappoint.
The suspense in the story is intense, even though there's not that much action in itself. But the constant fear of getting caught, and the possible conspiracy theories are scary. The layers of secrets uncovered are spreading anxiety, and with every chapter there's something new revealed that makes the heart race faster.
The relationship, and history, between Mitch and Caroline is complex, but the pull they have for each other, the chemistry between them, is tangible. Not to give anything away, but the moments when Mitch and Caroline are honest and open about their feelings, in the past and now, are adorably sweet and touching. The passion, love, and tenderness is evident in the tale, even though the heat level is not high.
The banter between them, as well as with other characters, is fun and truly entertaining. One of the things I found so enjoyable was the stereotype personalities Caroline and Mitch represent, and how well they know each others mannerism and habits, thus the predictable way they could read each other, giving the story new layers of entertainment and depth.
Through the story it comes evident, that the authors had fun writing this story, and it made me enjoy it even more! Overall just very satisfying and delightful story, in both romance and suspense sectors, and deserves all the five spoons!

When I was offered an ARC of this book in exchanged for an honest review, I was thrilled. I loved Stealing Justice and could not wait for more of the characters. Cheating Justice did not disappoint. Mitch and Caroline were an excellent match for each other, both at work and in their personal life. The external plot was fast paced and kept us moving forward, a quick page turner.

Mitch is on the hunt for his friend’s murder when another friend is killed. Now, Mitch is on the run from the people who want to cover up the first murder by accusing him of killing his other friend. Mitch is working with Justice Greystone on the sly but its not enough access. So he contacts an old girlfriend in the FBI, Caroline, to help him.

Caroline plays by the book and has been burned by her relationship with Mitch in the past so she is understandably hesitant to get involved. But her innate sense of justice sees the coverup and the framing of Mitch and both of his friends for criminal activities and she can’t help but get involved. Being attracted to Mitch does not help her situation one bit.

The external plot focuses on guns for sale to Mexican drug lords and the coverup at the highest levels of or government. It’s ripped from the headlines. The story moves quickly and keeps your interest from page to page, while the romance develops naturally and over the course of the book.
I loved the pacing and the characters in this story. For me, Brice was a great addition and I hope to see him in future books too! Great read!

AWESOME BOOK! This is the second in the "Justice Team series". I highly recommend both Stealing Justice (book1) and Cheating Justice. They are great FBI/Private Sector books with lots of suspense, action and of course romantic interests. The books are written in a way that keeps you on your toes with twist yet make you laugh and smile at the same time.

In Cheating Justice we get to catchup on the team from Book 1 (Stealing Justice) and that is always a plus. The women in the series are strong and can hold their own against the tough FBI/Investigator males they work with and love. In Book 2 our hero is on the run fighting to clear his name and return to the real world. When his closest friends are killed he has to get help from the one gal he can't get out of his head after a mind blowing one night stand. (What he doesn't know is she has never gotten him out of her head as well). Trouble is, she is still 100% FBI and he's a former FBI guy that's on the run. Helping him just might cost her the job of her dreams or possibly gain her the love of her life.

Highly recommend!

Words really can't describe how much I adored this book. Cheating Justice is the second book in the Justice Team Series and I hate to say it but it may have overthrown my love for the first book. We were introduced to Mitch Monroe in the first books Stealing Justice and I knew that he was going to be one of those positively badass, Alpha Males. They did not disappoint. Mitch has been a wanted man and literally has no one else to turn to but Caroline, who after one very memorable night really doesn't want to want him as much as she does. Their relationship is combustible is so explosive.

I was on the edge of my seat from the moment the book started to the last line. The suspense was perfect and I honestly didn't see the ending coming. The balance between romance and mystery and the Feds is wonderful and I enjoyed every second of it. Also as I am from the DC Metro area so I love all the additions that capture my hometown.

This book hooked me in from the beginning. I have not read the first book in this series, but I will be picking it up to find out more about Grey and how the Justice Team came to be.

Mitch Monroe is an FBI agent on the run he has been framed for the murder of his friend while he is trying to figure out who killed his other friend. He contacts a friend in the FBI and is able to get her to help him, even though she is furious with him for not contacting her for almost a year. Mitch and Caroline have a history a hot and steamy history. Caroline knows that by helping Mitch this time it would mean the end of her career. She knows he is not a murderer and needs to know who is framing Mitch for murder and who killed their mutual friend. The corruption runs all the way to the top, can Mitch and Caroline get the evidence that they need before they are arrested or worse murdered?
Snatch it up if you love an action packed read. I can not wait for book three to come out!

This is the second book in the series.

The heroine is an FBI sniper. She really likes the hero but after their one time together, it really soured him for her after it risked her job and he lost his. Besides if it gets out they slept together, then everyone will try and take their shot at her and she’s tired of it because that’s just the way it was – you let one of the guys between your legs and they all feel they deserved a shot. When the hero tracks her down and convinces her to help him after many different conversations about what’s going on, how can she say no?

Our hero is the partner of the hero in the first book. He has to stay off the grid due to what happened just after he got fired from the FBI. Two of his really small inner circle have been killed and someone’s trying to pin them on him. One was giving him information about goings on about an FBI raid which killed their buddy. Someone must have found out and killed his other buddy and tried to pin it on him. Besides he didn’t kill him why would he? He knows he needs help and his partner will and has done things for her but he really needs our heroine.

The plot is great and it’s a fast paced book with many theories floating around. The chemistry between the main characters is good and you learn more about the new little undercover group from the first book. You really get to hate their old boss at the FBI too.

This is the first from this series, and I can only imagine where the next book takes us.

This is a story about government corruption and cover-up, which isn’t the usual plot I look for when selecting a romantic/suspense book. The clever dialogue and great chemistry between Mitch Monroe and Caroline is what I enjoyed most about this story. In the 1st book of this Series, I was into the mystery more than the romance, while this book for me was all about the crazy and hot affair between Mitch and Caroline. They are such a mismatched couple, which only adds to the fun. Mitch is “on the Lam” as this renegade FBI agent is wanted for murdered. Caroline, his former partner, is a “By the Book “ FBI agent. Though, it seems even this highly trained sharp shooter couldn’t avoid the charms of Mitch, as Caroline keeps remembering the one night of passion she once shared with him. Now with Mitch’s freedom and reputation on the line, will Caroline jeopardized her career and heart to help Mitch find the real murders? In Over-all rating 3.75

I’m a fan of RS authors Adrienne Giordano and Misty Evans individually, so having them collaborate on a series is a treat. After thoroughly enjoying the first book in The Justice Team series, I jumped at the chance to read its follow-up, CHEATING JUSTICE. Who doesn’t love the pairing up of a renegade ex-FBI agent on the lam, a strait-laced FBI SWAT sniper on administrative leave, and an ex-ATF-agent-turned-government-watchdog-blogger on a mission to expose a government cover-up? Genius, and Ms. Giordano and Ms. Evans deliver with compelling characters, a gripping plot, witty dialogue, and searing sexual chemistry.

CHEATING JUSTICE starts off with a bang, with fugitive hero Mitch Monroe—on the run for the past year after assaulting his superior in the FBI for trying to sweep a politically-sensitive case under the rug—clandestinely meeting up with a childhood friend and current presidential aide to get info on the suspicious death of their other best friend, FBI Special Agent Tommy Nusco, during an ATF-FBI gun-running investigation… only to discover his friend murdered and himself the #1 suspect the next morning. That kicks Mitch’s investigation onto what went down to end with Tommy dead and labelled dirty—and how high up the government hierarchy the conspiracy to cover up the case goes—into high gear, and he seeks out one-time fling, former colleague under the same boss he assaulted (and whose career he nearly wrecked), and badass sniper Special Agent Caroline Foster. Initially, Caroline wants nothing to do with Mitch or his career-suicide mission, but classified case files and a dressing down from her superior for trying to access them changes her mind, and the two of them—plus a blogger they pick up along the way—embark on a quest for the truth that gets more complex and surprising with every lead they uncover.

The fast-paced and superbly-written suspense plot drew me in, but what really kept me turning the pages and rooting for the clearing of Tommy’s name were the characters. We met Mitch in the first book, STEALING JUSTICE, and got glimpses of his charm, loyalty, and act-now-think-later personality. The murders of his two closest friends force him out of hiding to investigate—with the FBI after him for murder in addition to insubordination & assault—and right back to the fellow agent he shared an unbelievable night of passion with. One he hoped would be the start of something but that Caroline ran scared from (but has never forgotten) before his Bureau career imploded and nearly incinerated hers. Mitch is an all-around good guy who doesn’t see himself that way and doesn’t let people in, a protector loyal to a fault, and single-minded in his pursuit of the truth and justice for his friends—even at the (potential) cost of his own freedom. The burn-the-book renegade attitude that made him a fugitive in the first place adds an edge to his charm and flirtatious banter… and those T-shirts: Bad Cop never looked so good! It’s refreshing that he’s the one wanting more, being upfront about it, and putting the brakes on something purely physical (again) with Caroline. More importantly, he’s the perfect counterpoint to Caroline’s control-freak and meticulous by-the-book personality, and the push-pull of their relationship and their prior history make for some entertaining banter and situations as Mitch coaxes her over to the dark side. Ms. Giordano and Ms. Evans do an excellent job creating a heroine that is completely kickass—a female sniper!—without compromising her femininity, and watching her finally learn to let go enough to admit her feelings for Mitch was very rewarding.

CHEATING JUSTICE is an excellent continuation of The Justice Team series and makes for a thoroughly enjoyable page-turning read. Looking forward to seeing what these talented authors have in store next for the motley Justice Team crew!

Misty Evans and Adrienne Giordano are back with the second instalment of the thrilling Justice Team series.
This time around we have Mitch Monroe; we had met Mitch in book one and I for one was very curious about the man who was a ghost and lived off the grid, so was thrilled to be getting his story. Within the first chapter we get a good feel for who Mitch is and how he’s living and then bam! by the end of that chapter…. Mitch is framed for murder and his already fugitive status just sent him straight to the top of his former colleagues’ to-do lists. Needing help he turns to Special Agent Caroline Foster, not only a top agent but also a top sniper and the woman he spent one incredible night with. Caroline has never forgotten Mitch, he broke her heart when he ran and cut all contact with her but she knows Mitch did not do the crimes he is accused of, so when he tells her about another friends death and she checks out those claims…. She decides she will put the past behind her and help him clear his name. Yet again she finds her career in jeopardy through Mitch but if what they uncover is true… they really need to blow this case wide open, not only in the hopes of freeing Mitch but to catch the real culprits… not only putting their lives in danger…. But their hearts.
This is yet another movie worthy book filled with intensity, passion, injustice, action and romance that hits all the spots for me. I mentioned that Mitch had caught my interest in book one, I liked his character then so I was definitely invested in his book and that opening chapter was definitely a shocker but what a great way to open the book because it hooked you in straight away. It was nice to get Mitch’s background and I really enjoyed his connection to Caroline, you got the sense of familiarity between them from the outset, they both ‘knew’ each-others in and outs and that’s without the intimacy between them. They made a brilliant team investigation wise, fitting so well with each other, knowing how each others thoughts, that gave a really deep feel to not only their professional relationship but their personal one too and I also liked how their different personality types complimented each other. It stands to reason that if they work so well professionally that they work intimately too, giving us some very steamy moments but with feeling too.
The storyline is definitely where it’s at and if you have read the first book in the series, you will know what type of plot we will be in for. What we have here is a tense political thriller sprinkled with romance and as I mentioned before – would make an amazing movie. We have murder, a man on the run trying to clear his name, a woman willing to risk it all for a man, conspiracy theories, gun running, sabotage, near death situations, a complex investigation that needs cracking and some good old sexytime - We even get a good few Justice Greystone scenes and see his operation in action, showing its full potential. It was tense, exciting, edge of your seat stuff where you can really become invested in the characters and their lives, where you want to see justice prevail and the bad guys ass get handed to him… it’s good, really good! And I can’t wait for more. 4.5*s

Fantastic writing makes this suspense romance an action packed page-turner!! I just loved the sparks and chemistry between Mitch and Caroline. They had a rocky past that makes it hard for either of them to be free with their feelings this time around. Not to mention they are running for their lives and dealing with government cover-ups and all the danger that comes with that territory! The romance was very well done and the perfect steaminess to go with the danger and suspense!
So suspenseful (have I said that enough?! LOL) and engaging that you will be on the edge of your seat, looking over your shoulder, waiting for the next surprise to come at you. I just can’t praise this enough, it was a nail biter of a story. These two authors know how to banter and interact well! They perfectly throw humor in just the right spots that you smile and laugh with the characters. Then they throw you down a roller coaster ride of emotions with them as the characters deal with the betrayal and danger.
I have to agree with the other reviewers – Brice was a fun addition, a great secondary character! Grey, from the first Justice Team Book, is back and in perfect form along with the government higher ups that you meet in the first book. I wish there was a way to give this one 10 stars! I love exciting stories filled with intriguing characters.
I received this book for an honest review.

Posted on What I'm Reading

All right, I finished reading Cheating Justice, and I'm not sure what to say. I guess I should just roll with whatever flies out. In the Stealing Justice, Mitch was around, but hiding after all he's a man on the run. Now he wants his name clear and find out who killed his friend. So, he decides to go to a friend who works for the FBI for help. Now Caroline could have said, "No way! Are you nuts?" Instead she helps Mitch, this could jeopardize her career.

Okay, so we have Caroline who is Type A personality, I don't how she can stand break some laws to help Mitch. While Mitch is the type of guy that goes in without a thought to the consequeses to his actions. So, you have these two going at odds with one another on what should they do. At the same time keeping their feelings in check, all right it's mainly Caroline. You have Mitch who would like to have a real relationship with Caroline.

Cheating Justice is an action filled story, where you have Mitch and Caroline digging deeper to find the truth which puts in harms way. So, the danger level continues to build as the story progress. The story does have a little romance, because you see the chemistry between Mitch and Caroline. However, if you are looking for hot and heavy right way, you won't find it. Now if you are looking for suspense and danger you will see it. I like the story cause you do get a romance, but you also have a plot that is thickening in the series. Could this be read as a standalone? Not really, because there are few shady characters that have appear in the first book making a reappearance. You get the hint they are bad, but can't really prove. So, we have the progression and I can't wait for the next book for a couple reasons: 1) What's going to happen next? 2) Who's the next one to find romance?

Cheating Justice is a pretty good book filled with action and suspense with a dash of romance. I would recommend reading Stealing Justice first, before diving into this book. I still believe this series has a promising story that going to be filled with action and danger. So, if you are looking for something like this, you might consider trying the Justice Team books.

I'm loving this series! The second book in the Justice Team series (book one: Stealing Justice) definitely did not disappoint. Mitch and Caroline made an awesome team (a renegade fugitive from justice and a type-A, by-the-book FBI sniper) and their banter was fantastic. Somehow Caroline's threatening to shoot Mitch just never got old. ;)

Caroline and Mitch have a past--they worked together for the FBI, before Mitch and Grey (the hero of book one) got themselves in trouble and Mitch became a federal fugitive. That earlier Mitch and Caroline even shared one unforgettable night--a night each is convinced that the other did indeed somehow forget--the night Mitch has referred to as "the-night-that-never-happened" ever since.

Now Mitch's two best friends are dead--one set up for a crime Mitch knows he didn't commit--and Mitch himself is wanted for the murder of the other. He needs Caroline to help him clear their former coworker and friend's name and to help him get a life back. No pressure, right? Fortunately, Caroline is totally the woman for the job, and the woman for Mitch...even though she attempts to fight it for the two-thirds of the book.

The world needed a Mitch Monroe support group. A program. Somewhere women like Caroline could go to save themselves because she wasn't just about to fall of the wagon. She was about to dive off head first. Twelve stories. Onto cement.

Fortunately, they manage to actually communicate through all the snarkiness and misunderstandings and wow, they're a team--and couple--to be reckoned with. They also find an awesome sidekick in a former ATF agent-turned-government whistleblower and blogger. With his help they uncover a massive conspiracy that reaches into the highest levels of the U.S.

This book has it all--action, suspense, drama, romance--did I mention I'm loving this series?

Can't wait for book three!

This book had everything that I love in it – tons of action and suspense, lots of plot twists and turns, and a hero and heroine that had the sparks flying off the page. The story pulled me in from the first page and had me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. Add in the great cast of supporting characters, and this book really did have everything that belongs in a romantic suspense novel!

Mitch and Caroline were such a great pair. Knowing she can’t refuse him, Mitch enlists Caroline’s help to uncover the truth behind the murder of his childhood friend who was killed while working undercover as part of a joint task force. Their investigation leads them through a web of lies, half-truths and cover-ups that point to the top levels of multiple governmental agencies – and ultimately stirs up a hornet’s nest of trouble which puts their own lives at risk.

I really loved the mystery in this story. There were so many interwoven parts that it kept me guessing and second-guessing for the entire book just who was involved and the motivation behind their involvement. With a plot laced with such intricacies, I was impressed with the authors’ ability to go into the level of detail required to keep the story realistic, but at the same time not overwhelm me.

I loved Mitch and Caroline together. Their verbal sparring had me laughing and their chemistry was off the charts. I loved watching their relationship take form and was really rooting for them to find their way to each other without losing themselves in the journey, and I was not disappointed with how things turned out.

The supporting characters were great - I just loved Brice and how he interacted with Mitch and Caroline. Grey and Teeg were awesome, and I can’t wait to go back and read the first book so I can get more on their story.

I loved everything about this book and can’t wait to go back and read the first book, Stealing Justice, and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I was given a copy of this book from the authors for an honest review.

4.5 SUSPENSEFUL STARS!

Hang on for the ride of your life...

I loved this book. When you mix mystery, suspense, drama, and romance together you get an amazing combination! These authors are new to me and this will not be my last book by them! This book is full of mystery, suspense, steam, romance, drama, and two characters with enough chemistry to light a fire. And the best part about this book was that is was not predictable! It kept me on the edge of my seat, guessing until the end.

This is the story of Mitch and Caroline. Mitch is on the run. He is in hiding. When he is framed for murder and tragedy begins to happen around him and lives are lost, it will send him on the fight of his life. In walks Caroline. After a passionate night between Caroline and Mitch, while they try to pretend like it didn't happen, they can't forget about it. When Mitch comes back into Caroline's life and asks something that could risk her entire life, including her career, she will have to make a decision- help Mitch prove his innocence and get justice or walk away. As these go on the ride of their lives, the chemistry between them begins to build and it is only a matter of time before the flames ignite...again!

Will Caroline risk everything for Mitch? Will Mitch be able to prove his innocence? Will Mitch find out who is behind the murders? Will Mitch and Caroline be able to resist the pull between them? th they be able to open their hearts to love?... and most importantly, who can you trust?

I loved Mitch. I loved Caroline. I loved the banter between them. I loved their chemistry. I loved how they communicated with each other and actually acted like adults (nice change of pace!). From the beginning, you could feel their connection. I loved their strong personalities. I loved how Caroline was a no nonsense kind of girl.

I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed!

Can't wait to see what these authors have in store for us!

The second in the action filled romantice suspense Justice series is as good if not better than the first, STEALING JUSTICE. I did receive an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review, and it did not disappoint.

Mitch has been on the run for a year after things went bad at his FBI job, but he is willing to risk exposure to find out what happened to his two best friends from high school. Tommy was killed in an ATF-FBI mission in New Mexico, labeled dirty, and all records were sealed. When Mitch and third friend Kemp discuss the case, Kemp is murdered on the way home.

Not knowing who to trust, he asks FBI Agent and SWAT sharpshooter Caroline Foster for help finding the files. After her first attempt to look at them, she is called into her boss's office and chastised.

Caroline has been trying to get over Mitch after they shared a hot night months ago and a flirtation for months before from when they worked in the same department. She doesn't entirely trust him, but she doesn't like the idea that a good agent (Tommy) was sullied and buried under political aspirations.

With the help of Justice Greystone and his secret agency from Book 1, the pair begins interviewing anyone who may have worked with Tommy. They bring former ATF agent Brice, who is now a powerful blogger, to New Mexico. As soon as they start posting information, they realize they are in danger. The chain of illegal activities extends very high and many people do not want details of this case released.

Mitch and Caroline also realize they have long term feelings. Evans and Giordano do a great job of interspersing action, clues and romantic scenes to keep the pages turning. The details about the weapons and agencies are interesting without overwhelming readers. Both leads are flawed yet very appealing. Caroline is a great female alpha.

Fans of Julie Ann Walker and Catherine Mann will enjoy this series as well.
