4-4.5 Beauty and the Beast stars!
Ella James should exclusively write erotic fairytales. After finishing this, I am dying for the next part! Thankfully, the wait will be very short!!!
Beast is a story about young girl named Annabelle. One night, meeting her huge hollywood crush, changes her entire life. That night changes Ricardo/Cal Hammond’s life forever as well. One accident- one mistake turns his entire life world upside down and changes the course of his life forever.
Now it’s seven years later. In the most unlikely way, these two meet again. Ricardo is not the man he once was, and he makes it clear to Belle. He wants Belle, and he is in the perfect position to get what he wants.
I’m keeping this one short and sweet, just like this novella. Personally, I liked the start of this serial even more than Ella’s Red & Wolfe. A promising start! I’m so excited to read more!!!

4--Intriguing--Stars!
It's really hard to rate serials when you don't have the full story. And yes, I'm reading another serial even though I swore I wouldn't!
But this one seems really different so far and I'm definitely intrigued and want to know what the hell is going on.
So the story begins in the past. We have Annabelle, who is 17. She is a bit obssesed with a famous actor named Cal Hammond. She gets invited to a party and plans to lose her virginity to him.
She meets Cal, real name Ricardo. There's some attraction there. Annabelle lies about her age. But they end up messing around--no cherry popping though. They part ways and leave the party separately.
And now is where things get interesting....
Late that night after the party, Annabelle stumbles upon a fiery car crash which happens to be Ricardo and his friends. Two are dead on the scene, one is barely hanging on to his life and Ricardo is stuck in the car.
Fastforward 7+ years and Ricardo has been in prison since the car wreck that ended with the death of his three friends. Annabelle's dad, Holt, is the warden at the prison. But the Beast is really the one in charge.
Annabelle's mom is dying from cancer. Annabelle needs a job and she's hoping her dad can help her.
After Holt betrays the Beast, his life is in jeopardy. When Annabelle shows up at the prison that same day she gets a lot more than she bargained for. The Beast is willing to make a deal....Holt's life in exchange for Annabelle....

So yeah, we're left with a big fat cliffhanger. But Beast, Part II will be out Monday, August 25th so it's not a long wait and all. And I need to know what the hell is going on.

Unfortunately for Anabelle, Holt (her dad) is stealing money from Beast to help her with paying bills. Beast has no choice (being the rule maker and all) but to punish him, but he gives Anabelle a "way out", he allows her to pay Holt's debt....with her body.
"You will be here every day. Ready to give me what I want. Ready to please me. I'll please you, too, Angel.(...) You'll be my whore, Belle. You'll be a killer's slut. Are you willing to do that?"
The question is: will she? We'll see in the next installment, I guess..

Oh man, Ella James sure knows how to write about sex in a classy and very original way! Her work doesn't make you want to yell "Oh my, what a cliché!"; on the contrary, it's always extremely clever. I am completely awestruck by her creativity. Her "fairytale fantasies" are quickly becoming my favourite secret hobbies!
I loved the Red & Wolfe, Part I series and Beast, Part I is obviously going to be just as amazing!
Now, if we get to the story...
It starts in the past, when Annabelle "Belle" Mitchell is just a 17-year-old sweet girl, who is still a virgin. But she has a plan to finally "pop her cherry", and with someone she has been quite obsessed with for years now: Cal Hammond, a famous actor.
Cal/Ricardo Hammond is a young Hollywood "Prince", who has everything a man can want: the looks, women, money, cars, fame... But being sucked into the "lifestyle" and the stress of her troubled family, pushes him into some bad habits. Some bad habits that end up ruining his life...
Annabelle goes to the party Cal will be attending, as planned, and meets with him. They are instantly attracted to each other. Belle doesn't lose her virginity to him that night, but they do make some good memories...
"There's a story for your friends," he winks.
Reckless decisions and actions makes way to a tragedy that night, crossing Belle and Cal's paths once more, changing everything, wrecking Cal's life permanently, starting his journey towards becoming "the Beast"...
Then we fast forward 7 years...
Ricardo has been in prison for all these years, becoming the master of that place, a powerful Don, "the Beast". The warden of the prison, Holt, who is also Annabelle's stepfather, has stolen money from Beast. His betrayal can only lead to his death. There are rules. Beast simply has to live by them...
But then Annabelle shows up at the prison and now Beast has a better idea for way of payment. He is ready to make a deal: Annabelle, in exchange for Holt's life.
"You will give yourself to me. Body and soul. You will be here everyday. Ready to give me what I want. Ready to please me. (...) I'll please you, too, Angel."
Annabelle remembers everything from 7 years ago and she is still attracted to this man. But now she realizes that, Cal is dead. Ricardo is dead. There's only Beast now.
"Never call me Ricardo. Never call me anything but Beast."
Can she take the offer? Is she ready to do this, in order to save Holt's life?
"You'll be my whore, Belle. You'll be a killer's slut. Are you willing to do that?"
Then she makes her decision:
But I'm hungry. Foolish. Daring. Reckless. I'm dancing in the eye of the storm. Drowning in a fairy tale. Living in a dream. I can't say no. Not even if I lived to be a thousand.
This book had a crazy pace! I can't believe all this action was able to be squeezed in this short novella...
Of course, it ends with a cliffhanger, but don't worry, Part 2 is coming out soon! :)

And when Belle’s father gets in his hit-list he makes an offer: his life for Belle. And in that moment everything changes for both of them.
A few years later their paths cross again. But this time Beast will have to use different…methods, in order to get what he wants: Belle.
Rating: 4 Stars.
Storyline: I don’t normally read this short serials, but this was a very promising beginning. The Beauty and The Beast is one of my favorite movies ever, so I’m a little suspect to talk, but I love all based stories and this really grabbed my attention. Definitely continuing reading these books.

Annabelle, a 17 year old. who have a major CRUSH on Ricardo Hammond. AKA Cal. a famous actor. She gets invited to Perri Adams party. expecting to meet Cal. and plans to lose her Virginity to him.!,,Yep
They first meet , when he was about to leave the party. She got his attention, Though the "action" that happened, i was not cool about it,
It was practically Hit and Run..situation!!
After having her amazing night, Annabelle did not felt like going home. so she droved and kept thinking about how Cal made her feel. Annabelle stumbles upon igneous car crash, which happens to be Ricardo's Lambo car.

This was a very fast read for me, and I have to say that at first I wasn't sold on the story at all. I found the story to be slow going for the first half of the book; but when a drastic event happens, the story takes a turn and becomes quite interesting.
I look forward to checking out what eventually will happen as the story progresses.
This is a series of books, that I believe come out every few weeks. Usually I prefer to wait until the series is complete; but I love any book that has a "Beauty and the Beast" theme. I just had to check this one out. I am crossing my fingers that the second book will be a lot better!

Beast is the first part of the twisted take on the Beauty & the Beast fairy tale by Ella James. For those that read Red & Wolfe, you already know what to expect from this author, for those that might be itching to discover a new author, join us. You’ll like it here.
The story begins with a brief glimpse into Beast, then flashing back to the moment where it all started. Annabelle was just seventeen and her plan was simple. Sneak out, fake ID in hand, get into the party and meet Hollywood star Cal Hammond and lose her virginity.
Cal had it all, until he lost everything. One night, one mistake... only one way to make up for it. Take his punishment. But his time within the walls of La Rosa have hardened him, turning him into a monster of a man. He ruled Hollywood as Cal... but he is the master of his universe as Beast within the prison.
When he sees her walking through the prison, he decides that rather than make her step-father pay for his transgressions, he’ll allow her to pay for his sins. But will the Beast remember the softness of his angel once he has her? Can she save him from the personal hell he created for himself?
The way this story starts left me all sorts of intrigued. Getting a glimpse into the man he was today, then having to go back to the beginning to see the kind of man he was – well that just made me want more of this story. I adored R&W and the heat that story brought and I have a feeling that Beast is going to put our Race to shame. But I think what I loved the most was that this first installment was pure anticipation of what is to come. Usually with serial novellas the anticipation occurs with that cliffhanger ending, not with this one. The need to get your hands on the next one begins as Ella unfolds their story – eight years prior to where this one ends. The ending was not a cliff. It brought the part one to a closure to open us up to the grit of what will come next. Beast taking it out on her body.
I never thought I’d find the appeal of twisting a fairy tale into something erotic... Ella James changed that.

3,5 Stars! An interesting start, that left me wanting more..
Ricardo AKA the Beast was a super hot Hollywood star but after a weird and macabre accident he ends up in jail and now 8 years later he has the chance to find his 'Angel' again..
To tell you the truth, he was a dangerous person before the accident, but after it, i think the situations made him so much more.. Anyway he has a sweet spot -if you can call it that- for our Belle and now that he found her again he wants to possess her completely..
He is enchanted by her, and i hope she can "save" him..
Our Belle is a psychologist, very responsible, smart and a little insecure -of course- who in her heart is still the very starstrucked a little reckless teen she was when they first met.. I'm very curious about the next part..
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- Dual POV.
- Ric has a very compeling inner voice..
- Her step-dad maybe is corrupt but towards Belle he was great.. At least for now.
- Some plotholes..
- Why did he act like he didn't recognise her??
- Very hot book.

Loved loved it!!! Ella James can rock retelling of fairy tales in an erotic way!! They are not cheesy but very, very clever!! I loved Red and Wolfe series and I loved The Beast. Her take on it is original but when you get a little clever tidbit you smile.
So Beast was first a prince in Hollywood, a young star whose family is hollywood Royality. He (Ricardo) has it all but like many young rich stars he is careless. One reckless night and a poor decision leads to a term in prison. Not just any prison, no a maximum security prison. This where he infuriates the system and rises to the top of the chain and his fellow inmates refer to him, simply, The Beast!!
Annabelle (Belle) is a sweet girl who has an encounter with Ricardo on this reckless night. She is young and awe struck. This night made an impact on her that will lead her on a path to an encounter; where she meets Beast again in the prison where her father is a warden. Her father crossed Beast and he must pay the ultimate price unless Annabelle agrees to pay his debt??

Such a great start to Ella James' new series, Beast.
This is the beginning of Annabelle and Beast's story. They first meet at a party in Hollywood. Later that night they meet again under terrible circumstances which change their lives and leaves Beast in prison. Fast forward seven years later they meet again in the most improbable way. She's just found out that her stepfather has betrayed Beast and owes him with his life. But Beast decides to let him live if Belle will pay the price. What will she do? Pick up this novella and read along to find out!

The story had potential. The characters had so much potential. I love the concept.
From a technical stand point, the writing is very unpolished. Very choppy. It doesn't flow well at all. Also there were some things in this story that are very unrealistic. Overall this was an enjoyable read. If you like some dirty talk and HOT SEX SCENES with your romance, then you should try Beast.

Ehhh... I liked this slightly more than Red & Wolfe. It was better written, the characters more developed, and the premise was more attractive to me.
Not attractive enough, however, to negate my feelings about the final scene.
I probably won't finish this series.

I felt curious about the description, but then it was a huge disappointing for me. I disliked the characters from page 1, especially him. It was a short read, but I don't think I'll be reading the following parts of the story.

Beast is an erotic novella that is inspired by the fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast. I personally did not see any connection between the two in this first installment, but maybe I was expecting it to be the "dirty" version of the Disney film. In any case, it's definitely not ;) Part One is how Annabelle and Ricardo...aka Cal Hammond...aka Beast...first meet at a celebrity party, and the after effects that send Ricardo to jail and transform him into the Beast.
Ricardo is a famous movie star that goes by the name Cal Hammond. He parties, does drugs and sleeps around. Annabelle, on the other hand, is quite an interesting character. Not only is she a sweet 18 year old virgin who's afraid to give it up, she has an unhealthy obsession with Cal Hammond.
"Do you know how many photos I've seen of him? I have a collection of them, in a binder under my bed. Seventy-nine different snapshots, cut from magazines and newspapers, pasted into white cardboard pages"
Hello, psycho! She even goes so far as to use his last name on her fake ID, as if they are married. She was a bit "off", so it was kind of hard to connect with her. Ricardo is instantly attracted to Annabelle when he sees her at this party, and although he doesn't take her virginity, he definitely takes care of her, if you know what I mean. They separate afterwards, with no expectations to see each other again, but fate somehow intervenes, and Annabelle becomes his Angel, saving him after a horrific accident that eventually sends him to prison.
The novella ends, over 7 years later, when Ricardo now runs the prison from the inside, even having control over the Warden, who happens to be Annabelle's step-father. When her step-father steals money from Ricardo, and is caught, it's an automatic death sentence for him. Fortunately Annabelle shows up to the prison, for a visit, just in time, and she has the power to pay back her step-father's debt.
"You will give yourself to me. Body and soul."
There is quite a bit of drug use, explicit sexual situations, and a graphic car accident in Beast. It's an action packed novella that you'll be able to finish in one sitting. Those are my favorites! Due to the length of a novella, character and relationship development can sometimes suffer due to the short time span and length of the story. I felt this way about Annabelle and Ricardo. However, it's also why I'm really intrigued about how things will develop and progress in the next three installments. This was my first Ella James read and certainly not my last. I'm eagerly waiting for Part 2 to be released on August 25.

Beauty and the Beast - has always been one of my favorite fairy tales. It's truly one of the most beautiful love stories I know. Anyhow, when I found out this book was a twisted take on the fairy tale and plus an interracial romance. I got excited and one-clicked! {Thank God It Was Free} After reading I'm left wondering: "WTF Did I Just Read?!" The beginning was so frickin ridiculous. And the cliffhanger I'm like, "What In Tarnation?" Won't be finishing series.

Este es la primera parte de una historia entre una ex estrella de cine Cal y una chica común llamada Annabelle.
Ambos se encuentran en una fiesta e intercambian palabras y quizás un poco más. Pero la vuelta a casa de ambos resulta ser desastrosa en muchas maneras, también es algo que los unirá para siempre. Pero siete años después Annabelle no es la misma y Cal tampoco.
Está bien como introducción pero odio este tipo de libros que son de 10 páginas. Osea... Que mierda os cuesta juntar todo en un libro? Que pereza me dais de verdad. Que amargura me produce tener que leer en diferentes libros para una cosa tan pequeña.
Por lo que se refiere a la historia está muy interesante allá voy al siguiente.

Loved this first installment. It's a total high school girl's fantasy night in the sexiest way. The end is a harbinger for darker themes in the next installments, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

What the…..?
I have a thing for series which are told over short instalments at the moment. After reading Ella James’s ‘Red & Wolf’ series I came across this Beast series and I was than intrigued by the synopsis.
The majority of the book (around 70%) focuses on how the two MCs – Cal Hammod (a 21 year old famous movie-star) and Annabelle (a 17 year old no-body) meet. Even though this is a quick read, this focus on their background allowed me to really get a ‘fee’ of the characters. Cal is rich and living the high life. Literally. He seems stuck in some sort of rut that is swallowing him up fast. Between his filming career, drug-addict father, uncaring-not-really-there mother, his numerous conquests and his own little drug problem, it’s not surprising that he reaches out to Annabelle.
They meet when Cal attends a house party of some other rich TV star and Annabelle manages to get on the invite list thanks for her friend’s father. She has had a long-term thing with Cal –bordering on obsession and her friends convince her to approach him and ultimately cash in her V-card.
The story is told from dual POVs, which again is another good aspect to the book. The two end up together at the party, albeit briefly and not actually having sex. They part ways and in a stroke of luck, or rather bad luck, they cross paths again the same night when Cal crashes his sports car (after inhaling and eating some blow!)
Fast forward nearly 8 years. Annabelle is struggling to look after her younger sister, sick mother and study for her Masters degree. So she sets out to visit her step-dad who works in the same prison that Cal ended up in when his passengers die in the crash years ago.
As the synopsis states, Cal has changed. In fact, he is no longer known as Cal and has spent his time banged up as the prison’s ‘Don’. That is, he owns the prison. The prisoners and the guards are all under his thumb and help him run and deal drugs both on the inside and out. When the two reunite at the end of the book, it’s not clear to me if he remembers her. At one point I think he does, at least he remembers her from the party, but im not sure if he remembers her as the person who saved him when he crashed his car. Annabelle definitely does recognise him, but is too shocked by the dramatic change in him.
The ending……….was weird. Annabelle is given the choice to become Beast’s bitch while he’s in prison in exchange for him not killing her stepdad (since he stole lots of the drug money belonging to Beast).
Definitely a cliffhanger, but I only have to wait one day since book 2 is out tomorrow – 25th Aug. Yay!
