"After school Dad wants to quiz me - On Spelling and on Math. I’m done with that you Butthead. Lets not go down this path." Dad and I don’t always agree. And sometimes I call him names. But, is he the Best Dad in the World?
This is about a boy and his dad. Each time his dad says something the boy answers with "butthead". It is throughout the book. But in the end he loves his dad very much as his dad loves him. Great book for elementary aged children. Enjoyed reading it. The colors and pictures were very vibrant and the reading was quite easy to read. I recommend it.
I dislike this book because in the lucky his dad feeds him because does he know how to cook ! NO! So and if he did cook well ha! I bet he just sit on his lazy butt and eat potato chips so yeah stupid book 😒👎
My child is getting a new stepdad coming on the way and she is not happy so one day he walked in her room and read this very book to her and from now on she does everything with him 💖💖😇
While the story is cute & rhythmic, & mostly based upon how kids want to do the fun stuff while parents want the important things & are best in the long run....I DO KNOW that the author could've chosen a better derogatory word to use than "Butthead". As a Mother, I feel this book would ultimately teach a negative thing to a child that doesn't use such words. I thought at first that I was seeing things because I couldn't imagine an author teaching such names for parents to children. If I would've referred to either of my parents in such a way, it would've been the first & last time I would've done so. Nothing against the author, but I know if this book ever landed on school library shelves, a lot of kids will go home calling their parents "buttheads" & they'll get in trouble for it. They'll then be asked where they heard it from! The disrespect from kids to adults these days is a big part of the problem with kids. Republish with a better word, & I'd for sure purchase it for my kid's bookshelves! Great background, BAD selection of words!
I don't get it. The whole purpose of this little boys life seems to revolve around his father being a butthead, in his mind. It has nothing to do with the fact that he doesn't want to eat healthy. It doesn't revolve around his being lazy and not wanting to shower. The boy blames everything on his father. No one tells him it's not right to call his father names. Like I said at the beginning, I do not understand. It just shows a total lack of respect for his father who cares enough to be there. Yes, I am from the south where we respect our elders and don't call them b* ***d. We even have laws down here on respecting your parents and grandparents. Yes, they can go to juvenile detention for total disrespect for their elders and it all starts somewhere. Everyone is different in their opinions. This just happens to be mine. I have been seeing this book on Amazon and saw it was Kindle Unlimited. I wanted to see what it said.
My children love these little books. They thoroughly enjoy each and every story, as if they are all unique and individual without any cause for similarity among them. Even though sometimes, they might seem tedious and repetitive to me as a parent, I do enjoy being able to read short-stories to my children that are clean and respective.
My Dad Is a Butthead Colorful children's book. Story of a young boy who is irked by his dad. Everything from first being woken up in the morning and all he wants to do is sleep. After school his dad just wants to quiz him on school things and he's had enough of that. Even after his shower he still gives his dad a big hug because he knows his dad loves him.
Good little bit of rhyming & more suitably understood by a child older than 7 yrs. In my humble opinion seems more appropriately suited for a book of short rhymes & verses instead of feeling like I just read 2 pages of that of a deal book
