Marc Tolon Brown is perhaps best known for his series of children's books about Arthur the aardvark, which was turned into an animated television show on PBS. Brown is a three-time Emmy Award winner, for his role on the television show inspired by his books.
He lives on Martha's Vineyard and in New York City with his wife, Laurie Krasny Brown. He has three children, sons Tolon and Tucker, and daughter Eliza. The names of his two sons have been hidden in all of the Arthur books except for one: Arthur's Tooth.
In this book Arthur's Dad gets sick and is unable to make the pancakes for the neighborhood breakfast. Arthur and his friends decide to help. Each of his friends makes a different special recipe of pancakes. When the time comes to decide whose recipe will be the one the end up using for the neighborhood breakfast, they all get into a disagreement. It is then decided that all of their unique recipes should be incorporated on the menu, and the neighborhood can pick and choose! This is an adorable, engaging book for children. This book could be used in the classroom, as it teaches many life lessons in a kid friendly way. Such as teaching the importance of helping family, and making compromises and being fair in situations.
Reminiscent of the Arthur episode with the strawberry competition, this short book follows Arthur and the gang while they step in for Arthur's dad making a neighbourhood pancake breakfast! Each character comes up with their own pancake recipe, but they have to decide what kind of pancakes they are going to make since the breakfast is starting right away!
Another cute book. Would recommend. (btw Constellation Cakes sound soo good.)
This book was a part of our bedtime routine FOREVER before DS turned 1. It got a little "over-loved" and I had to tape it back together with as many pieces as I could find, but it's still a favorite. I think the Achoo! on the first page and the cooking were what makes this such a favorite of my little chef...
