You Make Me ...Crazy

Rate this book
Rebellion's Lead Singer Kim Jaehan moves back home after a villainous agency blocks the band from performing independently. Depressed and defeated, Jaehan adopts a simple life, forgetting his fame, and instead embraces the small town life of Gong. Until his band mates ask him to return to Seoul to meet a man who could help Rebellion get back on stage. When Jaehan meets Suk Dan, he isn't ready to trust a man associated with the mob. Having faced betrayal from someone close to the band before, he is wary of Dan at first sight.

Suk Dan is a man determined to prove the world wrong about himself and Rebellion. Labeled a crooked business man with ties to the mob, he meets Rebellion with only one goal: to make them successful again and to silence the wagging tongues. At their first meeting, Kim Jaehan is distrustful and guarded, and Dan quickly realizes he must prove himself to Jaehan and Rebellion if he's to accomplish his goal.

Dan's determination to help Rebellion is soon fueled by love as his attraction to Jaehan grows. And even though Jaehan is too wrapped up in Rebellion and the fight to notice his love, Dan challenges him, pushing him to follow his heart despite the many obstacles that N-sang Entertainment throws at them. All the while hoping that Jaehan will one day look at him and see what lies in his heart.

I did enjoy this story although I don’t think this is one of Ms. Lee’s better works. My primary complaint is that it feels like a lot was left out; that some things were just glossed over. A lot of focus is on Jae’s feelings and ability to love after his disastrous breakup with Jaesun, but that is at the expense of the other characters. Jung and Andre are central figures but we learn almost nothing about them. Dan is introduced as a shady character, perhaps involved with the mob, but his reason for helping Rebellion is addressed very quickly by a couple of sentences late in the book. But the most confusing aspect to me was that the trio left N-sang Entertainment because they felt they were being swindeled and receiving on a small fraction of what they were due. Yet, all three appear to be quite wealthy, which, mid-way through, is attributed to their success with Black Shade.
The story ends on a positive note with most, but not all, of their challenges resolved.

This is a cute story of a band that's been betrayed, working their way back into the business. But it's also about personal betrayal and learning to trust again. The friendships and family relationships are so fully realized. A very good read.

Those who know manga "Beck" wont be surprised with story plot. Story plot is refreshing. Also author "Suilan Lee" done great work with her chosen writing stile so reading was pulling.

Main character is "Jaehan" and his 2 best friends who have a hard road ahead before they can say to themselves "we done it". Also its a story about a guy who was once burn in love so he is reluctant to take 1 more try in it.

From my point of view its great work.

The main storyline was interesting and pulling enough, but the writing style just didn't work for me, it was impersonal and hallow.

::sighs:: another beautiful story by miss Lee. I can honestly say I'm addicted to her stories and will be waiting for more.
