A very well-written book, packed with interesting information on British Bats, their biology, habits, habitats and conservation. A shame this book is so collectable as it tends to be very expensive to purchase copies (I borrowed a copy from my local library) but would be a wonderful book to own for reference.

Highly recommended to anyone interested in learning more about bats.

Excellent book

If you are into watching bats and would like to gain some additional knowledge and understanding then you won't go far wrong with this book.

Although I wanted a more in depth read about bats this book was a good refresher.
The book discusses and explores the history of bats and humans, their evolution, biology and ecology, British bats by species, conservation and how to go about observing and sudying our flying mammalian friends.
If you are new to bats or know the basics about them this is an excellent book to send you further on your way. The writing style is clear and concise making the book easy to read even when tackling the subject of echolocation and its basic physics which some may find daunting.
In the appendix the reader will find a guide to identifying bats in the hand in which there are charming illustrations of smiley British bats, perfect for brightening even the gloomiest of days.
