The official reports say he committed suicide after a drug overdose while flying the company jet. She lost her job and a respected RN when she was accused of stealing the drugs her husband took. Uncover operative, Graeme McAlister doesn’t believe any of it and he is back in Texas to uncover the truth that has eluded the officials. His gut says his brother did not kill himself just as adamantly as it knows that Maggie, the widowed mother did not steal the drugs that took her husband’s life. Carra Copelin's Code of honor gives us an wonderful story .. of a family brought back together after a very tragic death..Greame McAlister comes back home to the family ranch to help his family..find out why his brother committed suicide by taking a drug overdose while flying a plane..The love of his life still lives there Maggie Benning Who was married to his brother!! But is now a widow with a child.. I was drawn into the intrigue in this book I felt as if I was there with them.. I would Definitely read other books by Carra Copelin
This reminded me so much of the early books by Sandra Brown.
Graeme and Maggie have known each other for years, but finally have a chance at making a life together, if they stay alive long enough!
Love develops during the solving of a mystery (without lots of gore). Likable characters, true friends, lovers you admire, clear cut good guys versus bad guys, with a sad death thrown in to keep it real. Clues embedded throughout the story lead you to the conclusion you were hoping for.
Thanks for the Goodreads giveaway. My first chance to read the work of this author. Looking forward to her next book (with a character from this one)!
I won a copy of Code of Honor from the author, Carra Copelin, through a Goodreads giveaway (a big thank you by the way). The book is based on Graeme coming home to solve the mystery surrounding the death of his foster brother Wyatt. Graeme must also unravel and sort out his past with Wyatt’s widow. I became vested in the story quite quickly. Character development was good, engaging. A mystery and love story all rolled into one. A delightful and easy read.
This was my first time reading a book written by Carra Copelin, and I am looking forward to the next in the series.
I received Code of Honor through first reads in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked the characters. Graeme and Maggie are easy to relate to and they seem realistic. I enjoyed their journey and thought that it was wrapped up nicely. Overall it was a great read!
A wonderful beginning to a new series. Well written, good storyline and characters that played their parts well. Looking forward to the next one. JudyE
Can Graeme find out what really happened to his brother? Can Maggie every learn to trust and love again? Suspense, intrigue and a good storyline with a ending you'll love.
The name choices were so hard to read, not sure why they had to be so out there in difference. I did like the storyline, however, the relationship between Graeme and Maggie moved very fast for the situation they were in. Not sure how I feel about this one.
I read this book as part of the '9 ways to fall in love' anthology. It was ok. I liked the characters, but didn't see how all the secret ops guys could miss so much of what was going on.
This story was awesome. Characters developed nicely. The storyline was suspenseful, humorous, loving, loyality and held up with family ties. Held my interest from cover to cover. It was a super weekend read for me. Can't wait for the next book. I won an ebook of my choice from this Author.
