Clara has lost everything. Both parents, her family estate and the only home she's ever known. Forced to move, the last thing she wants, or expects, is to find herself torn between two men.
Lucas, the gorgeous cowboy, is a man of strength, a loyal protector and someone she knows she can rely on. Kellan, the sexy, brooding stranger, is a man of secrets with the power of persuasion. A man that quickly captivates her every thought.
Both men are determined to make her their own and neither will let her go without a fight. Clara will have to surrender her body and soul to one sooner than later.
Oh my goodness this book was definitely HOT in all the right places...I love Clara, Lucas & Kellan...but if i had to choose between the two guys i would definitely choose Kellan for sure...I would like to take this time to thank the Author Adriana Hunter...Thank you for doing what you do for us Readers...will definitely be back to read more :)
The kindest thing I could say about this book was that it was rather short.
Bad writing style, odd use of word choices leading to confusion over setting, language too modern in places for the historical setting, LOTS OF CONFUSION OVER WHAT THE HISTORICAL SETTING WAS (see status update notes), head-hopping, unsexy sex scenes, awkward characterization. Also, the cover made me think it was going to be a m/f/m menage book. It's not.
Not recommended.
* Not rated because I had to force myself to read what I could of it and "did not like it" was far too mild for me.
This was a quick read and I liked it, but it could have been better. I enjoyed that it was written during a much earlier era. I enjoyed the pull between Kellan and Clara. I enjoyed the overall story line but I felt like something was missing. Although I didn't love this book, I plan to read more by Adriana Hunter because I've heard good things about her writing. I've got other books by her on my TBR and I look forward to seeing what else she has to offer. I give this book an overall rating of 3.5 stars.
I have a love-hate among Adriana, due some of their books are amazing... and others, just fair good or pretty short. But, lately, they're coming better and better.
