In a world of darkness where royal vampires are in charge, I spend my days working as a knight in the city formerly known as London. Instead of a lance and a horse, I rely on my trusty axe, Babe, and ride the occasional dragon. Every day new threats emerge that require a dash of magic and a dollop of attitude.Good thing I have both.
Naturally danger comes with the territory. What no one knows is just how dangerous it is for me. If our vampire overlords discover what I am, they’ll execute me on the spot—no questions asked—which is why I avoid them at all costs.
Until now.
If only this one didn’t have a lethal reputation, a princely pedigree, and a quest that leads to more questions than answers. The heat between us doesn’t help matters.
Unfortunately I can’t refuse a royal command, so I’m stuck until the job is complete.
And even if the job doesn’t kill me, the truth just might.

Midnight Empire Complete Series in the Midnight Empire: The Tower
Three women who are trying to survive in a world gone dark will have to come together and use their powers that will change the world as they know it. These compelling tales take us on a journey that not everyone will survive as they fight to bring the world back into the light.
Annabel weaves a tangled web that is an engrossing read. I loved all the stories but was a little disappointed with how it all ended. I wanted more and was sadly left with more questions than answers, but it is still a 4-star read.
Enjoyed the series. Hard to put down. However, the idealistic, romantic part of me feels let down by the ending. I didn’t want certain characters to stay dead, and I wanted to read about how the world adjusted once again. One or two more chapters would have been great, one final book even better. So ended the book feeling a bit disappointed.
This series follows three women who will change the course of the world with their combined unique magical talents. Each of them have learned to rely upon their instincts and hide the true depths of their powers whilst battling to survive in a world without the sun. Their individual stories are compelling reading, culminating with their joined forces in a quest to restore sunlight to the Earth and not everyone will end up with the HEA that they deserve. There is plenty of action throughout this series and the characters are well written. However, I was disappointed with the ending - after reading 10 books there were too many loose ends that needed tying up, perhaps as an extended epilogue. I would have liked to know if all the different species ended up co-operating within the New World and how everyone adjusted. Also some info could have been provided on the future of the three heroines - London; Britt and Aster – as they deal with the outcome of their quest. Completion of the HEA’s would have been a nice way to end the series.
A beautifully told adventure of strong women, good friends and hot love interests. All wrapped in quirky humor. I can't wait to explore more from this author
