A summer romance for one, please!

One summer. An island resort escape. Solitude to banish the demons in my past.

What begins as a chance meeting on a beach during sunset turns into the most romantic, life-changing five weeks I could ever dream up with two of the most amazing men I’ve ever met. The end of summer comes all too soon and we’re forced to part ways, though we promise to keep in touch.

Fate isn’t letting this be the end, though. The start of the new school year finds me on Alka’s soccer team. We’re not sure whether to celebrate being together again or hide our forbidden relationship.

As it turns out, the decision might not be up to us - Alka receives an anonymous email with an ultimatum - kick me off the team or they’re going to expose our relationship to the Dean.

Crea lives in upstate New York with her dog and husband. She has been writing since grade school, when her second grade teacher had her class keep writing journals. She has a habit of creating secondary, and often time tertiary, characters that take over her stories. When she can't fall asleep at night, she thinks up new scenes for her characters to act out. This, of course, is how most of her meant-to-be-thrown-away characters tend to end up front and center - and utterly swoon-worthy! Don't ask her how many book boyfriends she has...

When not writing, Crea is an avid reader. Her TBR pile is several hundred books high (don't even look at her kindle wish list or the unread books on her tablet). Sometimes, she enjoys crafting; sometimes, exploring nature; sometimes, traveling. Mostly, she enjoys putting her characters on paper and breathing life into them. Oh, and sleeping. Crea loves to sleep!

Definitely love the poly books in the Creaverse more than anything else!

I loved these three together and the way their relationship progressed. I would have liked to see more of them settled into their life together though.

Now that I've got the hang of all the crossovers and appearances, I really enjoy when characters I know pop up.

I love (almost) everything Cerea Reitan writes and will read every book as soon as I have it. This series however has not been my favorite. The first one, I seriously disliked on of the mc’s. And although I really like the mc’s in this book this book felt a bit superficial. It’s not that we don’t see the relationship start, but so many days and big conversations seem to be skipped. I see Alka fall in love with Ruby, but not the other way around. And Oscar and Ruby just start without any development it feels.
Also: if they talk about specifics when it concerned Ruby’s school, why not mention the school (or at least town) where Alka works? Ruby had no clue where they lived? That was very unrealistic.

Other than that it was a great and typical Crea book. I’d definitely recommend and I will probably also reread

If Crea writes it, I will read it!

I am so so so happy that Roux finally got his happy ending.

I loved reading how the relationship between Roux and Alka developed while they were on Kala. Oscar was also able to form a connection with Roux towards the end of the summer which I think really benefited their dynamic.

They run into some issues when they return to reality. Unbeknownst to all of them they end up in the same town and Roux ends up on the soccer team Alka coaches at RDU. Because of this they are faced with some challenges. The three of them handle the issues together. In the end Roux got his happy ending that he so deserved, Alka got his second love, and Oscar got to see his husband so happy and got his second love too.

I can’t wait for the next RDU book, really any book in the Creaverse!

This is a very Reitan book - just a more boring version.

Why? It's silly of me, but I feel like it's true, so I need to acknowledge this: I really enjoyed one book by Reitan. I mean, it really checked a lot of boxes, some maybe I didn't even know I had, and that kind of magic is hard to find. It was great and amazing. Which is why I've been chasing it ever since.

It's not the first time this happened - author is not everything and people can write different things - what I mean is that I no longer believe you can just find the author and devour all their books, expecting to like them equally but it's something of a hard lesson and I did this to other series/authors before - got so caught up with a specific work until anything else wasn't doing it for me. It's an unfortunate situation disturbing the natural flow - instead of slowly climbing up the ladder and let's say "falling in love" with someone's style slowly and over time, you found that one Best and now every other book has it as a competition.

To be fair, I did feel that magic with other books but I might be a bit harsher on other books just because I feel like I know know Reitan's "best" and this wasn't it. Which is BS, I am sure some people clicked more with this so...

What I am trying to say is that this was okay to the point of boring - Reitan has her magic but she also has her... well, there are things about her style that I don't like and are present to some extent in all(?) of her books. And suddenly the good parts have to outweigh those flaws as well.

The main flaw of this book (for me) was the choreography of it all. Thing just fall into place and I don't mean in a good way. I miss some tension I could actually believe and get behind. It's kind of funny because I already read the original trio (Creed, Jakub... someone) and I also felt surprisingly underwhelmed. I'd absolutely say I would like the trio book more than a traditional couple but that wasn't the case here at all. The For You series was an utter mess and I had to quit it during the first book because of the overabundance of super drama and toxic emotional mess.

I miss some kind of balance - For You was too much for me and this was too little - they met, they talked, they liked each other... everything fell into place and it was so... yeah, it was okay but it wasn't exciting. It was barely interesting enough to continue. I was pleasantly surprised to see most of the story happened outside the university which is the focus of this series but once we came there, the plot decided to make a last effort at friction. It didn't need up well. I can't decide if everything and everyone was too perfect and I never felt the main characters were threatened (boooooring) or if I just disliked the sudden need to inject some nastiness into a book that was so placid and easy-going for so long.

Look, consent is sexy. Talking about limits and future and dreams and finding compromise and understanding is sexy. This book didn't quite make it to that point - it was so polite it was making me sleepy. (I did go to sleep and picked it up the next day, to be honest 😅.) It's one of those complaints that don't seem fair - the book "didn't do anything" but I still feel like I had problems with it and I feel silly just justifying my almost-negative opinion. I wasn't necessarily actively dissatisfied but every Reitan book has "Want to See More?" at the end and I just instantly went "gosh, no, I don't" with a bit more feeling than strictly necessary 😅.

I skipped Colide for this exact reason so maybe I should have done it here? The hope is what getcha, I tell ya. Lower expectations are always a better policy when going into a book.

I will also mention the preaching is back. Some author can get away with giving their characters opinions (their own opinions) and it makes it realistic and gives them depth and extra passion. Anytime the topic shifts to something regarding sexuality or LGBTQAI?+++++... or actually anything regarding society, I feel like I should get some ad message or "here comes TedX" warning. The scenes get repetitive, they're long-ish, they feel disconnected from the plot like someone took a random internet rant and put it in there. These conversations also happened between people who are "on the same side" and have the same opinions so it's also preaching... to the choir. Not to mention I am a reader who picked up this book because of the queer-positivty so I am not sure why I am a good audience for what feels like a lecture - I agree with 90% of what's said - like some mix of stating the obvious and unnecessary exposition.

I will absolutely continue hoping and reading Reaitan but this book was more of a miss than hit for me.

When I picked up *Volley*, I thought I was in for just another summer romance. But what I discovered was so much more, it’s a heartfelt journey of love, self-discovery, and the tightrope walk between passion and peril.

Set against the backdrop of a stunning island resort, the story pulls you in from the very first page. The serene beach at sunset where Roux’s life takes an unexpected turn is vividly brought to life through the author’s story telling.
It’s there where he encountered two remarkable men who would change his perspective on love forever. Their charm and chemistry added depth to an already intoxicating summer of escapes and stolen moments.

As the weeks blurred by, what began as a light-hearted escape morphed into a life-altering experience, filled with laughter, intimacy, and a connection that he didn’t think was possible.

The author does a phenomenal job of portraying the complexity of emotions that can arise during a summer fling, ultimately leaving them with a sense of longing when the season came to an end.

Reuniting with Alka and Oscar should have been a dream come true.
However, the magic of those summer days turned into a turbulent challenge as they navigated the consequences of their rekindled connection. The duality of joy and fear that accompanied their forbidden relationship had me turning the pages on my kindle, especially when an anonymous email threatened to expose the truth.
Talk about intense!

What I loved most was how *Volley* displayed the resilience of love against external pressures. Alka’s struggle to balance his relationship with his responsibilities left me at the edge of my seat. The tension fortified the bond they all shared, but it also highlighted the struggle that they faced in maintaining secrecy.
I found myself rooting for their relationship, wishing for the world to accept the beautiful and complicated love they had created.

The author skillfully explores themes of identity, acceptance, and the weight of personal history. My heart ached for Alka, Oscar and their Ruby as they grappled with the threat of exposure and the burden of Roux’s past demons. With each page, I felt the author's unique ability to encapsulate emotion, and her insight kept me deeply engaged throughout the story.

In conclusion, Crea Reitan's *Volley* is not just a summer romance, but a gripping exploration of love in all its forms. Its heartwarming moments are balanced beautifully with tension and uncertainty, making it a compelling read that I won’t soon forget.

I love how this world just keeps growing… it encompasses “Van Doren’s” and “For Puck Sake” series. Things pop up that have you wanting to reread certain books. This world just makes me smile, and I hope it continues for a long time.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a story that captures the essence of love and the tangled paths we often tread.

Volley by Crea Reitan was actually my very first MMM romance, and I was surprised by how much I ended up loving it. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve already gone back to start reading the rest of the series featuring these characters. Roux, Alka, and Oscar were an absolute joy to read, each of them brought something unique and engaging to the story, and their dynamic was both fun and emotionally satisfying.

Oscar and Alka have been together for over a decade and are now married, sharing a deeply loving and healthy relationship. They’ve built their connection on open communication, always checking in with each other about their feelings, life changes, and evolving desires. They’re in an open marriage, something that works for them because of the trust and understanding they’ve nurtured over the years. Alka has so much love to give and has always dreamed of being with two men. Oscar not only supports that dream, he genuinely wants it for him. His happiness is deeply tied to Alka’s, and it shows in the way they care for and prioritize each other.

Roux is focused on starting fresh, spending time alone on Kala, transferring colleges, and trying to move forward with his life. That’s when he meets Alka, and their connection is instant. But things really heat up when sparks start flying between Roux and Alka’s husband, Oscar. The chemistry between them is intense and unlike anything Alka has ever experienced with past partners. The bond they all share feels natural and electric, and instead of walking away, the three of them decide to stay in touch and take a chance on a long-distance relationship.

Roux’s college transfer is approved at the last minute after he gets back from Kala island, and when he shows up for his first soccer practice… his new coach turns out to be his boyfriend!

Watching Roux step into his confidence and begin to release the weight of his past was absolutely beautiful. Seeing Alka’s lifelong dream finally come true, and watching him embrace his deepest desires, was honestly breathtaking. And Oscar, with his steady, gentle love and unwavering care for the two men in his life, brought such warmth and heart to the story. It all came together in the most satisfying way, making Volley an absolute joy to read.

We also get a visit from familiar faces from Collide (book one in the series), which made it even more special.

Summer Lovin’, had me a BLAST. I really have been enjoying this series by Crea Reitan and this book was just as hot and spicy as the last. I really liked this because not only was it an MM book, but it involved a polyamorous relationship. I haven’t read many stories like this so I really like the change. This is a story where there is an established married couple on vacation and a great smexy time island and they meet a younger college guy that falls easily into the relationship with these two. This book probably won’t be for everyone because not only is it poly and MMM, but it also involves an age gap and a relationship between a coach and player. I really enjoyed the chemistry between all three of these men and I thought the little bit of angst dealing with the forbidden relationship gave a little extra to the story. And like any good poly relationship, these men face the issues that challenge their relationship together.

I was so happy to see Roux finding these two men that made him happy. I felt for him reading about past relationships where he wasn’t treated the way he should. But then he finds Alka, and watching the relationship between these two develop was just so sweet. I love Alka and not only the way he interacted with Roux, but also his relationship with Oscar. Alka was the lynchpin in this relationship and he has so much love to give. He is perfect in his relationship with both men separately and together. My favorite though may be Oscar. He is a strong, dominant man. While he doesn’t completely dominate Alka, he tends to be the more dominate of the two. But I was just so happy when he got super excited for Alka when he started seeing Roux. He has a real love for his husband, and it creates such a strong relationship.

This series is such a spicy, fun, sweet series and I really enjoyed this book showing such wonderful poly representation. It felt very well done and a more realistic relationship with an open marriage, but a connection between all three. There are some amazing spicy scenes, whether between two of the men or all three. This was an enjoyable book and another good one in this MM series. It’s a great one for people looking for a good poly story and a spicy age gap.

"He’s just… He’s perfect for me. For us." - Alka

"I’ve never before had the sense of rightness fall over me with anyone outside of my husband." - Oscar

"I didn’t realize that feeling so alone was possible when being surrounded by so many people." - Roux

Oscar and Alka have an open marriage, Alka has so much love, and he has always wanted two men, and Oscar wants that for him; he wants his husband to have everything he wants. They have a very loving and healthy relationship; they talk a lot about their feelings and changes in their life and mindset. They've been together for a decade and are married. Roux (Ruby) has an ex that was toxic/abusive and that left scars, but it feels different with Alka & Oscar, Roux just fits with them. They can all be themselves and help each other heal. There is just so much love, trust and open conversations that are very important in any type of relationship (to always continue to work on themselves and their relationship, there is room to grow together). Roux finally has a loving, stable, healthy relationship!!! They deserve each other! There was more of a slower burn between Oscar & Roux, which gave me enough time to get to know the characters and their personalities. The pacing felt right, and it was easy to understand.

This book talks a lot about topics (different relationships, children, marriage, Oscar making spicy videos and how he sees that in the future) and different sides of them; it's so fun to learn while reading. I also love that a good amount of this book is spent on Kala (a LGBTQIA+ resort), so it's more focused on building a connection and having fun, and that the school and work life were later in the book. Of course the environment changed, and they had to find their way in that, but they already had a connection/foundation and felt safe enough to talk to each other about all the changes. I really love this college and how it's set up, it feels free and loving.

"Forever starts now." - Alka

Although this isn’t the first Crea Reitan book I’ve read, it was the first of the Rainbow Dorset University series for me.

I’ve loved each of the books I’ve read of Crea’s so far but I’m not quite sure I can say I loved this one as much, which made it more of a 3.5 star read for me.

I really liked each of the main characters and enjoyed seeing how their relationship slowly progressed after their first meeting. The honesty Alka showed Roux from the start about his relationship status and what he was looking for was really good to see. But even though there were some pretty big conversations had between Alka, Roux and Oscar about the way they each felt and how they each hoped things would progress between the 3 of them when they returned to their lives, I really struggled with the fact that they never seemed to have the conversation about where Alka and Oscar lived. I know this was probably to show how you can easily be caught up in the moment, especially when you’ve finally found what you’ve always been hoping for, but I just found it to be slightly unrealistic.

That being said, I did enjoy the story between the 3 of them. Alka was very patient with Roux and allowed him to decide how he wanted the relationship to develop between them, making it clear it was up to him how Oscar was included into the mix. I was so pleased when Roux decided he wanted to build something with the both of them, making the relationship between the 3 of them pretty perfect.

After returning to reality and the miscommunication between them, there were definitely some challenges that needed to be faced. I loved the support Alka and Oscar received from their friends the minute they found out what was going on and the way in which the 3 of them were able to handle the issues together showed that they were definitely made for each other.

Overall, I would still recommend this to anyone looking for an easy read, MMM romance and even though this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me, I will definitely still be reading the other books in this series.

Roux finally gets his happy ending! When we met Roux he had escaped a very abusive relationship. He’s been healing for a while now and before he gets back to college (hopefully at a new school), he needs some time to himself. He heads to Kala for the summer. And he never expects to find not one but two loves of his life. Alka has always known that he was meant to love two men. His heart is big enough for it. He found Oscar first. They’ve been together ten years and couldn’t be happier. And Oscar has always supported Alka’s search for another partner to add to their family. But lately Alka has felt like giving up. Perhaps he won’t find that other person. But Oscar still encourages him to try. In doing so, Alka meets Roux or has Roux calls himself on Kala, Ruby. They spend the summer together getting to know one another and when Oscar is drawn to Ruby as well, the three of them know that this is what they’ve been searching for all along. And even when the summer ends, they promise this isn’t the end. They’ll make the long distance work. But all are surprised when Roux heads to RDU and learns his new soccer coach is Alka. Things are about to be a little complicated. Great story with these three! I loved how natural their relationship progressed between the three of them. Roux found two men who will love him exactly as he is and who he can give his love back in return. Alka finally found another person to love who accepts him and Oscar and the life they share. And even more sweet was Oscar and Roux falling in love too. Oscar never felt strongly about Alka’s past boyfriends. He never expected that he could find another person to love how he loves Alka. It was just really sweet to see these three men fall for one another and plan the future they’ve always wanted. Another great addition to this series and world! Can’t wait for more!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Lucky Shot is my favorite book that Crea has ever written, 2nd to Loren. Something about Noah & Lix had me and I still think about them a year later. With that being said I fell in love with Roux too. I wanted him to get the HEA he deserved. He was so broken, so lonely. I just wanted to wrap him up and never let him go. When Alka & Oscar were first introduced in the For Your Time series I was curious about them. I always wondered who their partner would end up being. I never imagined it would be Roux. However, I am so here for them. The sweet summer romance Alka shared with Roux was so dang cute. Add in Oscar towards the end of the summer and I was a goner. Something about the characters from For Your Love series and now Rainbow Dorset University just sets me at ease. I loved reading more about Quin, Simon, Declan, Sage, Damon and Zarek. I loved seeing Zvi, Vulcan and their men/family. The Creaverse is just so wholesome and feels like coming home.

So happy Ruby got his happy ending. Alka and Oscar found their forever man. ♥

4.5 stars Ruby/Roax got spoiled by his brother Lix, who takes care of him in every way, he’s a newly retired, pro ice hockey player and earns more than enough money to make Ruby’s life easier.
After a bad relationship, Ruby is tired of looking over his shoulder. Change of place has to do.
First, he will have a six-week holiday at the Isle of Kala, after that, he hopes to attend Rainbow Dorset University.

Oscar is a confident person, confident in his job as an adult content creator, and confident with the love of his life, his husband Alka. They love each other deeply. Watching them together is pure joy!

Alka is polyamorous, a part of him is always waiting to give himself to another second. Nothing is certain if it will ever happen. At some point, he gave up.

Meeting Ruby on the Isle of Kala, was luck… fate… destiny? It was certainly magical.

The weeks flew by and Ruby started a relationship with both Alka and Oscar. They just fit perfectly.
All three want to continue what they have and are happy about that. Even if it has to be a long distance.

The universe thought it was fun to throw them some complications.
Alka is the soccer trainer at Rainbow Dorset University… coaching Ruby’s team!!

It’s a widely written narrative, entertaining for sure, sweet at times, harsh at times, but mostly mature, kind, with spice and an excellent dose of romance.
The pace is slow, there are a lot of characters involved, still, the three of them are consistently highlighted.
Their polyamorous relationship worked just fine!
Overall it was an entertaining experience!

Yes, we finally got Roux's book, and I was so excited for it. The author did not disappoint! We are back on Kala, and we've been there a few times now, but we get to see a fair bit more of different parts of the island as we see not only the part where Roux is staying, but also where Alka and Oz are staying as well.

For those that don't remember Roux, he is Lix's brother who Lix went to help after a toxic relationship, and he got a little more help from the Van Doren's, well, one in particular, who we all know and love. We've also met Alka and Oz before and seen a little of their relationship, but I love the fact that we got to see more of it. There are so many crossovers between the series, and I loved every minute of it.

So we have Roux who is running from his abusive past and wants to find himself, Alka who is poly along with his husband, Oz, who while desperate to find his third is slowly giving up, and Oz who as we know is a sex worker but even he is starting to question where he wants his future to take him. Three different characters who complement each other so perfectly. They enjoy their time on Kala and want to see more of each other, to make a future together, but things don't exactly go to plan when Roux turns up at the very school where Alka is the coach of the soccer team.

I just want to mention the fact we also briefly got to see Vulcan, okay, we see a fair few of the characters from different series, but Vulcan always holds a special place in my heart. I love the big, sparkly teddy bear.

Loved every page, and managed it in one sitting cause I just couldn't stop turning the pages. Kudos to the author for keeping me hooked from start to finish.

I’ve come to really enjoy Crea Reitan’s books, and Volley was no exception. One of the things I love most about her writing is how she includes so much wisdom around LGBTQIA+ themes and different kinds of relationships. Whether it’s couples, throuples, polyamory, or open relationships—she always handles it with care and insight. It never feels forced or exaggerated.

In Volley, Alka and Oscar are married but have an open relationship. Oscar works as a porn actor and Alka is a soccer coach. They’re both used to seeing other men, but this time Alka wants something more. He’s ready to add a third man to their marriage—he just has that much love to give.

Things get interesting when they meet someone on vacation. They both feel a connection and are open to exploring it. But once they’re back home, they discover that the man is actually a player on Alka’s soccer team. That creates some serious complications, especially with the coach-player dynamic.

The story itself is pretty calm and light, even though there’s a lot happening under the surface. I liked that it didn’t rely on over-the-top drama. What I didn’t love, though, is how much happened behind closed doors. So many emotional moments were skipped or only mentioned, and I missed that deeper development between the characters. I wanted to see their bond grow, not just be told it did.

Something that always makes me happy in this universe is running into familiar characters from earlier books. It makes the world feel full and connected, like I’m catching up with old friends. I love that sense of continuity.

This is a slow burn, slow paced MMM romance between Roux, Alka, and Oscar. Oscar and Alka are in an open marriage and Alka is actively looking for a boyfriend, Oscar is finding his satisfaction in hooking up and making videos for his OnlyFans. They meet Roux, who is 20 years younger than both Oscar and Alka, which is not mentioned until the end of the book, we just know there has to be an age gap due to Roux being a student on soccer team, and Alka being the coach.
I usually love Crea Reitan books, Shiver is one of my all time favorite books, but this one is rambling and wordy, with too many very detailed descriptions of the wrong things and not enough details about the right things. For instance there is almost no descriptions of the characters. Are the brunette or blonde? Or even black, white, asian? Are they fit? Who knows?
This is a fictional book, but everything was so easy, even the controversy at the end was easy. The letter at the end was over the top cheesy and didn't need to be included.
I'm going to keep up with this series because I love Van Doren and For Puck's Sake.
The spicy scenes in this one are spicy, unfortunately there are only a few scenes. I'm giving it 🌶🌶🌶3/5 chilies on the spicy scale.
The guys get a very HEA. There was no epilogue, just a bonus scene from the following summer before Roux's next year at university.

I listened to the audiobook and it was amazing! 1 of the stars of my 2 star rating are because the audiobook was so good. The narrators are perfect!

This book started strong.

I love them meeting in that close proximity way on Kala Island, then that new relationship feel of getting to know someone, even the adding a third was sweet and exciting, but once they got back to reality it started feeling like a bit PSA-y for polyamory relationships and sex positive for adult content creators. Most likely that was what the author wanted to achieve, but I also didn't want to be taken out of the story like that.

So for me, the last 1/3 of the story became a chore because there was so much to work out, Alka coming clean to the school about his relationship with Ruby, Oscar figuring out what to do with his content creating now that he's thinking about kids. Ruby dealing with that abusive ex.

Spice... was 2. There's a scene where they all get together which is creative, but overall this book did not feel that spicy to me, as they took it a bit slow to get to know each other, like Alka and Ruby was not hooking up, they were in it to get to know each other, so it was not spicy for most of the part while they got to know each other.

As always reading Crea's book requires like a murder map of who is connected to who, I always seem to get lost in the cast, and honestly I just let it go and don't try to figure out who is connected to who or who has a story or not.

All in all, I enjoyed reading this book for what it was, but I'm not sure I'd read it again, hence the middle rating.

Endearing, heartwarming, fun

Alka, Oscar, and Roux weave story of love that is seen as taboo by most; Alka a college soccer coach, Oscar an adult content creator, and Roux a college student recovering from an abuser and starting over. Alka and Oscar are happily married but Alka has always known that he was meant to love more than one person but after many failures he has given up looking. That is until he sees Roux walking on the beach in front of his bungalow on the Isle of Kala. Roux is in the midst of an existential crisis. He is trying to heal from his former abuser, figure what he wants, and trying to make sense of the world.

As Kala weaves it's magic around the three men they find themselves bonding together. Then they return to the 'real world' thinking they are destined for a long distance relationship. Fate brings them together in the same town, same college, and same team. They face some challenges as their relationships develop at Rainbow Dorset University but in the end all 3 find their happily ever after.

Crea Reitan does an amazing job on this book while addressing several subjects that are controversial, taboo, or possibly triggering. The characters are so real, they jump off the page into the reader's imagination. Read this delicious book, fall in love with these 3 men and Crea Reitan's writing.

I read book 1 of the Rainbow Dorset University series and wonder just how Ms. Reitan could possibly top that funny and romantic storyline. Well she did so in book two, Volley, at least in this reader's humble opinion. OH MY, I laughed and smiled throughout this heartwarming, emotional book. The characters felt like they had been friends of mine forever. I hurt when they did and soared with them as well. The storyline is well written with lots of love, laughs, hot scenes and a bit of sad drama to deal with as well, but oh did those times help make the storyline shine.

Watching Roux come into his own and letting go of his past torment was simply glorious. Watching Alka finally find his dream since he was a little boy come true and fulfill his deepest fantasies was breathtaking and watching gentle, amazing care for the two men in his life, well it simply rounded out this delightful read. I can’t recommend Volley enough. We even see old friends from, Collide, book 1 of the series. While the books don’t have to be read in order, I highly suggest it. They are both fantastic.

2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars

Volley ARC Review:

Roux, Alka, and Oscar 💚

A summer romance that turns into a relationship all three want to make work is a bit harder after real life complications come to light when the college year starts up. Alka, Oscar, and Roux balance how to be honest to those around them and protect each other.

I loved witnessing these three men fall for each other. Their conversations are so important to making sure their relationship has foundations to last their lifetimes, and are as heart warming as they are funny. Roux opening up to Alka and Oscar about what he went through in his previous relationship, and seeing how angry they get with ‘Trevor’ all while showing Roux support, was just what he needed. Oscar’s way of wanting to make a change in the world was not only what roux needed, but is work that is important! Roux, Alka, and Oscar are lovely together and I am happy to have read their romance!

I always enjoy seeing how Crea’s world connects in timelines and with characters that appear, and Volley kept up that excitement for me. I am thrilled for where this series is going.

4.5/5 🌟

I still need to go back and read Lucky Shot (and the other early books in the For Puck's Sake series), but this book definitely makes me want to do that asap. I have read the first Rainbow Dorset U book and it gave some glimpses into the lives of the MCs for this book - Roux, Oscar, and Alka, so I was definitely intrigued! This is a MMM books with a married couple in an open marriage (Alka + Oscar) who then bring in a third (Ruby/Roux). Some complications arise from this in the later part of the book because Roux is a student and Alka is a coach at the same university. However, before it gets to that point, Roux and Alka meet at a resort (Kala) and get to know each other while frolicking during their vacation. I love this author develops their relationship and the joy Oscar expresses over his husband's happiness. I would have liked to have seen more of Oscar and Roux's emotional development, but I'm glad it does happen. As is typical in this author's books, there are lots of conversations, lots of spice, and cameos from this and other series! I always enjoy this author's books and look forward to the next RDU book.

While this book is definitely a standalone, it’s apparent that there are a lot of relationships and connections made in prior books. It isn’t offputting, though - the opposite! It makes me want to catch up on everyone!

I really enjoyed this book. The way Roux and Alka meet and just so easily and naturally connect was lovely. Then to his surprise, Oscar also connects with Roux. I just adored watching their relationship grow. The heavy focus on communication and honesty was perfect. They don’t always have the easiest time of it, but they support the hell out of each other through it. The majority of the friends, family, and colleagues are wonderful and each brings their own unique perspective and contribution to the throuple and the story. I wish RDU was real!! This book is definitely going into my reread pile.

I think his expression might mirror my own as we stare at each other, unable to look away. Does he feel the way ribbons circle us? Tying us together? Making him an irrevocable part of me?

The happy ending we've all been waiting for, for Roux. Roux has been a developing character who we've seen have personal growth and take the times he needs to heal. He goes on vacation for the summer and he finds what he never expected.

Enter Alka and Oscar. These two men are happily married, but Alka has always had a draw to love to men and knew that was how things were supposed to be. Oscar has always supported this. These 3 men spend the summer exploring and learning about each other. When summer is over, none of them want it to be the end.

When Roux arrives back home, he soon learns that his new soccer coach is none other than one of men he spend the summer in a relationship with. This is when things get complicated and boy is it a ride.

I'm so glad these men got their chance at happiness and fought their way to their happily ever after. Alka got his second love, Oscar got something he never expected, and Roux got his perfect ending.

I received an advance review copy, and this is my honest review.

Another great Crea book and I enjoyed reading about the Isle of Kala and the Rainbow Dorset university again. This a sweet polygamous story with reasonable low angst. porn star Oskar and soccer coach alka have been married for ten years but have always had an open marriage as Alka has always felt he has got love for two people but haven't found the right person. every summer they spend an extended time on the Isla of Kala. Alka has come to the conclusion that maybe he won't meet another person and they start discussing children. But then he meets Roux/Ruby who has come to spend six weeks to try and find himself after an abusive relationship. One day Alka and Ruby meet and there's an instant connection. They start meeting every day and soon involve Oskar too and it's clear they have something special. They failed to mention where Alka works and what university Ruby is transferring to so imagine the shock when Ruby turns up to the first practice. They are happy but it takes some working around some obstacles. This was a great story.

Absolutely LOVE this book!

Two characters we’ve met in earlier books finally get their HEA—and I’ve been waiting for this one! Alka is already married, but he’s always known he’d have two husbands. Roux, Lix’s brother, has appeared in a few stories and has had a rough past with a controlling and abusive ex (you find out what happens to him in Loren).

Now, Roux is trying to move forward, spending time alone on Kala and making a fresh start—including transferring colleges. That’s when he meets Alka, and the more time they spend together, the more sparks fly—especially between Roux and Alka’s husband, Oscar. Their chemistry is undeniable, and unlike anything Alka has experienced with past boyfriends. The three decide to stay in touch and give a long-distance relationship a shot.

Then—surprise! Roux’s college transfer goes through at the last minute, and when he shows up to his first soccer practice… his coach is his boyfriend!

Such a fun, emotional, and satisfying read. Loved seeing how their story unfolded. Highly recommend!

I loved these three! Roux’s first experience with love was so much less than ideal, and I loved that he finally got his HEA. While he was young, he was still hoping for a love story, and he sought it out.

Alka and Oscar were so great together, but Oscar knew that Alka had so much love left to give, and was looking for another partner. I love how supportive he was.

When Alka found Roux, or Ruby, on the beach, their connection was almost instant. They took things slowly, and built that connection, and then brought Oscar into the fold. Even Oscar was smitten with Ruby though, Over the next several weeks all three men continued to build on this amazing bond that they have built, with plans to continue once they’re all home.

They believe things will be long distance for a bit, however Roux’s transfer goes through, and suddenly he’s at RDU - the same school that Alka is a soccer coach at. All of a sudden they have another issue on their hands!

Despite a chaotic school year, the three get their happily ever after.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

I read Volley by @creareitan and I couldn’t wait to read Roux, Alka and Oscar’s story after reading Collide (I had been waiting for Roux to find his HEA since Lucky Shot)!

I loved the first half of this story while they were on summer vacation, seeing such a healthy poly relationship, they both understood exactly what their partner needs and wants were and their communication was stellar.

Watching Alka and Roux meet was just the sweetest and then develop organically into a relationship with Oscar was beautiful. They built such a strong foundation, only leaving out a few key details which lead to the events in the second half of the story.

They had to work hard when they returned back to their lives, circumstances placing them in difficult positions. I definitely agreed that in this story honestly may not have been the best policy given the events that resulted in that.

I loved that despite everything they faced, their relationship and love only grew stronger, they supported each other and made decisions together.

I loved the way previous stories and characters are intertwined throughout Crea’s story. I adore her universe and cannot wait to see who is next!

I always love reading Crea Reitan's books. Just unique, intriguing characters with vast backgrounds and experiences that show that all types of relationships are beautiful, even if they are considered 'unconventional'.

I love the interconnected universe that she has created. I was so happy to hear that Roux was getting a book after all the hell he's gone through, and happy to hear that Alka was finally getting his second man he always wished for after the rejection from Declan.

There was so much in this book: open marriages, adult content characters and how they deal with that as a profession and having a family, trauma from domestic violence and so much more. All of it was so well written and dealt with so beautifully. It was so nice to see Roux be appreciated and loved.

I will always recommend Crea's work to anyone who will keep listening to me! Can't wait to see what else is to come.

I have rarely read a book about a love triangle that was so well written.

Alka and Oscar are a wonderful couple. Their empathy for each other and the way they communicate is extraordinary.

Roux took my heart by storm. I longed for him to find his place and he is perfect for Alka. Crea takes a lot of time for the background stories of her three MMCs and allows the relationships to develop gently. Nevertheless, there is no shortage of spice. In Alka and Oscar we have an established couple and Oscar is a very resourceful adult content creator!

In the first half of the book, Crea takes us into the beautiful world of a tropical luxury LGBTQIA+ resort. The second half is set at Rainbow Dorset University. A paradise for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. But even in paradise, dark clouds can gather…

Volley is highly recommended! The book is emotional and yet very exciting. I love it.

I love the whole idea of Rainbow Dorset University it just gives you all the happy vibes. This book just keeps you smiling I loved watching these three fall in love with each other. Roux has struggled with relationships, and his past one has really taken a toll on him. Oscar and Alka have been married for a while, but Alka have been looking for their third for a long time and has almost given up. The story is a slow burn but absolutely perfect pace. These three really found happiness with each other. They each bring something different into the relationship but support each other fully. The story line was wonderful, you got angst, some drama but not with main characters and the steam was steamy. I love Crea Reitans writing and can't get enough of her books they are all so beautifully written with amazing emotional aspects. I can't wait to see where she goes next with this series. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Check CWs before reading

As with all Crea-verse books, this is another amazing story of love, acceptance and not being afraid to break societal norms to find your happily ever after.

I absolutely adored reading Roux's story, and I love that a lot of it came about due to true brotherly love on Lix's part. As always with Reitan's books, all her MM's connect in the one wider universe, and I loved that Roux's story connects back to events in Loren, as well as mentions of the For Your Love characters, and a sneaky-peak at Lemon's story (even though book wise, we've already read his tale). This truly plays out like the soap opera Reitan calls it in her foreword, and I am obsessed.

Alka and Oscar are just perfect. All three men complement each other so beautifully, and I love that it's a team effort to tackle any and all issues that appear during the narrative. They don't just brush things under the rug - they work hard to make things work, regardless of what the outcome may be, and they weren't afraid to talk about tough topics, such as adult-content work when talking of futures and families.

What stood out most for me in this one is that it was a truly organic development of the relationship between Roux and Alka, and then Oscar; it never once felt rushed, they took their time and slowly built up to the heat - but when the spice hit, holy smokes did Reitan bring it. The forbidden angle made it all that more delicious to read, and it definitely has you feeling the warm and fuzzies as you turn the pages.

Certainly looking forward to the next book from Reitan - seriously, there's not an MM-verse book of hers that I'm not obsessed with.

Thank you to the author for the eARC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.
