Get ready to roll... Kurt Ramchett went from Bantorus MC kid to unbeatable underground boxer to president of the Bantorus MC, Federal Charter. Dedicated and badass, Kurt's running guns for the militia and extending the Bantorus territory. He never expected to run into trouble in the form of a beautiful stripper his first night in Federal. Strong, smart, and sexy, Risa's the one woman who gains Kurt's respect at the deepest level. And, when Los Li threatens to take everything Kurt loves away from him, he'll do anything to make sure Risa remains safe. Staying in business is detrimental to rebuilding the destruction Risa inherited from her prostitute mother, currently serving life in prison for murder, and bettering her future. But, when the bossy biker with flame tattoos rides into Federal and tries to boss Risa into leaving his building, Risa fights dirty to keep her entertainment business open. She never expected she'd willingly give control over to the fierce biker. Maybe she's more like her mother than she imagined...

It seems like each new book in this series gets better and better in connecting me to the characters and the story. Kurt is one of the most appealing MC H's I have read. He is totally alpha, sexy, strong and possessive but at the same time he is rational, understanding and loyal. I liked the love story between Kurt/Risa and the sex scenes were pretty hot. Risa is trying to show her home town folks that she is not a prostitute, like her mother who is currently in prison. I never really understood why she thought public stripping with no follow through sex with men would redeem her in the eyes of the people in Federal. I also thought it was a little OTT for Risa to get slashed in the face, just like Kurt's step-mother Taylor from Soothing His Madness. But even so, I enjoyed the book. What I didn't like: Words out of context and more than just a few. Whoever edited the book did a pretty good job on grammar/formatting but there were words that totally threw the reader off i.e. "endured" vs. "endeared" - her actions endured her to me. I am looking forward to Lee's story as he continues to chase Los Li for revenge.

Seven years ago Kurt Ramchett bought a building in Federal, as well as an abandoned mining compound just outside of it. The plan had been for the young Bantorus MC member, to grow in seniority and build a new chapter in the Bitterroot Mountains when the time was right. Thirty-five and ready to lead the new Federal Charter as president, Kurt sets out with a small contingent of Bantorus members, only to find that his building, which should have been vacated, is being used as the place of business for the Silver Girls, a group of strippers under leadership of the gorgeous but unshakeable Risa.
Having grown up the daughter of a whore right here in Federal, branded Risa with a reputation before she was even able to walk. Cursed with a history she was not responsible for, Risa is determined to build a reputation of her own. One that does not involve spreading her legs for any man willing to pay. Instead, she and her girls put on a good show that is all about looking, but no touching allowed. When the big brute bikers walk into her establishment and threaten to take ownership, she sees all her best-laid plans turn to dust. She is going to have to fight hard to stay out her contract. Regardless of the owner's dominant ways.
After Kurt's initial irritation, having to adapt his plans for the building in Federal, he finds himself taken with the fiery, strong-willed and luscious Risa. A woman who is not afraid to play hardball when needed, but carefully conceals a vulnerable side he only catches glimpses of now and then. Taking on the responsibility of a new charter, building new business connections for his arms deals, and now taking on a woman he is starting to care for, along with her girls has him stretched to the limit. Especially with Los Li never far away to try and hit the Bantorus MC at their weakest areas.

YOWZA!!! A fresh new start!! A fan-FREAKIN-tastic one!!
My favorite Bantorus MC book yet! Somehow Debra Kayn has outdone herself with this one. Perhaps it is the obvious love she has for her new home at the base of the Bitterroot Mountains, where she relocated last summer. Her new generation Bantorus MC is based in a town similar to the one where Debra herself lives, and she has the pictures to prove it! All you have to do is go to her author page on Facebook to see what I mean. Her own experiences woven into the story, her love for the history of the town and the atmosphere come across so strongly, it permeates the story.
However, I never felt I was reading anything other than a Bantorus MC book, with all of its recognizable characters still there, simply a bit older. This is the new generation. Kurt, whom we still know as a teenager, is now a bona fide 'man'. Still a fighter, given a chance, but one with a huge heart, and a great sense of family love and loyalty. He has an inate need to make life better for those he loves.
Risa, of course, is new to us, as are her girls. A proud woman, who feels she lives in the shame her prostituting mother put on her. A mother who ended up in jail for murder, but whom she still visits, despite the less than attentive reception she gets. All out of a sense of duty on Risa's part. That's how focused she is on doing the 'right' thing, as opposed to doing what is 'right' for HER.
But Kurt knows...... He is perfect for Risa, with his character traits of wanting to do right by his loved ones, on top of his dominating character. Risa doesn't stand a chance at holding him off. Their chemistry is off the charts HOT and they demonstrate that everywhere, in bed, on the couch, against the wall, on a desk....... EVERYWHERE.
With the new town, the new charter, the new generation I am PUMPED for the new stories that are coming our way. HANDS DOWN five star read!!!
the h justification in being a stripper was ridiculous. How in the world did you think that stripping will help you to distance yourself from your mother reputation as a prostitute - that is just dumb.
The 5th book moved the new generation of Bantorus MC to a new place. I was expecting Kurt to be a leader since he was present in 3 stories prior to his own.
Kurt Ramchett went from Bantorus MC kid to unbeatable underground boxer to president of the Bantorus MC, Federal Charter.

And, when Los Li threatens to take everything Kurt loves away from him, he'll do anything to make sure Risa remains safe.
Risa was the perfect match for the quiet Kurt. I loved the new setting and the new generation coming up in a new place. It was great to see the previous characters coming to light after almost 20 years. I read about Kurt's upbringing in Slade and Taylor's story and now I got Risa's childhood. Risa trying to be anything else than her mother was great. We all grow up wanting to be or not like our parents and I found a kindred spirit in her. It was a great match. Kurt showed her that she is not her mother’s daughter and there's no need to prove anything to anybody. Life facts. I think this is what I love most about Drbra Kayn books. And Kurt, was a sweet, loving, tender guy, for a biker. Then again all Debra Kayn's bad guys are softies when it comes to their old ladies. I am looking forward to the next story.
Another great story & the changed location made sense but the time leap was disappointing for me. The earlier books were set "now" & the jump from 16 year old Kane to 35 year old Kane was a huge leap! Is it still "now"? It didn't spoil the story but there surely was gaps to fill in? That said Kane, Lee & all the earlier characters were there & the romance of Risa & Kurt was hot! So now it's on to the next book in the series..
I wasn’t sure how I felt about her fast forwarding through time and Kurt now being an adult and leader of federal but I absolutely loved it turned out better than I expected
I had to reread this book for Debra is one of my favorite authors that write hot alpha biker books. Another good read-waiting for Jett's story that's in her new series. love her books!
I was totally and completely blown away by Kurt's story. By far this was my absolute favorite read of Debra Kayn to date. Time has passed and this troubled boy has grown into a rough and tough sexy bossy and amazing man. From the moment he spoke and made his presence known I felt something different. Something has profoundly changed in this new chapter of Debra Kayn's electrifying characters. While she creatively mastered the best way to age these people that she created..she didn't leave me feeling like I had missed out on anything. Yes two decades have passed since Torque's book and I still feel like I was right there along side of them through it all. Kurt is making a new chapter for the Bantorus MC in the bitterroot mountains. An unexpected person has messed up his plans and uprooted his life though in the most sizzling way. Rissa is like no heroine I've ever read about. To erase her past and make herself known as the opposite of what everybody things she does the things that most people would think she's crazy for. But in her own way she was rebuilding herself and her reputation in the only way she felt was right. From the moment Kurt laid eyes on her ..in all her naked glory he felt a massive amount of possessiveness. I for a moment thought oh no how in the world could this relationship ever work with a alpha male like this who'd never let another man even think about looking or touching what's his..and... a stripper?? Someone who lets man after man look at her all they want? But somehow Debra made it work..for one thing, Rissa wasn't your average stripper. She did one show per month and it was more of a peep show than anything else..no touching ever. And after that first time...Kurt made it known he didn't want her ever taking her clothes off again. But things have to play out in a certain way...and there were some pretty suspenseful times in this story. I loved how much Kurt opened up and let Rissa in and also at the same time healed her and made her feel like for once she was good enough to be loved unconditionally. When he called her Angel , I melted and he was her man and she made him feel just as loved. He used his fists in the only way he could to let off steam and Rissa had to learn to be there..when the dust settled and to accept everything that came along with loving this hard core man. I adored every second and really can't convey in this peasley review how amazing a writer Debra Kayn is. She takes a story and she builds it up ..to a living breathing thing where you feel like you are in it and apart of it ..feeling and experiencing so many things right along with these amazing people she has created. I am in awe and I am addicted.
It is no secret that I fangirl like no other for Debra Kayn. If I come back in another life I want to be just like her. She is the sweetest, caring, unpretentious woman I have ever met. She treats her fans like family and always answers when someone posts anything. I might talk to her more than I do my real friends. :-) Ok enough fangirling! Though I do hope one day to stalk her in person...I mean meet her in person. I took extra long to read this book because I didn't want to miss anything & I didn't want it to end. July is waaaay to far away for the next book to be released in this series. Debra captured my heart from the dedication to her hubby: "Wheels Because of you, these books are never-ending. You and me. For a lifetime." Wow ~ really could that be any sweeter or filled with more love?!?! I want a Wheels of my own. Then she gives us Kurt & Risa. Kurt is all grown up and more man than I could ever dream possible. He is now President of the Bantorus Charter in Federal. He still has scars from when Los Li kidnapped his stepmom Taylor, but he is in control & has a plan. Then he meets Risa, as she does her strip tease bathtub routine, on Main Street. The fact that this is a true part of the story makes it even better. I love that on her Facebook and Web Page that she shows us the actual places. It gives more depth to the story with the history and pictures of actual places. He knows then he wants her and no one else. I love Risa ~ she is running from her past and wants to prove she is nothing like her mother. She is strong and more than capable of taking on Kurt. I absolutely LOVE the appearance of my main man Torque. He is loved by all most especially ME. He has protected everyone woman in the club & would do it again in a heartbeat. Hence, why he's my main man. He gives the best advice out of the whole book, in my opinion, when he tells Risa, "You stick by him, do right by him, and you won't find a more devoted man. Now, you don't have to believer shit I say, but I will tell you this sweetheart. You get past that hardened heart of his, and you will never experience a love in the likes of what he can give you." Doesn't your heart just melt reading that? Kurt isn't so bad in the words department either! From the moment he asks Risa "Are you with me?", Kurt flew to my top ten book boyfriend list! This book flows great and I recommend reading it in a series just for the background, but it can be read as a standalone! Pick up this book now! I can't recommend Debra's books enough ~ she does not disappoint!

I loved how both Kurt and Risa came from rough childhoods but still managed to find love. We read about Kurt's upbringing when we read about Slade and Taylor, and in this book you get to learn about Risa's. I think that Risa trying to change the way people saw her because of who her mother was is very noble of her. Finding Kurt, he managed to show her that she is not her mother’s daughter and she doesn't have to prove that to anybody. There is just enough action and romance to keep you wanting to read on and on. One thing that I love is that in all of the books, the women always have attitude and I love that part. I would highly recommend this series to anyone to read! **About the Author** Top Selling Romance Author, Debra Kayn, lives with her family at the foot of the Bitterroot Mountains in beautiful Idaho. The Son of Slade… Be Still My Heart! Fighting to Ride is the fifth book in the Bantorus MC series. Although this book can be a stand-alone novella, you will appreciate it so much more if you read the entire series. Through the true vision and excellent writing skills by author Debra Kayn, your mind is completely transported straight into the lives of the bikers and their women. This story is about Kurt Ramchett. He is the son of Slade, who just happens to be one of the hottest men in the Bantorus MC. The third book “Soothing His Madness” gives the background information you need to understand why Kurt is the way he is. Over the years, Kurt works his way through the ranks of the Bantorus MC. He eventually becomes an unbeatable underground fighter earning him respect from everyone. For quite some time a plan had been in place to expand the Bantorus territory. The time has come to make the move. Kurt is made president of the new charter. Years earlier, Kurt had purchased The Sterling House in Federal, Idaho which will now serve as the home for the new Bantorus charter. When Kurt and his men arrive in Federal, he finds his building occupied by Risa Kohl and her Silver Girls. Through a leasing agent’s mistake, Risa has been renting and running her “Entertainment Business” out of this building and has no intentions of leaving. Kurt is a born leader with a fierce attitude. He is loyal to his brothers and a total bad to the bone biker, who is use to getting his way. When he meets Risa, tempers flare, sparks fly and all hell breaks loose. Once Kurt learns a hidden secret about Risa, he becomes extremely protective of her. I feel so drawn to Kurt. He does not open his heart to women very often but when he does, bad things follow, and Risa is no exception. This story has it all…sex, crime, drama and sizzling hot bikers. Technically Book 5 in the Bantorus MC series, but really it could be considered Book 1 in the second half, where the club opens a 2nd charter in the fictional town of Federal ID. (side note, you can visit the author's website to see inspirational pictures for places used in the book)
This is Kurt's story, and I have had a soft spot for Kurt since we got to know him as a young man in Soothing His Madness, as Slade's oldest son. Now we get Kurt all grown up and as the President of the Federal Charter.
Kurt is still just as protective and badass as ever. He was taught family is the most important thing in the world and vows to never let another member of his family ever get hurt. When the Bantorus MC rolls into Federal, they discover that someone has been running a business in their building, an adult entertainment business, Risa is fighting her own demons trying to change the way people look at her and treat her because of her mother's lifestyle and past actions. Both Risa and Kurt are stubborn and you can practically see the sparks flying off the pages as you read their story.
I love that each story is it own story in this series, but that past characters show up, but never in an overwhelming way. If you are looking for a Romance story, with a little suspense, and hot alpha males that happen to be bikers, this is the book for you!
Debra Kayn takes a little jump in the Bantorous MC series with this book. All the original characters are older and Kurt Ramchett is all grown up and is going to be running his own club franchise in another state. It's always exciting to see characters grow up and see where they go and we finally see Kurt as a man and in charge. Several years ago Kurt bought some property in Federal, Idaho and now it's finally time to move in and set things up for his new business and the new club. Unfortunately the place they were supposed to live is still occupied by his renter. Risa has papers that say her and her girls have one more year in Kurt's building. Risa runs a adult entertainment place and she employees several girls that put on shows for the local miners. Sparks fly when Kurt first arrives in town to see Risa putting on her once a month show in the middle of the street! It's instant attraction for Kurt and things get interesting from there. Los Li is always a danger to Bantorus MC and just when Kurt thinks everything is going well they threaten everything. Fun but thrilling book. New characters with peaks at old characters which is always so awesome. A sizzling hot thrilling ride from the beginning to the end. Debra Kayn moves us into the next generation of the Bantorus MC without missing a beat!
So apparently this is book #5 in the Bantorus MC series and although the description says it "can" be read as a standalone, I think I would have enjoyed and understood a bit more if I had read the first 4 books in the series. However, that being said, it was a pretty kickass and cool biker story with a very different feel to it. I think it was the whole mining town story, with Risa the stripper who puts on monthly shows bathing in a tub in front of her building naked, while the miners walk up to her and drop silver into the bathwater. VERY interesting beginning and then when Kurt rolls into town to reclaim the building he owns (which houses Risa and her "girls") only to find out she has an ironclad lease for another year, things get very hot and sticky between these two hard headed people. This was a sexy and yet emotionally very serious story of two people trying to live up to high expectations they have set for themselves. For Kurt, it is to protect his club and make his family proud and for Risa, her motives are to NOT be anything like her mother who is in prison and left behind quite a reputation for Risa to live down. I am curious now to read some of the previous books and I will try to go back and catch up on the other club members one day. A pretty good series for biker romance lovers.
**** 4.5 **** "I am not my mother's daughter" stars
Hands down my FAVE of Debra's MC books, I loved Kurt that damn boy is not bashful, "get dressed, get out, and take your men with you." Thank God, her voice sounded stronger this time. Totally ignoring her, Kurt's jeans came off along with his socks. Shocked into silence, Risa ogled. His flaccid pen*s thickened, elongated, and rose until his co** pointed right at her. She inhaled air as if she was dying of suffocation, taking in his size, shape, and oh-my-God the whole package." Kurt knows how to put his woman in place, "enough with the bit** attitude." He lowered his hand, taking his sweet time. "If you don't want to talk yet, then you're going to play by my rules. Tonight, make sure you don't eff another man." Risa had her turn to ogle now it's Kurt's turn, "his mouth softened. "That I can do, but I'm a selfish a**hole and want you walking in front of me so I can watch your sweet a** the whole way." He doesn't care what others think of him, "he kissed her upturned lips. "I don't give a sh** what everybody thinks when I take my woman out." I really can't wait for Ink and Lilly's story.
Kurt is all grown up and starting a Bantorus MC, Federal chapter. Kurt is similar to his dad (Slade) and other Bantorus members that we read about in previous books in the series - and this series only gets better with time and further sequels. Risa is the daughter of a prostitute, and her main goal in life is to get other people to stop thinking she is like her mother. However, she runs a "male-entertainment" club in Federal and just happens to be running it in the historic building that Kurt bought to house the members of his MC. The Los Li (Mexican mafia) are causing trouble again, and Kurt and Risa face a replay of Los Li damage from the past.
I truly enjoyed this book, just like Kayn's other MC books. Kurt was raised to be a fighter, and this is a new aspect of the Bantorus MC. The sex is sizzling hot, the story well plotted and told, and this new branch of the Bantorus MC is going to be an exciting new ride. AND we got to see the "old" original riders from the Pitnam original MC come into town.
One of my favorite MC series. Kayn is good at blending heart, sex, and hot alpha MC guys. Enjoy!
Bantorus MC is expanding. Kurt has grown up and is going out on his own and starting a new Chapter of Bantorus. He moved his chapter to Federal, Idaho and he wants to just ride there and move into his building and get ready to start his new legit business. When he gets to Federal, there are problems and it's in the form of a woman. Risa has been running her entertainment club for 6 years and has one more year on her contract. She is trying to prove something to the people of Federal who have judged her all her life. She is not like her mother and she plans on proving it. When the two meet, sparks fly, but it's not just angry sparks, it's sexual sparks as well. This is a page turning book, once you pick it up, you won't want to put it down. They will have to work on compromising to each get what they want and there are dangers awaiting. Be sure to read this next installment in Debra Kayn's exciting Bantorus MC club series.
Another awesome Bantorus Motorcycle Club story. Debra Kayn always seems to keep up the pace from one book to the next.
The Bantorus MC has expended to it's second location to the silver mining town of Federal, Idaho. Leading this new chapter of the club is Kurt Ramchett. When the club rolls into town and ready to rest after their long ride from Washington, they find out a strip club has taken up residence of their building. Tension brews when Kurt comes face to face with the woman who runs The Silver Girls, Risa Kohl. The attraction between them grows fast. Lots of action and intense scenes dominate the pages of this book. You won't want to put it down.
I received an ARC copy from the author for a honest review. Let me say this book did not disappoint & if I could I would give it more than 5 stars! Another excellent read from Debra Kayn & one of my favorite. Kurt's sexy, possessive, protective, rough, a total badass but when it comes to loving his woman you can see a more sensitive side of him. He’s all this wrapped up in one bundle of to die for hotness. When he sees Risa he's instantly drawn to her & goes into protective mode. Love the steamy sex & flaming chemistry between them. Intriguing storyline that kept me up until the wee hours of the morning in order to finish. Would definitely recommend! Can't wait for more!
This is my first Bantorus book and I am going to need to start at the beginning because, damn, this was an excellent book. This has a whole different feeling as far as an MC book goes and it was really refreshing. Kurt wants to expand the club and uses his own money to buy property in Federal, Idaho to use for manufacturing guns for Militia. That is as far as I will go with specifics as I do not give spoilers. This is a sexy, yet emotionally story of two people trying to live up to high expectations they have set for themselves and their journey.
I love when a series gives us that little bit more. In this case, the next generation. The club is expanding and Kurt is the president of the new chapter. Risa is the local woman trying to outgrow her past. When these two meet, you just know they've each met their match. The Los Li are still a problem. We get to see some of our beloved characters return and make an appearance. I was really surprised by Lee and hope his book, or Lilly's is next. Great job Debra.
Another great story from Debra!! Loved meeting all the new family, getting to know the new town, and checking in with the original MC. Could not put it down! I cannot wait for the next story! Way to go Debra!
