New York Bratva

Mafia Prince's Secret Baby

Rate this book
One wild night gave me more than just regrets.
Six years ago, I walked away from Igor Sokolov—New York’s most dangerous Bratva prince—and vowed never to look back.

Or so I thought.

Now, he’s found me. And worse, he’s discovered my biggest our daughter.

Igor doesn’t ask. He takes.

With ruthless determination, he drags us back to New York, claiming it’s the only way to keep us safe.

Safe from his enemies, maybe. But not from him.

He’s possessive, demanding, and dangerously irresistible.

And he’s made one thing crystal I’m his.

Letting him close is a mistake I never planned on making twice.

But resisting him? That might just destroy me.

Because when it comes to Igor Sokolov, the real danger isn’t loving him—it’s trying not to.

Surprise It’s A Kidnapping

One of the first things he says to the FMC is that he likes her Russian accent—but the narrator doesn’t use one for her internal monologue, only when she speaks aloud. It’s odd; she does a decent Russian accent when needed, and her “man” voice is strangely more appealing than her regular female one.

My god, the MMC is unbelievably unlikable—delusionally so. Sure, he’s more realistic than the FMC, being a Bratva Boss who’s used to getting what he wants when he wants it, and he certainly acts that way.

I had higher hopes for the FMC, who I genuinely liked at the beginning of the book. Unfortunately, her character fell off as the story progressed, and she seemed increasingly willing to put her daughter in danger for the sake of a member of a man

Families are enemies per say, one night they hooked, partied ways. Fast forward 6 years we start off with him coming off a flight hooking up with a flight attendant. He’s travelling with his brother to help sort a court issue out which the FMC is the residing judge. They are both surprised when they see each other and there’s still chemistry between them. She decides to put herself in his way bc she wants another night of sex with him knowing it might put her daughter at risk . Why did I mention the flight attendant …bc he hooks up with FMC the Same he lands - they hook up again. Anyway he finds out about the daughter she never told him about. And he tells her he has a son with another woman he hooked up with (since died - no context). Ultimately what I got out of this story is that she put her daughter life in danger for a shag with a man who likes to sleep around with no protection. What trash - this isn’t the strong woman it’s suppose to protray but rather another loser who throws herself at a man and tries to act strong / independent.

I stopped reading 1/4 way through this book…then went back for more. Turns out FMC is annoying …I updated review to 3.5 bc of MMC. Would try another from this series.

I really liked this one. I stumbled across this one and was already half way through when I discovered that I should have really read 2 before it but I don't think it's the biggest issue and I'll get to them soon or later.

Anyway this one is Katya and Igor story.

They basically hook up at their siblings wedding and 6 years later Igor discovers that Katya took a little part of him back to Russia with her.

It's a really good little story and I loved Igor, he probably should have backed down when Katya told him that her and their daughter wasn't going back to New York with him but at the end of the day he knew that little Sophia could get better treatment in New York for her condition then she ever could in Russia.

I loved this story! It’s the third in A.J’s New York bratva series and focuses on Igor and Katya’s story, who we met previously as their brother and sister to Katherina and nikolai from ruthless mafia king. Although it’s not necessary to read the previous stories before this one, there are spoilers and an overarching story that would benefit from reading the others first.

Katya is Nikolai volkovs younger sister who has forged a life separate from the danger and drama related to Nikolais bratva business which spans Russia and New York. She has built her career in law in Moscow and is fiercely independent. When she goes to New York to celebrate her brothers wedding she encounters Igor Sokolov, her new sister in laws brother, who has somewhat of a reputation himself and is heir to the sokolov bratva. They share one passionate encounter the night before katya returns to Moscow.

Fast forward 6 years and katya is now a judge and mother to a 5 year old little girl and when Igor travels to Russia he comes across katya and all the sparks from their previous ancountef flare to life again, until he discovers the secret she’s been keeping from him for 6 years… his daughter. He takes katya and Sofia back to New York in order to get treatment for Sofia’s health condition, where he vows never to let them leave him. That’s when they come under attack. Igor must fight to find out who is after them and why and along with his brother and closest men and katyas brothers they fight and take down their enemy.

The story had me gripped from start to finish and I couldn’t put it down. The story is well written and the characters are well developed and have chemistry off the charts!

I’m looking forward to more in this series, hopefully! I hope vasiliy is going to be next as his storyline was left on a bit of a cliffhanger!.

3.5 stars!!!

I read this book for one reason: Igor (5 stars for him alone).

From the very beginning, he carried the entire story for me. He’s strong, ruthless, and determined, but when he discovers he has a daughter, he does exactly what a respectable man should. He steps up. I loved how fiercely he claimed Sofia (who is hearing-impaired) and made sure she got the best care while balancing his dangerous Bratva world. For that alone, Igor deserves all the credit.

Katya, on the other hand, drove me crazy. She’s introduced as an independent, honorable judge, supposedly someone who wants nothing to do with the Bratva life. Yet every chance she gets, she contradicts herself: pushing Igor away one moment, then throwing herself back into his arms the next. She kept saying “no", "but…” and “I don’t want this life, but…” until it became exhausting. Honestly, she came across as a hypocrite: despising Igor’s world but begging for another night with him. Her inconsistency killed the chemistry for me, and I almost didn’t finish the book because of her.

The intimate scenes worked for me only because of Igor, because of his intensity, his passion, and his conviction. Without him, there wouldn’t have been much to hold on to. The side characters, however, were intriguing, and I’ve already read Nikolai and Katarina’s story, which I enjoyed more. I definitely seem to prefer the MMCs in this series over the FMCs, and I hope future books give us heroines who match the strength of their men.

Overall, I’d give this 3.5 to 4 stars: all for Igor, his efforts to provide for his children, and the promise of where this series is heading. I’m curious about Vasiliy’s hinted storyline, and I really hope Aleks gets his own book too.

Mafia Prince’s Secret Baby is super intense with plenty of conflict and two incredibly stubborn, unyielding, unreasonable main characters. Igor carries the mantle of Pahkan’s eldest son with ruthless ferocity, having to bury much of his humanity in order to protect his siblings and survive in a dark and dangerous world. I loved the glimpses of him with Damien, and learning more about him via his internal dialogue. Katya is equally ruthless and unforgiving, carving out her own reality. Though absolutely brilliant, she refuses to see what’s right in front of her—thus putting herself and others in peril on more than one occasion due to her own selfishness and refusal to accept reality for what it is. The villains in this story are many and varied, as are the dark and deceptively calm moments. I adored seeing the various ways in which Igor and Katya’s families interacted, and the kids are definitely the highlights of this one!

The narrator did a decent job of bringing out the many different voices that make an appearance in this novel. Their tone, inflection, and emotions were aligned wonderfully with how the story progressed—though it was weird to hear accents only when certain characters were speaking out loud. I definitely enjoyed the audiobook and was fully engaged from start to finish. This is book 3 in the series, and while some things make more sense if you’ve read the other novels first, this can be enjoyed as a stand alone. I actually listened to Yakov’s story first (book 5 in the series, I believe), and it was so dynamic that I decided to go back and check out all the others. I can’t wait to dive into the rest!.

Mafia Prince's Secret Baby by A.J. Summers is part of the New York Bratva Series and delivers an action-packed, steamy romance filled with suspense and intense emotions.

The story follows Katya Volkova, a lawyer in Russia, and Igor Sokolov, the Bratva Prince and heir to the Sokolov empire. On her brother’s wedding day, Katya has a passionate one-night stand with Igor—one that leads to an unexpected pregnancy. To protect their child from the dangers of Igor’s world, she keeps the baby a secret.

Six years later, Igor returns and discovers the truth. Determined to be in his daughter’s life, he refuses to let Katya keep them apart. He takes them back to New York, vowing to protect them at all costs. But with enemies lurking in the shadows, keeping his newfound family safe won’t be easy. Fortunately, with the help of Katya’s brothers, they stand a fighting chance.

This book delivers on all the best mafia romance tropes, including Bratva romance, enemies to lovers, opposites attract, and touch her and die. The chemistry between Katya and Igor is undeniable, starting with raw attraction and fiery passion before evolving into something deeper. Their intimate scenes are wild and intense, and as the story progresses, their connection grows more emotional and romantic.

My favorite parts were the family moments, which added warmth and depth to the story. If you love action-packed mafia romances with plenty of suspense, steam, and strong family bonds, I highly recommend this book!

Igor and Katya's love story

Igor Solokov is the oldest son and heir to the Solokov empire. He is Russian, Bratva, and dominent. His sister is Katarina Solokov Volkov, heroine of the first book in this series, Ruthless Mafia King.
Katya Volkov is the sister of Nikolai Volkov, hero of Ruthless Mafia King. She was an attorney living in Russia when she was first introduced. In this book, she is now a judge, still living in Russia.
Apparently, Igor and Katya shared more than a flirtation when they met at Nikolai and Katarina's wedding. Their quick sex resulted in a daughter, a fact withheld from Igor, until he happens to see Katya 6 years later while in Russia on business.
Their child has a serious medical condition, so Igor insists they move to NY to get her medical attention, as well as bond as a family.
Igor has a son by a woman introduced in Ruthless Mafia King, although he has raised the boy as a single father as she died in childbirth.
The story has a violent theme throughout, blending with their growing love story. Igor tries to keep them safe, but Katya repeatedly ignores his advice, putting herself in danger.
The Igor in this book is very different than the character from the first book. Becoming a father has matured him, although he still struggles with his emotions. Katya grows through the book, shedding her anger as she finds love.
This is an interesting, although violent, book. I recommend it.

Predictable, Kinda Boring, No Chemistry, Meh Dialogue

So not to be harsh, but this didn’t work for me. The plot (that’s sort of there?) is predictable and unoriginal. The main female character starts out sort of strong, but then folds like a conflicting, unbelievable deck of cards. The MMC is flat - he’s controlling, entitled, and relatively irredeemable. Like I should like him somewhat because I should feel bad he missed out on being in his daughter’s life, but I don’t. He drags his daughter and the FMC across the ocean and into trouble, cops an attitude that his daughter doesn’t immediately like him as he’s yelling at her mom and radiating discontent, and his son is a one-dimensional character add on. How would a Russian female judge with a strong mafia family not have the money for the best surgeries for her daughter? How would that same woman not be able to stop herself and her daughter from being forced onto a private jet to New York? How would she have no self defense skills or private guards? Why would she then get jealous of the MMC going on a date only to reinforce his deluded self-centered behavior by fucking him? They do no work on their relationship through the book but once the FMC is jumped she’s now a defensive less cliche who needs the MMC. The same MMC who keeps saying he’ll keep her safe and then fails to do so at every turn. This book honestly just pissed me off. Save yourself the frustration with lack of pay off.

dnf’d at 72%

supposed to be a standalone but there were too many things referenced from the previous book(s?) without context which made it confusing.

the fmc was insufferably hostile but had no backbone when it came to not sleeping with the mmc. one second she’d say he was never gonna touch her again and then literally the next paragraph she’s practically begging him to touch her.

the mmc was a manwhore who apparently never uses protection with anyone, so it’s a miracle the fmc only ended up with a baby and not an STD.

i feel like the chapters bounced around out of nowhere— one chapter she still hates the mmc, then next thing we know; she’s being attacked and put in the hospital, then the next chapter she’s asking the mmc to make love to her without any real written progression of their feelings or relationship, then the next chapter their house is attacked— it was making my head spin.

i rarely dnf but this book already had trouble hooking me from chapter 1 and it only got worse

Mafia Prince’s Secret Baby is a steamy Bratva romance which are one of my favorite books to immerse in.
Igor and Katya’s story began when she was in town for her brothers wedding to Igor’s sister.
Their attraction to each other was intense and since Katya was heading back to Russia the next day she decided to give in to the moment and had a one night fling with the sexy Igor, dangerous Bratva Prince.
Six years later and Igor is on his way to Russia to take care of business for his father and gets a few unexpected surprises on arrival featuring the woman he hasn’t forgotten, Katya.
The story was a nicely written narrative with plenty of action, mafia intrigue, family dynamics,
Steam, drama, danger, possessive alpha male, and a strong female who share more than the angst between them as it turns out.
A good read that was a pleasurable indulgence and kept the entertainment level high!

A story that brings a Bratva prince and a Bratva princess who is now a judge together after six years of being apart. During their time apart the Bratva princess has kept a secret from the Bratva prince for six years.
Throughout the story the two start forging a new relationship together even though there are threats, violence, betrayal and secrets at every turn for them.
As soon as it’s all taken care of with the help of the Bratva princess’s brothers the two tell one another how they feel. The bratva princess becomes a lawyer in the states since she decides not to go back for her where she’s a judge at. With the help of their children they become a family. They are happy together and in love. They are also happy with their small little family as well.
Outstanding characters and a great page turner. This story has drama, suspense, intrigue, action and a romance that gives it a happy ever after ending.

DNF

This book started out really good then after the first chapter everything went downhill.

Firstly, this is supposed to be a standalone but there are bits that doesn't read as such. Katya and Igor hook up at their siblings wedding. They seem to both want it, there's no animosity, there's heat but for Katya, it's a one night stand.

Fast forward 6 years and they fly to Moscow (where Katya is living) to support their men and she's the judge in their case and Igor's brother Aleks who's sister is also married to Kat's brother doesn't recognize her?

That same night, Katya goes to Igor willingly for another hook up, he deduces they have a daughter, and she goes from horny to hostile.

I didn't understand the basis of her hostility, why she deliberately hid their daughter or any of the back story until I read the blurb of their siblings story.

Anyhow, 2 stars for the effort it takes to write a novel

I couldn't put this story down, from the moment their eyes meet at her brother's wedding to his sister the sparks are flying.
After an explosive scene by a fountain Katya flies back to Russia. 6 years later Igor is in the courtroom where she's a Judge to warn his men not to betray him. After another night together Katya takes a phone call and Igor discovers she had their daughter.
Bratva men don't let their family go so when Igor knows he can love and support his daughter there's only one way this situation is going.

So much drama and action when something goes wrong with a shipment and Igor is being targeted, Katya gets kidnapped and both sides of the family have to come together.
A brilliant read, gripping storylines and the way the kids connect is beautiful.

She had one passionate interlude with him after her brother's wedding. He was the brother of the bride and she the sister of the groom. They hooked up and she never expected to see him again. When she found out he left her something behind a few months later, she never told him about his child. So when he shows up 5 years later and finds out, and then demands she return with him, she is not on board. He is high ranking bratva, and doesn't give her much of a choice. He wants his family together. There is an additional bratva/mafia family drama arc that carries through the story. It was a little chaotic at times for me, but they had that force that kept pulling each other back. It is an adventure leading to their happily ever after.

A man determined to get the woman who stole his heart and extra learning he has a daughter.

Igor was determined to have his sister’s sister in law whose family was his enemy. But attraction can’t see the problems of the world and the heart knows what it wants. A one night stand led to the daughter that Igor never knew he had. Five years later, going to Russia to get their men released from jail. The woman of his dreams is the judge on the case. A night that neither could turn down, Katya was determined to let it be a one and done but a phone call changed all that. When he heard a little girl crying, he started asking questions. Igor learned that his daughter was having a hearing problems so he took them to New York to meet a specialist. Beautiful family and love story. I recommend reading this book.

Katya is trying not to be involved in her family's business which is difficult. She comes to New York for a wedding and meets Igor and sparks fly between them. Its not long before they get together that night. However, they go their separate ways after and don't see each again for years. Katya is now a judge in Moscow raising her daughter when Igor comes back in her life. When he realizes they have a daughter he will do anything to have them both. This has them going to New York so their daughter can get the medical care she needs. During this time they grow closer the longer they are together. Will this be a second chance for them?

This is an amazing story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

This book is not totally for me . It I good at some point but you later you would want to skip some pages to get something solid to keep you going. The main couple their relationship started as one night stand . Suddenly a deep connection based on what I don't know may be if they spent or had a real relationship at the beginning I would accept their love as life gave them a second chance. She defied him every step even it was annoyed for me especially she was a judge in Russia . Her attitude was as a stubborn kid not a mom. Even their enemy didn't make sense to me. He had all the means to destroy or end that threat. I think this book needed more depth to their relationship, little more strong events to make sense for all the decisions and reactions.

Katya and Igor hook up at their siblings wedding, he is playboy and she knows it is only a one night stand. She goes back to Moscow but finds out later she is pregnant, she does not tell Igor about the baby.

Six years later Igor is in Moscow to show support of his men that are in legal trouble. Katya is in the courtroom, the men take a back seat to hooking up with her again. When he finds out he has a child, he will pull anything possible to get her to NYC.

Things are very complicated, Igor has a son that he is raising and the enemies are moving in, he will have to everything he can to protect his little family. Katya does not make things easy for him, he will have to work for it.

Igor and Katya. Her brother is marrying his sister. They notice each other immediatlly. Whats the harm Katya is going back to Moscow and will never see him again. But when Igor travels to Moscow for legal reasons and in the court he notices the Judge is none other than the woman from six years ago. The one he cant forget. Once he finds out he has a daughter nothing and no one will keep him from taking Katya and his daughter back to New York. They have to manuever through life events as betrayal, danger, secrets and all that the mafia entails. Wont be able to put it down. Was very intriguing and entertaining to read.

The title gives away only a tiny part of this story. The characters in this tale are from two mafia or bratva families who meet at the wedding of their mutual siblings. He is the oldest son of the New York family. She is from Russia and returns there after the wedding. He goes to Russia 6 years later to handle some business and they meet again. Here’s where the surprises start rolling in. There are more twists to encounter. Resistance is at a premium. Nothing is simple. Nothing goes as planned. Nothing is easy. There are complications. There is family drama. There are masked men. There is family snuggles. There are battles to solve problems, but do they solve anything?

Just ok

I did not like the F and barely like the H. She was rude, selfish, and pompous. The H’s rage came off as a child having a temper tantrum. The fact that his brother came off as more of a boss than he. The shipment issue was just thrown in there and this supposedly strong bratva was scared of their partners. Also the Volkova family over shadowed the H. I get it the author loves the Volkovs but you made them take very someone else’s story. In my opinion the h brothers had too much power and mention in this book. The H seemed to be like a child that they needed to control.

I really loved the overall plot....Igor and Katya are just everything, they have an insane chemistry but she is so stubborn! I loved Igor's passion, protectiveness and power he had in the story and when Katya's brothers join his to fight a common enemy it was simply amazing! If you like strong, stubborn heroines, who secretly love the Bratva boss, action, steam and men who would do anything for the women they love, then you need to read this!!.

Spend a couple hours getting completely immersed in this book. It has action. It has steam. It has drama.

I could not put this book down. I began to read it this morning and I kid you not I finished it by lunch.

The character building is amazing. You can see why Igor is the way he is. You find out why Katya is so resistant to him. This is a part of a series but you don’t need to read the others to get the gist. It’s all about Igor and Katya’s love story. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This is a fantastic story!

Katya has a steamy one night with Igor. Fast forward six years, and Igor comes face to face with the one woman he couldn't forget... add to that the knowledge that he has a daughter.. and he's all in.

I love how both Igor and Katya are strong characters, but also how for a man of the Mafia, he's extremely loving and protective of his newly created family.

Love, lust, danger, action... all the feels... just an amazing story.

This is a wonderful addition to Summers' Mafia romance reads / listens. I received the audio version of this book, and I really enjoyed it. I would have liked to have had a dual narration, but the narrator did a really good job. Our main characters are Igor and Katya and their chemistry is intense. Summers delivers a captivating and dark romance read that flows wonderfully and keeps the listener engaged. A great listen that has me excited for more!
