**Not a Romance Novel**
**Physical and sexual violence perpetrated against FMC on page with graphic description**
**Sex scenes written for male-gaze and center male pleasure**

If you’re here because you got pulled in by the deceptive ad on instagram (like I did) let me save you 2 hours of disappointment and frustration. The ads for this are a real bait and switch. The book goes something like: FMC accidentally calls her one night stand for help, he shows up and is like “how dare you touch her.”

By the time this scene happens in the story, she and her “one night stand” have had several encounters so he doesn’t really count as a one night stand anymore. Also, she calls him while her ex fiancé is attempting to rape her, so if that’s not the kind of “romance” you want to read, you should probably skip this book. I wish I had. But no, I was tricked in to reading a violent mafia book trying to masquerade as romance, so below is my full review in all of its wrathful glory. Proceed at your own risk. Spoilers below. And beware this book contains graphic violence perpetrated on the FMC.

So many problems. Where to begin? Right at the beginning. Here is my play-by-play critique of this “book.”

Inconsistent plot. First Mason needs Preston’s money. Then Preston is marrying Arabella because he needs Mason’s money? Then we’re back to Mason needing Preston’s money and Gris trying to ruin Mason by luring Arabella away from Preston?
“I was only supposed to kiss her. Take her out, shower her with wine and roses. Woo her away from her fiancé with a bit of romance. Help her see she was making a mistake, and fucking Mason Kincaid out of his newest piggybank, Preston Wingate.” Also, if Mason can give Preston Arabella’s shares, why can’t he just take them for himself? If you’re looking for a coherent plot, turn back now. This book ain’t it.

Also, there is no way a woman wrote this book. As evidenced by the following: “First, Bella is a true beauty. She’s fucking perfect. Rich, silky brown hair, classic features, completely fuckable lips, a ten for a body with long legs and a gorgeous ass. The exact right amount of tits.”
No woman wants to be reduced to sexualized body parts. And no woman wants to fantasize about a man that reduces women to sexualized body parts. Nothing infuriates me about romance novels more than male authors trying to pretend they’re female. Look dude, it’s so obvious you have never lived inside a female body or brain. Don’t shelve this under romance. What you’ve written here is an action book with porn scenes. When women want porn, they watch porn. When women want romance and female-centric sex, they read a romance novel. So yes, I’m salty about you trying to pass your mafia porn off as romance. Another dead giveaway? Arabella is an object. She has no discernible personality. She’s essentially a chess piece on a board.

“Arabella is a goddess, and I eat her pussy like a starving man.” More strong evidence this author is a man. Cunnilingus description receives one sentence. Blow job description received multiple pages.

“Everybody is thinking. Making plans. While I’m supposed to sit here and wait. I click off my phone, setting it back in my bag. I think I’m tired of waiting. It’s time for me to make some plans of my own.” It’s about time you took some initiative, Arabella! (Spoiler alert, she never does make any actual plans. Just continues to be moved about by men as the plot demands.)

This book would be better if Gris got Luke to sell him his shares and then eloped with Arabella and got her shares and then through his scheming he now has control of Kincaid Enterprises. His betrayal breaks Arabella’s heart and Gris realizes all the power/money in the world can’t make up for losing her trust and love. That’s a romance novel “Tammy”. Think I’ll call you Timmy from now on.

“I don’t have feelings,” I reply. “I’m like Killian, only sane.” “I resent that,” Killian grumps back. “I have loads of feelings. It’s controlling them that I struggle with.” This exchange was funny! Good job Tammy/Timmy.

Gris: I want you to do the thing that you already want to do (break up with your fiancé)
Arabella: How very dare you! (Devestated that he “used” her. That’s pretty rich coming from a cheater.)
If Arabella were smart (and not a caricature of a woman written by a male author) she would milk this for all it was worth and get Gris to pay her off to do the thing she already wants to do - break up with her fiance.

Why is she going to dinner with his parents after he called the wedding off? Netflix and binge girl. You owe this abusive a-hole nothing.

“Then I pull out the elastic holding my hair as I start for the bedroom. I let my hair fall down as walk and then I give it a little fluff. “You’re a giver, Gris Smith. Come give me some more.” I know in porn, women always have their hair down. But in real life, if you’re about to enjoy sexy times, women pull their hair up. Hair in the face while giving a blow job is annoying. Hair in the face while riding a dick, annoying. Hair being accidentally pulled because it’s caught under his arm while trying to shift sexual positions, painful, and you guessed it, annoying. In actual real-life sex, when the priority is pleasure, not catering to an audience, women pull their hair up, not down.

“And I know I’m fucking losing it, because part of me wants to make her promise to be my wife before I break her open.” Break her open? Sounds painful! Also sounds like something a man would write. I’m looking at you Timmy.

“I want to know her intimately. I want to know her as well as I know myself. It’s like she’s an extension of me.” That’s not sexy. That’s narcissistic enmeshment.

“Fuck. Me. I reach under her, sliding my hand between the bed and her belly until I make it to her clit, then I press. She bucks, crying out. Then, because I’m a masochist, I let the tip of my cock slide between her folds. I sink into her, not going far. I’m playing at fucking her. But even the tip being inside her feels amazing. She clenches around me, trying to pull me in deeper which pulls a low groan from my chest. I grab my cock with my other hand, pumping it again. It’s as close as I can come to fucking her without really sinking inside her.” I will concede - this is hot. There’s not enough “just the tip” scenes out there. Points for several of them in this book.

“You want to sell, that’s one thing. You want to hurt Mason, you’re hurting all of us.” I point a finger at Luke.” Nice to see Bella finally bossing her brothers around.

“Let me answer for you. No, we’re not getting married. You can have him, sweetheart, but just in case he hasn’t told you, he’s got no money of his own. Everything he’s been spending on you belongs to my family.” So Preston doesn’t have money? He’s been spending Kincaid money? But the Kincaid’s need money and that’s why Bella was marrying Preston? See what I mean about no coherent plot?!

“But when I open the door, my breath stops in my lungs, because standing in front of me is not the delivery guy, it’s Preston.” No real-life woman answers the door without knowing who’s on the other side. This is a great example of how it’s obvious this wasn’t written by a human woman. It would never cross our minds to behave so recklessly.

“his hand comes down hard across my cheek. Pain explodes through my face and skull as I stumble back. But he’s on me in a second, his hand at my throat as he spits in my ear. “We’re going to finish our conversation now, you little bitch.” This does not belong in a romance book. Women don’t want to read about violence against women. Definitely don’t want to read about women being threatened with rape. (That follows in the next paragraph in the book, but I’m not posting it here.)

Here’s a better story: When Preston tries to attack her, Bella uses her Krav Maga moves and kills him. And when she meant to call Luke to help her hide the body she accidentally called Gris. And when Gris shows up he cheerfully helps her hide the body. That’s a story worth reading.

“His eyes widen in surprise. “Lord Griswold? What are you doing here?” Now all I can picture is Chevy Chase. Until they call him Gris. Then I picture the king from the Trolls movie.

“The doctor is shining a light in his eyes, checking his reflexes.” On the previous page the doctor had left. So I’m not sure when he snuck back in and why Mason and Gris aren’t surprised to see him. Just another example of bizarre continuity errors that even a basic editor should have caught.

“I kiss her then, her tears salty on my tongue. When I lift my head, her warm brown eyes meet mine. “Make love to me.” What’s sexier than a love scene taking place right after the FMC was brutally attacked? Literally anything. I can’t not express strongly enough how “ick” it is to have the FMC losing her virginity immediately after an attempted rape.

“I want to taste you,” I whisper back. And not surprisingly, another blow job. Really showing your hand here Tammy/Timmy. In what reality does a woman who was just violently assaulted (including being choked!) want to give a blow job? None. It was a trick question. There isn’t one. In no reality does that happen. A virgin that loves giving blow jobs is a male fantasy. In this context it’s disturbing.

“He zeroes in on my clit, swirling his tongue over the little nub as two of his fingers slip inside me.” Again, we have one sentence describing cunnilingus and the 2 pages previous dedicated to a blow job description. This is laughable at this point.

“He rumbles into my mouth even as he sinks deeper inside me. I feel the stretch, the burn. But our eyes are locked, in each other’s arms, as he moves with such a gentle slowness, that I don’t make a sound. I won’t ruin this moment with tears or complaints.” What. The. Fuck? This may be the worst “first time” scene I’ve ever read. (And I’ve read The Flame and the Flower!) I was prepared for this scene to be male-centric and unrealistic, but “I won’t ruin this with tears or complaints.” Again, what the actual fuck? Tammy/Timmy you need to take some time and consider how you view human women. And maybe talk to a professional.

“What I do know is that all of my brothers love me.”
I mean, they really don’t. People say “I love you” all the time only to have their actions prove that they definitely don’t. You have a plethora of evidence that your brothers don’t give two shits about you. No one has accused Tammy/Timmy of writing a believable female character so I shouldn’t be surprised when Arabella says dumb shit like this.

“I think we each donate two percent of our shares to Arabella, making her a ten-percent shareholder in Kincaid Enterprises.” This whole book was based on her being married off to Preston for her 20% of shares, so this line makes literally no sense. Did this book have an editor?

The epilogue is a summary of the book. Why? I just suffered through it once. Why am I reading it again in the epilogue?

Overall the story is very scattered and it feels like entire scenes are missing. Very hard to follow the thin excuse for a plot. I think I spent more time thinking about this book (and trying to make sense of it) than the author did. This “book” and I use that term loosely, reads like a bunch of individually written scenes cobbled together with the barest attempt at connecting them to each other.

And finally, you can’t just throw in a few “I love yous” and call it romance. The entire book (again I use that term loosely) has been violence and scheming and porn sex. Literally nothing in this “book” meets the criteria for romance. (I have nothing against sex scenes that center female pleasure. Big fan of those. When I say this book has “porn sex”, I mean that the sex scenes in this book are written for the male gaze and center male pleasure.)

King of Deception was certainly deceptive. But not in a good way. It was a shameless bait and switch, luring in romance readers, and then serving up a poorly written, violent, mafia-themed crime thriller with the vaguest attempt to qualify as a romance book by sprinkling in “I love yous” and sex scenes. My Instagram feed algorithm is exclusively romance novel content, so don’t tell me that’s not who you were targeting. This is like the Hallmark channel showing Bond movies and trying to claim its romance because Bond fucks women. Not. Even. Close.

Arabella Kincaid is trapped in an engagement that feels like a life sentence. Whilst holidaying on Maui she has a bit too much champagne & stumbles into wrong hotel room & runs smack into the most sinfully delicious man she’s ever laid eyes on. But Gris Smith isn’t just some random stranger. He is my family’s greatest enemy. Oops
The sixth book in the series & the last Kincaid has her story & also introduces us to the modern day Smith family. The chemistry between Gris & Bella was electric & they both fell hard & fast for each other. Bella has always been the little sister who must be protected – boy did she step out of her gilded cage! Gris started with ulterior motives but these went out of the window as his relationship with Bella deepened. A very well written, steamy, intriguing & engrossing finale

What a great ending to the series. This is Bella’s story, the Kincade Brother’s little sister. Bella has always been sheltered from the family business. Yes, she knows what her brothers do, but she’s never been a part of it. That is until her oldest brother Mason, head of the family, calls her home to marry a man she doesn’t love to further their Vegas empire.

But while on her beach vacation with her friends, Bella accidentally stumbles into the wrong bungalow and has a romantic interlude with a stranger. Little does she know she has just walked into her family’s worst competition’s room. From here the storyline takes readers on an emotional journey, as Bella tries to fix her wrongs while staying true to herself. Watching Bella come into her own is nothing short of spectacular.

I highly recommend reading the series in order with King of Deception as the outstanding conclusion. But rest assured, the way the story ends, even though the series is ending, I don’t think this is the last we’ll see of the Vegas Kings.

Great wrap up story to this series! And a wonderful introduction woven in to the new series! Arabella and Gris’s story is an immediate ignition when they meet. That flame is going to burn hot for a long time!

It was mildly entertaining for what it was, which is a not for me book. I don’t enjoy fast burns.

I will admit to my bad judgment to skip over my tbr for an ad I saw on IG. The scenes they use is always way more interesting in the clip than it is when it comes to the book.

Spoilers. This is book 6 of 6 for some kind of mafia/billionaire romance type-ish that’s not really that type, because their dad is ex mafia (he’s dead) and they don’t have an excessive amount of income, it’s all rolled into property.

Fmc, Arabella, goes by Bella is the only girl of 3 over protective brothers, and a step brother. Poor planning has landed her in a position to accept a proposal from her douchebaggery boyfriend Preston.

Preston’s family is from “old money” and are going broke because the son is an idiot when it comes to business, but has lots of connections to people of power.

While on her supposed bachelorette party she stumbles into the wrong hotel room. And sees our mmc, Gris, short for GRISWOLD, a britsh guy whose family is a duke and that makes him a lord, or something that gives his family, money power and status. He and his brothers deal into whatever the fmc’s brothers are doing, and bad things happened in other books to make this mmc the villain to the family.

The book is a little less than 200 pages and takes place over 3 days. In those 3 days the fmc and mmc fall in love and decide to get married and have babies.

The drama comes from the fmc being engaged to someone she doesn’t want to marry and hates her. The mmc being the enemy but he wants to claim the fmc because of course she’s absolutely perfect.

She’s a virgin but she gives the best head that makes him come really fast, and all he wants to do is eat her out all the time.

Short story long, they get rid of the ex, overcome the family drama and are set to marry by the end of the book. Yay for happy endings.

enjoyable but needed a better ending

The story was ok, kept me interested, it had heat n heart, but i really dont like that this author doesn’t do decent epilogues and she rarely has babies at the end. Its just a let down

I also didn’t care for the fact that heroine is engaged to another man when she gets involved with the hero. It would’ve been more palatable if the relationship was arranged, but it wasnt.

Safe. Hero is described as a playboy, but no details of his past are given. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. OM drama from heroines fiance. No ow. No cheating (between hero and heroine) and no sharing. No epilogue. Weak hea

Every single book in the series has had the exact same storyline. Amazingly wealthy, handsome, ripped and previously emotionally unavailable guy meets sweet innocent virgin (usually someone they have kidnapped or conned into dating). None of the characters have ever taken a sex ed class and therefore don't realize that unprotected sex often leads to pregnancy, nor has anyone ever heard of Plan B. They get engaged within about eight minutes of meeting each other. Bad guys die. The end.

An instagram ad got me

I see ads all the time for different books on my instagram feed. (thanks algorithm. Occasionally, one will hook me to find out what the book is and read the blurb. So, when I saw an ad for King of Deception, I was intrigued with the male character saving the female character. That, who hurt you vibes, is one of my top tropes. The story is fast paced and starts off pretty steamy in the first few chapters.

Bella, the female main character, is overly protective by her brothers for good reason. Though, I have no idea what she actually does besides being 22 years old, engaged to someone she truly doesn’t love, and went to school for design. Gris, the male main character, is a British lord, him and his brothers are in real estate. Gris trying to get back at Bella’s brother for a business deal he reneged on. So, cue in using Bella as revenge. We all know how this will go.

The story is less than 200 pages and like I said is fast paced. Overall, I liked the story but personally wished I knew a bit more about Bella. Will I read the rest of the series and other books by Tammy Andresen? Possibly. The ending does open up for one of Gris’ brothers’ to be the next main character.

In the 6th book in Lords of Las Vegas series, Arabella is in the middle of her brother Mason’s scheme to access useful contacts. She takes on the engagement encouraged by him, but realizes she’s making a mistake. It almost seems mafia-like, but stops short even though there is some physical abuse in the plot.

I liked that even though Arabella was used to being led by her brothers, she gets her strength and Gris helps her in many ways. She and Gris have lots of passion. It’s a 4 hot chili pepper rating from me!

I received a free copy of the book and leaving this review voluntarily.

knowing what you want

She brings them all back together, and learns how to stand up for herself. This is the final book in this series. Mason can kick rocks as much as I love him. He put her into a hard situation. Luke changed it. What he didn’t count for was them falling do each other!

I’m so excited to read Kills story!

I was on the fence about this one as I wasn't sure how I felt about it being about Arabella when we didn't know much about her, but wow, that poor girl! The way everyone treats her till Gris comes along (well kinda) I've really enjoyed this series, and I can't wait to move on to the next!

This was a too rushed insta love and needs editing, Gris and Bella are not believable. Bella goes from one user to the other, but it’s waved off with Gris. And she’s a deplorable cheater. She’s whole engaged and on her bachelorette vacation and cheats on her fiancé with the stranger whose villa she “accidentally “ mistook for her own, that was ridiculously left unlocked? Seriously? Her own villa also being left unlocked? Stupidly. There’s zero relationship building and things written that make no sense. Sex scenes are repetitive regarding oral and things written that don’t make sense, like her “wetness” going down thighs when she’s on the bed on her back with thighs on either side of Gris’ shoulders? What? And zero safe sex. Not even mentioned. Friends Bella went on vacay with, then left behind aren’t mentioned again. The ex was supposed to be taken care of, but couple months later Preston’s still alive and well. There was a lack of substance in this book. I started with this book, no desire to go to the prior books from what I read in this one about things that happened, or read the next. Killian’s not interesting at all.

Hire and editor

First of all, this book desperately needs editing. There are errors everywhere. Hard to read a book when every other word is misspelled, a word is missing, or a word is used incorrectly. And that just touches on some of the errors this book contains.

Now, my other complaints. This is an insta love story. Ugh. No. You don’t fall in love after 3 days. Fall in lust? Sure. Love? Absolutely not.

The FMC is a pushover. I can’t stand weak main characters that barely show any growth. Woman was going to throw her life away to her abusive finance and her brothers. Did she learn anything? Nope. Now she’s throwing it away for a man she just met, one that supposedly lied to her.

These billionaires are supposed to be cunning, but I’d argue they have 2 functional brain cells between them all. Cunning… that’s why they lack any common sense?

This book was a good reminder of why I don’t touch mafia books. They always come across as juvenile.

what did I just read?
they will let any book get published these days. this book was one of the worst books I've managed to get through. the writing was sloppy and all over the place. I had to re read pages thinking I've missed things but nope just shit writing. the characters most unlikable all of them but especially the heroine she was a weak damsel in distress pain in the butt. why was she coddled so much. there was no character development, no connection other than sexual between the leads and no story just a bunch of events happening on a page.

Tammy Andresen concludes her Lords of Las Vegas series with a spectacular finale. Tammy Andresen concludes her Lords of Las Vegas series with a spectacular finale. I've cherished each story about the Kincaid men, and having Arabella “Bella,” the only girl, as the focus of the final tale was the ideal way to wrap up this captivating, action-packed series.

Bella has lived under the protective wing of her brothers, leading a sheltered life. Despite her efforts to do what's right, she finds herself engaged to someone she realizes she can't marry. The family needs his connections to sustain their business, leaving her feeling trapped.

Escaping to Hawaii for some clarity, Bella ends up, after a few too many drinks, in the wrong room, facing the most sinfully attractive man she has ever encountered. He is sexy, gorgeous, muscular, and has an accent to die for. In a moment of recklessness, instead of leaving, she surrenders to a night of passion, though she remains a virgin.

Lord Griswald “Gris” Smith is an English Lord with his own designs for Bella. Throughout his life, Gris has avoided emotional entanglements, yet Bella manages to pierce his defenses. He finds himself falling for her, risking his family's plans, as keeping her safe becomes his priority.

Bella’s world crumbles when she realizes she was merely a pawn in Gris's strategy. Her anger extends to everyone: her brothers, her fiancé, and Gris. Tired of being manipulated, this feisty and strong-willed young woman finally takes control of her life and the circumstances confronting her.

Andresen intricately crafts a sizzling romance with engaging character dynamics, drawing readers in as Bella and Gris navigate their desires, family obligations, while trying to navigate a way to have a future together.

Having devoured every installment of this series, I have been captivated by the exhilarating action, compelling characters, secrets, danger, passion, and emotions that each tale offers. Andresen's tapestry of intrigue, romance, and personal redemption shines brilliantly, and she surpasses expectations with Bella and Gris's story. As the series reaches its conclusion, the yearning for more lingers. The chemistry between Bella and Gris was enchanting, and I felt a tinge of sadness as it ended.

Tammy Andresen’s masterful storytelling and her ability to weave intricate narratives filled with emotion and suspense make this series unforgettable. Her skill in drawing readers into the lives and loves of her characters has set the Lords of Las Vegas series apart as a truly remarkable literary journey, I look forward to whatever she brings us next.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

👑King of deception, Tammy Andresen
184 pagini (Lords of Las Vegas, #6)

👑Posibile spoilere!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Arabella Kincaid’s story? Worth. The. Wait.

Tammy Andresen saved one hell of a finale for the Kincaid siblings with King of Deception. It’s sexy, fast, emotionally layered, and downright addictive. Think: forbidden lovers + family enemies + accidental wrong-room hookup that spirals into everything.

Arabella has always been the baby Kincaid—the one everyone tries to shelter, the one no one expects to break the rules. But in this book? She’s done being caged. Done playing nice. Done letting everyone else decide her future. Enter Gris Smith.

The moment she stumbles (okay, maybe drunkenly stumbles) into the wrong hotel bungalow in Maui and finds Gris in the shower? I was hooked. Instantly. And so was she. The chemistry? Nuclear. But what makes it even better? He’s not just a hot stranger. He’s the enemy. Literally—the Smiths and Kincaids have history, and not the cute kind.

Gris starts off calculating, hiding behind motives and manipulation. He’s here to break her engagement for reasons of his own. But Arabella? She’s not a pawn. She’s a wildfire. And before he knows it, he’s the one falling. Hard. Fast. No brakes.

Their banter is electric. The tension is high. The stakes? Even higher. But the heart of the book is in how they slowly strip each other down (emotionally and, well, you know). He starts seeing her as more than the princess everyone tries to protect. She sees through his polished, ruthless mask and gets to the lonely, guarded man underneath.

And can we talk about how satisfying it is to see Arabella finally step out of the shadows and claim her own story? She’s fierce, messy, soft, and strong all at once. Watching her fall in love without losing herself? That’s the good stuff.

This book had everything I love:
🔥 Enemies-to-lovers
🔥 Forbidden romance
🔥 One-night-turned-everything
🔥 Touch her and you die vibes
🔥 Family drama
🔥 And of course… Gris being absolutely gone for her

King of Deception isn’t just the steamy series finale—it’s the soul of the Lords of Las Vegas. Tammy Andresen wrapped this series with fire, heart, and a reminder that love can come from the unlikeliest of places—even a drunken hotel mix-up in paradise.

If you’ve been riding with the Kincaids from book one, this ending delivers. If you haven’t started yet? You’re missing one hell of a ride.

King of Deception
Lords of Las Vegas #6
By Tammy Andresen

It may be hot in Hawaii, but it’s even hotter in that beach bungalow. To many drinks, lots of regrets have Arabellea Kincaid stumbling into the wrong bungalow but there are no regrets when she finds a hot sexy brit in the shower….no regrets at all!

An engagement she needs to end, another night to two or more with the brit she stumbled into last night weigh heavy in her thoughts while flying home. She’s made up her mind, she is going to break up with Preston Wingate, tell her oldest brother Mason she can’t carry through with his plan and then take some time to figure out why some of her other brothers are not talking to her. Oh and she plans on spending a lot of time thinking of the man of her dreams.

Gris Smith, well Lord Griswald Smith has a plan as well. His endgame is to breakup the engagement of Arabella and get Mason Kincaid to honor their original agreement and if using Bella helps well, he’s ready to spend more time with her. What Gris, the man who doesn’t do gooey when it comes to women doesn’’t know is he might be facing more “goo” than he has ever had to deal with.

Readers get lots of heat and spice whenever Bella and Gris are together and when threats are made regarding Bella’s safety, things become clearer to Gris, that his heart is far move involved than he realized. He might have had one plan, but now he has to think of another one to keep Bella safe and make sure Mason and the rest of the Kincaid men won’t come after him.

This was a quick read! The storyline moved quickly, the Kincaid brothers need to realize Bella isn’t a child anymore. She has a mind oh her own and yes, ma’am she used her words when they were needed! Loved this story….and it looks like the Smith brothers might be next to get a story in Las Vegas.

King of Deception is an intoxicating blend of sizzling chemistry and high-stakes intrigue. At the heart of the story are Arabella “Bella” Kincaid and Lord Griswald “Gris” Smith, two strong-willed individuals whose desires and goals collide in the most electrifying way.

Bella, vibrant and determined, is at a crossroads in her life—facing an engagement she’s no longer sure she wants and family pressures that feel suffocating. After a night of celebrating with girlfriends in Hawaii (courtesy of her brother), she heads to her room - too many drinks and too many regrets cause her to enter the wrong beach bungalow, but finding a hot, sexy man in the shower is not regrettable!

Gris, an English lord with his own agenda, is equally determined to break Bella’s engagement for his own reasons. He’s calculated and strategic, but he never anticipated the pull Bella would have on him. He doesn’t do romance, and yet, the fire between them is impossible to ignore. As threats emerge and emotions deepen, he realizes that Bella is more than just a pawn in his plan—she’s becoming the one thing he can’t risk losing.

The author masterfully pens a steamy romance with compelling character dynamics, keeping readers hooked as Bella and Gris navigate their complex desires. Their chemistry is off-the-charts, making this book a passionate, fast-paced read that leaves you breathless. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

The best one and it’s way too short at barely 174 pages. It’s too rushed.

Unbelievable! For me this is definitely the best book of the series and it only gets 174 pages, compared to the others at nearly 400! It’s not brilliant but I really liked Gris and Bella.

Bella is on her last girls holiday before she gets married to Preston. Thanks to her brother Mason forcing her to marry him. Preston is a snob who Mason thinks will benefit the family and bring him money and connections in. Bella at the beginning of the book is too weak and gets treat like dirt by everyone. It’s really annoying. She does stand up for herself eventually but it takes a while. When Bella is drunk and goes into the the wrong hotel room, she meets Gris who is there to seduce her away from Preston.

When she gets back home she doesn’t expect to see Gris again but she’s horrified when he blackmails her about the tunnel and Mason. I really felt sorry for Bella at the beginning as everyone is using her her to her what they want and she doesn’t know if she can trust anyone.

As the book is so short they meet nearly have s*x, he blackmails her, then they’re madly in love with each after a week. It’s too fast and too short. Mason is awful in this book. The worst he’s been so far. He doesn’t seem to care about poor Bella at all.

While I think it’s the best one yet, there’s a lot of mistakes in the plot again.

I was a little confused by this one. I didn't know if it was actually mafia or if it was just businessman who were also criminals. I just didn't know. It was a fun and ridiculous read though.

Arabella is trapped in an engagement to someone who she doesn't even think likes her but she feels like she needs to continue to help her family with business connections. She is on a bachelorette vacation when she accidentally walks into the wrong villa to find Gris. Arabella gets carried away and has a one night stand with Gris only to find out that he is a rival to her family and he is going to blackmail her into breaking off her engagement.

I honestly really enjoyed this story. I really liked Gris as a character. He did trap Arabella into a one night stand under false pretenses (but honestly she was into it the whole time) and he was basically immediately all about her. I was also really glad that Arabella basically broke it off with the guy she was engaged to right away and it wasn't dragged out.

I really liked all of the relationship dynamics between the main characters. I will say that I was confused by the dynamics between Gris and his brothers. His worries for their reaction after getting with Arabella didn't make a ton of sense to me. I also didn't understand Arabella's brothers either. However, the main romance was a super fun read.

I would read this book again and I think I would recommend it if you enjoy kind of ridiculous romance.

A New Author To Me

I saw this book advertised on a Facebook reel. It appealed to me and even though it is book 6 of 6 in the series I didn’t want to wait to read it. It didn’t disappoint. The story centers around Bella, the only girl in a family of very strong men. Their father was a gangster. But the next generation wants to move away from that. They own casinos in Vegas. Bella is engaged to Preston, whose family is old wealth. Their money was made with the Rockefellers. Unfortunately the current family isn’t as savvy about making money and need to marry well. While Bella’s family do need more cash her marriage to Preston would bring in valuable contacts. Then she accidentally goes into Gris’ room at the resort where she and her bridesmaids are holding their bachelorette party. She’s had too much champagne. When she realizes her mistake she starts to leave. But Gris has other ideas. He’s drop dead gorgeous and his accent seals the deal. Gris has his reasons for keeping Bella too. The story unfolds and is a great read. I’ve found a new favorite author. Looking forward to reading books 1-5.

King of Deception was a really good book to also end the series. I liked both Arabella and Gris. It's also the perfect way to start the new series about the Smith Brothers. Finally, we got to know more about all of the Smiths. Arabella is very strong. At the start she just did things to please everyone around her but then as time progressed, she finally learned that she should put her own needs first. I loved Gris as well. He's there for Arabella and would move heaven and the earth for her.

I read King of Depravity before I read any of the Lords of Las Vegas books because I didn't realise that it's kind of based on this series. Still I'm looking forward to also later on reading about Triston. In general about the whole Lords of Las Vegas books, I really liked the characters and also there development. The only person that sometimes pissed me off (and I don't know if I'm alone with that) is Mason. I mean I kinda understand where he's coming from, but still the things he did with Luke and now in this book with Arabella are just a little annoying. I still love him as a character though. Just like the other Lords of Las Vegas books, King of Deception is 5/5⭐ for me.

I waited to read the complete series before posting a review.

*These books need a better editor. A lot of simple grammatical errors. With that being said, overuse of the word "cum".

*Mentally I'm referring this series as "Viva Las Virgins". This what I'm struggling the most with this series. Women over 20, living in Vegas, four out of five are virgins? I get it's part of the their stories, but it just a little too far fetch from the reality.

*Confusion of family loyalty. While this was part of how the series was complied, it was equally intriguing as it was frustrating. There were one or two moments that it annoyed me.

While these are the areas that I struggled with, overall these are entertaining. I read these pretty fast...and I will continue to read because I'm invested and I need to know what happens with the next family in this series.

My review for this entire series is 3.5 closer to 4. It's entertaining.
