I do not recall how this was suggested but I am disappointed I read this in it's entirety. The prose is very much fanfiction and the romance is odd and one-sided without depth. Not foe me.
⭐Stars: 5/5 🌶Spice 4/5 ”What if I told you you’ve been gravely mistaken about everything?”
Some books entertain. Some books leave an impression. And then there are books like Deadly Nights - The Awakening - a dark, refreshing vampire romance that grabs you by the soul, drags you through its intoxicating world, and leaves you on the other side utterly wrecked 💥 And the wildest part? This is a debut! 🌟 I picked up this book on a whim, drawn in by its stunning cover. But what I found inside? A phenomenal universe.💫 🩸The Writing – Unique. It’s like stepping into a dimension where time blurs. The 3rd-person multi-POV style took me a second to adjust to, but once I did? I lived this story. Every shift in perspective felt intentional, pulling deeper into these characters, this world, and the chaos unfolding around them.⚡ 🩸The Worldbuilding – I don’t throw the word masterpiece around lightly, but here we are. The depth of this vampire universe? The history? Unreal. Other vampire stories (yes, even the beloved ones) suddenly feel... pale in comparison. 🤯 🩸The Magic System – Intricate, fresh, and layered. Give me an ancient library and a few centuries, and I’d happily spend them unraveling every secret in this universe. 🪄 🩸The Characters… Mia Auralis. She’s young, inexperienced, and at first I wasn’t sure about her. But as the story unfolds, you realize - that’s the point. She is the contrast to this ancient, dangerous world. And then we have Nikolas Sargon & Leon Sokolov… Two dangerously alluring, powerful men you’d sell your soul for. No hesitation. No regrets 😈 🖤 The darkness in this book? It’s not just the kind you see - it’s the kind you feel. 🫀 🌶 And the spice? Whoa. 4/5! Chapter 35? 🥵 Yeah. That’s a whole different level of heat. You’ve been warned. 🔥 I just finished the last page, and my mind is still trapped in this world. And honestly? I hope it never leaves. 💖 #TeamNikolas (pls don’t make me regret this, Sythiana…) 😄🤭
📌 If you skip Poems of a Mad Mind? You’re missing out on something that cuts straight to the soul.

I know it's a long review, but in a world of a 3-second span, I want to underline why this story matters more than we may realize. In the vast world of modern literature, where stories often follow familiar patterns, Deadly Nights – The Awakening stands out with its complex and captivating storytelling. It draws readers into a detailed world full of surprises and hidden meanings at every turn. Some might find the novel's intricacy challenging, preferring simpler stories. Yet, precisely this depth makes the work unique, weaving together intricate plots and richly developed characters. In a world filled with predictable tales, the layers of complexity in this story showcase the author's ambition to create a narrative that resonates on various levels. Rather than just typical characters, these individuals are crafted with profound depth, showcasing their complex motivations and desires that mirror real human (and supernatural) experiences. This intentional complexity encourages readers to delve deeper, to see beyond the surface, and to appreciate the nuanced balance of light and darkness woven throughout the story. By embracing its elaborate structure and intricate character portrayals, Deadly Nights – The Awakening offers a reading experience that is both intellectually engaging and emotionally impactful. It serves as a reminder that in storytelling, complexity is a strength - enhancing the narrative and providing readers with a journey that is both fulfilling and thought-provoking. For those willing to explore its depths, the novel delivers a profound exploration of lasting themes that resonate even after finishing the last page. It underscores that in both literature and life, the most intricate paths often lead to the most enlightening destinations.

This draws the attention of Nikolas Sargon, a powerful and ancient vampire, and Leon Sokolov, his ruthless commander. * High-Stakes Conflict: Witches seek to harness Mia's power for their own ends, while vampires fear her as an existential threat. Overall: Deadly Nights: The Awakening is a captivating read for fans of dark fantasy and paranormal romance. Its intriguing premise, complex characters, and intense romance make it a compelling and entertaining story.
From the very first page, Deadly Nights: Awakening reaches out and pulls you into a world that is both terrifying and seductive, where the lines between passion and brutality blur, and no character escapes unscathed. Sythiana has crafted a masterpiece that is unapologetically dark, intricately woven, and utterly unforgettable. The characters in this story are not heroes in the traditional sense—they are flawed, dangerous, and often monstrous... Yet, it’s impossible not to be drawn to them, even as they commit unspeakable acts. The lore in this book is unlike anything I’ve read before. Sythiana doesn’t just create a world; she creates a universe, layered with ancient rituals, forbidden magic, and dark histories that feel as though they’ve existed long before the first page was written. Every detail—the symbols, the traditions, the power struggles—adds to the weight of the story. It’s the kind of book that makes you think. You’ll want to take notes, reread passages, and lose yourself in its depth. It’s hauntingly beautiful. If you think you know dark romance, this book will prove you wrong. It’s not a story about love conquering all—it’s about love twisting and burning in ways you never expect. The relationships are raw, dangerous, and deeply layered, with moments of shocking brutality and aching tenderness. The steamy scenes are...oh, unforgettable. This is not a book for the faint of heart. It’s a tale for those who crave stories that challenge their morals, and make them question what it means to love and to lose.
Sythiana has set the stage for something extraordinary, and I, for one, am already counting the days until book two.
I had been anticipating this book for weeks. The author’s videos on Tik Tok and IG piqued my curiosity along with the tiny little hints in her captions. She did not disappoint.
From the moment I picked it up I was fully immersed in the world of Leon, Nikolas & Mia. Each of them had their own backstory that added to the depth of the character. There were detailed explanations to new concepts in this world that helped me understand who they were as people. Leon, Mia & Nikolas are not characters in a book. To me, they were written in such a way that for a short time I was immersed in their world and viewing them as real people.
I will fully admit that based on the videos alone I expected to be a Leon & Mia shipper but as I kept reading, I found myself suddenly rooting for Nikolas & Mia while also still wanting more Leon & Mia (I’m so indecisive).
Neither of these men are straight up heroes or villains. Both do what needs to be done even when we as a reader can’t understand their motives or why they’d act in such a way. In any case, nothing prepared me for the plot twist at the end. I screamed when I realized what had happened. I won’t give away a spoiler but the way it ended has me highly anticipating and counting down for the sequel.
What an absolutely captivating world…vampires, witches, wolves, dark possessive love, spicy all consuming scenes…This book has it all. I honestly absolutely adored the complexity of this story and love triangle. I adore the fact the author doesn’t ’dumb down’ magic and the darker ways, the way some authors do- the world of magic and lust and power with all the complex details shows the authors love and understanding for building this entire world. You need to use your brain to keep up with the twists and turns of the magic and background, delving into the dark realms. I love the complexity of it!! The obsessive love is described in such a way it consumes you whilst reading. The love triangle unfolds in unpredictable ways, I expected to have a firm favourite of who I was rooting for Mia’s affection, but as the story progresses I found it harder and harder to decide. I desperately am wishing for more Leon and Mia scenes because I was obsessed with their scenes!! But I am sure lots more that is to come in book two.
I cannot wait for the author to write book two, as I NEED to see what happens next, and need to read more of their love! This is a world and story that will really stick with you and play around your head even days after you’ve finished reading!
Sythiana’s Deadly Nights – The Awakening is a dark and ambitious vampire romance that delivers a heavy plot, creative world-building, and a storyline packed with surprises. The novel weaves an intricate web of mystery, power struggles, and supernatural intrigue, keeping readers engaged with its unpredictable twists and compelling character arcs. The premise is fresh, blending ancient vampire lore with divine origins in a way that feels both unique and gripping.
However, while the story itself is immersive, the mechanics of the writing make it a challenging read. Dialogue tags are frequently punctuated incorrectly, verb tense shifts within the same sentence, and the point of view often changes from one paragraph to the next, making it difficult to stay grounded in the narrative. These technical issues pull the reader out of the experience, preventing full immersion into an otherwise fascinating world.
Despite these flaws, Deadly Nights – The Awakening is still an enjoyable read for fans of dark paranormal romance who can look past structural inconsistencies. If you're drawn to complex plots and unexpected twists, this book has plenty to offer, but be prepared to navigate through some rough prose along the way.
“Deadly Nights – The Awakening” is an absolutely fantastic book and I devoured it. It has everything that makes a good book for me. The story is good and captivating, the world structure, the characters and their development – everything just fits together. And the writing style is also fluid and easy to read and you just have a wonderful mental movie. I’m looking forward to the sequel and hope I don’t have to wait too long.
As it’s very difficult for me to find a good book at the moment, “Deadly Nights” was a really positive surprise. I can’t understand most of the hyped recommendations from Booktook. Bad storys/plots, no good character developments and not to mention the mostly flat writing styles. I won’t even start on the grammar and spelling.
I definitely recommend reading it for anyone who likes vampires, fantasy mixed with real life, witches, magic, a bit of spice, anti-heroes, it’s not all good or evil.
First things first I thought this would just be a fun dark romance steamy book. NOPE! If you want something that you don’t have to mentally think about this book isn’t it: the world building, story building and ancient information is overwhelming. I had to re read some pages. I also took notes throughout the book. That being said the intro is pretty dark. The Mmc compels and rapes a human woman, than murders her. It put me off Nikolas the whole book. These are morally black men. They manipulate for their own gain. I really fell in love with Leon and he is who I would say would burn the world but is amazing to Mia and treats her well. I enjoyed the book but I definitely felt like an overwhelming amount of information dumped on me the whole book. I’m guessing it’s setting up for book 2. I enjoyed the book mostly and am curious to see where book 2 goes
I’m looking forward to the sequel and hope I don’t have to wait too long. This story had me so intraced It felt like I was right there in the pages of the book That I was watching this story unfold through Mia's eyes and I loved it. I was torned between Leon Sokolov and Nikolas Sargon but through Mia I learned to love them both. They will remain apart of me forver I absolutely give this book a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ And the Spice off the charts 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
I loved this book! Witches, magic, Vampires, Demons, Lilith & Lucifer, it has everything. If you like abduction, forced proximity, an extreme age gap, with lots of lore, you will absolutely fall in love with this book. It's a slow burn, but trust me, when the spice hits, it hits. I could not get enough, and can't wait to read the next one. Would absolutely recommend!
An excellent, original story that pulled me in like I was watching a film unfold before my eyes. I read in one of the author's comments that she saw the story in her head roll like a film before writing it, and being ADHD myself, I loved her style and pace, it's refreshing. I devoured this book in 4 days and cannot wait for the second one.
I was super excited to read because I love the genre. Once I got into it, I discovered it was very choppy and POV changes within the same paragraph. The grammar and writing itself need some serious edits. It felt like it was written by AI to be honest. Had so much potential but the writing made it a DNF for me. I tried my best and tried to push through, but could only make it to about 75%.
I feel like I want to go back in time and visit Prague. The story and world building were impeccable. You want to loath them both, but you can't as they both love her in their own way.
Amazing book! I red it in only 3 days. Thrilling and romantic, erotic...a perfect book. Love it, and the author has been fantastic writing this story, she has had an high capacity to involve me into the story between Leon and Mia....100%
This book turned out to be a chore to finish. Everything felt messy and jumbled with the author wanting to create epic moments, but unwilling to put the effort into transitions in order to actually make them work.
Ok so uh. If you have a short attention span you’re gonna hate this. It’s from everyone’s point of view all the time. It has the potential to be a good story but my god the execution was just so bad. Do I regret paying for this? Kinda yes. Did I still finish it? Yes.
DNF at 50% - I really wanted to like this book. Maybe I’ll come back to it. I think this book has a great premise and its characters are solid but it’s more a telling us than a showing us so it feels disjointed. Feels like I’m reading a first draft.
I enjoyed this work of art immensely. I won’t give away any plots. I only will say it opens another realm. Witches, vampires, wolves and all are blood thirsty and want a piece or all of the FMC!
Dark, twisty, easier world building to follow. You get to the end and you aren't expecting it! Can not wait for the next book, well i hope there is one!
In true fashion of a first time indie author, there are lots of edits that need to be made but hot damn this was a good book. I was 100% invested and can’t wait to read the next.
