I really loved the author's points about keeping special art supplies until you find the right moment for them (something with fancy paper or unusual binding, for instance). It allowed me to speak gently to myself about something I've beaten myself up over way too much in life.

The instructions were straightforward and clear. Each step of carving had photos with it. I didn't like that the photos in the eBook version were extremely small and you couldn't zoom in. That could just be a Libby issue, however.

I do very poorly emotionally with small arts and crafts when literally anything goes wrong, so I'm hesitant to try this and find myself getting angry at the medium itself. This is a me problem.

As an art book in general, I learned useful terminology and composition stuff that I haven't seen elsewhere. I think the author is so sincere and great at teaching others, and I would absolutely take a class from her.

This book was beautifully written with a combination of instruction and personal stories that I just found so charming. The technical aspect of the book was really helpful. I think anyone at any level could benefit from reading this book and gaining insight from her personal experience. I loved the tone of the book. It was really fun and encouraging if you were looking to be inspired and just start creating. I highly recommend reading this book. Serena makes it easy for anyone to just start. You’ll be happy gave it a shot.

Delightful! The kind of book that makes me go woah, people are so creative, while also being really informative on the whole process of making eraser stamps from design to completion.
