کتاب مناسبی برای یادگیری تاکتیک های شطرنج است. در ترجمه فارسی 50 مدل طرح برای گرفتن امتیاز و یا مات کردن بررسی شده است که در قالب درسی جداگانه بیان شده است. هر درس با معرفی طرح و تاکتیک شروع شده و معمولا با چهار یا پنج مثل جهت تثبیت موضوع پیش رفته است.

Fantastisch, Kurzweilig, Lustig und vor allem Lehrreich. Nicht vom Titel abschrecken lassen. Da sind auch sehr gute Sachen für Erwachsene drin. Als Referenz: Zum Zeitpunkt als ich das gelesen habe, war ich etwa 1500 DWZ/ELO. Bis dato habe ich in meinem Leben bestimmt über 1000 Schachaufgaben gemacht. Und trotzdem habe ich dem Buch extrem viel abgewinnen können.

Die Lektionen sind kurz, prägnant und vor allem witzig: Seitdem ich dieses Buch gelesen habe wünsche ich mir irgendwann auch mal eine Stellung mit wildgewordenen Turm und einer Kamikaze-Dame zu haben.

Definitive Leseempfehlung für Schachanfänger und Fortgeschrittene, die Schönheit von taktischem Schach mit einer netten Portion Humor verbinden möchten. Und das alles kurzweilig in 5-Minuten interaktiven Lektionen verpackt.

This book is a lot more difficult than the title would suggest. The first 12 or so tactics are way too simple, but after that it does something I haven't seen in any other book: it gives a name to common recurring tactics. So for example, instead of saying "fork" or "pin." it will be "a common discovered attack in the king's indian" or "a common trap in the caro-can." My favorites were the common bishop sacrifices on f7. All of the tactics were bangers and extremely helpful. I will say, going through this book once was not enough and I will likely revisit it in the future.
