Phil Coulson Doesn't Work for StarkIndustries

Rate this book
Fandom: The Avengers
Relationships: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson
--------------------------------------------------
Sleeping with a super hero is great, until he becomes a little restless at night. Tony Stark, not the easiest sleeper himself, knows his way around a nightmare, but what do you do when protecting the ones you love leads to unexpected international incidents? Subtitled: lying to Steve Rogers is much harder than it looks.

Phil Coulson's the one in charge of writing this nonsense up, and he does not work at StarkIndustries.

Feels, the snarky humor without which Tony wouldn't be Tony and which he appreciates in others, and the unexpected, exciting yet ridiculous action-caper he lands himself (and consequently the team) in while evading the messy, full-of-significant-feels relationship discussion he (accurately) predicts. The final solution to the genuine problem/risk at issue is smart and uniquely theirs.
Oh, plus another terrific multifaceted OC dragged against her will into the Tony-vortex.
N.b., I added the content warning tag, for discussion of domestic abuse.
On a lighter note, there's also a fun bit related to Chris Evans's other role as hacker Jensen in The Losers.
At 32K, this one isn't even really a short!
