Scooby, Shaggy, and their friends are enjoying the rides at Thrill Rides theme park, but a mishap on one of the rides causes them to search for a ghost haunting the roller coaster.
I’ve seen the episode this book is based off of a ton of times so I knew exactly what was going to happen each step of the way. Overall I thought the book was very well done. For the most part, everything happened just as it had in the story but there was a part or two that was a little different. There was a part where it said Fred, Daphne, and Velma ran up to Shaggy and Scooby but then only a couple of paragraphs later Velma ran up to the group so that should have been fixed in editing but obviously it was missed. Other than that the writing was pretty good and the author did a great job summarizing the episode. The pictures mostly went along with the story. Some were taken right out of the episode but others were just random pictures and were sometimes not totally accurate. Overall though I would recommend this book for Scooby fans.
Read in the bath— nice little lighthearted break from my current re-read of Wuthering Heights. Not my favorite What’s New Scooby Doo? But I do love a good theme park!🎢
Michael, age 5, loves all Scooby-Doo books! He loves the fact that they are mysteries. He loves the humor. In this book, he likes the silliness about Scooby's love of food--how Scooby saves his submarine sandwich in the midst of the action. My 4 year old loves the Scooby Doo cartoons and was so excited to find this book at a yard sale. We read this in one sitting and he loved it and wants to read it everyday. I now have to look for more Scooby Doo books.
