A reunion gone wrong! When a woman reunites with her high school boyfriend at a matchmaker, things do not go how she imagined in this shojo/josei romcom.Hiromi is suddenly reunited with her high school boyfriend--at a professional match-making service! But their reunion isn't a sweet one, because he doesn't seem to remember Hiromi at all. In fact, he starts making wild accusations that make her question all her memories from back then. This sharp-tongued stranger is like an entirely different person from the guy she remembers! Is this a match doomed to fail?
I really really liked the beginning of this volume a lot!
Hiromi was a compelling character and I found that her motivations were more realistic than I originally expected! I was VERY unsure if I could relate to her or at least feel engaged by her character, but seeing her struggles in trying to overcome her past love really spoke to me. I think it was specifically that she was not willing to compromise about what she wore or how she acted during her dates. She treated matchmaking like a battleground and did what she could, but I loved how she asked if she compromised, would it really matter in the end anyway (paraphrasing there) because I definitely agree that there is no guarantee it was worth her doing so if she didn't get married.
Granted, I wouldn't want her to anyway because as someone who is finally learning and living out trying not to compromise myself, I became very excited about how non-passive she was! I was cheering for her and felt myself emotional on her behalf as she learned things about Senpai and how he felt because she has been trying so hard and can't even begin to imagine how much that stung by things he said!
However, I felt the last part was not nearly as exciting because while the resolution was beautiful, it felt like a quick "rush" to the finish line, leaving me feeling slightly disappointed. I WAS thankful how this volume could be read as a standalone because it DID have a good ending! I just think the romance really wasn't the highlight for me, making me wish we could have focused on a longer journey with Hiromi.
Overall, I enjoyed this one! I'm unsure if I'll get volume two, but it's one I would recommend if you're looking for a quick josei read!
This was cute and surprisingly emotional. It wasn't perfect, I don't like the last minute character switch for what would be considered the other love interest. I also despise the aunt for a multitude of reasons. But the leads are cute and Hiromi especially is a great character. She's not afraid to call Tsutsumi out on some of his bullshit, and she undergoes some important character growth by the end. This could be one volume, but I'm glad there's one more because I want to see the romance taken to the next level.
Oh, this was such a wasted opportunity to be great. The beginning really pulled me in, with two people meeting again after many years and the male protagonist not even recognizing the female protagonist at first. It had so much potential for a touching, slow-burn story about reacquainting as adults rather than another rushed teenage-style romance.
Unfortunately, the pacing completely collapsed toward the end. Instead of letting the characters breathe and develop naturally, the story hurried toward a semi-conclusion within the first volume. This left the characters feeling flat, when with a little more time and care they could have had real depth and emotional impact.
It is a shame, because I genuinely liked the art, the character designs, and even the slightly unconventional setup of how they met again. The groundwork was there for something heartfelt and memorable, but the execution felt too rushed to deliver on its promise.
I read/skimmed the first chapter online. The premise sounded good but I am not sure about the execution let alone the reasons as why her high school left her so heartbroken.
He was such an asshole when they met again and he didn't even recognize her. He just started judging her. I just felt like he was going with the flow, and only acted on his feelings when he didn't want her to end up with someone else, not like he turned out to be a good guy either.
I will probably read this again once I get my hands on the last volume. Maybe the way it ends and the relationship progression will change my mind.

This was a sweet story, and the characters were well-developed, but it was difficult to root for them as a couple because they just seemed poorly matched because Tsutsumi is a dick. Nevertheless, it's believable specifically because lots of people do have long-lasting crushes on people that they probably shouldn't. Ultimately, I wanted better for the MC.
This has more volumes, but it felt complete as a one-shot, so I won't read any further.
I wasn’t expecting their first date to be an almost sex encounter. The aunt situation is also weird, and she’s strongly unlikable. Hiromi however is a strong sweet character who grows through the volume. While this can be read as a standalone, the ending feels rushed in “fixing” things between Hiromi and Tsutsumi. I’d probably give volume two a shot.

Overall, it felt one-dimensional. I didn’t care for either characters because I had no reason to care. In actuality, the aunt had a better story, and I would’ve preferred both volumes to be entirely about her.
