Rate this book
Can two best friends overcome their age gap and the past to become something more?

Phoebe Cordle moved to Redemption Ridge after experiencing loss and was grateful to find a ranching town where she could start her own equine therapy practice. She also found a confidante in a handsome and generous man nine years her junior who's captured the attention of all the single ladies in their community—including her own. However, after zero signs of interest on Milo’s part for the past six years, she’s given up hope and decides to help him find love instead.

Milo Gibson wants nothing more than to give Phoebe a taste of romance. He’s been biding his time though, patiently waiting as she grieved, and trying to be the most supportive friend possible. Whether it’s being her movie buddy or catching cockroaches in her apartment, he’s always ready to come to Phoebe’s rescue. But when she starts playing matchmaker for him, he knows it’s time to save himself before she sets him up on another blind date, and finally come clean about how much she means to him.

When Phoebe is forced out of her home and into Milo’s for an indefinite amount of time, the two friends find themselves in the midst of unexpected chemistry and challenges. Will they take this opportunity to navigate their relationship out of the friend zone for good?

Return to Redemption Ridge, Colorado and enjoy the faith, friendships, and forever-afters in this Christian Christmas Romance.

Friends-to-more are always my favorite romances, and Milo and Phoebe are the sweetest. I loved the patience that both of them showed and the gradual turning of their relationship from friends to more. This is another amazing addition to the Christmas in Redemption Ridge series!

Review:
This is the 5th book of the Christmas in Redemption Ridge Series Season 2. These two are just so adorable together. Milo is just so sweet to Phoebe and treat her like a queen. Age doesn’t matter in love however most of the time people often will like to say something about age gap especially when it is like a large age gap. And a woman in her late forties people will think that she will not be able to bear children anymore well it is true to that but you will never know though because God can make miracles happen. Love that Milo assured her that he is the only woman that he wants to marry and also though she pushed him away he still continues try to win her heart and prayed for God’s wisdom and he is so patient and waited for her and gave her time because he believes in God’s timing. Love that they encourage each other too. And everyone in town is rooting for them and been waiting for them to be together and also even try to matchmake them (can’t spoil it read then you will know) And also there are some people that don’t support the relationship but love that they continue to rely on God for strength and patience to help them through.

P. S. I really want to experience the Barn dance.

What I learn:
Believe in God’s timing and also continue to pray for the relationship whether is that the right person that He had chosen for you and also once when you are in the relationship continue to put God first in your relationship.

I was gifted complimentary ARC. All opinions are my own Thanks to @author.liwenho for the ARC.

Can’t wait to read the stories from this series. It’s a collaboration of a few amazing authors.

This was a sweet book to read. I like best friends-to-lovers stories, and this one has an even more interesting twist. Their friendship has been strong for over six years, and yet, there are still issues keeping them from sharing their heart with each other. The two main characters are different in age. How would you feel if the one you had feelings for was several years, either younger or older than you? This is what both characters are dealing with. Can they get beyond that and finally acknowledge their love for each other?
I truly enjoyed how author Liwen Y. Ho presented this story. She had a tender way of sharing age issues in a relationship. It was a story rich in the emotions of the characters and relatable to the reader.
Liwen Y. Ho has become one of my favorite “go-to” authors. Her stories are packed full of sweet lessons from God and how He loves us. They also have beautiful examples woven throughout on how to cherish relationships.
Her writing is smooth, and the story flows with wonderful characters and dialogue. I had a problem not wanting to put this book down.
If you like tender stories of love, friendships, and overcoming many issues, then this is a book you will want to read. I highly recommend you pick it up!
I was given this book by the author, which did not influence my review in any way; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is book #11 in the Christmas in Redemption Ridge series written by multiple authors. This is the first book in the series I have read, and I enjoyed it! It is Christian based fiction.
Phoebe Cordle is an equine therapist and has lived in Redemption Ridge for six years. Phoebe is strong-willed but has a soft heart. Milo Gibson is a security guard and is Phoebe’s best friend. Phoebe is ten years older than Milo, but she is impressed by his maturity and thinks he would be a great catch for any young single woman. He is strong and sensitive, and makes Phoebe feel safe. Phoebe is not dating Milo, but they hang out together regularly. She feels that their situation has become too comfortable, and Milo should be out with people his own age.
Phoebe moved to Redemption Ridge, after she lost her boyfriend in an accident. It’s taken her time to trust again. Her feelings for Milo have been growing, but she feels her path is to walk alone. Milo wants nothing more than to tell Phoebe he loves her, but for now he will work on showing her his feelings and doting on her. Circumstances have Phoebe staying at Milo’s place temporarily. Will this give them both the push they need to move out of the friend zone?
Will Phoebe continue to trust in the Lord and Milo, so they have a shot at love? Also, can Phoebe win over Milo’s mother who thinks she’s after his money? Read this sweet story about friends becoming the best partners in life.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and my review is my own voluntary opinion.

Friends to lovers romance is one of my favorite tropes. The two main characters in this story have been best friends for 6 years. Phoebe Curdle moved to Redemption Ridge to start her own equine therapy practice after a tragic loss. She met and became best friends with Milo Gibson, who is 9 years younger than Phoebe.

It was easy to see that both Phoebe and Milo had deeper feelings for one another than the other wanted to admit. Phoebe was hung up on their age difference. She felt that Milo should marry a younger woman so he could have a family of his own. She is determined to play matchmaker for Milo. What she does not realize is that the only woman he cares to be matched with is her. It was so sweet to see her trying to care for him by planning his future all while she was also fighting feelings of her own. She was selfless in knowing if he married someone else, it would change their friendship forever.

This sweet romance was inspirational and emotional. The characters were easy to get to know and like. This author's writing style is always appealing because of the way the story and the characters are built so that you feel as if you have slipped into the book with them and lived for a little while you read their story.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was a sweet friends to lovers romance. I really enjoyed getting to read it and see Milo finally get his happy ending. Doting on His Best Friend is by Liwen Y Ho and it is the 11th book in the Christmas in Redemption Ridge multiple author series.
Milo was just the sweetest guy and I loved reading about him. He truly cared about Phoebe. I loved how he pursued her not pushing her but showing her that he cared. Phoebe was trying to figure out what she wanted in life. I liked getting to know Phoebe more and reading about her falling for Milo.
The romance was sweet and I loved Phoebe and Milo’s connection. They were friends who truly understood each oter. It was interesting to read about their relationship changing and seeing how they encourage each other. I enjoyed seeing old characters and I love the way that faith was woven into the story.
This was a clean and quick read. I would recommend Doting on His Best Friend to those who enjoy Ho’s other books. Doting on His Best Friend is a clean Christian contemporary romance.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.

Doting on His Best Friend is set in Redemption Ridge at Christmas. This is a great story of friends to more and the struggle to get there. Milo and Phoebe have been best friends for 6 years. Milo is patiently waiting for Phoebe to see him as more and move forward to marriage. But what a process to get there.

Milo has been the best friend Phoebe could ask while giving her time to recover from an old heartbreak. With their constant time together and shared activities, neither one can see the other's true feelings. Milo is beyond ready for marriage, but he is afraid to push Phoebe. When a creepy bug chases Phoebe out of her house, she has to stay with Milo for a bit. He sees this as his chance. As a counselor, Phoebe is amazing. But she struggles to follow her own advice. There are several struggles through the story in awkward blind date attempts, disapproving mother, and an age group. All of them hold your attention and keep you waiting for resolution. The entire community is cheering for a happily ever after to finally occur.

I definitely recommend this book. I was cheering right along side their friends.

I received an ARC copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my review with my honest opinion.

Redemption Ridge has been Phoebe's refuge for six years, and Milo her best friend for almost as long. But he clearly has no interest in more (right?), so it's time to find him a match to convince herself to move on from her crush on him. Milo knew Phoebe wasn't ready for romance when she first arrived, so he's been waiting patiently ever since, enjoying being her best friend until she's ready for more. But when she decides to take up matchmaking for him, it's time to put his heart on the line - if she's willing to listen...

A heartfelt and fun friends-to-more romance. Phoebe and Milo have so much going for them, and their friendship is amazing - but that of course makes it hard to risk trying 'more'. I enjoyed getting to know them both, and was delighted to see them finally make the move everyone else has been expecting for years. Phoebe's matchmaking was clumsy, but that added a note of humour and made it clear to Milo what was going on - ready for his campaign. A lovely addition to the series (though a complete standalone story), and I'm looking forward to more in future.

Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.

Although Milo and Phoebe have been best friends for about 6 years, their feelings have grown to possibly something more; but with several differences and life situations, neither is brave enough to look into the possibility of a love relationship. Phoebe wants to help Milo find a wife. He's 9 years younger than her and needs to settle down and start a family, and she's beyond child-bearing age (in her mind). After being best friends for years without an ounce of romance to show for it, can romance and marriage be a possibility? What will family and friends think? I enjoyed the thoughtfulness, respect, and kindness each showed the other in this clean romance as they considered each other's thoughts and feelings. The fact that Milo would drop everything to rescue Phoebe from a cockroach infestation or that Phoebe used her counseling skills to win over Milo's mother were interesting with a twist of humor. The only unrealistic fact that bothered me is that Phoebe never considers adoption as an alternative to having a child. Overall, a fun quick read. I recommend. I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.

Best friends for life!

Milo and Phoebe bring out the best in each other and they, secretly, want to be more. Phoebe is determined that she can’t be “the one” for Milo, and he is just as determined to make her see that she is the “only” one for him. Their journey has some cute and humors moments but also some life-changing decisions. They both are giving people with a servant’s heart. Their lives come together at the right time, in God’s time. Milo is a big teddy bear under his tall frame, and Phoebe needs someone who truly understands her. They make a good team.

A quick, easy read yet it is well-developed and flows well. The plot wasn’t action-packed, but we are allowed to see their true feelings and doubts. Their story is not the usual romance of young hearts and families, but HEA is different for everyone. I enjoyed reading it and it sits well into the series.

I received a complimentary copy and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.

It's so good to be back in Redemption Ridge for the season! I loved Milo and Phoebe's story and their road to more than friends. 😉 Milo is one sweet, romantic hero, and I loved how patient, caring, and understanding he was of Phoebe. As for Phoebe, it was cool to see her as a counselor in action and helping others around, but at the same time see her struggle to apply said advice to herself (we're all humans after all and this made her relatable). Also, my heart went out to her and the past that brought her to Redemption Ridge, but I'm really glad the community was so welcoming and supportive of her.

Fans of the series and new readers alike will enjoy past favorite traditions like the barn dance while getting to know (or getting updates on) other characters in this community. I loved the addition of Toby, and how many people were in Milo's corner, lol.

Overall, a great Christmas read (yes, there's mistletoe 😉), Christian Contemporary Romance (clean/sweet and swoony reverse age gap), and addition to this series. Can't wait to read more from this author! ~ 4.5 stars

Loved Phoebe and Milo's story!! Milo has loved his best friend for six years, and has been wanting to make their relationship more. However, he knew Phoebe wasn't yet ready for that. Phoebe thinks she's too old for Milo, and that he needs to be with someone his age or younger. Phoebe decides to set her best friend, Milo, up with three other women so he can find someone to date. Milo agrees to let Phoebe play matchmaker, and throws something else at her. When things take a turn, and Milo tells her how he feels, will Phoebe be able to get over her own hang ups about their age difference, and realize that she can't control everything, and that she's not really hung up on their age as much as she's afraid she might lose Milo. Love how Milo proves that he can and will be the spiritual head of their family, and that Phoebe should take a chance on Milo, and really trust God, too.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.

If you enjoy sweet Christian romances, chances are good that you will like this story. It has strong religious themes throughout the book. It is clean and accurately named, for he is very doting. I can't remember if Milo's exact age is mentioned but people in their upper twenties were notably younger than he and Phoebe is notably older than he as she is 48(?) I think. I don't know if he is in his 30s or lower 40s. Anyway, this only matters because the age difference bothers Phoebe and she wants Milo to have a chance to father children. It is on the unique side for romance books since not only is there a big age gap, but the hero is the younger one. I think in our society usually the male is the older one. Age difference aside, these two enjoy each other and six years into their friendship the need for their feelings to be addressed finally surfaced.
The story is pretty short and can easily be read in one sitting so curl up with your hot cocoa and favorite snack and enjoy...

I loved the connection Milo and Phoebe shared. As MCs they fed off the strengths of the other, and after having been friends for so long, they had a good idea how the other thought. She genuinely cared about his happiness and was willing to sacrifice her own to ensure he got his. (Thats true friendship and love.) Their friends, bless them, tried to fast-track these two, but everything happens in its own time.

I loved how excited Milo got when Phoebe opened that little door of conversation, until she slammed it on his heart. Oh, how I wanted to hug him! He was a smart, intelligent, attractive man. A man who knew what he wanted, and wasn't going to be detoured. He'd waited this long, now he needed a plan. Question was, would it be enough to sway the headstrong woman of his dreams?

This story had some mild angst given the personal dilemmas involved. Throw in parental interference and a car accident, well tensions are gonna rise. Will "they" make it out the other side? This was the first of this series I've read, and now I need to go back and read the others. It was so good!

Phoebe and Milo have been best friends for the past six years ever since she moved to Redemption Ridge. Though Milo is attracted to her, he patiently waits as she deals with grief over the years.

Their friendship is strong and steady and I loved how she thought of him first, in a moment of fear. As Phoebe starts to find herself attracted to him, her doubts surface too. She is nine years older than him and unable to give him children at her age. Though she tries to matchmake him with younger women, in Milo’s eyes, she is the only one for him.

I loved how Phoebe overcame the troubles in the third act with patience and grace. Mother-in-law troubles are so common and honestly one of the worst problems to “fix”. I liked how Milo didn’t take sides and helped to bridge the gap over time and with love.

This was a sweet, faith-filled quick read that is perfect for the Christmas season.

I enjoyed this sweet, lighthearted romance. Phoebe is a middle aged woman who is best friends with Milo, a younger man. That friendship has started feeling like more to Phoebe but she’s worried that her age will keep Milo from having a family that she feels he deserves. So Phoebe is determined to help her best friend find a bride. What she doesn’t know is Milo has been waiting for the right time to make his intentions known to Phoebe. The author does a great job exploring the idea of an older woman being with a younger man and the issues that could arise from that. I also love how the author weaves the characters’ faith in God into their decisions and shows how their uniqueness influences their relationships with others. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a sweet, quick, friends-to-more read.

A contemporary, Christian romance between a couple that had been best friends for six years. Milo had loved Phoebe most of those six years, but he accepted the best friend role because when Phoebe moved to Redemption Ridge she was grieving the loss of her fiance. Phoebe also kept Milo at arms length because she was several years older.

I really liked that they were finally able to discuss and share their feelings, and with God's help through prayer, they worked toward their happy-ever-after.

I recommend this clean romance. Read it for yourself and learn how Phoebe earned the title "mother-in-law whisperer". Also, Milo's proposal was unique and romantic. Definitely worth reading about.

This book is part of the 12 book series, Christmas in Redemption Ridge, written by various authors. Ho has also written the second volume, Remembering the Rancher. The main characters in that book show up in this new one, so if you have a chance to read it first, go ahead.

Doting on His Best Friend is a sweet story of best friends to lovers. There are obstacles along the way, including he is much younger than she is, his mother doesn’t approve, and she thinks he deserves a younger woman who can give him children.

I enjoyed reading the book and finding out how it all works out in the end.

Milo is a patient man, so patient that he has been waiting for six years to share his feelings with his best friend so she can have time to process her grief after losing her fiance in an accident six years ago. Phoebe loves Miles but because of their age gap, she doesn’t consider herself the best candidate to date him—so she decides she is going to set him up with a suitable younger woman who can give him a family. These two are caught in a limbo of sorts and it takes some divine nudging to help them find their way. I enjoyed this faith filled Christian romance and learning from this couple as they navigate between their personal desires and their desires for the other’s best. Enjoyable holiday read! I received an ARC. All opinions expressed are strictly my own.

Another enjoyable romance by Liwen Y Ho!

Phoebe and Milo have been best friends for the last six years, but Milo wants more. What will it take for the best friends to become the couple that everyone knows should be?

I enjoy the friends to more trope and this was such a sweet one, and even better that it was set during Christmas time! Milo was the sweetest and most patient mc and Phoebe was sweet and empathetic fmc. I was happy when Phoebe worked through her concerns with their relationship! It was also nice to see a female main character in her forties.

I enjoyed the plot, faith elements, and characters in this sweet Christmas romance!

Series: Christmas in Redemption Ridge (can be read as a standalone).
Tropes:
-best friends to more
-reverse age gap (she’s older).

A Christian romance that is a part of a wonderful series from multiple authors. The whole series is full of great characters and their stories but each book can also be read as a stand along. Liwen Ho never disappoints.A sweet love story unfolds between two long time friends. There are wonderful characters in the story familiar from other books in the series. I love how the author laces faith throughout the book and characters who pray and seek God's will. This is just a heart warming story written beautifully. The epilogue brings the ending looking forward to a bright future. A story you will enjoy from an author who is an automatic read for me.

Doting on His Best Friend was a sweet, soft love story. The story is set in December, but it is perfect for any time of the year, not just Christmas. Phoebe has had her heartbreaks, but she has come back stronger with time and her best friend Milo's constant presence. Milo has waited six years for Phoebe to be ready to be something more than friends. Even though both of them want the relationship, they have to overcome obstacles including an age gap where the woman is the older one in the relationship. Overall, the story is a cozy, faith-filled read and another wonderful story from Liwen Y. Ho.

I LOVED this book! Liwen has written an amazing book that will keep you spellbound. Phoebe and Milo have been best friends for six years. Phoebe is older than Milo and feels that he needs to connect with someone his own age. They both have a strong faith in God and this is shown beautifully throughout this sweet story. They go through some difficult times and with an upset mother thrown in the mix, it was quite a rollercoaster ride! Grab your copy to see how they overcome doubts and reach their HEA! WINNER 🥇🏆. The Redemption Ridge Series is FANTASTIC!! I can’t wait for the next one in the series!! Thank you for sharing your God given talent with us.

For six years Milo has been hoping his best friend, Phoebe, would begin to see him as more than a friend. Being a few years older than Milo and now in her 40's, Phoebe thinks the best thing she can do is set her friend up with younger dates much to his chagrin. Phoebe has a lot to overcome having tragically lost her fiance years earlier, but Milo is a patient suitor, and in spite of his mother's objections he determines to make Phoebe his wife. This is a delightful story of a friendship which grew into love in spite of the obstacles which I recommend.

A must read!

I have been waiting for Milo's story for a year now, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait! I got to know Milo in Remembering the Rancher Liwen's first book of the series - book 2 in numerical order - and I had to know his story! Milo is tough but tender and attentive to his best friend Phoebe before they even start dating, and while they face a few difficulties at the beginning, their faith shines through the story from start to finish. I enjoyed meeting Phoebe and am looking forward to seeing more of their family and where the Lord leads them in season three!

Phoebe and Milo have been best friends for several years. He's been in love with her the whole time, but he's waiting for her to show she's ready to move on after her loss.
They both so obviously care for one another that people assume they are “together, but keeping it on the down low.”

Well, she's recovered enough to see what a great guy he is. Any girl should be happy to date him, so she's gonna help him find his Someone Special.

Their story was sweet. It's a great addition to the series.

This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.

This was a quick Christmastime escape filled with warm fuzzies. Milo is such a teddy bear that it's easy to see why he is so endearing. At the same time, Phoebe has the best intentions for her best friend and demonstrates applied wisdom in her life, so it's a joy to cheer them on as they move through self-discovery to discovering a new type of relationship together. The counselling nuggets are lovely to come across, and provide insights into the characters’ motivations and behaviours. At the same time, Milo and Phoebe’s strong Christian faith guide them to be people who can love each other well.

I loved the cameo appearances of characters from Redemption Ridge and Freedom Ridge, further solidifying the strong community that the characters are surrounded by—both with friends and family. If you're looking for a sweet Christmas romance, this is a book that takes doting to the next level. Prayer is a consistent theme and it's a refreshing reminder to take all things to God and to trust Him for our needs and wants. This book sets the stage for a heartwarming seasonal read with plenty to delight readers, including charming banter and a fun new family member.

Loved this wonderful romance. Milo has loved Phoebe since they met and became best friends. Such patience he displays while waiting on God’s perfect timing. Phoebe is concerned about everyone else except herself. Ignoring her feelings for Milo, she tries to get him interested in younger women since she can’t give him his own children. Toby does his part to bring them together. Very satisfying ending and epilogue.

This was a sweet, romantic story in the Christmas in Redemption Ridge series.  I really liked Milo and his best friend, Phoebe.  They seemed perfect for each other except Phoebe did not think so because she was older than Milo. They were both afraid to rock the boat and lose their special friendship. I enjoyed learning about Phoebe's past and how both characters turned to God and what His plan was for them.  I liked how they got a little nudge from Toby too.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
