disappointment.

Authors have definitely lost their direction with Salvos. She’s been stuck in the Netherworld way too long and her story is getting repetitive and boring. There’s little humor with her anymore and her companions aren’t very interesting. You really need a good straight man for her to work off of. Daniel, Edithe, or the Vampire girls. There’s no Sal anymore for humor and Haec is a really dull character. The Rachel chapters were the best, but don’t appears in the 2nd half of the book and her storyline loses its best character, which was dramatic and one of the better parts of the story. The Daniel storyline was basically nothing. A few pages. Edithe and Willy’s adventure disappointed me. He was in just a few scenes and some things and stuff happened, but nothing too interesting.

Last couple books have been a bit of a slog

Maybe half this entire book was taken up with a single, honestly boring, fight that after a bit I just stopped caring about. Everytime someone was on the verge of being defeated..."oh check it my hidden trump card" and the fight would start up again i lost track of how many times this happened. I basically skimmed the last 100 pages of this book it was boring.

Feels like wasted time

I enjoyed a good 2/3rds of the book. But that random army leader character feels like it took way too much attention and time. There are so many unresolved plot lines and left out character progression because this fight took so much of the book. Feels like an episode of dragon ball z where one fight takes 5 episodes. And to not even spend the stat points u spent 15 PAGES ON is insane! Not a fan of this one author. There better be at least 6 more books coming.

Fun and simple

This book picks up seamlessly from the previous one. The characters remain interesting and their motivations are well handled.

This book is more straight forward than previous books in the series. There is less new world building and fewer new interesting places or people. That being said, there is plenty left to explore within the current world and characters. I wouldn't mind more of this more thorough exploration of the current world, but I do miss exploring new things as well.

Good but too short

Overall the book lives up to the expectations of the series. Some really transcendent writing and scenes - some battle scenes that go on a bit too long. My main compliant is that the book is short and doesn’t seem to resolve much of anything. Still, a good read and enjoyable

Web novels have ruined storytelling. Stories are only good because they have a conclusion. Web novels are just empty filler to create endless content. That is why a five star series ends up with one star junk. No one can continuously keep adding books to a story without ruining it.

Not the best

Had trouble reading this one. Fight scenes dragged on and on, long af for no reason. It was all very predictable
