The next book of the series! Law of the Jungle (Book 13):
Every so often, reality shatters all our expectations. The Bohao Cult's top brass have proven far too formidable an opponent for the Seekers to crush with a single strike. Our heroes are in dire need of new strength, new knowledge, and new techniques.
But where should they begin their search for those? The cultists have sealed off all access to the Primordial Soul and started a relentless hunt for House Bao.
Tensions ride terrifyingly high while Zander and Vyllea are once again forced to do the impossible. But who would expect anything less of the Seekers?

Vasily Mahanenko is a fantasy author working in the new genre of LitRPG - the MMO-based fantasy and sci fi. His Way of the Shaman series took Russian literature by storm in 2012.
Vasily dipped into his college-days insider knowledge as a hardcore gamer in order to create a believable world of the virtual-reality MMO game. His bestselling series combines fiction and video games, telling the story of Shaman and his friends stuck in the ruthless reality of Barliona. He used his more than ten years' experience as an ERP implementation project manager to approach his writing in a well-organized manner, working to a strict schedule, a set of deadlines and even a budget. At the moment, the series boasts six novels with the seventh one in the works - this time the author expands on stories of Shaman's companions and those who helped and supported him in his trials and tribulations.
The first book of the series has already been translated into English, with more translations to follow, aiming to make the Way of the Shaman series available to the English-language reader in its entirety.
Vasily's other passion is space exploration which is why he now works on a follow-up series entitled Galaktiona. Set in a space-simulator based world, the first book of the series in already finished while Vasily works on its sequel.
It's so hard to rate this. I wanted to give it 3.5 stars. He adds powers to Zander and all his extended family, but in a way that is so fundamentally flawed, it irritated. He has added to the plot but with plot devices that contradict either logic or previous established facts. But the advancement of the Cultist hunt is so well written and satisfying that it excelled, with an ending that exceeded expectation. So i was torn on my rating.
What Mahanenko does well, Zander and his absolute of the mind powers, and deductive reasoning etc. Zanders doggedly pursuit of his objectives, rigid compliance with his version of the heavens, and pure persistence and overwhelming force of will are all extremely well written. The story telling here is excellent. But....
Where it falls flat. He adds extreme powers to the team. At first, we think Zander used his amazing reasoning and adaptation skills to exploit a rare opportunity and loophole. Had the author stopped there, he would deserve much praise. But he then has Zander realise that his exploit is already well known by the head of the school of Wrath, and that every Demon could have done the same. It then beggars belief why the Demon princes and ruling clans haven't used this exploit. So copper nascent gods can now take out other nascent gods two ascendancy levels higher with ease. Using powers that, let's be honest, those self same Demons should also possess. It fails logically.
[Spoiler alert]Also the Head of the school of Wrath tried to set them up to be killed but goes to extreme lengths to save their lives after they try and kill him? Hmmm. Zander enters a wormhole that leads from the Demon palace to the Taoist palace. He could and should have alerted the heads of the Pheonix Clan and head of the executors of fate, both of whom he scanned, of its location as this is the undeniable proof he's been after for the last 4 books. Yet he turns round without a word, returns to the Demon world and destroys the wormhole which is the evidence he has been searching for!! One assumes that a mind absolute wouldn't be this stupid. Now to add a twist, Derna Fang has the pinnacle powers of a spexific True demon from nowhere. She has used an extremely rare extreme power of that true Demon to bind herself to Zander. Oh and to stop the obvious solution, this extreme power makes such that if either dies both do. Why would such a self destructive power be part of a True demons powers? Oh and Vyllea uses extreme new wormhole coordinator powers that no one has ever had or heard about before to accidentally link Derna's spacial anomaly with theirs, but can't use the same powers to close the passage she made? The plot additions, i assume to extend the stories just dont fit the already established narrative. They also lack logic or reasoning. It feels like he's using a crowbar and hammer to fit a square peg into a round hole.
The Law of the Jungle series by Vasily Mahanenko proved to be a gripping blend of wuxia-inspired progression fantasy and survival-driven adventure. It takes the familiar “might makes right” premise and builds it into a richly layered world where Qi cultivation, territorial dominance, and personal ambition all collide. From the very first book, the stakes are clear: in this world, strength isn’t just an advantage, it’s the only currency that truly matters. Mr. Mahanenko crafts a setting divided into zones, each brimming with danger, opportunity, and the constant threat of betrayal. The pacing is brisk, with battles and breakthroughs coming in satisfying waves, yet there’s enough breathing room for character growth and moral dilemmas to take root. If you enjoy fast-paced progression fantasy with a martial arts flair, morally complex characters, and a world where every victory comes at a cost, you will definitely want to add the ‘Law of the Jungle’ series to your TBR, it is well worth diving into. Happy Reading…
This was the twelfth book of the Wuxia Progression series. More power and more power and yet there are still plenty above them. At least this time Zander did not spend as much time in the healing capsule. This book the declare war on the cultists and that takes them all the way to the central tier of the demon realm. But not to worry there is corruption there too. Our favorite duo still can’t shake a certain redhead. That said he guardian comes into play yet again. Who knows what will come next.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.
I received a review copy of this book. Things are definitely changing. It looks like things are approaching the point where our main character may not be able to handle things on his own. Well, that's not always a bad thing. To say the ending of the book si interesting would be an understatement. If you've been following this series, you won't want to stop now. If you haven't started this series, I'd ask what you're waiting for, but I suppose if you're not a LitRPG fan, then you can be forgiven. All others, what are you waiting for? This series is becoming pretty epic, and I don't use that word with the lackluster definition most publishers do. 90 percent of the time, if a series is called epic, it just means it's really long and boring. In this case, while this series is long, it's hardly boring (at least if you're a fan of this kind of storytelling). Anyway, this is all a long drawn out way of saying, if you're a fan, don't hesitate, grab your copy, and get reading, you won't be disappointed.
