Meredith and Hodge are up for new adventures-plenty of them! there is so much going on in this story that i don't want to write too much about it, but IMHO the plot gets better and better with every book!

M K Turner’s Meredith and Hodge series, of which Tin Soldiers is the fourth, shows no signs whatsoever of running out of either originality or steam. It’s a real credit to this author that she turns out such consistently enjoyable and exciting novels.
Tin Soldiers opens with two young girls being lured away by a stranger. One of these girls is the daughter of Dave Rawlings, who’s on Meredith’s team of detectives, and emotions are running high. A homeless person, Peggy, has valuable information for Meredith and surprisingly she becomes a very close ally. Not only assisting with the case, she brings out more of Meredith’s softer side. We’ve seen him developing a lot during this series but he’s still able to surprise us.
Patsy too demonstrates how she’s learning to handle a personal life with Meredith, which he excels in making complicated, and her new career as a private life. However, contrasting the urgency of Meredith’s search for a child abductor with her own search for the probable but absent father of a baby, she questions how important her work is. It’s hardly life-changing, is it?
Nicola, Meredith’s ex-wife, reappears in this story, alongside the usuals of Meredith’s team and Patsy’s work colleagues of Chris, Sharon and Loopy Linda. We also meet foreign waiters, actors – both struggling and successful, dedicated doctors and troubled souls. M K Turner peoples her pages with fascinating characters from all walks of life and really brings them alive.
The plot as you’d expect is carefully constructed, ingenious and totally unpredictable. It keeps you guessing to the last. But not everything’s resolved for our main characters. We’re not sure what’s next for Meredith and Hodge but we definitely want to find out!

Having read and enjoyed the first three novels in this series I had high hopes for this one and wasn't disappointed. In fact it is probably the best in the series so far. With a well paced plot, several twists and the frustrating romance that always seems to be thwarted at the last possible moment, it was impossible to put down. Plenty of drama, laughs and suspense.
I absolutely love the new character, Peggy the "bag Lady" or "Lady of the road", who I thought was hilarious and reminded of more than one acquaintance who I won't be naming.
The narration by Lee Beddow was once again excellent. Looking forward to the next book, One Secret Too Many, being released as an audiobook, my preferred format as I listen to audiobook while working as a van driver.

M. Turner/ tin soldiers
This series of hodge and Meredith trying to solve whose abducting young girls, trying to find out if Meredith is the father of a son with his ex wife , a death of someone they both know trying to help a homeless lady who is a witness in one of the cases and who turn out to be not what she seems and then add an explosive ending. Beware of crime caper readers this series couldn't of been any better . Definitely on to next series. It is so addictive, this author is one of my favorites.

Once again MK Turner has given Meredith and Hodge adventure and angst that is engaging and intense. These two and their entourage are driven and solution focused in such a way that once you start reading it is impossible to put the book down. There are so many unpredictable twists in this book that even when the last page was read I wanted more. This has been true through this entire series thus far. I am eager to see what comes next.

This was a really good bok with just a bit of trouble with fluidity.Meredith,a cop and Hodge, his girlfriend and a PI,are on a case where girls are kidnapped and sent home with tine soldiers.Coming into the series cold, tis was good as a stand alone. Lee Beddow was a wonderful narrator. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

When two girls are missing, and one is the detective’s daughter, emotion run high. Interesting the help came from a homeless person. Good drama, some laughs, and kept one interested. The narration brought out the emotion of the different characters. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

I have to say, I caught on to the plot just before the reveal. This was a very powerful story, very emotional.
Two girls were abducted and then let go. Two others are stalked, but not abducted. Meredith has his hands full. Hodge is contacted by Meredith's ex-wife to ask her to look for the father of her baby. Of course, there's the issue of whether or not Meredith is the father as well. There is the added problem of Nicola's health which has caused her to look for the father.
The potential father is Tony, who had moved back to Seville due to threats against his life. He agrees to come back to help find out whether he's the father and who is threatening him.
Combine this with a doctor with an attitude problem; an actor with an attitude problem, and Meredith and Hodge at odds with each other, oh! and spooks involved, and it's another well-written novel.

I really enjoy this series. My only issue is the amount of coincidence in the cross over between their cases.

The way this story started was very confusing for me and I stayed that way almost throughout it. As usual there was a minor story which was threaded through the main one. Despite that distraction I became engrossed and so glad that everything made sense by the ending.
