And then right back to dolls like issue 1. This is better than the first issue (it has bat nipples) but the doll factor was creepier in the first one. The ventriloquist story is more funny than it is creepy. (See also: generalized fan feelings on batsuit nipples)

Second story is actually pretty decent. Rather standard ghost story. The Haunting of Oswald Cobblepot would also be a neat full length story. I was legit wondering if The Spectre would show up. That would be cool. (Cool? At the Iceberg Lounge? (⁠☞ﾟ⁠∀ﾟ⁠)⁠☞ ha!)

2024 - Year of The Bat (366 Days of Batman)

Day 341: 2.5⭐️, rounded up. Enjoyable enough but I’m not sure. DC falls flat with horror unless Joe Hill is doing it.

The Scarface story reminded me of something out of Goosebumps. The Penguin story was dope. I’d read more of Stacks siccing ghosts on superhero rogues galleries.

La primera historieta creo que se pasa de más en la "libertad" de presentar una tramilla full terror y pues deja en evidencia el conocimiento de los implicados en el sumun del villano sobre el que recae la trama. Si bien en alguna historia se deja entrever un hilo sobrenatural, de ahí no tira precisamente esta historia que quizás aterre más por la referencia de los trajes "pezoneros" de las pelis de Joel Schumacher.

Sí que la segunda historia me ha sorprendido sobremanera en cómo sí que sabe entroncar el concepto de esta antología con los personajes DC a tratar. En este caso, el Pingüino parece acechado por espíritus que están embrujando su club Iceberg. Pero, claro, con un individuo con tantas muertes ordenadas de forma directa o indirecta para el sustento de sus negocios ilícitos, cómo no esperar que todo un cementerio esté petando en la puerta de Oswald. De esto tendrá mucho que hablar el personaje que llega a "solucionar" este entuerto de ultratumba. Un curioso exorcista que quizás esté más implicado con las almas en pena que en el vil mortal que quiere devolverlas una 2º vez al olvido total. Creo que es una historia que va totalmente al tuétano de la tradición "EC/Warren cómics" de relato de terror moral, y me encantaría ver al personaje del exorcista empático con el Más Allá en la continuidad oficial.

Honestly, it pretty average. The first one was much better and had more a “horror” element/feel to it. I didn’t particularly like either story very much but o did enjoy the ending to the Penguin one.
