Marcus never imagined he’d need a wife to take over the family business. He’s met every request of his demanding father for years, but this is the toughest assignment yet. Quiet, serious, and not exactly a dating pro, Marcus is stuck—until his best friend Gigi steps in with a solution: marry her.
Gigi’s still nursing a bruised heart after a horrible end to a relationship, but helping Marcus seems like the perfect distraction. A pretend marriage? No problem. Except the more they play the role, the more real it starts to feel.
With two troublesome pasts, meddling friends and way too much chemistry, Marcus and Gigi quickly realize that pretending to be in love might actually lead to the real thing.
"For some reason, I can't say no to you Gigi. I live for your smiles. It's like I'm a servant to your happiness."
This book is the final installment in the series, and I have to say, it’s my favorite! I’ve been eagerly waiting to dive into Marcus and Gigi’s story, and it did not disappoint! I don’t usually gravitate towards the friends-to-lovers trope, but when it's executed well, it’s just so satisfying. Not only is this story my top pick, but Marcus and Gigi have also become my favorite couple. Their friendship and connection are strong, sweet, and heartwarming. The chemistry between them is sizzling, and watching their journey toward love is simply beautiful!
Marcus is the grumpiest one in the group. He tends to be quiet, isn’t into physical affection, and keeps things close to his chest. But that makes his friendship with Gigi all the more surprising! They have such different personalities, yet they truly understand each other on a deeper level. I loved seeing how comfortable they were with one another, and their existing emotional bond made their eventual romance more satisfying.
"I used to feel unworthy of her, but she illuminated those shadows, making me believe I am deserving of love."
There are so many cute and swoon-worthy moments sprinkled throughout the book! I adored how Marcus remembered every little detail about Gigi—like when he tried to help fulfill her childhood dreams. The way he reassured her that she deserves love and to feel special was so thoughtful and made my heart melt. Gigi, on the other hand, had a tough childhood, and all she’s ever wanted is to find someone who truly loves her. She’s an outgoing, quirky, and bold person, and while some people may try to dim her light, Marcus is there to lift her up. He cherishes and respects her for who she is, always giving her what she wants and needs. I found myself rooting for them from the very start!
The portrayal of mental health in this book is also handled beautifully. Both characters realize they need therapy to tackle their past traumas, and they are supportive of one another through it all. Their communication was spot on! Overall, this book wonderfully showcases a healthy and loving relationship. And the ending? Wow! I loved how all three couples got their happy endings. There are two epilogues, and the last one surprised me, but in the best way possible! This series has quickly become one of my favorites this year. The author is truly amazing, and I’m officially a fan now!
"Don't let the good stuff in life pass you by because you aren't willing to put in the work to resolve the bad."
Thank you so much to Ashley Warren and Luna Literary for the amazing eARC.
“On your knees, hands on the headboard.” 🥵🥵 Our Broken Pieces is a heart-warming friends-to-lovers that will captivate you from beginning to end.

So, I came into this series at the tail end and I’ll tell you that I wasn’t lost in what was happening. I was able to keep up with the story line and characters. Once I finished this one, I went back and read book 1 and 2 in the series and I will have to say that this one was my favorite in the series.
I adored Marcus and Gigi and their relationship development over the course of the story. Marcus is the introvert to Gigi’s extrovert. They balance each other so well and it was refreshing to read something other than enemies-to-lovers. Marcus made me hot under the collar. The spice was spicing! The fact that he spelled out WIFE in his cum on her was 😈 I was literally💀 And the romance 🥰 The effort that Marcus put into romancing his “fake wife” was top tier and I was here for it. He is the type of man that most women look for.
If you like: 💙Marriage of convenience ❤️Grumpy/Sunshine 💙Secret Millionaire ❤️Friends to Lovers 💙HEA ❤️Light BDSM 💙Mutual Pining Then you will love Our Broken Pieces.
Overall, I 10/10 recommend this book. It’s shows fantastic character development, true love, and passion. Thank you Ashley Warren for allowing me the opportunity to ARC read Our Broken Pieces. I look forward to your future work.
4.75⭐️ | 4🌶 what a great ending to this trilogy. Ashley's writing has really progressed from book 1. This crew was so sweet and heartwarming. Marcus and Gigi.... good lord. the angst, the chemistry, the spice! oh, they were so good together. there were a lot of WTF (in a good way) moments. It deals with a few heavy topics and heartbreaking moments, so definitely check triggers but this was so good. thank you to luna literary management for the arc

“Marry me, princess?” This is supposed to be fake, for show, but his words were so sincere"
I came into this series during the second book, and I look forward to going back and reading the first book! I LOVE the friendship that Ashley has created for this friend circle. They all have my heart in different ways!
This book honestly blew me away; from the start, I was in love with both of these characters! Gigi was such a free spirit while Marcus was known as the grump of their friend group! Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. There is something about two best friends realizing that the love they share for one another is far more than just platonic when attraction to each other starts to kick in! Ashley did an incredible job with the way she developed the relationship between Gigi and Marcus. I'm not kidding when I say I was so hooked I couldn't put this book down and flew through it in one evening!
I just loved watching these two navigate like a married couple that started out as friends just helping each other out! Which inevitably turns into so much more. The sweet gestures that Marcus kept doing would have had anyone falling to their knees 🫡🫠 The gestures that Marcus did for Gigi had me swoon so unbelievably hard!!
The first kiss this couple shares might be one of my favorites of all time. It was explosive and will live in my head rent-free for a very long time.
If you're a friends to lovers fan with incredible angst, then this book is 100% for you! And even if you're not, I guarantee Gigi and Marcus can have you changing your mind about that!
I fell in love with Marcus in books 1&2 and I just knew that his book would be top tier. Marcus and Gigi have this chemistry that is so hard to deny and when Marcus needs a wife to take over his family business, his friend Gigi is happy to offer. While Marcus is more reserved and sticks to himself, being with Gigi helps break him out of his shell and begins to enjoy his life more and more now that Gigi is by his side.
Marcus is dominant and likes control and portrays those characteristics in the bedroom and Gigi goes right along with him for the ride. The two of them together grow better and become stronger as a couple and it's beautiful to read.

Thank you Ashley Warren & Team for the ARC opportunity💕
We start out this series with Jax and Audrey, and while Jax was sweet, I wanted more. I definitely got that with Linc, he was so much more and I fell hard. Even while falling hard for Linc, I very much loved quiet Marcus. There was just something about him and his quietness that intrigued me.
So to say I've been silently and patiently waiting on the sidelines for Marcus' story is nothing short of an understatement.
Our Broken Pieces 💙 is a beautiful story that will capture your heart, that follows both Marcus and Gigis journey from best friends to lovers. And while friends to lovers isn't my favorite trope, Ashley wrote their journey raw, genuine and true to real life trials and tribulations.
I loved watching Marcus go from quiet, closed off, to warm, fun and happy. Gigi brought that out in him as well as his cute AF relationship with little Millie. I was swooning 😍 so hard with their sweet moments. It wasn't just Marcus opening up and making those big changes, it was Gigi too. Seeing Marcus continuously reassure Gigi of her true self worth, making her feel special and loved and that she was deserving of love and by him. Oof. 🫶 That was nothing short of special. It's the stuff you see in movies and want for yourself. So beautiful and so touching.
From the beginning their relationship felt so real even if it was meant to be fake, a simple marriage of convenience grew and blossomed into so much more and meaningful than they even expected. The communication in this book was absolutely perfect for building upon a healthy and strong foundation. The chemistry between these two has me hooked from the start as it was off the charts. I knew there was something there, and when it happened it was 🔥🔥.
I can't recommend the book enough, as it's the perfect combination of personal growth, love and heart and passion. Ashley out did herself with Our Broken Pieces as I knew she would. 👏🏻👏🏻
Hahaha I just understood the story from first chapter. Don't take me wrong, the know it's marriage of convenience between Marcus and Gigi. Tho I already read books with same Trope, I like know how the plot goes.🤔🤭
They are so cute and lovable pair you know? I really starting to them more and more.
As always the silent ones are the craziest. Marcus has really made me hooked with him. How can someone who is so silent and grumpy has different when it's comes to sex? Ahh he has me there and I really wanted to be Gigi..hehe 😆😆🙈
Aww their chemistry is so good thati end up laughing like an idiot while reading te whole book. 🙈🥰🤭
Chapter 50 and 51 are gonna be my favorite. I really hope this doesn't counts as a spolier but even it did , I don’t care.i can't stop myself from telling this. I really want a man like Marcus and proposal🤧😭💘🙈🥰
I also love how their complete each other I never like friends to lovers Trope book mote than this. I really like how they are together and they are too good and fucking cute that I wish I have a man like Marcus who spoils me like he does with Gigi. He takes care of her so well and the communication between them? That's one of the best thing I like in books and this couple made me love them more bcoz of it😩🥰🥳🙈💝
This was such a cool book. Total honesty, I had a bit of a struggle getting into the first couple of chapters but that could have also been because I have a lot going on.
However, once I got into the story with Marcus coming to Gigi’s rescue and learning more about Marcus being demisexual it all just flowed. Their characters were written so well I felt like I was a part of their journey and it was cool to see how they cared for one another.
Also that Disney scene was everything my child self desired. It was magical, sexy, and so flipping sweet my heart could barely take it! Marcus was just an incredible MMC.
This is the third book in the series and while I think it’s ok to read alone I would highly recommend reading them in order to get to know the friends group and understand where their relationships connect and how they fit so well.
I really loved this story and am so grateful to have been able to read it!
I loved everything about Marcus and Gigi's story. Going into this book I already knew it contained some of my favorite tropes but they were delivered perfectly in Our Broken Pieces. I loved the chemistry between Marcus and Gigi and the progression of their relationship.
I was very honored to read the ARC copy of Ashley’s third book and it did not disappoint! Marcus and Gigi’s story was my favorite out of the three. Both characters are relatable as people and their friendship didn’t feel forced at all. The entire book was beautiful from start to finish, flowing smoothly and filled with emotions as Marcus and Gigi grew together to overcome their pasts. And the epilogues do a great job of closing this trilogy and opening what’s to come.
An amazing novel and overall trilogy that were some of my favorite books of this year. Thank you, Ashley, for creating this world!
I knew from the second I read the tropes and saw the cover that I was going to love this book. Gigi and Marcus’s chemistry is amazing and their story was told perfectly. I loved every second of reading this. If you’re a Disney adult, you’re going to love this one! 😉
What an outstanding book. This was everything for me. The ultimate comfort read!!! Friends to fake marriage. Found family. No 3AB. A kitty cat sidekick. Perfect swoon to spice ratio 😮💨😮💨😮💨 Our Broken Pieces only put my heart back together. An absolute masterpiece. 🧑🍳 😘
Oh these two. We’ve seen their friendship grow and how much these two cared for each other, now we get their story. I can fully say I could not put this one down. I absolutely loved Marcus! It’s always the quiet ones 🥵 Gigi is literally the definition of a strong FMC. Plus their nicknames for each other. Marcus goes above and beyond for Gigi. Wait until you read about their surprise trip 🥹 add this one as a must read!

My Thoughts: Gigi and Marcus were a love waiting to happen and I loved reading their journey to Happily Ever After. Gigi has been in a less than happy relationship with her boyfriend Lewis for 2 years. Her friends don’t get it, but Gigi just wants to play it safe. To Gigi, Lewis is “low risk”. She prefers the stability even if she knows she’s settling. When Gigi discovers Lewis has been keeping a secret she ends up heartbroken with no place to go. She calls the first person she can think of, her best friend Marcus.
Marcus has been putting his blood, sweat, and tears into his father’s business for years, obeying his every word with hopes of taking ownership of the company one day. His father finally brings the discussion to the table, but there’s a bit of a catch. Before he can take ownership of the company he must be married and he has exactly one year to find a companion, get engaged, and tie the knot.
Newly unattached and staying with Marcus for the time being Gigi has an idea. If she married Marcus they could fool his father and he could take ownership of the company. He’s her best friend in the entire world and she has time to spare while mending a broken heart. All they have to do is pretend to fall in love, get engaged, and pull of a wedding. What could possibly go wrong?! They just need to stick the arrangement and play the role. The thing is, it’s starting to feel a lot less like pretending.
I loved Gigi and Marcus’s story! loved the way they supported each other and showed up for each other. They always gave the other exactly what they needed in moments of vulnerability. They provided emotional stability to each other, the kind they’d never experienced.
Thisssss story! The loving tenderness, but also the heated passion! The spice had a true kick and was done so well. “On your knees hands on the headboard” need I say more?! Marcus and Gigi have become my favorite couple in the series. They may be opposites, but their personalities just work together, they compliment each other. Marcus working to fulfill Gigi’s childhood dream turned me into a puddle. Marcus may be considered the quiet one, but the banter between him and Gigi kept me giggling. Through out their story the friends to lovers trope was navigated in the best way.
Thank you Ashley Warren and Luna Literary Management for this arc of Our Broken Pieces.
I have been so excited to dive into Gigi & Marcus story, and boy oh boy they did not disappoint at all. I have been “patiently” waiting for them and they are finally here and I am so obsessed and in love with them.
From the very beginning, their close friendship, their chemistry, their dynamic was so beautiful and so special, but I loved also seeing the evolution of them falling in love, finding their person that was right in front of them but also finding themselves. Their love draws you in, warms you up, melts your heart and captures your soul.
From book 1, we knew that Marcus was the most reserved and most grumpy of the group. We get to learn the many layers of him, his past, his need for control but why he is quiet and not such a physical person. As he starts to fall for Gigi, he starts to break his walls down, letting her in and freeing a part of himself he felt he had to keep locked up. And he also helps Gigi. She is powerhouse, a funny, brilliant, devoted and caring person who loves life, but also has her own past traumas to contend with. Marcus sees her, loves her, and the details that this man remembers about her, about things she said years ago in a toss away conversation melt my heart and make me swoon after him. He gives her all of her dreams and shows her how it is to be loved, and she evolves and finds herself through his love.
Their chemistry was on fire in and out of the bedroom. When they finally let go and turn up the heat, boy was it just steamy and sexy but also freeing for them both. There was also so much beautiful mental health representation in this story, the way that they each are able to lean on the other, be open and supportive was so beautiful.
I’m so sad that this series is over as it has easily become one of my favorites of the year. The Ladies of Back Bay will always live in my heart, and with the bonus epilogues at the end, I can not wait to see if we get any more from them or what new and exciting journeys Ashley will take us on.
From the moment I picked up the first book of the ladies of Back Bay series I've been counting down the days until Marcus and gigi's book.
The first time they met will forever be ingrained in my mind from that very moment you could feel the undeniable connection between them.
Going into this book I felt many emotions, sad that one of my favourite series was coming to and end and so much anticipation because deep in my heart I knew this book would set an incredibly high book standards and that my heart would forever belong to this series and I can confirm my heart is very much part of this series.
Ladies you aren't ready for Marcus Holt . I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our MMC after reading snippets throughout this series it was nice to finally see who Marcus holt was.
There was something so familiar and calming about Marcus I felt like I known his character my whole life when I was learning new things about our mmc he was superbly written.
The way he was with millie and those he loved was absolutely beautiful to read .
Gigi Kelly what a smokeshow she'll forever be one of favourite FMC the way she loved so fiercely was so strong when life wasn't playing her a nice hand she let her Red curls do their thing and saw the best in everyone and every thing.
Gigi knew just how to peel back all of Marcus's layers and she saw parts of him that he didn't let anyone see not even himself.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Marcus showing gigi his darker side. It was perfectly written from both perspectives. Watching them go from Best friends, to fake dating to realising there's nothing fake about them to them being endgame was the best way to spend my nights.
As a cat mum I absolutely loved little Ethel. The sofa scene between ethel and Marcus is one of my favourite parts from our broken pieces .
Ladies I've warned you Marcus Holt will definitely be featuring in your dreams soon and Gigi Kelly will now be your girl crush

Marcus never imagined he’d need a wife to take over the family business. He’s met every request of his demanding father for years, but this is the toughest assignment yet. Quiet, serious, and not exactly a dating pro, Marcus is stuck—until his best friend Gigi steps in with a solution: marry her.
First, we have our MMC Marcus Holt. He is the ultimate book boyfriend. He is quiet, grumpy, and focuses on work. But is there for his friends when they need him. He will also do anything for those he loves. Marcus is also a softy for two special ladies: Millie and Gigi.
Now our FMC, Gigi Kelly. Our fiery redhead, with a heart of gold. She is a girls girl and a cat mom. Her favorite movie and princess is Cinderella. She loves fiercely and sees the best in everything and in everyone. But don’t cross her, because she will not stand for it and she will let you know.
This was my first Ashley Warren book, and I loved it. I have to go back to read about the other couples, but I don't think Marcus and Gigi can be topped. This friends-to-lovers marriage of convenience was beautifully done. I just loved their friendship, they both knew each other so well and were comfortable with one another. Gigi knew of Marcus' boundaries and I thought it was so sweet that she would ask him “Can I hug you?”, knowing he was not a fan of being touched. Marcus made Gigi feel seen. He knew everything about her, what she liked, and what she didnt like, he continuously reassured Gigi of her true self-worth.
I could feel the chemistry between these two right from the beginning, even when they were just best friends. The transition into the “fake marriage” was smooth and felt real. The Banter and the nicknames were awesome. There were times when both Gigi and Marcus had doubts about the “relationship” but luckily those didn’t last long. Gigi and Marcus had good communication, so nothing was drawn out. And my favorite NO 3rd ACT BREAKUP. Seeing the change in Marcus from the beginning of the book til the end was nice to see. Love can fix everything. AND can we talk about Millie and Marcus!?!? I swear that baby was made for Marcus. That little darling had him wrapped around her little fingers. And I loved it. Marcus did not let a lot of people in, but Millie and Gigi made their way into his heart and lived there permanently. Overall this was a great story, it had a little bit of everything, and I loved reading it. I know some little girls dream of Prince Charming, but us big girls are dreaming of Marcus Holt!
When I say Our Broken Pieces is an unforgettable gem, I mean it. This book sweeps you off your feet with its perfect balance of heartfelt romance, emotional depth, and just the right amount of spice. From the magical surprise trip to heal Gigi’s inner child (cue the Disney vibes!) to Marcus quietly loving her in all the ways she’s always deserved, this story hits all the feels and then some. Marcus and Gigi? PURE MAGIC. He’s the serious, secretly spicy type (hello, light BDSM 👀), and she’s his sunshine, best friend, and pretend wife who slowly becomes so much more. Their chemistry is electric, their banter is swoon-worthy, and the way Marcus makes Gigi’s dreams come true will leave you in puddles. Every quiet gesture and fiery moment between them felt like a love letter to trust, healing, and embracing each other’s broken pieces. This isn’t just a romance—it’s a sweeping journey of self-discovery and love in its most honest and vulnerable form. From Marcus’s therapy journey (yes, we stan an MMC who works on himself) to Gigi reclaiming her confidence, this book is a testament to healing and finding someone who loves every part of you, quirks and all. And can we talk about the heat? Marcus may be quiet, but when it comes to Gigi, he’s downright lethal. Their chemistry builds naturally, and the spice is woven into the story so perfectly it feels like an extension of their connection. (Let’s just say Marcus isn’t so quiet when it matters, if you know what I mean.) Whether it’s meddling friends, dream-come-true moments, or an epic second epilogue to leave you swooning, Ashley Warren nails every aspect of this friends-to-lovers, marriage-of-convenience romance. This was my first book by her, but it will NOT be my last. “He’s walking around with her underwear in his pocket.”
Gigi, a fun and quirky spunky redhead with a unique sense of style—always rocking her signature hair bows and collecting crystals—has been living with her boyfriend Lewis for a little over two months since she moved in with him. However, it’s getting harder for her to hide the fact that she doesn’t like who she’s become; now she feels like a shell of herself—quieter, snappier, and stuck at home. Lewis, her faithful yet antisocial partner, is always lost in his online trading. Gigi used to thrive running her spa with Sabrina, her longtime employee since she first opened. Meanwhile, her good friend Marcus, a tall, stress-lifting CEO of his family’s construction business, is under pressure from his dad to get married before he can take over the company. Marcus and Gigi share a close friendship—she’s the only one who truly respects his space—and their bond is full of honest, sometimes hilarious moments. Now, Gigi’s life is falling apart—she’s heartbroken, has twelve hours to find a new place to live, and needs an STI test… because apparently, rock bottom wasn’t dramatic enough without paperwork and a potential rash.
This book is super simple plot-wise—nothing too deep or dramatic—but the way the author tells the story makes it surprisingly addictive. You kind of know where it’s headed, but you still want to stick around just to see how each character’s life fits into the bigger picture. I flew through it without even noticing. And Jax? Hilarious. He had me laughing out loud more than once. It’s one of those stories that reminds you the universe makes no mistakes—everything somehow unfolds the way it’s meant to. If you’re in the mood for a feel-good, easy read that’ll lift your vibe, this is it! Go read it—you’ll surely end up in full jollification mode!
A big thanks to Luna Literary Management and Ashley Warren for sending me a digital ARC of this book! — #lateARCreview
Ashley Warren’s "Our Broken Pieces" is a poignant and heartfelt friends-to-lovers tale with a marriage of convenience twist that delivers equal parts humor, heart, and healing. Thank you to Luna Literary Management and Ashley Warren for the eARC—this book was a delight!
Marcus, the stoic, grumpy workaholic, and Gigi, the fiery, outspoken redhead with a heart of gold, couldn’t be more different, yet their dynamic is electric. When Marcus needs a wife to inherit his family’s construction business, Gigi volunteers—partly to help her best friend and partly because the thought of him marrying someone else is unbearable. The fake marriage quickly unearths real feelings as they navigate meddling friends, emotional baggage, and undeniable chemistry.
Warren masterfully balances the tropes of grumpy/sunshine, mutual pining, and marriage of convenience. The banter is sharp, the spice is steamy, and Marcus’s subtle acts of love (remembering tiny details, always being there for Gigi) are top-tier boyfriend behavior. Meanwhile, Gigi’s unshakable loyalty and vulnerability make her a standout heroine.
The emotional depth is where this book truly shines. Both Marcus and Gigi grapple with fractured pasts—Gigi’s foster care experiences and Marcus’s strained relationship with his cold, demanding father—making their journey toward love feel hard-earned and deeply satisfying.
While the lack of a third-act breakup is refreshing, the story’s predictability and neatly tied ending keep it just shy of perfection. That said, "Our Broken Pieces" is a beautiful exploration of love, friendship, and finding strength in vulnerability.
If you love: - Friends to lovers - Marriage of convenience - Grumpy/sunshine dynamics - Emotional, broken characters learning to heal together - Steamy, heartfelt romances
I loved Gigi and Marcus story in Our Broken Pieces. A fake-dating/fake marriage story that started as something to help one another turns into so much more once they are in forced proximity and allow themselves to let out their true feelings. Both main charcater struggle with their own Broken Pieces of themselves but once they allow the other to truly see all of them maybe they were never really broken but meant to fit together. Marcus and Gigi have the most beautiful friendship that's filled with love, protection, and understanding for one another, so when they finally see eachother past their friendship sparks begin fly and light it up in flames. This was a first read for me for Ashley Warren and even though this is book 3 of her The Ladies of Back Bay series it can definitely be read as a standalone. That being said with how much I loved this story and all the surrounding characters I will definitely be going back to complete the series 🩷 Warren has such a way with words and building a beautiful story with her characters. Gigi and Marcus can't help but be loved with the way Ashely Warren told their tale. Marcus is a Grump to most of the outside world but for Gigi a bit of a softie and a total green flag guy. Gigi has this energy and light that just shines through the pages, I love how she is described to have her own personal style and flare that Marcus never wants to be diminished or hidden. To say i loved thier personalities and the duos dynamic together is a total understatement. If you are looking for a great romance book that has a phenomenonal build-up story, some spicy on page moments, and a HEA look no further!

ARC Review 🖤 • With two best friends navigating down the path of a marriage of convenience, this book delivers all the spice, romance, humor, and banter that will surely have you swooning! • Ashley Warren is a new to me author, so as a first time reader of hers, I am thoroughly impressed and SOLD. If she writes it, I’m 👏🏼 gonna 👏🏼 read 👏🏼 it 👏🏼 Thank you and @luna for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity to read this masterpiece. • But can I just say, OH. MY. GOD. I absolutely ADORE Gigi and Marcus. I’ve always been a sucker for a good friends to lovers romance, but this just might be my favorite! • Gigi is a fiery FMC, totally carefree, and not afraid to speak her mind - and I very much admire that about her character. Marcus is the typical billionaire grump, but has a soft spot for Gigi and his favorite little girl. He doesn’t do anything without pure intentions and goes above and beyond for the people in his life. Alike and different in so many ways, they were made for one another. Seeing these two grow together, trusting each other wholeheartedly, taking risks and embracing their love for one another had me devouring this book in under 24 hours. • There is no limit for the love that Marcus has for Gigi and his actions prove that. I hope you all find your Prince Charming because you deserve it! • “Our Broken Pieces” by Ashley Warren is available on Kindle Unlimited - add this to your TBR or next read! This is the third book in “The Ladies of Back Bay” series and can be read as a standalone, but to understand each character individually and witness their growth, I highly recommend starting from the beginning.
Our Broken Pieces is an absolute gem of a book that stole my heart from start to finish. Marcus and Gigi’s journey from best friends to lovers is nothing short of beautiful. Their relationship feels so real and genuine, and I loved watching it unfold over time. What was meant to be a marriage of convenience blossomed into something far more meaningful thanks to the deep care and respect they showed each other.
One of the standout aspects of this book is the way Marcus continuously reassures Gigi and makes her feel special, even when she struggles to feel deserving of his love. Their communication is on point, with both characters prioritizing open and honest conversations. I also adored how they handled their individual and shared growth by seeking therapy to ensure they were building a healthy and strong foundation together.
The mental health representation was handled beautifully and I loved how both Gigi and Marcus acknowledged and worked through their personal traumas while supporting one another. It felt so refreshing to see a couple navigate challenges with patience and empathy. And let's not forget the spice- the chemistry between Marcus and Gigi was undeniable and had me hooked from the very first page.
This book is the perfect blend of heart, heat, and personal growth, and Warren outdid herself with Our Broken Pieces. It's a romance that’s full of depth, genuine connection, and some seriously princess-caliber moments. I can’t recommend it enough! 5 stars all the way!
I knew this book would end up being one of my favorites when I read the dedication. It felt like a warm hug, and of course, made me want to find out more about the Prince Charming the author talked about (aka, Marcus Holt, our new book boyfriend).
In short, the book is about Gigi offering to pose as her best friend Marcus’ fake wife for a few months so that his father can hand over the family business to him, and maybe, just maybe, there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes. I’m not gonna spoil it for you, but, I do have to warn you that this book is a roller coaster ride and will leave you feeling loads of butterflies, a racing pulse, and hoping you find someone who treats you like Marcus and Gigi treat each other.
The mental health representation in this book is just perfect. You get to see how the two are always looking out for each other, and how they deal with their issues the right way. As someone who finds the emotional connection between two people in a relationship a very important factor, I must say that this book brought it out beautifully.
On the same note, the demisexual rep. Wow, just wow. I’m demisexual myself, and I can’t emphasize this enough: this book has grown to be a source of comfort for me. I’m sure anyone else who reads this book, would say the same. This was such a beautiful read. It was my first book by the author, and now I definitely need to check out the previous two from the series.
I'd like to thank the author and Luna Literary for the opportunity to be an ARC reader.
Our Broken Pieces, is the 3rd book of The ladies of Back Bay series and is another 1st time read for me, one I enjoyed from beginning to end.
The book follows Marcus and Gigi, with a marriage of convenience/friends to lovers story and was written so well!
Marcus and Gigi are best friends that have known each other for a few years and after agreeing to a marriage of convenience and going through the motions to make it seem real, they both start to realise the feelings they have for each other are so much more than just friends.
I really loved how their relationship develops throughout, with them both trying to hide the feelings they have for the other at first, thinking neither of them are good enough and seeing it as just a friends with benefits agreement, to it naturally progressing into a much more meaningful relationship with so much love and care.
The chemistry between them shows the minute they get their hands on each other and once they do neither one of them can resist, bringing with it lots of spice.
After Marcus originally coming across as the grumpy one of the group, he actually shows there is a lot more to him by being so attentive towards Gigi, remembering those little things she’s told him in the past making her feel special and always being there when she needs him. He definitely shows some top tier boyfriend behaviour throughout!!
Along side Marcus and Gigi’s story there are some plot twists and turns making this an even more worthwhile read.
Our Broken Pieces is a marriage of convenience, friends to lovers novel and the third installment in The Ladies of Back Bay Series. If you are anything like me and decide to start this book first instead of Book 1, you will not be lost in the slightest. Our Broken Pieces follows Marcus and Gigi in navigating an ultimatum set by Marcus’ father. Marcus has to get married before he can take over the family business. Cue Gigi saying they should just get married so he can get what he deserves. Let me tell you what, I love them both. The chemistry between them was exceptional.
Gigi is a spicy FMC. She takes no crap from anyone. Gigi had an extremely tough childhood, but made sure she didn’t take the same path as her parents. She comes out of a loveless relationship and comes up with the plan to help Marcus get what he’s worked his whole life for.
Marcus is known as the groups grumpy friend. However, with Gigi he is a completely different man. He has a rough past with his father that has made him emotionally distant in a lot of ways. I think the way Ashley wrote Marcus is absolutely perfect. From his past to the way he loves Gigi and takes care of her, to his sexuality is just perfect. I have decided every woman needs a Marcus in their life.
I loved the found family in this book so much. I also loved the mental health talk in this book. Showing that therapy is completely normal and how it helped a few different characters was (and in different ways) was amazing. Clearly, I just loved this book and cannot wait to go back and read the first two!

Ashley Warren was a new-to-me author in 2024, and I devoured the first two books in her “The Ladies of Back Bay” series. Each book centers on a couple in a close friend group and they are always steamy and so much fun to read. Enter the last book in this series: Our Broken Pieces.
🎀What did you love the most? Marcus has always been one of my favorite characters in the series, so when it was his time to shine, I knew I would love this book from page one.
Besides Marcus, I loved how mental health representation is handled in this book. Both characters are involved in therapy at some point in the plot to deal with past trauma, AND their communication from the first chapter is so healthy and supportive.
🎀What to expect: 💍Friends to lovers 💍Secret millionaire 💍Marriage of convenience
🎀Do I need to read the series in order? This could be read as a stand-alone, but there will be spoilers for books 1 and 2 featured in this novel.
🔥Steam level: open-door
🎀How was the romance? Marcus and Gigi just make sense. They are pure opposites but balance each other out beautifully. And the spice is HOT in this one. I loved the open-door scenes and the “my wife” trope so much.
🎀Do you recommend this book? My only hang-up about this book was a bit of drama toward the end. I didn’t think it was needed for the plot, but it wasn’t bad. Overall, if you want a spicy, fun series to sink your teeth into, try out all three books of this series. Ashley Warren is seriously a talented writer, and these books deserve all the hype! 4/5
Our Broken Pieces is the 3rd and final book in The Ladies of Back Bay series and can be read as a standalone. Marriage of convenience AND friends to lovers made this book top tier. If there is one thing I will read all day everyday it is marriage of convenience, adding friends to lovers and I am in paradise. I loved the suspense throughout the book that revolved around Gigi’s past and childhood. I loved how this relationship was built from a friendship.
Marcus would do anything for Gigi even making her childhood dream come true of visiting Disney World and meeting Cinderella which was 100% my favorite scene from this book. He would move heaven and earth to give her anything that she wanted or desired. He stepped out of his comfort zone for her, he got along with her cat and snuggled with her cat. To top it all off the mouth on the man both inside the bedroom and outside the bedroom was top tier.
Gigi is just getting over a breakup and comes up with this marriage of convenience plan to help Marcus get the family company from his father. Through this entire process she fell hard for Marcus and didn’t know how to deal with those emotions or tell him what she was feeling. It was supposed to be easy. They were best friends after all there wasn’t supposed to be feelings involved.
brb while I go buy this entire series because the covers are perfect!
Thank you Ashley and Luna Literary for an ARC of this book!
