The Forgotten Carnival

In the summer of 1987, a mysterious carnival appears overnight on the outskirts of a small town—its glowing lights and haunting music promising dreams fulfilled. But for Jake, Riley, Amber, Dare, and Jimmy, the carnival offers only fear, twisted reflections of their worst nightmares, and a sinister game they never asked to play. When Jimmy disappears inside the carnival, the friends must venture deeper into its surreal horrors to rescue him.

But nothing in this carnival is what it seems. The rides don't just thrill—they consume. The fortune-teller knows too much, and the grinning ringmaster, Mr. Grin, grows stronger with every scream. As the teens confront mirror versions of themselves and rides that steal years from their souls, they uncover the carnival's terrible It's alive, feeding on fear—and it never lets anyone leave.

To escape, they must face their darkest fears and unravel the carnival's curse before it traps them forever. But even if they survive, the carnival may not be finished with them yet.

Filled with eerie nostalgia, 80s pop culture, and relentless tension, The Forgotten Carnival is a pulse-pounding horror adventure about friendship, fear, and the battle to hold onto hope when everything feels like a nightmare.

An effortless and well-paced read. I thoroughly enjoy the author's writing style. This story reminded me of retro novels from the '80s and '90s; a well-told story with lots of mystery suitable for any age.

The worst out of the series so far. And that's is impressive, considering how low the bar is.
