June Russell is a free spirited artist living her dream life in her recently inherited beach cottage on Oak Island. She is addicted to coffee and clutter, and with her quirks and mother issues, she is perfectly content to be alone, feeling her life is utterly complete. But when the adorable Tucker Mitchell helps her out of a sandy situation during an altercation on the beach, the powerful sparks are hard to ignore.
Despite the facts that they are completely opposite and not looking for love, they fall—hard, neither one seeing it coming. And just when they think life couldn’t get any sweeter, illness strikes, blindsiding them both. Will they overcome despite the odds against them? Or, just when they have found each other, will fate play a cruel joke and separate them forever?
DeAnna Kinney is what you could call an eclectic writer at its best. If she can dream it, she can write it. Her main focus is YA Paranormal but also writes New Adult and Adult Romance, Action Adventure, Children's books, and even an Apocalyptic Christian Thriller Romance. She considers herself as fun-loving and a bit peculiar. Besides writing, she loves reading, all things purple, Star Wars, acting like a goofball with all of her friends, and dancing while she cooks (she can see her kids rolling their eyes as we speak). She believes whole-heartedly that chocolates and a good book go hand in hand. And, having experienced it herself, believes utterly in the power of true love. She lives in the lovely North Carolina with her husband, four kids, and a dog named Link (aka Monster).
She is very hands-on with her fans and thrives on their interaction.
Her upcoming works include:
*Maybe something about Zombies, Bullying, and perhaps the end of the world, although not necessarily in that order.
My Forever June by DeAnna Kinney is a wonderful read that made me feel so many emotions, and the first book to make me both laugh and cry in a long time. This book will make you feel love, happiness, sadness, despair, emotional angst, giddy anticipation, a feeling of looking forward to each day, and I laughed out loud at different scenes in the book. I found myself actually crying at one point!
The main character June is a young woman who lived her whole life under her Mom's exacting standards, and the only respite she had growing up was when she went to her aunt's house at the beach every summer. June's aunt was an artist and taught June everything she knew. After June graduated from college, her aunt passed away and left her her beach cottage and all her money to June, and June wastes no time in packing up and moving, much to her Mother's horror. June then proceeds to paint and sell her art at the art studio in town. In the beginning of this book, she is getting ready for her first art showing. She also has a bit of rebellion going and does everything she could not do while growing up, like living with her house totally cluttered, never fixes her bed and has laundry coming out of her ears-and she does no cooking! She is free spirited and loves her life. June has also inherited her aunt's cat which is a really funny part of the book as well.
Enter Tucker, a beautiful man- inside and out, and one day on the beach after a minor incident they meet. Tucker is very handsome, but quiet and subdued, and he, like June has had his share of issues with his parents as they are wealthy and keep trying to marry him off to the latest debutante every season. Tucker is awed and amazed by June, and loves how she is.They hit it off but take it slow. After all there is no rush! Tucker is very different from June, and he finds her fascinating! They talk and share what it was like growing up and then Tucker realizes the reason for some of June's quirkiness and weird habits like putting 16 or so packets of sugar in a small take out coffee, and why she leaves everything lying around, is too feel free.
Just when things are going great for them both, tragedy strikes. Will June have the strength to see it through? Will Tucker be able to have his "forever June", as he calls her, in his life, and she in his? Can love truly save someone. Can two completely different types of people make love work, and be happy together? Can a grumpy Cat accept anyone else into his cat world?!! Read the book and find out-you will be so glad you did!
I gave this book 5***** stars! Thank you DeAnna Kinney for writing such a touching, beautiful story!
3 stars. Short, sweet, clean romance. It gave me a nostalgic 50s sweetness vibe. Wholesome. Like apple pie. Perhaps too sweet for some and too simplistic for others. However there is plenty heartache to be found. Although even that is encircled in wholesome goodness.
I enjoyed this story for what it is: a straight forward tale about the power of unconditional love with highly likable characters. There's nothing too complex or convoluted here. Nothing terribly exciting or innovative. This is a story that's been told many times before. But it's the characters that capture your heart and make this read worthwhile.
Everything ends happily and is tied up in a "happily ever after" little bow.
There's not much description or plot/character development here. Just enough to make the story solid. The ending is definitely rushed. The story is absolutely predictable and everything happens conveniently. But that's what you want and expect when you pick up a story like this.
The best thing about this tale is how heartwarming and simple it is. It touched me. I think that's what matters.
Oh my!!! I have high hopes for this book. What a sweet romance it is. And talk about Book Boyfriends, Tucker Mitchell is definitely a keeper. I fell in love with him from the very beginning. And I love that June is a real woman, with all of her quirks. I truly hope you love this couple as much as I do!!
Love, love, love this story! I was honored and thrilled when DeAnna asked me to read an ARC copy of this book. I love her stories and this one didn't disappoint. Deanna has sure an amazing talent for drawing you into the story and really caring about the characters.
Jane, an artist used to living under her mother's strict thumb, is embracing her free spirit lifestyle and basking in the wonders of Oak Island.
When Tucker Mitchell crashes into her life on a sandy beach, their meeting is anything but normal and when June looks out her window and sees him instead of her normal beach scape scene, she feels herself softening to the persistent man.
Amongst the clutter and freedom of her life, June always thought she was complete but what if Tucker Mitchell is the last missing piece that she needs to be truly complete?
And when an illness comes bearing it's sickly head will June be strong enough to stand by Tucker's side for what's to come or will sickness take Tucker from June way too soon?
Forever June is a story of romance and true love, of embracing oneself for who you are and the one you love.
June takes readers by surprise with her loveable quirks and personality (and of course her possessed cat) and her free spirit. June lives life for herself, the way she wants to live it and the way she embraces it is just so lively and wonderful. Tucker, the exact opposite of June in almost every way, falls in love with June's fun loving and relaxed spirit and in return becomes more down to earth himself. The characters play off of one another and watching them fall in love is magical.
I admire June for standing by Tucker when things go from good to bad. For June there is absolutely no question about staying, supporting and loving Tucker through his illness. For meeting Tucker not too long before, June shows that love can hit you quickly and only the strongest, truest loves can get through the hardest times.
Tucker's bravery and will to do the right thing - even if it's a stupid decision - makes his character very admirable.
Although so different Tucker and June are a beautiful couple that show each other in a different light. This pairing is one of the best couples I've come acrossed.
The writing in My Forever June was wonderful, the plot was fantastic and the characters were personable. DeAnna Kinney's talent is encompassed into this book.
Don’t you just love an “opposites attract” kind of love story? You know, the ones that make you all warm and fuzzy inside, that you savor slowly, no huge action to leave you out of breath and wired for three hours afterward? DeAnna Kinney’s My Forever June is a romantic tale of two people, one a free-spirit who enjoys the chaos in life, one polished and neat. Two more externally opposite people may not exist, but its what's inside that draws them together.
When June and Tucker meet, there isn’t the clash of cymbals or a tempest of love swirling around, there is a quiet budding romance due mainly to the persistence of Tucker. When tragedy strikes, they are there to bolster one another's spirits, true friends whose hearts beat for each other. When Tucker becomes lost, only June’s love can bring him back and make him whole again, thereby making herself complete in the process.
DeAnna Kinney creates magic with her words as she paints each scene with warm colors and gives life and heart to each of her characters. Beautifully written, with a gentle and flowing pace that seems to respect the depth of emotions shared between June and Tucker, My Forever June is a truly sigh worthy tale of true love and its magic through thick and thin.
I received a review copy from DeAnna Kinney in exchange for my honest review.

Jane Russell is a pretty independent woman, she's a talented artist and hell bent on making it on her own, far away from her mother's dominating ways.
During a little mishap at the beach she meets the charming Tucker Mitchell.
Tucker is a dream guy. He's sweet, he's caring and from the beginning, despite Jane's quirks, he's always there for her supporting her. They become fast friends and that friendship blooms into a beautiful romantic relationship.
When the relationship is at its best and these two people are enjoying life, tragedy strikes and it's then that true love is put through the test.
If you're looking to read hot sexy scenes this is not the book for you, but if you're looking for a sweet and incredible loving relationship, this is definitely the book for you.
I identify myself 100% with Jane. The girl was living the life I want to live and good for her. I love a strong heroine in a book, someone who's going to fight for what she wants and never take no for an answer, that is definitely Jane.
My heart went to Tucker, you need to read the book to understand why, but what an amazing guy he is.
This book has a couple of powerful messages in it and (fight for what you want, love and the support from those you love can make a big difference in life, and perhaps the help you win the ultimate fight) these are only some of the reasons why I liked it so much and felt so drawn to it. I highly recommend this book and I'll be checking out others from this author.
I was one of those fortunate readers to have a complimentary copy of this book. I added this to my list because the blurb is intriguing and I wanna know more. And so I did.
My Forever June is a story that you will love til the very end. It's not full of drama but enough to make you so engrossed and just want to finish the book in one sitting. June & Tucker's story may seem so immediate that they actually fell in love in an instant but hey, maybe that kind of love really happens. IDK but this is a book and I enjoyed their story. The friendship they build in a short amount of time made way for them to end up together and the fact that despite all that happened and the twist their story have, no one gave up. They pushed through despite all the unknown and just stayed and love.
I like the message the story showed. Things can be good and then become worse in an instant and all you can do is cope, be strong and always cherish the moment you have with your significant other. I love the story, it was short but a good one.
Finally free from her over controlling mother, June took full advantage of having no rules once she moved to the beach into a home of her own. With no plans to get into any type of relationship she was reluctant to get involved with Tucker when she met him after a mishap with some rowdy teenagers. Obviously when cupid pulls his arrow no one can escape, so it wasn’t long before she gave into her heart and loved the man no matter what.
Not your run of the mill love story, My Forever June was intriguing, touching and refreshing. After a minor accident changed everything my heart broke for what the pair were going through and I was glued to the pages unable to put this book down, reading it all in one sitting.
Told from both June’s and Tuckers perspective we managed to get the full picture and feel the emotions of each as events had their lives spiralling out of control. I was fully invested in both June, who I admire for her carefree lifestyle, and Tucker, who was a pure and gentle man.
I haven’t read any of DeAnna’s works before but will be sure to look out for them in the future.
I was given the opportunity to have an ARC of My Forever June and it was outstanding! I absolutely loved this book. DeAnna Kinney has done it again, she has written another phenomenal book, one which consists of heart wrenching ups and downs as you turn every page. I loved June and Tucker from the begin, and only grew to enjoy them more as they continued to develop throughout the book. June was spontaneous and lived freely doing what she wanted to. Tucker was ever so charming and persistent, who loved June immensely. The love and relationship they had was captivating and magical. The choices that were made were relatable and only show even more how much they genuinely love each another. Similarly to DeAnna Kinney's other books this book draws you in and makes you feel like you are there with the characters. I love the descriptive nature she takes in all of her books and this book in particular is not lacking. The emotional turmoil that is felt throughout this book only added to the appeal, making me want even more after every chapter and sad to see it end.
Let me just state that I started this book at 1:30 AM, June 3. I stayed up all morning to read it. (Obviously it is a great book for a 15 year old girl to stay up all night and into the morning to read.) I can't even begin to describe this book. When I read Charity's Storm there was a "Sneak Peek" at the end. At that moment I had fallen in love with both June and Tucker. The way in which the two character acted was adorable. As I got to know June more just almost wished my life was like hers. She was so free and confident (the perfect female character). And who could forget about the handsome Tucker. The way he cared about June was just so... sweet. I fell in love with him from the first moment he appeared in the book. Their love truly touched me heart. I was so beautiful; I couldn't help but cry (don't worry they were happy years).
I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I love DeAnna Kinney and her writing. I have read most of her novels. I was nervous about this book because it wasn't her usual paranormal, but I did really enjoy the read. It was both cute and fluffy but sad at the same time. I loved the dual points of view, although I do wish we would have got Tucker's POV when he "was gone". It would have given more hope that coma patients can hear people talk to them. I did really enjoy both of these characters. I would have liked to get more of their backgrounds. I need to know why June's mom was such a jerk. I both laughed and cried with these characters and I hope to get more to them. Overall, this was a great read and I want more. I laughed when the characters read Deanna's other book in this book lol. I would recommend it to those looking for a cute love story with a little bit of sad weaved in.
At first, I thought My Forever June would be predictable and uneventful, but I was quickly proven wrong. There are great plot twists and hardship, so I was never bored. My favorite aspect of the novel was the amazing characters (I absolutely fell in LOVE). The reader is able to see through the eyes of both June and Tucker and that really helped build the story. Although I can't say I loved this quite as much as the Charity series, My Forever June is definitely worth reading and I was pulled right in. I recommend it to anyone looking for a story with unique, relatable, and (especially) lovable characters!
Um...yeah this book didn't have enough angst for me it was to sweet and not enough oomph. I mean Tucker he had potential for passion, "it took all the strength I possessed not to take her in my arms and kiss her until her head spun and her vision blurred." This book really didn't get my blood pumping like other books normally would. I mean it was well written and I loved the characters but it was just to damn sweet.
4.5 Stars This was fast-paced and emotionally gripping. I tore through it in just a couple hours. The POV rotates between Tucker & June giving you a taste of what they're both feeling as they fall in love. The emotional part comes in with an unheard of medical condition on Tucker's behalf. Needless to day, I was filled with dread for a good portion of the story. While I wouldn't consider this story realistic, it was still a great read.
I was really looking forward to this book and i was not disappointed. I found that this book flowed very nicely. I was able to get attached to the characters quite fast. The character are both very loveable and easy to relate too. There's not much i can say about this book with out giving to much away.
If you like Chick-Lit, young romance. Then this is your book. It has not bad words, no inappropriate scenes.
This book is a must read. I sat down with my kindle and read cover to cover in a few hours. It's a beautiful story very well told, but what I really appreciate is the fact that it's a "Stand Alone" book. No cliffhangers, trilogies. etc.
I would definitely recommend this book and look forward to reading more from this author.
My Forever June is one of the sweetest, most touching love stories I've read in some time! I laughed and I cried. Then did it all over again as I continued to read on. While a quick read, it sure packed a punch!
June is an artist living in clutter in her inherited beach house trying to escape her mother. Tucker fell for her quickly even though he was quite the opposite. This book really does take us beyond "in sickness and health" Amazing love story.
A well written story that had my emotions all over, there is sadness, joy, anxiety, happiness. This story kept me turning pages. I enjoyed reading Tucker and June's story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
