Nobody's perfect, mi sueño, but you're about as close to perfection as I've ever known.
Oh, Damián and Savi – you both just about broke my heart in Masters at Arms and here you both are, breaking it all over again.
Years have passed since their one perfect day at the beach cave and the years have not been kind to either of them. Savi has managed to escape her sadistic father and build a life for herself and her daughter, also Damián’s daughter but he has yet to find that out, when her brutal past violently catches up with her and she runs, battered and bruised, with her daughter to the only person she can think of to keep them safe – Damián, the man who rescued her all those years ago. She badly needs him to rescue her one more time.
Damián welcomes them with open arms but it becomes apparent that Savi has locked away all that hurt and pain in a box and is completely numb and locked down emotionally and physically. In fact, they’re both in a world of pain and they’re holding back and not talking to each other, not admitting their sorrow when there is so much comfort to be found in each other’s arms.
Damián sets out using his considerable skills as a sadist Top to heal Savannah. Now, healing through BDSM is a fairly contentious issue especially when the harm has been caused by sustained and sadistic sexual abuse but it does make for wonderfully erotic stories and that’s exactly what we have here.
In fact, it’s almost half way through the book before we hit anything remotely sexual. I felt like an addict, deprived of their drug of choice, namely hot kinky sex, and then subjected to an almost lethal overdose – once Damián and Savi get started, the BDSM scenes follow thick and fast. They’re incredibly sensual if not particularly sexual and you’ll need to actually read the book to see what I mean here – I have no intention of including spoilers.
Savi has suffered so badly, she’s learnt to lock down the pain and emotional trauma so that she feels nothing now and Damián works hard at breaking through this seemingly impenetrable barrier. Damián also has his own share of trauma to work through after that fateful day on that rooftop in Fallujah.
This is a very beautiful love story with Damián using bondage and control to heal Savi but it’s not very sexual or erotic – sensual is the only way I can describe it. It’s not your classic BDSM erotic romance, that’s for sure but it’s incredibly soulful and I will admit to unexpected tears flooding my eyes and blurring my vision more than once when I was reading this.
We get to catch up with Marco and Angelina who are determined to prove William Shakespeare right that the course of true love never did run smooth. Everything in the garden is rosy for Adam and Karla as she blossoms into her pregnancy.
4 stars instead of 5 because Damián names his dick and that’s a pet hate of mine. I would never be able to stop giggling at "First, Chico would dip his head inside your sweet pussy." Maybe that’s just me, I don’t know but Savi also names her pussy Chiquita and they almost have a play within a play when they start talking about them in the third person. I just can’t take that seriously but it’s the only niggle I have about this very beautiful and harrowing love story.

Wow, what an emotionally charged roller coaster ride. It was hard to read at times, but I loved every minute of it. (Maybe I'm a closet masochist? :)
Savannah's journey from abused child to survivor is a dark one. I found myself taking constant breaks to calm down. I can't remember reading anything effecting me in the same way.
At the moment I'm struggling to write this review, so I'll just say that reading Savie and Damian's journey was fantastic. Anyone familiar with or interested in 'harder' BDSM will no doubt love Nobody's Perfect. Fair warning : This is not a sugarkink read. There are whips, floggers, and other impact play equipment used throughout the story. The more sexually charged play doesn't occur until well into the second half of the book.
Highly recommended for anyone and everyone looking for a thought provoking read with a highly deserved happily ever after.
*I'm hoping to re-write this review at some point to sound better, but I literally just finished the book about 10 minutes ago and wanted to write down as much as I could while my emotions were still running high. :)

Nobody's Perfect was 1000% worth the wait. It's a story about healing, post traumatic stress disorder, patience and love. Note: This is not a hot or sexy story. It is more of a therapeutic read with BDSM used mainly as a tool. If you loved To Command and Collar by Cherise Sinclair and Slave by Sherri Hayes, you will love Nobody's Perfect.
The abuse and incest described in this book is very graphic, horrifying and sad. To think that some people have gone through this type of abuse is heartbreaking. At times it felt frustrating to read Savannah's story because I wanted to speed up her healing process, but the wait was worth it and her strength and bravery was inspirational.
Speaking of inspirational, Damian is one of my favorite Doms EVER. He had unlimited reserves of patience and love for Savannah. In the BDSM world, sometimes Doms can come off as selfish, extremely controlling and manipulative. Damian was exactly the opposite. He was selfless, flexible, giving and had true depth of emotion and character.
Yes, I almost took away a star because I felt like the last part, specifically Damian's and Savannah's "epilogue" was way too short at the end (you'll know what I'm talking about when you read the book), but all in all, it was a good solid 5 star read.

This book was a struggle for me in several ways. I struggled to keep reading it, I struggled to suspend my disbelief, and I struggled to find the erotica in it. I did succeed in the first, but not with the second and third issues.
Like many, I was looking forward to Damian's and Savannah's story. The series title is Rescue Me and these two needed some serious rescuing. Both had lived through horrors beyond my ability to imagine, and to be honest I worry that my opinion of the book is a result of that inability. I don't know what it is like to live through a childhood with the kind of betrayal, violence and abuse that Savannah did - it was hard to imagine anything much worse than what she'd had to deal with. I don't know what it's like to live through a war, losing compatriots in front of your eyes as well as a part of your body. However, the actions and reactions of Damian and Savannah just did not ring true to me through much of their story.
There was a great deal of internal angst and self blame on both their parts. They both felt "not good enough" for the other. Then, with very little change in attitude along the way, there would be a sudden turn about that just didn't make sense. To me, there was a great deal of repetitive internal dialog, which was frankly rather tedious after awhile. BDSM was used as therapy by a man who had no real expertise in dealing with the type of trauma described. Several times I found myself rather appalled at what Damian thought would help Savannah, and unconvinced that someone in her shoes would react the way she did. Too much disbelief for me. I found myself repeatedly saying something along the lines of, "you've got to be kidding!".
BDSM scenes in the book were not particularly erotic to me, or particularly intimate and loving. The dialog got rather cheesy at times, and seemed out of character for both protagonists. I think the bottom line is that too much felt over the top. Too much abuse, too much suffering, too much angst for me to relate to either Damian or Savannah.
I did enjoy the supporting cast and revisiting old friends from the prior stories. For me though, I think I'm done with the series. As it looks like Cassie and Luke's story is setting up to be another with BDSM as therapy, I just don't feel like wading through more of the same.

I have looked forward to Damian and Savannah's story after reading the prequel in Masters At Arms and feel like it's taken forever to get here. The story was pushed back months and months after the tentative release date so I could not wait to start reading upon final release. Unfortunately, after 50% and skimming the rest all I can say is how disappointed I am with the story. To me, this did not even feel like the same author's voice as the prior books. I realize the main focus of the story is to show how a person can overcome physical, mental and sexual abuse however it does not feel like a love story at all and given how their story started, this was a shock. The characters are flat, lacking emotion, clinical and really the story felt more like an educational class of BDSM 101. The execution is primarily tell, explain, tell in BDSM scene after BDSM scene throughout the book. The writing style is at times cheesey, juvenile in expression and I forced myself to skim to the end. (When Damian named his penis "Chico" and instructed what "Chico" would do in a scene I had had enough.)
"I need you...I mean, Chico...inside me...now."
Spanish translation also threw me with the word "de nada". I've always been taught the translation is "you're welcome" so it threw me in the interpretation of the following sentence.
"I thought you were dead. You were shot. There was so much blood."
"De nada. I've been through much worse. Just slowed me down a little."
I think this is it for me with this series. While I enjoyed the prior books so much, this one really left me with no desire to continue.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews on this book about it being more of a BDSM instruction book than a actual BDSM romance. There was not any romance really. I didn't feel a connection between Damián and Savi...nothing like the connections in the previous books from this author. The referencing of Chico and Chaquita for their genitals really put me off. I live the lifestyle and I have never..ever..heard a "real" Dom refer to his genitals in such a way. It wasn't manly to me at all. I was hoping at least in the intimate scenes there would be a connection between the two, but even then, there wasn't any heat. I understand this was about healing Savi, but I think some real love and intimacy would have come across better than treating as if it were an instruction manual. Another thing that bugged me was suddenly having strife between Marc and Angelina. Didn't we already read their story?! Now we have to wait for Luke's until after another book of Marc and Angelina? Meh, I think I'll pass. The quality of the writing in this book is nothing like the others. I understand Kallypso felt the need to rush to get it out...but I think the "rush" shows in the writing and I found it very disappointing.

Honestly in that tease, I found myself bored with the storyline, almost bypassing this installment entirely. I am very happy to be completely wrong about my initial impression. This book is a hard, gut wrenching read. I would like to say it seems unbelievable, but unfortunately someone is living something similiar at this very moment in the real world, somewhere.
I am so weird because all the dark stuff, though disturbing at times, flowed for me. Yet, was completely taken out of the zone every time the pet names for genitalia was mentioned. What does that say about me? Besides those moments, this book is exceptional.

So in Masters at Arms we get to meet Damián and Savannah, two star-crossed young lovers who get to spend a single tonight together in a really dark Romeo and Juliet tale (and I realize that the original version of that was pretty dark, too).
In Nobody's Angel we get to see Damián again - only now as the big bad bullwhip-wielding dark and mysterious Dominant.
In Nobody's Hero we get to see Savannah again - as Savi Baker, the totally together and competent Social Worker/Counselor.
So would these two ever have a future together?
It turns out they would because... as much as they had changed and excelled in certain areas of their lives, they both had secrets that even those closest to them never quite realized.
Damián had recovered mostly from what happened to him at Fallujah but had actually decided to leave his life alone. Savi wasn't alone - she had her daughter - but she was never going to find a place for a man in her life and you couldn't blame her for that. Together, they both had a whole lot of work through.
Structurally, it was interesting how the story flowed. At one point, you wonder if there are going to be any BDSM scenes. And at another point, you wonder if there is going to be anything other than BDSM scenes. And while I usually feel pretty comfortable with the terminology, I felt like I needed the glossary that Savi was asking for when we got into the whole Dom vs. Top thing although it made sense in the end.
Proof-reading: I know Kallypso worked on this until the last minute. I caught two errors (if I were better at this I would have taken notes) and I am sure both will be corrected soonest.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed with what happened to the bad people in San Diego. They seemed to get off a bit easy although you may not think so.
One last point: What happened to Savannah reminded me of several novels but ultimately it made me think of Beloved Vampire. I thought I understood what had happened to Jessica but I really didn't until I saw Savannah's guilt over how she reacted to her torment. It made me feel for both of them more.
A great novel and I look forward to the next one where hopefully Marc and Angelina finally work out all the issues that have been overhanging their relationship for way too long now.
In Nobody's Angel we get to see Damián again - only now as the big bad bullwhip-wielding dark and mysterious Dominant.
In Nobody's Hero we get to see Savannah again - as Savi Baker, the totally together and competent Social Worker/Counselor.
So would these two ever have a future together?
It turns out they would because... as much as they had changed and excelled in certain areas of their lives, they both had secrets that even those closest to them never quite realized.
Damián had recovered mostly from what happened to him at Fallujah but had actually decided to leave his life alone. Savi wasn't alone - she had her daughter - but she was never going to find a place for a man in her life and you couldn't blame her for that. Together, they both had a whole lot of work through.
Structurally, it was interesting how the story flowed. At one point, you wonder if there are going to be any BDSM scenes. And at another point, you wonder if there is going to be anything other than BDSM scenes. And while I usually feel pretty comfortable with the terminology, I felt like I needed the glossary that Savi was asking for when we got into the whole Dom vs. Top thing although it made sense in the end.
Proof-reading: I know Kallypso worked on this until the last minute. I caught two errors (if I were better at this I would have taken notes) and I am sure both will be corrected soonest.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed with what happened to the bad people in San Diego. They seemed to get off a bit easy although you may not think so.

Too weird for me. She was abused/molested by her sadistic father who also used her to pay for his other business transactions. I didn't even finish it. She had a child years ago with the only man she willingly slept with. And she escaped her father when she found out she was pregnant. Now that the baby is now a little girl her father has found them again. So she runs to the man that got her pregnant and is also big into sadism. And the whole time he's trying to show and tell her he loves her she has flashbacks to her father. The whole time like he can't even touch her without her spazzing out. I don't know why know all of a sudden it is a problem. She had to have been comfortable enough for her to have gotten pregnant by him, right?! too weird for me.

A story of two beautiful but broken souls, who struggle to heal and fight to survive.
Savannah and Damian met at Masters at Arms. They were broken souls that are battling different demons during that time. In Nobody's Perfect, it is eight years later when Savi runs to Damian for protection.
The story for me is more of like a road to healing. A journey of someone who has been abused but is strong enough to live and a hero who deems his life unworthy and yet is brave enough to continue living.
It was for me, inspiring on how they faced their demon and fight, find the will to hold on to continue and not give up. You think that with two of the main characters broken, this would be an exhausting read with dealings with their triggers and episode, but it wasn’t actually, it was bittersweet.
Another thing that I’ve liked more about Damian here is how he had fully accepted Adam as his dad and his help. He knows he has a problem and he is isn’t afraid to ask for help. I also like how it was explained why Damo is what he is. He is after all, a sadist.
There are also glimpse of other characters that I have come to love – Adam and Karla, and Luke, and Grant. Angelina and Marc were there, too.
All in all, it was a beautiful story of love.

I will not say I enjoyed this book. I liked that Damian and Savi find each other lost and tormented, a commonality with the H/h's in three preceding books in the Rescue Me series. However, unlike the other stories, their intimacy was infrequent and overshadowed with horror. So, if you're looking for a pleasure read comparable to KM's other books, this isn't it. There was just too much damage to navigate. It's unbearable to imagine how anyone comes back from the childhood Savi endured, which gives credibility to the interminable, excruciating scenes that consume this book. But the story had to be told this way, page after page darkened with the depravity that oppressed this very strong heroine. So, while there was nothing sexy about reading her brutal journey, I was overwhelmed with admiration. For Savi's perseverance. And for KM's ability to invent a woman courageous enough to mentally and physically escape the hell that was dealt her. Thank Christ for the happy ending, despite having to swallow it around the mass of misery in my throat.

Much awaited and much anticipated addition to the Master's at Arms series. Of all the Master's stories I always knew that Nobody's Perfect would be the hardest one to get through and one that I would love.
From the first time Savannah and Damian met 8 years ago in the hotel, they affected me deeply. My empathy knows no bounds when it comes to these two characters. Together they bring out all my protective nurturing instincts to hold onto them, and keep them safely cocooned away from their harrowing pasts.
I began this book with questions in my head and not without my doubts. I also knew it wasn't going to be an easy read, having to live through Savannah's horrendous abuse at the hands of her father and Lyle as well as the sadists she was given to.
I was worried about how it was going to work... Would it be a realistic (to me) acceptance of Damian's lifestyle for Savie?
The glaring question is one that makes me nervous, if it's not answered. How could she accept what Damian has become when he ultimately IS the kind of man she fears, a sadist?
Am I going to believe in the reasons why Savi should ultimately end up in the arms of a man who beats woman for pleasure and control? I mean...this is the stuff of her nightmares! If I don't believe in the reasons for this, this could blow the whole series for me. I have to believe, I need to! But I'm nervous and kind of doubtful cause I expect a lot. I'm greedy like that.
So I begin with doubtful, very nervous trepidation...
Damian is a sadist and a service Top at his club. He is also a mechanic with a need to fix things and not just bikes, Savie too. He is still as much a prisoner to his own demons as Savie is to hers. Together they seek to regain control of their lives and slay the dragons that have tormented them for years. It is a slow journey that takes the kind of love and patience of true soul mates to endure. Neither can see their own self worth which leads to some very intense heart breaking and sometimes frustrating scenes.
Now I got to tell you. This is not about hot kinky BDSM sex as you have known it to be. Damn right? Well no, not really, because this is about so much more.
I was awed at how well Kallypso crafted the D/s lifestyle into something positive, pure and rehabilitating for Savi and for Damian. I never understood why or how Damian could take up the whip after rescuing Savannah from those sadists. But fear not, all is revealed in this book and yes it does work. For me it works perfectly, I never would have thought my acceptance would have ever been so complete. I am so happy right now, I understand, I get it.
Now I am not one to sob or cry EVER, but I was stunned to find myself with tears in my eyes when reading about cinnamon and chocolate cake. Wtf? You might think, cinnamon and chocolate cake? I know, I know, but you'll get me when you get there.
Oh and then a breath play scene left me gasping and breathless, my chest hurt so much I felt dizzy.
Now I said before that this isn't about BDSM sex and it isn't, but it kind of is too. These scenes include bondage and domination but are more about slaying dragons and rescuing the princess. Getting back control and learning to feel again. The empathy and gravity I felt reading these scenes overcame the sexual lusty and carnal emotions (for me). It was about the release of demons and not just orgasms, although we get some of those too;)
It is sensuality through the slightest of touches, reawakening the body and soul. Just beautiful to me, every single moment.
I loved that his book portrays the BDSM community as a support system as strong as or stronger than family. Kallypso gives us an eye opening look into the underlying dynamics of the people involved in the lifestyle. The care and kindness that the members show each other is incredibly heart warming. I am so emotionally invested in each and everyone of these characters. Kally makes it easy to love them all.

I waited so long for Savi and Damian's story, and I was not disappointed. I got a first version, so there were editing issues, but I know the author is working on getting out a new clean copy.
I thought how Savi's and Damian's issues were handled was perfect. We didn't get any real sex between them until the end (though Savi had a few orgasms starting around 60% I think?), but I think to have put it in before where it was would have been unfaithful to the story and unrealistic. Savi had lived a horrible existence up to the point when she got pregnant. Even then, it was still very hard, though not nearly as bad as when she lived with her father. That Savi found Damian again when she needed him most was providence. And that Damian knew enough of her history to know he needed to treat her with kid gloves was helpful as well. And I think Savi and Mari gave Damian even more of a reason to fight his own demons.
I'm not a BDSM expert (not even close), but I felt like Damian's (and Adam's) recommendations and actions seemed logical, based on what she had been through. While Damian pushed Savi, it was never too far to where she felt threatened. She knew, deep down, that Damian would never hurt her, though it took a lot of internal dialogue to fight the inner dialogue that had been drilled in to her for years. I was very happy by the end of the story at the progress they'd made. And the epilogue was great. I loved that Damian let Savi go at her own pace, no matter how much his body wanted more.
The next story should be interesting. Cassie seems to be in a bubble like Savi was (though slightly different), so it'll be interesting to see how Luke brings her out of it.

After patiently (*SNORT) awaiting the release of this book, when I finally bought it, I stayed up all night reading it.
All I can say is wow.
This is a bit different from the other books. It is a lot darker and so much more emotional. But what an incredible story.
Savi's struggle to deal with her incredibly traumatic childhood was almost difficult to read at times. I lost count of the times I cried during this book. She has such a difficult past, yet you are cheering for her and she comes out so strong through the pages and in the end.
And Damian was the ultimate hero. The way that he helps Savi deal with the pain of her past to get through it, while suffering his own dark memories was amazing.
You feel for these 2 characters. You cry for them. You root for them.
Kallypso Masters took on an incredibly difficult subject of abuse, yet the way she wrote it - I am now convinced she can do no wrong. It was realistic, heartfelt, and heart-breaking.
I was waiting for the continuation of Marc and Angelina's story in Nobody's Perfect, as I have read that she might do. However, that did not happen. I later read that she decided to do that in a different book since she felt that they would take away from the main story of Damian and Savanna. I cannot agree more.
This book was an emotional roller coaster for me to get through, but boy was it worth it.

The healing of Savannah Gentry
This book takes us through Savannah's life from 8-19. Then onto Savi Baker's life 19-27. And then finally back to Savannah's life.
Savannah lived through the most horrid things from 8-19 from her sick and perverted father and his business associate, Lyle. The only bright light during that time was her one night with Damián Orlando. After that wonderful night in her otherwise nightmare of a world she was gifted with a child. The pregnancy gave her the strength to run away from her father. She ended up in a church where a priest and a wonderful woman took her under there wings and Savi Baker was born.
Savi Baker had gone to school and had become a social worker who worked with young abuse victims. Without any explanation she lost her job and was wondering how she was going to support herself and her daughter Mari. She didnt know at the time that her father was behind her losing her job and that he had sent Lyle to bring her and her daughter back to him. Savi manages to escape and goes to the only person she can think of to protect her, Damian.
Damian as also never forgotten Savannah since that night eight years ago. He had no idea what hell had delivered her back to but since that night he had also been through his own hell and was still fighting both PTSD and shame over his disability. When Savannah show up as his door beaten and bruised with her daughter he doesn't know what to think. But within a short amount of time he finds out Mari is his.
Damian vows to protect them both with his life but realizes there is more to Savi's past than he ever knew. Savi's flashbacks are horrid and he realizes she doesn't trust men and wants nothing to do with anyone ever touching her.
From here the journey to Savi's healing begins. Everyone from Adam and Carla to Marc and Grant rally to help Savi become Savannah again. The scenes in the Club between Damian and Savi were so touching in how he was able to bring out all of Savi's demon's front and center so they could be dealt with.
There is justice for Savannah in this book which was long over due in her life. From the moment we saw Damien and Savannah all those years ago we knew they were meant to be together and was fantastic to finally get to read there journey to that place.
Marc and Angelina are still going through a rough patch in their relationship that is not concluded in this book.
Adam and Karla are doing well in there relationship as they prepare for the birth of there first child.
And the cliffhanger between Luke and Cassie - this had to be one of the cruelest things in the book :)

I wanted to like this book more, but it didn't really wow me. I could only read it in small doses. There were things I like and equally dislike about the book.
Damian and Savannah (Savi) has a history together, which is found in Masters at Arms. The review will be a bit spoiler-y if you haven't read the first book. After their one day at the beach, Savi ends up pregnant and runs away from home while Damian joins the military. 8 years later, they meet up again in Nobody's Hero although Savi has changed her name and look.
Damian is dealing with his PTSD and not while after, Savi is running away again, this time with her daughter in tow when her past hunts her down. Savi goes to Damian for help where he learns he has a daughter. The scene with the chocolate and cinnamon was really heartfelt. It was great that Mari took to her dad right away.
I love Damian and his gentle ways to coax Savannah and help her rid of her demons. But then I didn't really feel much of the connection between them since Savi held back way too often. I understand that she had a really traumatic and abused childhood, so she can't trust easily but it kind of hindered their connection in the second half of the book. On that note, the second half of the book was ALL about BDSM 101. I got bored and wanted to skip some parts but I hate doing that if I missed something. I was more interested on what the heck was going on between Marc and Angelina. I'm still a bit lost as to what the heck happened. Maybe someone who read the book can enlighten me. Did I miss something huge? They were together and all of a sudden, they're not anymore after that ski trip with Melissa talking to Angie. I. Don't. Get. It. Now we wait for another Marc and Angie book to resolve their issue(s). I feel stressed out!
It took quite the journey for Damian and Savi to find their HEA, they're probably the only couple I've read who have had this much trauma and hardship to deal with. This author develops the characters well and the story line was good. If you are into BDSM then you will like this book. Damien is a Dom yet he wasn't as assertive as I would like in a male lead. Yet the way he was fits well with Savannah's fear of men so I could accept it.
One aspect i didn't like was the way both Damien and Savannah gave their genital parts names. I just didn't think it fit well with this story with Savannah having such aversions to sex one minute then next minute labelling her private parts- but maybe that's just me?
The length of the book was good and helped you get to know the characters well. However I did feel Savannah's character went from not trusting men to trusting Damien very quickly towards the end.
Having said that I will continue to love this series and will continue to read them. I love that you learn more about the characters from other books within each story as the series continues.
The epilogue includes parts from the next story in the series, this one being Luke and Cassie's story (which I cannot wait for). The taster you get really makes me want to read the next book.

Kallypso Masters tackles difficult subject matter head-on. Rather than glossing over PTSD and abuse issues and making the characters have miraculous recoveries, Kallypso shows the difficulties people who suffer from these problems have in dealing with everyday life. Triggers can occur at anytime (words, smells, music, situations) and the journey to healing is long and complicated. The memories can never be erased but the survivor's "perception" can be changed from negative to positive.
Damian and Savi both have many issues to work through and by helping each other they strengthen their relationship and both regain control over their lives.
Nobody's Perfect shows how the BDSM community comes together to protect and heal their own.

WOW! This was a really hard story to read but totally worth it. The Abuse of Savannah as a child/teenager was heartbreaking and Damian went through his own sort of hell. Kallypso Masters does a wonderful job with how she wrote this book, I have enjoyed this series but I think that Savannah and Damien might just be my favorite couple after reading this.

What an emotional roller coaster ride! To me, this was different than the previous books in the series because of the issues it dealt with on such a raw, real level, but I was still completely captivated. I know that this was a labor of love for you, Kally, and I must say that you have produced yet another wonderful story the series. I now eagerly anticipate the next story!

I was not sure how deep this story would go as I followed the writer’s progress through her journey as this story came to be. With BDSM being such a hot topic lately, I find myself possessive of those author’s I have grown to love yet wanting to share their talents all the same. Those reading BDSM because it is “the new big thing” are the ones that simply don’t get the true passion, intensity, trust, and strength it takes for those relationships to work. In Nobody’s Perfect Kally Masters captured the heartache and pain that can drive a person to the lifestyle to fulfill their needs and like a rose, she truly conveyed the beauty that can bloom from those thorns.
Savannah Gentry no longer exists. The battered little girl who was afraid of the man she called her father, has suffered enough and is gone but not forgotten. Savi Baker rose from the ashes of that little girl and is determined to be the strong woman her daughter Marisol needs for a mother. Years after freeing herself from the torture she knew as a child, she finally felt safe. She wasn’t expecting to see the man who gave her the courage to find that freedom ever again, but when he appeared in her clinic that day, the memories came rushing back. Damian Orlando, the amazing man that let her feel beautiful if only for one night, had gifted her with the child that kept her alive all of these years. Seeing the fear Savi has and learning the Hell she has been through, Damian fears Savi would never accept the fact that he is less than a complete man after the war, as well as the fact that he is a sadist. What he does not realize, is that Savi has been desensitized so much, that his brand of pain and tenderness may be just what “Savannah” needs to come back to him for good.
Emotional does not begin to describe the pain I felt for these characters as I read this story. Damian had so much difficulty dealing with his PTSD from the war but gains strength through Savi as he watches her overcome her own post traumatic memories that have plagued her for years. Savi is so scarred both emotionally and physically that the idea of even being touched by a man is repulsive. I cannot even imagine how much pain and suffering a person must endure to reach a point that they no longer feel it anymore. What broke my heart even more, is that the lack of feeling even stretched to include hugs and kisses from her own child. As a mother, my heart would break not being able to feel those little hands wrapped around my neck for a big hug or those sloppy little kisses my babies love to place on cheeks. In this, my heart broke for Savi.
Damian has always been a man that captured my heart. Such a beautifully wounded warrior that doesn’t realize how perfect he truly is. His determination to help Savi even when he personally could not bear the pain he was inflicting was simply moving. He cried for her, she felt for him, two things that neither of them had been able to do for years. Adding the story behind his dragon tattoo and a mysterious butterfly that I will not detail in this review (you have to read to find out) I was in awe with depth of each little detail that makes Damian who he is and how dedicated he was to Savannah from the first day they met. His determination to help her get over her fears, aversions to certain words and reclaiming her status as a princess are just a few of the reasons why this seemingly imperfect man is so perfect in every way.
Be prepared for some serious impact play, pain therapy, and of course some rope action (thank you Master Adam) that will make you squirm, cringe and melt at the same time. Adding the innocence between Savi and Damian as they explore their intimate boundaries together and you have some funny moments that will make you giggle first and leave you with that warm squishy feeling after. Let’s just say, I think Master Adam needs to install a pole at the Masters At Arms Club.
Now I certainly can’t forget the bastards that caused Savannah’s difficulties in the first place. Many things are revealed in this book that will break your heart after realizing the absolute horror Savannah survived as a child as well as why her mother left her (no I will not tell you). That being said, Damian, Master Adam, Grant, Marc and a few others from the crew do their best to dish out the best brand of justice for Savannah. I just wished Kally went into more detail with it so that I can truly picture the hell they went through in hopes that it was at least a fraction of what Savi went through.
The long awaited story of Damian and Savannah if one that should not be missed. If you are a fan of the Rescue Me series by Kallypso Masters then this is a must read. Nobody’s Perfect will make you laugh, cry, want to punch someone, and more than anything, want to be held by someone you cherish.

I have been procrastinating in writing this review because I feel that I need to write something amazing to explain how I felt. But now I realized that is not what's going to happen, so I'm just going to tell you how this book made me feel. And in my opinion, when a book can move you, make you connect, engage you to the point that it feels as if you know these characters and you care so much for their well being, not just for their happily ever after... then that is greatness!
That's how I feel about the Rescue Me series in general. I have come to care for each and every character in this series because they are all so damaged and have gone through so much hardship in their lives, that I just want to be part of the happiness when they get there. A perfect example of that has been Damian and Savannah.
I won't get into the background too much from previous books, will focus on this book. Savannah comes back to Damian with their daughter in tow, running away from her father and his right hand man. From California to Denver, with no money and battered. Savannah is strength personified. Damian takes them in without knowing Mari is his daughter and just tries to protect them and care for Savi.
But she is so damaged. I don't think we had a clue, even though we had a slight idea, of what Savannah has gone through in her life. This book and her story brought tears to my eyes many times, even again as I write this. I admit that I had to take breaks from reading this book and good thing I had something light and funny to read in between. It is deep and emotional. To find out what she's been through, to see her go through healing, to see her deal with her triggers, to see her break down. And she had to break down before she was able to start putting herself back together.
The way the author told her and Damian's story was so believable and realistic. Never jumping too fast ahead that you wouldn't believe Savannah could do it. I think all around the research that went into this book shows, because the scenes Damian picked, the reasoning behind them and how he executed them...everything leads me to see how this lifestyle has a lot of healing in these situations.
Damian also has his story and his issues. Some are just in his mind and some are physical. Ms. Masters deals with those as well. This is not an easy book to read, it is very emotional, but once you go are done reading it, you'll be happy you did. And I do have to add that O.M.G. Damian is so hot, if he wasn't perfect for Savannah I would seriously consider looking for him and stealing him.
And if you're wondering why this is a 4.5 review and not a 5, I can only say that is personal preference. My heart ached for Savannah to find happiness and I think I would've liked to see a little more in between her darkness where she had a happy moment. Even if it was a moment where they interacted with Mari more. I think I personally needed some light to break up the darkness, earlier in the book.
I think from now on I will call Ms. Masters "The Queen of Making Me Cry!" from sadness or happiness alike. NOBODY'S PERFECT is just an amazing healing and love story, because at the core, love did conquer all for both and saved them.

Kallypso is a master wordsmith. This novel in the BDSM genre is NOT what you expect. I'll be honest, I love this series and author, but I bought this book over a week ago and it took me that long to work up the courage to read it. I knew it wasn't going to be an easy book to read, and as much faith as I had in the author I still was unsure how she would pull this one off. I'm sorry I didn't have enough faith in you Kally. I can't believe what an amazing story of love and healing is portrayed in Nobody's Perfect.
A heroine so damaged from her childhood abuse that she copes by reinventing herself and mentally allowing the girl of her youth Savannah, to be dead. She is now Savi, a single mother and abuse therapist. But, when the demons of her past catch up to her, she runs to the only man who ever made her feel safe.
Damian Orlando is a Dom/Top, co-owner of a kink club, a veteran suffering from PTSD and an amputee. How can a man as broken and damaged as himself be what a woman like Savi needs?
This story of two damaged but not broken heroes (because yes, they are heroes)will bring many a tear to your eye. Love and acceptance can heal most anything, and "Nobody is Perfect" but two people can be perfect for each other.
I would give this story a ten if it was possible. Even if you are not a normal reader of BDSM I highly recommend Nobody's Perfect and the whole Masters at Arms series.

I waited a while to read this book… it was suppose to be out months ago… but it didn’t… I have to say, I’m a little let down… don’t get me wrong… I liked it…but I wanted to LOVE it and I just couldn’t.
I know there was extensive traumatic abuse and it took the entire book to get through that… but I lost touch with the main characters at times only because the book was so focused on the past abuse and how burying it just made the present that much harder to get through!
This in the fourth book in the Rescue Me series… and for me it was just ok… book one, which is free by the way… and two, and three kept me interested much more so than this one… and even at the end of this one, I felt left hanging and like there should have been more to the climax. I realize there will be more books in the series, but as far as Damian and Savi’s story go, I felt like it wasn’t solidified…
I love Damian right from the start in book one, and continued to love him through the next two stories… Savi also, but it was a different kind of love for her… I loved her for being so strong, and I loved her for having so much courage… but Damian… what can I say… he’s a damn dom for cry-eye!!! Need I say more…
All in all, I did like the book… just didn’t love it… I will continue to read on in the series as they come out because I love to see all that’s happening with our existing characters…

I will keep my review very brief. This read like an instructional manual. I wonder if the author had complaints on her lack of knowledge of the scene in previous novels. She is well informed now and she offers that knowledge to her readers. Unfortunately this removes the storyline. The internal dialogue of Sevi takes center stage to anything and everything else. The focus is on PTSD and coping with tragic events. My problem with this, while very informative, this isn't a non-fiction read. I have my own demons to contend with; I wanted a mix of the knowledge, the therapy, and the connection. All I got was the knowledge and therapy. Connection is the most important element for me.
If this were the first in a different series I would give it 4/5. Since it is the 4th in a series and its feel is entirely different, I am giving it 3/5.
I haven't finished yet. It's taken me nearly a week to read. I can devour 2 book in a day. <---use that as a reference.

Rescue Me is a tremendous series. Unlike many other recent BDSM-themed series, the stories by Kallypso Masters are more positive. The main characters are several retired/medically discharged Marines who served together and who shared trauma in the Middle East. They open a "kink club" called Masters at Arms where they satisfy their dominance needs, rescue damsels in distress, and support one another like extended family throughout their struggles with PTSD and developing relationships.
Nobody's Perfect (Book 4) stands out as the best of this series, thus far. It is a story of abuse survival, love, healing, and overcoming. Masters treats the subjects with respect and sensitivity.
I'm eagerly anticipating the release of Book 5, Somebody's Angel .

Nobody's Perfect (Book 4) stands out as the best of this series, thus far. It is a story of abuse survival, love, healing, and overcoming. Masters treats the subjects with respect and sensitivity.
I'm eagerly anticipating the release of Book 5, Somebody's Angel .
