P.L. Parker - Fiona

Time shifts in ever changing motion. But can love survive the ravages of time?

Set against the backdrop of Ancient China, Fiona finds herself transported to a time of barbarian warriors and marauding nomads from the northern steppes. She discovers a new way of life in the arms of the handsome warrior Kellach, a man of noble stature among the Celtic settlements ringing the great Taklamakan. Desperate to return to the present while struggling against her mounting feelings, she finally accepts her fate, exulting in the rapture and delights to be found as Kellach’s mate.

High Priestess Voadicia wants Lord Kellach for her own - and only the outsider Fiona stands in her way.

Beth Trissel - Somewhere My Lass (Somewhere In Time #2)

Will Mora and Neil be too late to save a love that began centuries before?

'‘The MacDonald comes’ warns Mora Campbell when Neil MacKenzie finds the young Scotswoman lying unconscious at the top of his stairs after he discovers his murdered housekeeper slumped at the bottom. Mora’s claim that she’s his fiancé from 1602 and was chased to the future by clan chieftain, Red MacDonald, through ‘the door to nowhere’ seems utter nonsense. Neil thinks she’s addled from the blow to her head until his life spirals into chaos and the avenging Highlander shows up wanting blood. Mora knows the Neil of the future is truly her beloved Niall who disappeared from the past, but he must also remember. And fast.

Although Niall’s kinsmen believe he’s dead, and Mora is now destined to marry his brother, she’s convinced that if she and Neil return to the past, all will be right. The balance of the present and future are in peril if she marries another, and the Neil of the present will cease to exist. The only problem is how to get back to 1602. An ancient relic, the ultimate geek friend, and a little Celtic magic help pave the way back to the enormous challenge that awaits them. If they’re in time.

L.L. Muir - Going Back for Romeo (Muir Witch Project #1)

Alone, with a Highlander, in his castle, on a cold dark night...

(Okay, so it wasn't that cold.)

Jillian MacKay is being conned by a pair of eighty-year-old lunatics. They’re convinced she’s the perfect sucker to test a prophecy and they’re willing to bury her alive to prove it. Once she escapes and finds herself in 15th Century Scotland, she believes her return home depends on a heroic deed - she must rescue a plaid-clad Romeo and Juliet before their romance can end in tragedy. The monster standing in her way, however, is a handsome Highlander who might just be her own Romeo... a Romeo she must leave behind.

Rather than surrender his secrets, Montgomery Ross would prefer to go down in history as the heartless creature who betrayed one sister and buried the other alive. When he falls in love with the prophesied faery who has come to expose him, he'll have to learn a wee lesson from the star-crossed lovers or suffer the fate to which he once condemned them.

Skhye Moncrief - Swordsong (Time Guardians #2)

The most valiant time guardian saves his soul mate from an unorthodox time traveler wanting to steal her heart to gain control of the timeline.

Murdo McEwen's stuck in present-day Scotland with a bent time-travel key and only swordsmith, Katie Innis, can repair it. Duty requires he return to his time. His ticket home relies on a lonely woman haunted by more than the apparitions visiting her.

Her track record with men keeps her distant. And ghostly events keep pushing them closer together. Earning her trust will require the kind of patience only a valiant time guardian learns during his twenty years of apprenticeship. If time-travel duty, romance, and a bit of magic don't help them realize their destiny resonates in mysterious fairy SWORDSONG, all known history could change.

Sky Purington - Highland Mystic (The MacLomain Series - Early Years #3)

Alan Stewart loves the lasses. Beautiful all, he's never been one to settle. Until, that is, Caitriona appears. Shy yet alluring, her unexpected and rare gift gains his respect. Though his need to protect her grows, a dark ending looms. Only Alan knows that her death soon comes and he will not be able to save her.

Caitriona Devereux is not who she seems. Her fate was foreseen long before birth and so important it will impact all future MacLomains. When dream...

I write stories with alpha males and strong, determined women.

I am a dreamer, an avid reader of fiction, a sometimes gardener and an inept crafter. I live in Idaho. I have three sons, a daughter-in-law, a granddaughter, little grandson and a new great-granddaughter. Over the years, I taught dance but as time passed, I decided to try my hand at a new endeavor - writing. I enjoy life and all its promises.

The odd thing about time travel books is that they are often written with a fluidity of characters, dialogues, and events. The perspective may shift between several characters, and segments become disjointed because of ripples in the time continuum. However, this just adds so much to the story for me. Love is all too rare a thing to find in these cynical times, and suspending disbelief to become enthralled by destined lovers who travel across time to find their fated mate is a sweet pass time.

With ten books included in this box set, it is certainly a steal! I enjoyed all the books here, and there were two or three that I absolutely loved- Fiona, Captive Hero, and Going back for Romeo. I must honestly say, that Highland Mystic must be part of a series, and I really did not understand what was going on in that story. Regardless, if you are a sucker for true love, that defeats time, space, and boundaries- I would definitely suggest this set for you! The flame factor ranges from a two to a smoking four.

Fiona, by P.L. Parker Wow….wow…wow. This book is awesome! What a great premise, though a little “Wizard of Oz”-y. Tapping into the question, “what is reality?” and “what is memory?”, this love story covers all sorts of goodness. Fiona and Kellach discover a love that, perhaps, transcends time. Warning: it does hurt your heart in one place, but don’t worry, there is a HAE here.

Somewhere my Lass, by Beth Trissel The present and the past become entwined when a paradox occurs, throwing Neil and Mora together. With a mix of time travel, true love, and miracles, the past is reset- though no mention of it, I do wonder the implications of the change in the time line. Again, the acceptance of time travel- even the possibility of it- is hard for the characters to come to terms with, but when facts stare you in the face….I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!

Going back for Romeo by L.L. Muir: Side note: Oh, I just noted a fun little Easter Egg with this story! I’ll leave it to you to figure out who the elderly twins might be related to. This is the first in a series, and I can’t wait to go read the other two books! Jillian comes to Scotland and agrees to try on a necklace in an ancient castle to break a curse at the behest of two elderly twins. From there, the story goes on a twisty path of secrets, deceits, and true love. While it’s hard to understand Monty’s misconceptions about the past, something is immensely compelling about a man willing to admit his mistakes!

Swordsong, by Skhye Moncrief, is part of a series. The premise of the story was very enjoyable, however, I did find it disjointed at times, as it is written from the first person/conscious thought perspective. Trying to follow the thought patterns of a confused Time Traveler and his love is not easy! However, it has such a crazy mix of Scottish heritage, Time Travel, distant futures, alien planets…well, it just works. The ending will definitely win a smile out of you.

My Honorable Highlander by Nancy Lee Badger: Haven has been hit a harsh blow, finding out her boyfriend is a cheating jerk- and she’s the “other woman.” A trip to the Highland Games with her friend Iona may be enough to get her minds off of no good men. But, a spell gone “wrong” finds her thrown back in time, with a new opportunity at love, as long as she is willing to grab onto it with both hands. Kirk is a fabulous hero, delicious, and all sorts of alpha. This book is the first in a series, and I definitely plan to check out the rest of the stories!

Out of the Blue by Caroline Clemmons: Deirdre’s view of time travel is probably the most truthful- imagine a religious person from centuries past being plopped down in modern time- sure easy to believe you might be dead and in some sort of Purgatory! Anyway. I really enjoyed the innocence of Deirdre’s character, and the hard-cop with a heart of gold true love Brendan. The story was well written, and the intimate scenes sweet. With some murder, mayhem, and mystery a 19th century seer finds herself a new wonderful home and her intended fate.

Captive Hero by Donna Michaels: Fate, Destiny, soul mates…..I love the idea of one true soul mate, who we find and love again and again in each reincarnation. Samantha and Maria find out an interesting quirk in the new plane they are testing for the government- it seems that it can travel through time. This is an incredibly poignant (and hot!) story of finding true love in unfamiliar places. How much does our past lives effect who we are today? Who wouldn’t want to love the same soul eternally? I absolutely loved this story- have tissues ready to go!

Fiona is great

I wish I could review each book separately. Fiona has got to be the most heart wrenching read I've experienced. The story was captivating. Moving. One of the best time travel reads with a more than satisfying ending. The set was worth getting this one story. And I haven't finished them all.

I received Fiona from the author PL Parker and Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock to read in exchange for my honest review and I am not sure where to start because I LOVED this book. The story line, the characters, and the era in which the majority of the story took place led me to sitting down one minute to read for a few minutes while dinner was cooking to 4 hours later finishing the book.
The story starts off with Fiona, a normal young woman of today, who finds herself in another time and place without explanation and has to come to terms with her new ‘lifestyle’. She does it beautifully and it wasn’t long before I was in love with her character. Luckily Fiona does not have to navigate this new life on her own, but rather with a close knit family where the patriarch is the most handsome and amusing male in the bunch who finds himself very much interested in Fiona. It is fun to sit back and watch him court her and how she handles him in return and in the end their love is timeless.

I love that for a short book the author does not miss a beat in any of the details needed to feel like you can feel and see exactly what you are reading – almost as if you were there. I would recommend this book for any age and would give it 5 fangs without hesitation. I love the beginning, the middle, and the end of this book. I am pleased with the ending because there ‘could be’ more books with or related to Fiona and Kellan, yet it didn’t leave me feeling like it wasn’t finished. With that said there are numerous other characters in the book worthy of a spinoff. To say I loved this story would be an understatement.
