Eight years ago, my husband came home with a surprise that shattered our lives. I hate him for what he's done to me and the damage he’s caused our family. Moving on seems impossible—Dark still won't let me go, and my ties to the club run deep. Some days, I feel like I’m barely holding on. Without my father-in-law, the only constant in my life, I would have lost my sanity years ago. When Dark asks me to take on another assignment for the club, I can’t refuse. I love the work. But as more secrets come to light… No amount of burning sage will fix things. Not this time. I’m Kali. And this is my story.
Book 1 in the duet. You must read both books to get full HEA.
The book had the potential to be decent but it fell flat. “Mild cheating”, no this was full on cheating…with multiple women it seems. I kept waiting for the characters to evolve but it was the same theme throughout. The whole situation with Kali and Lily was bizarre. Kali “understands” that Abby is mad at her? Um what? Dark seems to think that it’s ok to cheat on the women in his life because it’s a part of the job…I’d find another job. Super disappointed in Sunshine for betraying her too. The only one who seemed to be on her side was her son Fog. Probably won’t read the second book. I hope Kali gets her HEA though, far away from Dark and Sunshine.

I’ve read a lot of cheating betrayal books, but this one is a rage read and not for everyone. In the trigger warnings it said mild cheating. There was nothing mild about it! It was full blown cheating with a child. What gets me is the MMC doesn’t really see how the cheating is a problem. I also have no idea who she is going to end up with the next book and honestly I really really hope it’s not her ex because he is a prick. I probably won’t read the second book honestly because this one made me so mad and I don’t really care for any of the characters. But it ends on a cliffhanger so if you’re someone who has to finish the series, buckle up.
I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK. I was not ready for it to end.
Now, you do need to check the trigger warnings. It is a dark biker romance. There are some very dark themes and dark events. YOU'RE MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!!!!
This is the first Bink Cummings book, but it is not going to be my last. I am in love with her writing style and this book, wow. So, good, even if I did cry at moments.
One of my favorite things about this book was that it had a real plot, and it was a plot that I wasn't expecting. I was expecting a plot about guys and bikes and a woman on the side, honestly. This, though, this was so much more. Kali has decided to change the world and make a difference no matter what the cost. She gets an assignment, though, that threw her into the thick of it, and it taught her what it would really mean on an even deeper level what it would mean to be a Sacred Sinner.
Kali is quirky. She's got this love for all things that are spiritual, and that remains throughout the book. She's also a total bad-ass. She had a deep and never-ending love for everyone around her, and let's just say that her relationship status goes way way way beyond complicated.
Dark, you can't help but have a spot in your heart for Dark. There's just something about him. You want to love him and slap him and eat the cake off him all at the same time. He is a huge enigma. I wish you had learned more about him.
Sunshin, Dark's daddy. He is a mystery wrapped in a blanket wrapped in an enigma. You just don't know what to make of him. I can see that Kali loves him and wants more with him, but he's holding back. And yet, he flirts with her all the time, and he's let on that he wants me. Like Dark, you don't know what to think. Like Father like Son I guess.
This is a fast-paced book. It is a quick read and it is soo enjoyable. The spice is on par and enjoyable, even if some of the part are supposed to come off as rope-y they don't thankfully. There is one violent scene to be careful of. But that ending. That is harsh, and you cry for Kali, and your heart just breaks. Thankfully, there is going to be another book, so I am just waiting for that now. Please don't leave us waiting too long, Bink.
I am a big reader and love a good mc book. This one was weird and not a very good one. First the relationship between the FMC and sunshine was a strange one and gave me vibes of incest…I was not a fan…the MMC and FMC have been separated for 8 years and he won’t give her a divorce but is living with another woman who has his baby. The ending really sucked no HEA for this book. At the end she finds out he has been cheating the whole of there marriage and sunshine was aware the whole time. That’s how it ended. When you read a romance we would like a HEA for the end with a good grovel. We got nothing here. Don’t waste your time. This is a huge disappointment.

Edited: I probably judged too harshly. I will continue with this series even though I had problems with it from the beginning. I need to know about future characters. 🙈 Especially Dark. I recommend only if you're ok with the trigger warnings and know the h will have a new H in the end.
Honestly? I have no idea how to rate this book. Most of the time I don't read this author's work because of the heroes. All her heroes for me aren't the greatest, and most of the time cheat without any redemption. This book was no exception. I have to have some redemption in my cheating MC books. Which brings me to the next reason I don't read this author's work often. The FMCs are pathetic for the heroes. Bink may make them seem to be strong, but when it comes to their men they're complete doormats and have BBS galore. This book wasn't sexy at all. It's actually quite dark, and the two MMCs we have are assholes. No other way around it. Here we have a FMC who was cheated on from the beginning of her marriage until the end without realizing it. Until of course H1 brought home his club job pregnant. So basically H1's job in the club was to sex up multiple women for the MC club... Give me a break 😳. STDs anyone? Multiple women. Not telling his wife. Having unprotected sex is just so icky. Then his father who worms his way into the h's life lies about H1 and where he is and what he's doing for the club. How depressing. I was raging at first, but then I just became sad because Bink always does this to her female characters. None of them get a decent man. At least not in my eyes. Overall I don't know what else to say. I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it either. Guess I'm neutral? It's definitely gritty which I do prefer in my MC books. I expect these guys to act alpha and be assholes, but this book just ended up exhausting me. Ends on a cliffhanger.
Safety: not safe at all. I read cheating books all the time. The author put the trigger warnings in the beginning and said there was light cheating. I would like to correct that. It's major cheating 😂🙃. There's also sex trafficking and violence against women. Mention of necrophilia as well.

What an ending! I need MORE! This laid some absolutely fascinating groundwork and I cannot wait to see more of it play out. The relationship dynamics were so complex and interesting so I'm very curious to see how it all develops further. The relationship between Kali and Dark is messy as hell. The relationship between Kali and Sunshine has me so curious as it's a strange one. The darker aspects of this one are a lot so make sure to check your trigger warnings. They are discussed with such ease that it's a lot, so don't ignore the warnings. I actually would have appreciated cheating in the warnings more than "mild cheating" given it's such a huge part of Kali/Dark's story and that there is a child as a result of that. Cheating is one of my very few triggers and I am normally ok with "mild cheating" but this felt like more than mild. But the story kept me engaged and I need to know more. It almost felt like it finished in the middle so I'm now eager for the next book. I enjoyed the authors writing style, even if this one felt like I was dropped in the middle of something already happening. I've not read any of their other books so I wonder if reading those would have given me some more context. But I think I caught up ok and really enjoyed the journey.
Warning. Triggers. Warning. Hardcore cheating. Warning. Sex trafficking and rape. Warning. Graphic murder scenes.
I saw this book recommended for OW drama. The author also says this is a “mild” cheating book. Blatant all out lie. It’s got more cheating in it than most cheating books I’ve read.
Book opens to Kali, the FMC being told she has another stalker. Evidentially, she collects them. She also has a lust/hate thing going on with her husband of 20+ things, Dark. They have two grown sons. Dark also has another woman who paces on the sidewalk waiting for Dark to leave Kali’s house. Even better, there’s a child named Lily that Kali is having a girl’s night with. Dark’s affair child. Not HER child.
The reader learns that 8 years ago, on this very eve, Dark returned home after a club run in which he went missing. He was gone 18 months; 14 months longer than he was supposed to be. No one could find him. Until he returned home with another woman and a newborn baby. The same week he bought a house TWO DOORS DOWN from his wife and moved his new woman and new baby daughter into the house. He’s lived there ever since.
He refuses to divorce Kali and still calls her his wife. Even better, Kali treats his daughter Lily like her own. “She may not be mine. She may be the byproduct of her father’s infidelity. But from the first moment I saw her, I loved her as my own.” While that’s beautiful sentiment that wouldn’t be me.
Save me from pathetic doormat heroines who after 8 years still lust after a cheating jerk who lives with another woman for eight fucking years while refusing to divorce you and you help raise his affair baby.
In the next scene, Kali wakes up to Dark’s father, Sunshine cooking her breakfast without a shirt. He makes her belly “swoop.” He likes to pick her up and wrap her legs around his middle. He likes to shower in her shower and does so frequently. She prances around half naked with no bottoms on around him. When Dark disappeared, Sunshine helped her buy the house she’s in now because the rental she lived in, lease was up and she didn’t know if her husband was dead or alive. He put it in her name only so Dark, IF he ever came back, he couldn’t take it from her and Dark loathes his father for that. I’m sorry, this fucker disappeared for almost two years, cheated, knocked up another woman, brought home an affair baby, and he’s mad someone took care of Kali and their sons??
So is she banging them both or what? They both have tattoos of the Hindu Goddess, Kali covering their entire left sides. She’s also known them both since she was 16. Her mother was terminally ill and they met her in the hospice ward. She married Dark as a teenager. She’s now 40 but looks 30.
Kali’s personality and actions do not match her age. She’s 40ish and talks, walks, dresses and acts like someone in their 20s. Not sure why, but she collects stalkers until Sunshine or Dark or other MC members have to kill them. They become obsessed with her. Why this year, she’s had two to start already! Three last year! She’s also into new age stuff like crystals, sage/smudging, negative energy, rocks, essential oils. Very woowoo.
Kali also runs an underground spy network to take down sex traffickers? I guess? It’s not explained well. She finds and helps take down sex traffickers, rapists, underground illegal adoption networks (where they drug a pregnant woman steal her baby then kill her and sell the baby). Her group is made up of freed woman from these situations. They help her with inside knowledge, do fieldwork, intel, spying, yada yada. Sunshine helps bring woman to her to save. She also runs a dual shop the women work at, one side is a winery, one side a chocolate shop.
Kali doesn’t date. Her age, her hang around ex, her sexy FIL, her numerous stalkers don’t allow it (authors words) but she does seem to fuck other men occasionally like Angel, another MC brother. So, yay for no celibate heroine!
Dark tells Kali he needs her a job. It’s an underground auction on a yacht where they’ll be selling 10 women to 12 men and likely, they’ll then either kill the 2 men left or give them the workers on the boat (maids/cooks) against their will, one of which will be Kali. This isn’t her first time going undercover.
Book gets even weirder when Sunshine sleeps in bed with Kali and holds her boob while pressing an erection against her while Dark walks in and so does his daughter Lily. Sunshine pees in front of her, stands naked in front of Kali while her lady parts are “dripping wet” and asks her to get in the shower with him but she won’t. She “cant” cross that line. Uhhh why? She’s already doing everything but fucking him anyway. While Kali is undercover, she visits her and Dark’s two sons Tarek and Fog. Dark interrupts just to flirt with Kali. Fog hates his father for cheating. Tarek doesn’t seem to care. Fog admits he’s gay. Kali doesn’t care and says Dark and Sunshine won’t either. Fog is dating some MC dude named Lace. Dark also put cameras all over Kali’s apartment without her knowledge to keep her safe. Dark ruins Fog’s coming out because he starts bashing his head against a pole saying he still loves Kali and doesn’t get why Kali doesn’t love him. Kali politely tells him to fuck off because he left her and moved in with another woman with a baby 8 years ago.
55% of the way though the book we get only ONE chapter of Dark’s POV. He’s pretending to be a flesh peddler millionaire Maxim Drake. He has a woman suck his dick. He hopes Kali is ready for him because she’s his wife. This chapter added absolutely nothing to the story
Kali and Dark go through with the undercover sex sting. It’s pretty awful to read about. Young underage women are brought forward and bid on and blatantly discussed like cattle. They’ve been “trained” for years to be excellent at oral, obedience, fucking, cooking and cleaning. Dark buys a girl for 15 million but gifts her to the boss on the ship. Kali is sexually harassed at the auction. Women are beat. The waitresses are sold off against their will. Kali posing as Hannah, is given to Dark. Of course, he takes advantage of her KNOWING she doesn’t want this but can’t break cover. She internalizes how she hates that she must play along as her cheating ex husband sexually touches her in front of 12 other men.
Seriously, this book isn’t the worst dark romance I’ve read but her getting fingered, then fucked naked against her will in front of sex traffickers by her cheating ass ex husband as he keeps whispering “I’m sorry” until she comes multiple times made me cry. I felt her humiliation. He bites her too. She can’t stop thinking about how she promised herself after his cheating she’d never let him touch her again and now she HAD to or forfeit her life and I’m sorry, I know she agreed to do this to save sex trafficked women but I hated this scene. She literally reflects on how she can’t break here in front of these men but what he just did ripped her open and renewed her hate for him. This goes on for the rest of the night. She must play his submissive. Feeding him, kissing him, smiling up at him, wearing lingerie in front of all these men, curling in his lap. Eating off his plate, letting him feed her. They also get to witness the other men raping their new toys. One of the women who was only hired as a waitress screams and gets beaten senseless. Then she’s murdered right in front of Kali but only after the guy who killed her claimed her dead body so he can fuck her after she died.
Dark rushes Kali to their room under the pretense of fucking her but also because Kali can’t stop crying. Then poof like a magic genie she forgets about the murder and can’t stop staring at Dark’s dick and thinking what does his new woman feed him? Then thinks him and his dad have the same dick. Whhhhhhhhaaat??? Her pussy gets wet. She gets embarrassed because he hasn’t seen her naked in 8 years. They go to get in the shower and she realizes he has a new tattoo by his dick of red lips. She starts sobbing hysterically because she knows they’re Abby’s lips and now she’s a cheater just like he is. She’s cheating with him and he’s cheating on Abby. Kali has a full-on melt down.
Turns out they’re not Abby’s lips, they’re Kali’s. He took an old note she used to send him on his trips and had her lips tattooed by his dick. I truly don’t understand this guy. Like does he love his wife or does he cheat on her? Why does he live with another woman if he still loves Kali?
Finally, the next day, after faking that Dark beat her (they cut her cheek/smear blood around), so Kali can get into the kitchen and poisons the men’s drinks. She then kills the two waitstaff. When she goes topside, it appears everyone is dead or dying but for Dark and the trafficked women.
Sunshine shows up and Kali runs into his arms. They take the women one way to keep them safe and start new lives, while Dark/Sunshine/Kali and other MC members go another way. They set the boat on fire and took all the millions of dollars the evil men had from the auction. Kali denies the money because she just likes doing this for justice and satisfaction of helping the women.
Dark, Kali and Sunshine end up in a hotel room to rest. Abruptly, Kali asks Dark if he felt bad cheating on Abby with her. Because if he didn’t, that meant he never felt bad cheating on Kali with Abby and it destroys her. She’s BARELY pieced herself back together in the 8 years since Dark’s betrayal. Dark admits Abby was a job. Just like the one they’re on now. So basically, to keep up with his Maxim persona of being a sex trafficker, Abby was a sex trafficked woman who Dark “had to” fuck for his cover. He then admits the affair lasted months and accidentally got her pregnant.
Even worse, he admits the reason he disappeared and didn’t come home for those 18 months was because Abby was pregnant. He chose to disappear, make his wife think he was dead and not come home to his sons so he could stay with Abby until she gave birth. He stated that if Abby wouldn’t have gotten pregnant, he would have come home way sooner. He reiterates he loves and loved Kali, she’s his wife but Abby was a job so really it’s not his fault. GAG. He then admits he cheats on Abby all the time and still does to this day. He also admits to cheating on Kali basically their entire marriage, he just never told her or was caught. Literally EVERY TIME he went away for a job, he was cheating on her and didn’t feel bad about it. That’s why he refuses to divorce her, because in his mind, he loves her and she’s his wife no matter how many pussies he’s fucked. He doesn’t care about Abby. He barely even likes her, he just fucks her because he lives with her and has a daughter that he didn’t want with her.
Even worse, Kali finds out Sunshine knew about Dark’s cheating the whole time and never told her. This breaks Kali in the most painful way. She thought these men were her home and have been since she was 16 years old. She goes into the bathroom and screams out her pain and sobs all night. It’s brutal.
End of Book 1.

This was a nice change from your average MC book. Combined with the author’s unique writing style you really get pulled in and relate to the characters.
Cummings had me feeling all sorts of emotions during this book and falling in love with Kali’s badass self. I also enjoyed having older characters, making it more relatable to me personally.
This is an MC romance with a twist however I felt there was a significant amount of backstory missing from the plot. I looked to make sure this was book one versus book two and it was in fact the first of the series.
You find out the FMC is still married to her husband even though she left him several years ago and he refuses to divorce her even though he’s with someone else. His father is her support person and almost seems like it’ll turn into a father/son duo with her? Lowkey preferred the father over her husband at this point even though they saved her when she was a teenager (but we don’t get more info on this).
I also struggled with trying to figure out the FMC age along with the story line of the book because how she presents herself, would be aged young, but she has two grown children and we learn she’s in her 40s towards the end. It didn’t fit with the flow of the book and her role in her side missions since the women shes pretending to act like, are teenagers to early 20s. The dialogue just didn’t read well for me in this book.
The promise of the story is great, but unfortunately I don’t think this writing style works for me. It seemed to flip from first person to second person and I just didn’t enjoy it, I prefer more third person writing style.
I haven’t read a Bink Cummings book in a very long time. She’s one of the OG MC Romance authors that I used to read all the time when I was in my MC phase.
So when she reached out and offered me an ARC it was like a sign, telling me to come back to her words, world and with all new characters and by am I so happy she did!
This book is fast paced, action packed and emotions are running high. There hatred, love, betrayal, disgust, hurt and so much more happening.
Kali has been trying to divorce her cheating, lying and passive ex husband for years but he flat out refuses to sign the papers. He barges into her life whenever he can, trying to make demands and emotionally tortures her every time he’s near.
Dark refuses to give up on his wife. He says she’s the only person he loves and no matter what he’s done, he won’t ever let her go.
Sunshine is Dark’s father, he’s been there for Kali from the very beginning. He’s her sunshine, he protects her for everyone even from his own son.
When Dark and Kali have to go undercover to stop a trafficking ring, things get heated. Loyalties are questioned. Kali and Dark are forced to finally come together which causes even more issues.
I absolutely devoured this book. Bink completely captivated me with her words. She completely wrapped me up in the emotions of her characters to the point where I was mad at Dark and Sunshine on Kali’s behalf. Honestly, Bink’s writing is like crack. Highly addictive.
I can’t wait for the next book and I hope it’s a Sunshine, Kali and Dark kinda ending. Although, I’d also just be happy with Sunshine and Kali ending up together.
I was so honored when Bink reached out to see if I would be interested in ARC-ing this book! This was my first time reading one of her books & it most definitely will not be the last as I am now completely & totally obsessed with her writing!
Kali Sunshine Dark The dynamic between these 3 was absolutely insane & unlike any other MC story I’ve read. Kali was such an amazing character. The love she has for those she cares about and the strength she exhibits daily is next level. Sunshine…… ugh there aren’t words for how much I absolutely loved him. The way he cares for Kali & gives her the comfort & support she needs since discovering her (now well trying to be… it’s complicated okay) ex-husband cheated on her. Sunshine has stepped up to be there for her in all the ways big & small. Except her ex Dark isn’t exactly a fan of this because despite having cheated on her he is a possessive AF alphahole who doesn’t want any other man near her. So having Sunshine around her is NOT something he’s okay with, especially considering that he’s his Father. Yeah you read that right. I’m telling you the dynamic is insane & I absolutely loved it for all that it was and all that it wasn’t. This MC is extremely secretive but for good reason. These guys are out trying to do good in the world for those that desperately need it. The latest mission puts Kali & Dark together in a compromising situation that threatens to change everything that Kali knows. Plans go awry, decisions are made, secrets are revealed leaving the world Kali thought she knew in pieces. I am obsessed with these three! I devoured this book in a day & am now anxiously awaiting the next!
Before I even picked this up, I went through the reviews and honestly… they didn’t paint it in the best light. Lots of talk about cheating, toxic behaviour, the usual MC chaos. But something about this story intrigued me — and I’m glad I gave it a chance.
This book follows Kalli, her ex-husband Dark (his road name), and Dark’s father, Sunshine (Colton). And right away, you need to understand: this isn’t a traditional romance. These men are morally grey, the MC culture is extreme, and emotional logic works differently here. If you go in expecting a normal monogamous “boy screws up and apologises once” story, you will hate it. If you go in for complicated, messy, ride-or-die relationships… it’s addictive.
When the book starts, Kalli and Dark have been separated for about eight years. Dark went on a club “run,” disappeared for nearly two years without explanation, and then came back with another woman and a child — Abby and Lily. He moved two houses down from Kalli and refused to sign divorce papers. Somehow, despite the betrayal, they’ve developed a strange, almost friendly relationship. Kalli even babysits Lily regularly, which is confusing but sweet in its own dysfunctional way.
And here’s what’s fascinating: Kalli also has a deep emotional connection with Sunshine, Dark’s dad. They sleep in the same bed platonically, he comforts her, protects her, supports her. It never crosses physical lines, but the intimacy is undeniable.
From the outside, Dark looks like the stereotypical cheating MC asshole. But as the story goes on, the truth of his “cheating” unravels — and it completely changes how you read him. It becomes clear that Dark isn’t just another biker. His actual role in the MC is basically undercover work. He takes on long-term personas, infiltrates criminal groups, plays false identities, sleeps with women as part of assignments, and disappears for months or years at a time. Sunshine knew. The club knew. Kalli was the only one in the dark.
The heartbreaking part? Dark never cheated in the emotional sense. He never loved Abby. He never chose another life. He never moved on. Every job-related sexual encounter was mechanical, persona-based, and something he clearly hated. He genuinely believed he was protecting Kalli by not telling her, and instead destroyed their marriage.
When Kalli finally learns the truth — that Abby was part of a job, that Dark had slept with multiple women because he “had to,” that Sunshine knew all along — the scene is gut-wrenching. Dark completely breaks down. Tears, panic, punching the bed, choking on his words, begging her to listen. He admits she is the only person he has ever loved. He refuses to divorce her because he still sees her as his wife. His pain is palpable, desperate, raw.
And honestly? For an MC book, that level of emotional vulnerability from a male character is rare.
The chemistry between Kalli and Dark is explosive — especially during their undercover yacht mission, where they have to pretend to be strangers and sleep together on camera to maintain their cover. That whole sequence was tense, messy, morally grey, and scorching. But also emotional. You can feel both of them cracking.
Kalli has a friend’s with benefits situation with another mc brother Angel. And sunshine’s role… wow. His love for Kalli is real, but his loyalty to the club means he helped hide Dark’s truth. That betrayal is almost worse than Dark’s.
By the ending, after all the reveals, all the pain, all the confessions, Kalli tells both Dark and Sunshine that she’s done — that she never wants to see them again. It isn’t a triumphant moment. It’s devastating. Because despite everything, she did love Dark. And Sunshine was her comfort for years. You feel her heartbreak in every line.
The book ends on a cliffhanger, and honestly? I’m invested. I want answers. Who does she end up with? Will Dark redeem himself? Will Sunshine step back or step forward? And what exactly does Dark actually do for the club? Because the book only hints at the darker side of his role.
Despite the chaos, the morally grey choices, and the unconventional relationship dynamics — I genuinely enjoyed this. It kept me engaged the entire time. For a 200-something-page MC book, it had way more emotional depth than I expected. And best of all, Kalli is NOT a doormat. She has a backbone, she has choices, and she ultimately chooses herself.
I’m definitely reading book two.
Messy? Yes. Toxic? Absolutely. But gripping? Completely.

Let me pick my jaw up off the floor real fast. I just devoured this story and felt every single emotion possible. There were times that I silently screamed, laughed out loud, and swooned. The plot of this book had me by the throat and I couldn’t stop reading until I was finished. The cliffhanger hurt. BUT the release day for the next book hurts even more.
Kali has been living her life as best she can since her husband Dark came home and ruined everything. Dark won’t leave her alone and give her what she wants. The one person she confides in is her father-in-law Sunshine. When Dark brings up a mission for Kali, she can’t turn it down. What happens when everything gets brought up again and more lies spill?
Kali is my favorite kind of character. She is so strong and fierce but she can be so vulnerable when she needs to. She takes no crap and gives it right back. I loved her character so much and I can’t wait to see her pick herself up in the next book. Sunshine had me ready to risk it all. The age gap has me feral. I know the cliffhanger has him in hot water but I hope Kali ends up with him. Dark had me ready to fight him. Honestly, somewhere in the middle of the book I could see the allure but then by the end, I wanted him to hurt. I really just don’t like Dark and I hope they don’t end up together. Bink, if you’re reading, if Kali and Dark have to end up together can we please have Sunshine in the mix too?
This book was so good and I just couldn’t stop reading. I honestly wish it was longer because I’m not ready to give it up quite yet. This story is my first read from Bink but it is not my last. I recommend checking out Dark & Deceitful.
So I am so enthralled by Bink Cummings writing. I get lost in the world that is created. The drama and the angst was next level. I also love an established connection ( think second chance romance, friends to lovers ect) much more then a just met at the beginning of the book scenario.
This is book 1 in a duo and I read book 2 already. There's a lot of violence and betrayal that already happened in the past. The fmc was married to dark amd had children with him but he came home with a woman and a baby that was supposedly his and moved his new family next door. His father , Dundhine had bought her the house. Sunshine is her best friend, he supports her and sleeps in her bed when he's not on the road for club business. They have never been intimate but its clear from the start he has deeper feelings for the heroine then just friendship but doesn't cross that line. Its been 9 years and Dark , still living with the other woman and having the fmc basically raise the daughter by babysitting her to be aline with the ow.
Ok I know what you are thinking..how could you condone such a asshat and I dont..because the background relationship between the fmc ( in her 40s) and the father in law ( 60s) is so sweet and I couldnt help but swoon at how he protects her even from his own son. Even if he wont cross that friendship boundary with her he is swoon worthy.
There's a chance for the fmc to go undercover and be part of club business instead of on the outside like most ' old ladies in mc club romances.
This is my very first ride on the Bink Cummings express, and wowza! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, dying to uncover the next twist and turn. Kali is an absolute warrior—no doubt about it! She's been through the wringer, but thank goodness for her father-in-law, Sunshine, who swoops in like a superhero. And then there's Dark—her husband/ex-husband (who can keep up?)—who made a colossal blunder that he’s probably kicking himself for. By the end, I was ready to hurl my tablet across the room with all the drama, and now I’m left in suspense for MONTHS! Ahhhhhh!
this review is for the duet so there might be some spoilers. I think I'm going to have a bug hangover from this. the author does a good job of making she's going to end up with. it seems like both men have potential, but as the story and the duet go on it's clear who is loyal to her. I really appreciated the sex hygiene in this. The clear thought process of the MMC to not put fingers/d1cks or cloth that touched the backdoor in the v@gina. so often books have things going back and forth with no thought to risk for infection/hygiene.
Kali is a cool girl. Is a sweet mother earth girl who's lethal. I hated finding out about Penelope, it was hard enough with Abby. Wish we had been given a peak at the boys finding out about Penelope.
yes the situation between Kali and Sunshine and Dark and Angel and Todd could be quite awkward but I like how it played out and it was awkward which was good but there was also acceptance. I was afraid this was going to be a sharing situation which at times I don't mind but wasn't looking for that in this and it wasn't. I really like the combination of darkness and humor and characters and steam.
Well here I am in 2024 giving 5 stars to an MC dark romance. Who would have thought?
I saw Bink’s call for ARC readers on Threads and applied, as I’d appreciated some discourse I’d seen, so thought I’d check out her books. And as I said, here I am.
Now this is the first of a series, so be prepared for feeling things are a little unresolved for our FMC Kali. Kali is a part of the Sacred Sinners MC - her found family since the age of 16. The book touches on some heavy topics - human trafficking and sexual slavery, prostitution, and all kinds of trauma. Research your trigger warnings - and there’s a dose of cheating as well.
What absolutely made this book is the complexity of Kali, who is the mother of two adult sons. She’s absolutely kick-arse but with a side of vulnerability as well, not least for the 16 yo she was. There’s many complex dynamics she’s confronted with, and seeing her explore these kept me interested until the final page. I wasn’t prepared for the book to end on the note it did and the strong/vulnerable dichotomy was reinforced even further.
Kali was unexpectedly intriguing and I’d love to know what the future holds for her.
Uhh, am I the only one who finds her relationship with Sunshine weird ? Like. Wtf? I’m only 33% in but the whole kitchen scene was weird. Then the sleeping together and boner talk while gripping her boob? Idk. I can’t really feel that as a fatherly style thing to do lol and if they’re not lovers it’s just. Weird.
I think I’m DNF ing. I just can’t get past the weird relationship between her and her father in law lol. It makes no sense to me. I liked the plot though and the drama between her and Dark. I just don’t get it. She’s sleeping with his brother here and there. Playing house with the father in law. Sleeping together and not wanting to wake him up while his boner is in her rear and he’s gripping her boob. Then she invites the little girl in while this is happening for snuggles ? Just to weird for me in dynamics. And weird to let a little girl see that.

I think this may be my first Bink book… and this author is amazing. The characters are so realistic and my heart absolutely breaks in that final chapter. I need the next book immediately if not sooner.
No spoilers and no explanation of the story, just complete awe at Bink’s work. The storytelling completely drew me into this world, and I don’t even know how to feel about Dark and Sunshine anymore. Can’t wait for the next in the series…
Alrighty, firstly I dont do arcs because I prefer to give totally unbiased reviews. If I got an arc I'd feel i couldn't be totally honest n would try and 'be nice'. I don't want my reviews to be nice i want them to be my truth.
I've been a fan of binks for a long time, I re read her diary chronicle books several times a year and listen to her books on audible too. Tbh im not into her mm books I do like mm but binks just dont do it for me, I think its because I am so obsessed by diary and, beyond her words et al, some of the best 10 star biker books you will ever read, i find it hard to switch to mm- she really is at the top of my mc/biker tree along with Sheehan and Begley.
This book, it felt somewhat different, I dont know if its just the natural maturation and advancement of her writing but it felt more sophisticated and polished. Not that her other books weren't, but this was just more. Like she's advanced into the big leagues and I mean winning writing awards.
This book, I inhaled it. I had to exert a lot of self control not to read it as soon as it came out and not read it straight away because I was half way through another authors 6 book 5 star series. It was painful waiting, I couldnt read them fast enough to get to this one.
I thought it would be good, it was better than good, it was incredible. So much so I'm re reading it again straight after I've finished it, something I never ever do.
The characters are divine, kali is the perfect fmc, a woman we can love n get behind. Who's edgy and independent and fucking awesome. Someone we can identify with. Not least for those of us that use essential oils, make up our own blends and use stones/ alternative therapies. Whilst I'm older than kali i do have two teenage sons so there was so much to identify with. And yes my hubby has always had motorbikes too.
Dark is my perfect angsty, bad boy biker. Hot af but an utter bastard. I love Hs like this!!
Then we have hot af daddy Sunshine, holy fuckeroos. He gave me bonez vibes n a bit of Big thrown in.
The sexual chemistry between kali n the 2 men was off the charts. Seriously tf my hubby was in bed when I finished this book.
Call me naughty but I cant be the only one vying for a sunshine, kali n Dark sandwich? I think I'd explode. Theyre bikers, fathers n sons share!!
The story line/ plot is probably the best of all binks books. I just needed so many more chapters, like at least 30 per book. tf theres a 2nd book out next yr!!
I dont know if this resonated because it was set partly on a yacht. Living on the french riviera both my hubby and I ( and a lot of our friends and family) are involved in the yachting industry. Hubby being an engineer on a 56mtr superyacht. My sister was a stew, my brother in law a captain, cousin a bosun. We live sleep, dream yachting industry. Its in our blood !
Most authors get yacht life and the riviera wrong, I read a book from a fav author about Monaco this yr, she got it so wrong it was dreadful. I work for a Monagasque company, you have to do your research! But bink was pretty much en point. Yes the crew are far more than just newbies, yes you need certificates to work on yachts and yes there's usually more crew such as deckhands. But as she didn't given a size though to berth 28 people it must be pretty big, there's rules for how many guests etc but it usually works out 1/2 crew members per guest so for me the glaring issue was it was woefully understaffed. Like massively. But im picking because its our industry, we live it, breathe it.
But I digress, where was I? Oh yes, this is without doubt one of, if not her best books to date. I cant say 100% because how the fuck do you out do diary chronicles or beyond her words?
This sits out on its own pedestal.
It was worth the wait. Binks writing has gotten even better. Her sexy times are some of the hottest you will ever read because let's face it, most authors can't write sex scenes, they leave me bored n dry.
Bink writes heroines we love and men we adore. And boy does she give us spank bank material.
Seriously bravo Bink: en point masterpiece of biker heaven!! 10 stars!
Now to restart this delicious slice n where's the chocolate?
Wow! I have had to just stop and think about what I just read for a few minutes before I find the words to write my review..
I've read a lot of books this year but this one would have to be the best by far .
Bink Cummings keeps her readers on one hell of an emotional rollercoaster ride, sitting on the edge holding on for dear life praying the seat belts don't snap and throwing you into the air and landing with a crack and a wow factor times a hundred.
Dark and Deceitful had me by the short and Curley's from page one to the very end I didn't want it to end yet at the same time I needed to take a much needed deep breath and then hold on for another ride . Like a glutton for punishment I deep dived back in . Lol
That ending ?!!! WTF Bink you're unaliving me over here ! ..
Dark had me wanting to throw a fist in close proximity to his throat on more than one occasion , and yet at the same time my heart bled for the man who had a job to do that inevitably broke not only his marriage and the life he shared with Kali and his sons but broke his soul with every job he did too. And the consequences of those decisions changed lives irrevocably ..
Kali is an amazing character and like all of Binks female characters she is strong, loving and supportive and has been through hell and lives to help others and support those who can't help themselves.
She's fierce , she's tough but she is broken because of the actions of a man who owned her heart body and soul.
I keep thinking about the ending of the book and I hope we don't have to wait too long for the next book because damn what an ending that was ..
This book has triggers which is explained at the beginning . But if you can get past that you will enjoy this book like I did and will be thinking of it and the characters for weeks to come . I wish I could give it more than five stars because it's worth a hell of a lot more than that ..

wow what a doozy of a ride. I loved every minute of it, I didn't want it to end and now I have to wait so long before the next book. This was the first book for me by Bink but I just know it will not be my last.
Kali is such a fun loving soul. She is strong and loves deeply, for awhile I thought that was a fault especially when it comes to Dark but in the end her strength and love is what got her through her new assignment.
Dark is dark. I don't know how else to describe him lol he's just him. he doesn't want to give up on Kali but his ways to keep her is definitely on the wrong side. In all honesty you can't help to have a somewhat soft spot for him, he is only the circumstances of his enviroment.
Sunshine is a mystery for sure. I really don't know what or how to react to him. I hope we get more on him in the next book.
My dark heart hopes in the end its Kali, Dark and Sunshine, running off into their dark twisted sunset.
Sub/Genre: Contemporary Motorcycle Club Romance Storyline Rating: 5/5 ⭐️ Spice Rating: 2.5/5 🌶️ Tropes: Motorcycle Club, Nomads, Possessive MMC, Kind & Loving Baddie FMC, Love Triangle-ISH, Second Chance-ISH Triggers: CONSTANT TALK IF CHEATING. Oh, and human trafficking. Ending: Cliffhanger!!!
Don’t mind me, I’m just going to SCREAM INTO THE VOID for a moment.
This story had me in a chokehold. I ATE IT UP. The way Bink writes their characters, I felt what they felt. And even though I hate cheating in books, because it hurts my heart way too much… I absolutely DEVOURED this book.
Kali is a fiesty FMC who wants to be divorced from her dumb, cheating husband. Dark refuses to sign the papers, even though he lives with his current baby momma and kid.
Listen. I’m not giving any more details. This is a MUST READ and I don’t want to ruin a dang thing.
Sisters, get ready for another amazing read from Bink!!! The way she paints the picture of Kali’s life is amazing, it made me feel like I was standing right there with her. Dark & Deceitful introduces us Kali, her ex Dark and her constant who just happens to be her ex father in law, Sunshine. This book also introduces us to the Nomads of the Sacred Sinners. Kali and Dark end up on assignment together and we find out how much of a badass Kali really is. We also see that there could be some feeling still there for her ex…. But things come to light after the job ends and we get hit with a major cliffhanger!!! This book is full of laughter, suspense and all the spice!! I can’t wait until the next to see how Kali gets her HEA!!
This is my first book by the author and it did not disappoint! This is an MC book and the plot was way more complex than just biker guys and chicks.
The FMC, Kali, is strong, quirky, has a heart of gold, and doesn't take crap from her ex husband Dark. 8 years ago Dark came home to Kali with a surprise and he has been a pain in the butt ever since.
At least Kali has Sunshine on her side. Sunshine is Darks father and is very much in Kali's life and helps her through everything.
This book hooked me until the end and cannot WAIT for the next book in this duet to release.
What you'll get: Love Triangle-1SH Motorcycle Club Possessive MMC Cliffhanger
*Please note there are some triggering moments in this book. Your mental health matters. Visit the author's website for more details.
Author Bink Cummings’ MC romance, “Dark and Depraved,” had an exciting, suspenseful plot that included a messy romantic relationship that weaved seamlessly through the story. It cumulated to its peek at an emotional cliffhanger.
I love how an author can get readers to feel emotions through their writing, whether it’s sadness, anger, or frustration. Author Bink Cummings had me dislike Dark, rationalize his actions, and then return to not liking him. I was all over the map with my emotions, but what stayed consistent was my feelings toward Sunshine and how strongly Kali stood her ground with both of them throughout the story. I’m pretty eager for the next book. I’m Team Sunshine all the way!
I don't read many MC books but this. This right here. I ran to read ASAP! I'd never expect to love it that much!
This being the first of the series a lot will be left unsaid and left until the next installment. So remember that. Also, trigger warnings! Read them! This was quick, fast to the point since the beginning. This book has a lot of laughter, tons of suspense and can't forget the spicy spice! 🥵😉
Quick note. This ends in a cliffhanger but it's going to be connected to the next book since it's a duet. You won't be disappointed!
Thank you for the ARC! I absolutely enjoyed this read!
Phenomenal is a understatement with this book!!! I loved this so hard!! Dark & Deceitful is dark & traumatic, full of all the grit and the spice is off the charts.
Bink has been one of my favorite authors since I discovered her MC chronicles dearie waaaay back when.. Bink has a way to keep you intrigued and keeps you wanting more. With wanting more.. you’re gonna have to be patient & wait a bit as this ends in a cliffy… but I just know it’s going to be sooooo worth it!
OH..and Sunshine… HOT damn! Thank you Bink for the honor of reading this amazing book!!!
I’m obsessed with this book after reading it. I loved how all the main characters were older and really going through some problems. Along with the whole motorcycle club element, the betrayals, the raw emotions it was such an incredible read for me. The plot didn’t go off script at all and kept me intrigued the whole time along with a couple surprises from main characters and the cliffhanger had me shocked and wanting more
