The Devil Trilogy #3

The Lover Beneath Me

Rate this book
edited by Hot Tree Edting

This is the third and final installment of the Devil Trilogy

Addie is lost as she tries to move forward with her life, but when unexpected events occur taking her to Europe, Addie is finally able to experience the life she had always dreamed of. However without Daimon by her side, Addie is unable to fill the void that he left in her heart.

Will Addie be able to find the strength to reenter Daimon's life
or has their twisted and dark romance finally met its end?

Note from the Author: This is a dysfunctional love and hate trilogy that involves emotional blackmail and a few other situations that the one wouldn't do to the person they liked or loved. Addie and Daimon do what they do under the guise of a love that hurts so good. Happy Reading.

4-4.5 infuriating stars

ok, this ended!

what a messed up relationship...

the drama...

the most fuckin infuriating, fucked up asshole of a main character - Daimon Evans , I still don't know if I like you, I don't fully dislike you BUT you walk the thin line of existence...

Fuck, did that man drive me nut with the pulls and backs, twisting facts, fuck ups, forgivnesses, the more he said "I love you" and "I'm sorry" the more it sounded the same to me...

yeah, and don't you go looking at me with those baby blues, either!

thank fuck I am not Addie in this book! He'd be probably got his ass kicked several times by now, if not smth worse...

Addie Sakis aka Addie Evans
ok, this female character is AMAZING!!! She's a fighter, a survivor! And she will do anything, anything in her power to protect and to save the man she ended up loving simply out of the greatness and purity of her love and not any other means of destruction...

so, she's the one that keeps Daimon glued and complete, he needs her more than he needs the air to breathe - without her, he's NOTHING

"She let me be the man I wanted to be for her. Addie held my heart and soul...she was my everything, and the more I was with her, the more I knew I needed her, wanted her and desired her..."

Very strong yet vulnerable, realistic female lead! Fantastic! I love her!

the story
it continued after the second book ended - Addie left Daimon in search of herself. An unexpected gift from a good acquaintance changed the odds and the rules in Daimon and Addie's further interactions - the chase of cat and mouse, where the roles change in an instant cat turns into the mouse and vice versa...until they finally stand up in front of each other and awknowledge the fact that they are inevitable to happen

"Daimon, this is us.
Dysfunctional, it's our normal..."

their love was toxic, it started based on a pretence, a mere business arrangement BUT it was still full of turmoil and angst, then passion and finally love, NO ORDINARY LOVE, either

"What the fuck did I do right to have you in my life?"

"Well, first you lied and manipulated me. Then you sort of wrapped yourself around my heart, like a snake, so now my heart can only beat if you let it."

"I fucking love you, Addie."

damn, I forgot to say that we finally see the Daimon's side of the story from the highschool events and his POV on the hate/love...
his perception of things is...just...interestingly weird...it has to do with his upbringing and his own fucked up family issues...matters of trust...non-existing...

anyway, the epilogue set the nice tone to set down all the messed up things that happened to them...

Both of us had gone through so much to get to where we were. Looking back, I wouldn't change a damn thing, Daimon was Daimon. He was mine and me...I was his Addie.

Where do I start? First of all, I couldn't put it down.
I really enjoyed reading this trilogy.
I somewhat struggled with the first one - just the fact that Daimon treated Addie like garbage and constantly tried to humiliate her.
Typical bully playing with her head.
At times, I wanted to slap him and throw my book against the wall.
I hated Daimon throughout the first book, but he evolved from complete asshole to someone worth fighting for by the end of final instalment.
Good job Evangelene!

Did we need a third book? No. This could’ve been scaled down and condensed into book two. By book three, this dysfunctional couple just annoyed me. Just realize that you’re both stubborn, manipulative shits, but that you love each other anyway. Embrace your flaws, and live HEA.

Needs some serious editing

I hope Evangelene doesn't pay her editor a lot because they suck. Lots of typos and sentences that don't make sense as well as repetition and redundancies.

I can't put my finger on what it is that endeared me to this story , I am strong believer that your spouse has to provide not just physical compatibility but also push you intellectually .The connection is what makes the bond endearing and different from all other relationships in life .

Daimon Evans is a wealthy kid who does not let anyone near his heart for it was broken by the people who were supposed to love him the most , he hasn't been on the receiving end of love from anyone , when he finds out that his classmate (Addie Sakis)has a crush on him , he tries to reciprocate in the way he only knows ,Yes !! , he bullies her .She is ready to leave this school and all her bullies behind but tragedy strikes and she has to drop out to support her family .

10 years later Daimon finds Addie and proposes fake relationship in return for money which Addie needs , this plot is so commonly used , that it does not even count as a plot anymore but , and there is a BUT the way the author has handled the relationship between these two is just awesome , their situations emotional boundaries are tested .The treatment of the story is what makes novel stand out

I love all the trilogy, specially the second book, but this one is a good end to the story. You can ,finally, understand Daimon's ways.
This author has been a brilliant discovery.

God, what a dysfunctional journey. Daimon-hot sexy- finally redeemed himself. Overall it was worth the angst and rage I felt towards him

Loved

I loved this series. The first book got me hooked and I couldn't stop reading them. Loved this one because it's Daimons POV.

Addie is a really shitty character. This book was poorly written. Good storyline, it had potential to be great. A lot of the dialogue sounded like middle school conversations. The characters thought process was very childish. They were all supposed to be around 30 years old yet it felt like I was reading about 14 years olds.

A good read

This is the last book in the series. It's not your typical love story. Two people that shouldn't be together, but only have eyes for each other. Can they work through their problems? ... I enjoyed this book and loved the series.

This third installment is actually 50% recapping the whole story with the H's POV, the rest is wrapping up the story. Also, it became repetitive on some parts, but nonetheless still a good wrap and I can honestly say I loved the series.

This was a great ending to the series. I loved that it was primarily Daimon's POV. They are a strong couple that fights with everything they have. Awesome series.

In this part I've seen how much Daimon loves Addie, given its written from his point of view.
