karasu backstory dropped in the spinoff?? ok well at least i'm getting it
"he's aware he's mediocre" noooo baby karasu you're so special
and in contrast to him, eita otoya lived his life by totally going with the flow.
cue baby otoya. cue serial cheater otoya.
"but to otoya, the calmly calculating karasu who won using his wits, was impossibly cool. and to karasu, otoya's 'what you see is what you get' personality meant that he didn't need to waste time discerning otoya's true feelings. he was comfortable to have him as a teammate. and above all, karasu and otoya, had exceptionally high play compatability."
you simply cannot beat kaneshiro when it comes to relationship writing. tabieita CANON.
"these two have neither passionate promises nor bitterly cold betrayals" no drama here
"gaudy ninja" "flying crow" they are peak

not that it's relevant here but kiyora really is the perfect fullback, amazing at defending, can dribble like a god, can send beautiful passes up the field.
twister pass?? one might think i'm a hypocrite for criticizing unrealistic moves in bllk, but when it's attached to someone as cool as kiyora color me impressed. maybe i just hate isagi idk!
backspin accelerating shot?? and HE SAT ON THE BENCH THE WHOLE OF THE NEL ARC??? knsr when i CATCH YOU! tell me why he's the most incredible player so far. and not to mention he forgot about him in the third selection. i'm not joking he's not in it at all, not even in the little pictures of who divided into a,b, and c. like what ???

idc about himizu backstory. not on the bus, idgaf.
"stop it princess. don't chase him! you'll break!" and THIS is one of my fav scenes from episode nagi bc that's chigiri one of his best friends! and he cares enough about him that despite losing, he still doesn't want chigiri to tear his ACL right then and there. contrast to isagi who tells chigiri to run faster and further makes the "isagi pushes chigiri to breaking" theory more interesting, when you consider the nagi isagi foils.

now that i'm thinking about it. why did kiyora go to germany instead of spain? not my interpretation, but according to ego the bundesliga is about cold logic and spain is about talent and flair. kiyora literally breakdances and is so much like bachira he'd fit perfectly with barca but instead goes to bayern??

Quando si è a un passo dalla vittoria decisiva o dalla sconfitta che potrebbe segnare l'inizio della fine, cosa conviene fare? Guardare la situazione in maniera razionale, reprimere il proprio ego, e puntare all'obiettivo finale, oppure affidarsi alla forza dei propri sogni e giocarsi il tutto per tutto?
ll match 4 Vs 4 che vede opposti Nagi, Baro, Chgiri e Zantetsu alla banda di Otoya, Karasu, Kiyora e Himizu sta per arrivare alla sua conclusione in una situazione di sostanziale equilibrio, con le due squadre che si sono affrontate a viso aperto, ciascuna ricorrendo a tattiche più o meno improvvisate. L'obiettivo alla fine è lo stesso: andare avanti e superare la seconda selezione. La cosa che ho apprezzato di questo volume è anche lo spazio che viene dedicato al passato degli avversari, personaggi che nella serie originale non hanno tantissimo spazio - per esempio, la compatibilità di gioco di due caratteri diversissimi, come Otoya, decisamente più rilassato, e Karasu, più pacato e con un ottimo spirito di osservazione. Oppure Himizu, particolarmente abile a fiutare le bugie degli altri.
Ora, io non mi ricordo con che formazione Nagi e compagnia hanno superato la seconda selezione (forse dovrei recuperare i vecchi volumi della serie principale 🤔), quindi attendo con ansia il volume 7 per sapere come andrà a finire la partita e vedere come se la caveranno Seishiro e il resto della banda.
P.s.: non mi sarei mai aspettato di vedere Baro predicare razionalità e riconoscere, a modo suo ovviamente, il talento dei compagni. A quanto pare, anche il re sta crescendo.
