Camping with my brother and his idiot friends? Big mistake. I have a tendency to people please and put myself last, but this time it’s gone too far. Desperate to get out of there before they accidentally set the woods on fire, I flee down the dark mountain road when a truck comes out of nowhere and I twist my ankle jumping out of the way. Just when I think I’m totally out of options, he appears— a huge, bearded mountain man who lifts me with ease and insists on taking me back to his cabin. He looks at me with a fiery intensity that makes my heart race, igniting desires I never knew I had and I can’t help but wonder if it’s time to start chasing after what I want. After all, I’ve got nothing to lose. Except my V-card.
Griff
As a single dad, I rarely get a night to myself, so the last thing I want is to be dealing with some moron’s out-of-control campfire. I’m so preoccupied that I barely notice her on the road until it's almost too late—I narrowly avoid hitting her as she jumps out of the way. She’s soft, sweet, and—if I had to guess—half my age. My responsible side tells me to drive her into town and forget about her. But once I pull her into my arms and she melts against me, everything shifts. The urge to protect and take care of her is overwhelming. I’ve made enough mistakes to last a lifetime. Letting this incredible woman slip away won’t be one of them.

I was introduced to this series via Stuff Your Kindle Day, as I willy-nilly downloaded things with random different themes. This is one of those that goes from 0 to 100 pretty instantly and is unrealistic, but who cares?! If you're reading something like this, you're coming for a good time, not an intellectual time, let's be real. There's no real character or story development as it's very short, but your blood gets pumping and it's a fun time.
Quickie review: This was my first book by this author, but definitely not the last. In fact, I immediately grabbed up the next one in the series. Because this chick is all about some instalove, over the top, mountain man romance right now. And Griff was absolutely over the top for Sophie. I just adored these two as a couple and how quickly their romance progressed. Such a fun, spicy read! 5 Stars.
It’s Friday night, my husband of 40 years fell asleep on his recliner a couple hours ago….well, he was asleep until I started reading this book. My grunts of anger when I first started this AWESOME book, followed by sweet oohs and ahhs at the instalove and steamy, super romantic story kept waking him. But, he knows I love my romance novellas, and he got an hour nap before I started this book, so he’s not mad. It is hard to be quiet when a story is this good. From the aggravating step-brother and his friends, to the instalove connection between Griffin and Sophie, I just couldn’t read quietly. The entire story was FABULOUS. The ending was exactly what a good romance story should be, with epilogues. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE extended epilogues because I like to know how the characters I grew to love have fared. I mean, did they get married, did they have children, what else happened in their fictional lives? I finished this WONDERFUL standalone book, (with no cliffhanger), in about an hour. I am SO HAPPY that this is only book one of a new series, and I can’t wait to read the rest of them. If you are looking for an EXCELLENT, quick read, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book.

I was given the opportunity to read an arc copy of this book. Lena Rae is a new to me author, but I absolutely loved this fast paced, well written story! The author bio says: “….. to create stories with the perfect mix of heat, heart and happy ever afters.” And that’s the exact description of what I just read. So now I’m looking forward to reading much more of Lena’s mountain men!
My Mountain Man’s Desire is about single dad Griffin (and his son William)and Sophie. They fall hard for each other from the very beginning. It’s insta love at its best. A definite recommendation!
“I’m not hungry.” Griff’s huge hands rest on my bare thighs as he holds my gaze. “You will be, sweetheart.” Moisture pools between my legs, and I press my thighs together in a useless effort to ease the ache. “I promise you that.”
I also liked the two epilogues, one 6 months after they met and the other 10 years. Just because I love to see that people stay together and love each other as much as when they first met.
My Mountain Man's Desire is Book 1 of Rock Creek. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, forced-proximity, curvy virgin gets her mountain man romance. Sophie is a 23 year old curvy virgin who has recently quit law school. She longs to be a wife and mother. Griffin is a hunky single dad to 6 years old William and owns a construction company with his brothers. When Sophia is asked to go camping with her obnoxious stepbrother and friends, she reluctantly goes but is upset when they light a fire. Griffin shows up, letting them know it needs to be put out. The two are instantly attracted to one another, but she ends up leaving after another insult from her stepbrother. Griffin comes across her walking and ends up taking her back to his cabin. OMG, the chemistry between these two was hot 🔥 hot 🔥 hot 🔥 and we got such a happy ending. I look forward to more books in this series!.

Sophie is the good girl who always does what is asked of her, so when her dad asks that she accompanies her step brother and his friends camping to keep an eye on them she agrees. When it becomes clear the boys are just out to cause problems and disrespect Sophie, she flees down the mountain. In her hurry to escape she almost gets hit by a truck and sprains her ankle. When said owner of the truck happens to be a local 6'5 sexy mountain man, he insists on taking Sophie back to his cabin to let her heal and rest. Who is Sophie to decline such an offer? The two quickly acknowledge the attraction between them and sparks fly.
What started as a nightmare trip for Sophie turns out to be just what she has always wanted.
This was a good quick read to end out my month. It did its job and i really enjoyed it. If insta love isnt for you, and by that i mean 24 hrs before the L bomb is dropped then this isnt for you.
The only reason why I am giving this book a 3 star rating is because I love the cover and I liked the premise of the book.
Honestly, this book had a lot of potential to be a longer novel. I understand the insta-love tropes are really popular now but I need more story. I felt like everything was way too rushed and the time skips were also rushed. There were a few instances where the story didn't make sense and I found myself rereading a few passages to make sense of what I just read.
If the author took more time and fleshed out the story a bit, it would have been a good full length novel. Unfortunately, the insta-love trope isn't really working for me and that's fine. Some people love this story for other reasons and that's great, no everyone is going to have he same taste. Either way. I liked the idea of the story, the age gap, single dad and mountain man.
Their Unplanned Future - This is a spicy instalove romance between Griffin and Sophie, who met when she was forced into a situation she didn’t want to be in, but she found herself in trouble when she tried to get away. Griffin tried to keep his intense attraction towards Sophie in check, but the moment he realised she was interested in him, all bets were off. The steamy encounters between Griffin and Sophie were off the charts HOT, but before they could define their relationship, disaster struck and they had to flee to safety. Luckily, Griffin and Sophie got a chance to have all their dreams come true and the happily ever after they craved. This is an incredibly exciting and steamy short story, that you will absolutely love reading and have fun doing so.

Sophie finds herself, against her better judgement, accompanying her step brother and his friends on a camping trip. Despite her comments to the contrary, they start to light a fire, only to have a huge mountain of a man appear and demand they put it out. Fed up and disgusted by their behaviour she grabs her bag and leaves, intent on walking back to town.
Griff is outraged when he sees smoke in the forest near his cabin and sets out to make sure it is put out. Heading back he nearly runs down a small curvy female walking along the road. One look at her and he's smitten.
A sweet instalove romance between a gruff mountain man and the young woman he falls hard for.

Sophie and Griff meet when he sees a fire lit by her step brother and his friends from his cabin. She tries to tell them to stop feeding it when Griff arrives and makes them put it out but Sophie thinks he has left when she wanted him to take her back to town. She starts walking but twists her ankle when Griff comes tearing down the road nearly missing her. He takes her back to his cabin where their love ignites, his son William is with his grandfather camping in their remote cabin. Her step brother lights another fire which is caught by the wind causing Sophie and Griff to evacuate to town. Here she meets William and he instantly connects with her. Highly recommended reading.
FMC is with her stepbrother on a camping trip when he lights a fire irresponsibly. MMC goes to investigate and put out the campfire due to a fire ban. They meet, and through a few situations, she ends up leaving with him with a sprained foot. He takes care of her fully... and I don't want to give the rest of the plot away. Very fast read. It's probably about an hour. It was a good book, so I would rate it a 3.75 and .5 for spice. I did pick this up on a Stuff Your Kindle Day and am glad I did. I will read more from the author in the future.
Ugh the virgin FMC is so overplayed, think I strained my eyeballs rolling them when the MMC says “Knowing mine is the only cock she’ll ever feel fills me with a love I didn’t know possible.” Really manwhore single dad from a one night stand, go touch grass. And then to add insult to injury the FMC says “He’s so big. Impossibly huge.” How the hell would you know she literally says she has never seen a dick in her life four paragraphs ago. I enjoy a good insta-love snack of a book with the next girl but this author is lazy AF when it comes to troupes. I like my troupes like I like my men….with follow through!
Single Steamy Mountain Dad Griffin is a single dad and lives in the mountains. He’s a volunteer fire fighter along with his brothers (who will get their own stories). They also build log homes. He meets the woman of his dreams by accident and in quick order they are lusting after each other which quickly turns into loving each other. The author did a nice 6 month and 10 year epilogues. Recommending for your reading pleasure. PEACE.

This is a very short book; novella, more or less. I understand that things have to move quickly with it being a stand-alone; however, there is quick and there is this. Don't blink or you'll miss half the story.
We have a lot of tropes here: insta-love, toxic family, virgin fmc, age gap, forced proximity, sort of, and more that I can't state without spoiling.
Anyway, 3 stars. I'd do less but it is what it is - a quick, fluffy romance with spice and not much meat, well, there's meat just not substance.
It has a bit of drama with her stepbrother. Griff notices a fire and he needs to check it out. Her stepbrother and friends are starting a fire during a drought. Griff tells them put it out. He sees her and is instantly attracted to her. She is all but drooling over him. She is tired of her stepbrother and walks away from the camp site. Will they see each other again?.

This was a great instalove romance! I loved everything about Griffin and Sophie's story! To my understanding, mountain man romances are an emerging trope, but this novella felt unique with everything from the meet cute to the ending. Most importantly, the spicy scenes were hot and detailed! I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series! This would be a great palette cleanser or just a sweet and quick story to lighten up your day!
Unbelievably corny. Just all the nonsense tropes of an instalove single dad mountain main romance. And it was even over the top for that.
But it did it a wattpad vibe that is nostalgic for me.
Mountain man. Single dad. Instalove. Virgin FMC (23). Age gap. “All I ever wanted to be was a wife and mom”. Pregnancy. Epilogue 10 years later with 4 kids and pregnant. No breakup. No angst. No plot. No cheating. No OMD/OWD.

This was a super cute and quick read! The spice was well paced and even though it was instalove, I appreciated that it wasn’t just Sophie and Griff immediately going at it. Honestly, with the storyline that this book followed, there was potential for it to be a full length story rather than a novella, but for what it was I enjoyed it!
Tropes Include: Instalove Age Gap Single Dad MMC Inexperienced FMC
Quick, fast paced read. Extremely possessive, rugged, single dad mountain man, falls in instalove with a virgin who is about half his age. Breeding and praise kink. I did appreciated the the FMC was 23 in this story and not barely legal. I love a good age gap, but sometimes authors can go to extremes and that was happily not the case for this book. This was my first book from this author and I am excited to read more of her books.
I love this story of alpha-ness and the HEA at the end. He resues her and looks after her as the object of his desire. Then he refuses to let go??? Swoon... A good story, and as a new author to me, I did really enjoy this quick read.

This wonderful, sweet, fast standalone romance book. The beginning and ending was exactly what a good romance with great epilogues and extended epilogues. The entire story was fantastic. Recommend this book for who looking for an excellent and quick read romance. This is my honest review of an advanced reader copy.
Wow! This was an awesome book. Very insta-love and fast paced. Griff (H) fell fast and hard and wasn't afraid to let Sophie (h) know. There was a little drama with the forest fire, but even that was kinda exciting...thanks to our OTT Griff! Loved it!!!.

This novella was recommended by another author I love and I gave it a chance so quickly. I want to keep reading about this family. Griff and Sophie are cute together. They were both instantly in love with one another in less than a day. It was fast and steamy. I liked it.
This is an entertaining mountain man book short story, the grabs your attention from the start and hold it to the very end. The characters are well developed with steamy magnetic chemistry. I enjoyed this book.

A chance encounter will change their lives forever. Great immediate connection as Griff knows from his first glimpse he’s met his future wife. Loved how they actually meet, with his quick response in keeping her safe at all costs. Liked how easily they blend into family life and their expanding brood.
