Pen name of author A.M. Snead.

Born and raised in scenic Coos County, Oregon, CJ enjoys the small town atmosphere and down-to-earth country folk who populate the area. She is a single mother and lives with her 18-year-old daughter, 1 horse, 4 dogs and 6 cats deep in the country woodlands which gives her plenty of time to write.

Caleb isn't having an easy time on his very first "official" date with Samuel. Not when it turns out that Samuel's stepdad is no other than Brock, the lawyer who wants to exchange sexual favors with Caleb in order to look into getting his brother, Nick's, conviction overturned. 'Torn in Two' is Caleb's second book within his trilogy and I can already tell it's going to be a gut wringer.

Brock makes no bones about Samuel getting his "filthy little whore" out of his home. Personally, I'd've outed the man, but Caleb needs him to get help for Nick, so Caleb is stuck. When Samuel returns after driving Caleb home, Brock lets him know that Samuel needs to break it off with "that trash" because the firm has a reputation to uphold. Yeah. Whatever. Of course Brock shows up at Caleb's apartment that evening to inform him that Caleb must end all contact with Samuel or Brock won't help him. Talk about trash. So in order to save his brother, Caleb does it.

Poor Caleb, and poor Samuel. Caleb is just trying to do what he must to help his brother, no matter how sick inside it makes him feel. Samuel knows something is going on, but he can't get Caleb to tell him what's wrong, and, in fact, Caleb pushes him away. The guys at the club, Max, Dane, Cole and Gabe, all know Caleb is hurting, but he won't tell them either. Max is really hurting too, as is Horatio, as they continue to go back and forth with their desires and reality. At the moment the Phoenix Club is drowning in sorrow and it's really hard to watch.

I will admit to predictability, although I also found that within Abel's stories. I am, once again, going to give you the warning that this author writes sex scenes with rarely any lube, no condoms, and practically no preparation. Both parties enjoy it, except Caleb with Brock, but if that's something that might bother you, then these aren't the books for you. Oh, and one other thing, as this is a new author to the genre, she has a tendency to depict gay men as being able to physically enjoy sex no matter how repulsive they may find the other person. It's a stereotype which I don't agree with, but, again, I'm looking at more than the sex. In regards to the predictability, I overlook most of it, because I want the sweet, sexy, hot drama and eventual happy ever after for my main characters.

I'll be very happy when Brock gets what's coming to him. He was stupid to record his activities on his netbook, and then upload them to his iCloud on his home computer. Looking forward to the finale of Caleb's books.

I'm not even sure why I continue to read this series. It's full of editing errors, the MCs never use protection (although Coulson did when using sexual favors in return for "helping" Caleb's brother with his legal fees). I don't really know much about how prison work but I'm reasonably sure prisoners don't have the run of the facility without being escorted or being supervised in some capacity. Yet once I get started on one of these stories, I have to finish the trilogy.f

COULD.NOT.PUT.THIS.DOWN !!!
OMG What a continuation of Caleb's story this was !!! And, if anything it broke my heart even more so than the 1st part of his story (book 1). In this Caleb has made a deal with the devil himself, Samuel's dad, Brock, to try and help his brother, Nick, to get out of prison. But in doing so has sold his soul to the man and broken not just his own heart but Samuel's too. Samuel doesn't want to believe Caleb when he tells him they're over and even though Caleb doesn't want it to be that way he knows if he's any chance of getting Nick out of prison it's the ONLY way !!
But Samuel doesn't back down and goes digging and what he finds out shocks him to the core !!
What i really loved about this is we got not just an insight into what was happening to Caleb, Samuel and Nick but also Max, Horatio and Dane and we found out a few things that were left unanswered from Abel's books. I really can't wait to continue reading these books !!

Hate when they end like that!
Like these books what can I say they get me all worked up about how unfair life is and how stupid some people are

Samuel wants him and doesn't deny it one bit.
Dane wants him secretly
Brock wants him for an entirely different reason and once again the lead character has to deny love to focus on everyone else. In this case it's a brother and his freedom while the other one was a sister and her medical bills.

So there too many similarities and I'm torn apart where my loyalty is and ahhhh feel like screaming

*** 3 confused-stars ***

“I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you, Caleb.” He murmured. “Even if it means taking a step back. If that’s what you need…You matter to me, Caleb. A lot. I meant it when I said you’re the best thing in my life. I couldn’t bear losing you.”

Shit happen, baby....
Shit happen...indeed.

Poor Caleb...
Want to smash Brock face the the nearest wall.
Wanna hugs Nick.
Cuddling Chris....
And Samuel...?

Oh, one more...

Max...Dane...

And so the plot thickens. You can't help feeling a little sorry for the characters. Their love is being tested to the maximum and we can only hope that everything works out in the end. Caleb's story is so heartbreaking to read. But, this is one of those books that you can't put down once you start to read it. Another amazing instalment from CJ.

This was ok. But some serious editing problems that were hard to overlook. Joshua is now Jacob? How did that happen? I'm assuming that Jacob is supposed to be Nick's cell mate from the first book (Hulk) but he's Jacob in this book. Idk. Small grammatical things and typos I can overlook but this was a pretty big glaring error...
