I never wanted to become a good little soldier for my werebear clan. My dream was to cook good food for hungry people, shifter and human alike, and I’d been successful at selling sandwiches out of my apartment for a while before The Boss sent his cronies after me.
I was able to prove my skills in the kitchen, and The Boss offered me a deal I couldn’t refuse.
But my only chance to make the fifty thousand dollars I needed to buy my freedom is a local cooking competition. Am I good enough to buy the life I’ve always dreamed of?
Eric Vall is a great storyteller! He is capable of creating a good read with the most unlikely subjects and characters. He out did himself with this offering. The only problem I encountered with the story was the misdirection with gender. I thought that something had gone wrong when he referred to the MC as he and him. The book cover with the beautiful blond did not show the MC who is really a guy. Oh well, I suppose that the old saying “sex sells” works with a “bear” cover girl!
No seriously... Just reading half the cooking and fold in this book and me drooling and stomach rumbling.
But food aside, love the book and characters. The way the shifter packs, clans etc work is varied and twisted but interesting, and the story is compelling that had me turning the pages non-stop.
This was a fantastic little adventure with really interesting characters and a fun and exciting storyline! You won't be able to put it down and I cannot wait for the next one!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters were incredibly interesting and engaging. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. This book is definitely worth checking out.
A very good introductory book to a new series. It is nice to see a shifter or beastkin story located on the earth. Plenty of action, drama, strife, violence, and romance. Eager for the next book.
I really enjoyed this one. Eric Vall is branching out into something new but familiar enough that his regular readers will enjoy. Buy it, it’s worth it.
