This is such a sweet & spicy feel good story! Liam & Lark are both atypical personalities that perfectly complemented each other!
Lark is a successful salon owner and has devoted all of her time and energy into running her business. After a bad breakup Lark comes back to her home town of Echo Cove to try to reset. Everything goes from bad to worst when there’s a problem with her rental. Now she’s living with her brother’s best friend and he might be the only person who doesn’t hate her prickly exterior.
Liam is a successful tattoo artist who struggles with social anxiety. He hasn’t been in a relationship in 10 years and he thought he liked it that way. Now he can’t help but want more with his best friend’s sister.
Plant Boy & his angry Little Cactus = ADORABLE.
I had the best time reading this story. I felt like the characters were very unique. Liam and Lark’s physical chemistry was great, but once they start breaking down all the walls between them, their emotional chemistry was so good!
ARC read, Do you need an emo tattoo artist who’s a golden retriever and tall? Well besties have I got the man for you! I’m manifesting my own Liam after reading this AMAZING read from Holly. 4.5 stars. That spice? Delicious. That man? Hot. Lark? Me and my black cat personality feel seen. Beautiful story from Holly once again!!
I’m going to convince you to read Going Coastal with 3 words, ready? Tattooed gentle giant. Not convinced yet? Let me tell you about Liam, Saint Bernard energy, 6’6, honey eyes and a filthy mouth in the sheets. He’d do anything for our girl Lark, including being her fake boyfriend in a time of need.
“I've been alone for so long, and that was okay until now. Until this woman and her prickly attitude sauntered into my life and upset my carefully crafted routine. Now every minute of every day I find myself wondering what Lark is doing, or what she's thinking…”
Liam and Lark take us on a cute little ride through the town Echo Cove, filled with forced proximity, bratty banter and spice. But is their relationship all for show? I guess you’ll have to read to find out 🤭
First off is anyone really surprised I gave this 5 stars? I will devour absolutely anything and everything Holly writes and this book is NOT the exception.
In just 200 pages this story had EVERYTHING! Spice, banter, loveable characters, vulnerable teary-eyed moments and a whole lot of fun summer vibes.
I have never connected with an MMC like I do with Liam. He made me tear up more than once just because of how seen he made me feel 🥹🫶🏼
What a delightful summer read. This book is all vibes and sweetness. It was soft and light and, sometimes that is exactly what you want.
Lark & Liam are the perfect balance of quirky, weird, prickly, and insecure. Their chemistry felt so natural. It didn’t give insta-lust vibes even though it kinda was. I love that about this story.
This was a short and sweet read perfect for the end of summer (for those of you experiencing the end of summer weather haha.)
I loved Liam’s love of plants and the way he, like many adults, lives with some form of undiagnosed ADHD/sensory issues. The way he truly sees Lark and appreciates her for who she is was so wonderfully healing.
Lark is prickly but she’s also been betrayed and talked down to by enough people that she just sort of shut down, or believe what they say is true. I loved that she felt protective over Liam and appreciated him for all that he is. They were a perfect pair and a great balance.
This book is so funny and had me giggling and kicking my feet. Just the perfect soft and sweet, low-stakes, small town romance.
I want to get on a plane and take a trip to Echo Cove, maybe get a tattoo by Liam himself.
Liam and Lark are actual couple goals. I love their banter. The fact that he calls her an "angry little cactus" was my favorite. I am completely obsessed with them. Lark is so fierce and amazing. she deserved everything and more. Liam was a shy golden retriever that had me swooning from the moment I met him.
I didn't think I could love a couple as much as Aidan and Lyla from Holly Crawford's Grand Slam Love series but she blew my mind with Liam and Lark. I will forever be thinking about them.
Thank you Holly Crawford for the ARC and this amazing story.
There miss hasn’t been a book written by Holly Crawford that I don’t love! Going Coastal might’ve just been the perfect end of summer read so that I can transition into my fall/halloween reads! After getting dumped by her horrendous boyfriend, while in the middle of cutting his hair, Lark decides to head back to her hometown to regather herself, and after every possible thing that could go wrong during travel does all Lark wants is to crash into her condo and sleep for about a week. But once again the universe is out for her and her condo has been double booked and she’s left standing in the rain with no where to go… never fear though because the sassy older women she met getting off the shuttle to Echo Cove has a plan… Her son just so happens to be looking for a roommate! A roommate who just so happens to be her brother’s best friend! After a bit of a rocky start though the two decided to set aside their poor first introduction and be friends. But what was suppose to be a quick trip home has resparked Larks love for Echo Cove and is starting to seem like a more permanent stay with every passing day. Of course when you throw in the shy, sweet, plant obsessed tattoo artist who wouldn’t want to plant some roots. After tragically losing his father and being burned by someone he thought he loved years ago Liam has put shields around his heart, and has no plans of being anything other than a good friend to his best friends “little” sister, no matter how much her “prickly” attitude and beauty are burrowing under his skin. Not to mention not too many people want to stick around and deal with his personality quirks for the long haul. But when a few terrors from the past show up in Echo Cove Liam and Lark decided to give fake dating a shot to keep the terrors away… but with feelings morphing from friendship to something much more both Lark and Liam are feeling they may not want their relationship to be fake after all! OMG yall I absolutely loved this book! Liam and Lark were amazing characters who I related to immediately! Lark is a black cat girl who has her people that she loves fiercely but to the rest of the world she’s got claws and sass and she isn’t afraid to use either! As for Liam he’s a shy, sweet, St. Bernard of a man who loves plants, likes people just fine, but has no problem protecting those he cares for. And their banter I couldn’t get enough of! And the romance in this book y’all it was so sweet, and silly, and so so real I just couldn’t stop reading. So if you’re looking for a sweet, hilarious, slightly spicy summer small town, fake dating, romance filled with amazing characters, laughing until your cry banter, and the sweetest moments than make sure to grab a copy of Going Coastal.
Thank you so much @authorhollycrawford for giving me this opportunity to read and review your book. This was one of my best reads of 2024. I'm so excited to read your other works and the rest of the Echo Cove Series. 💙
My Ratings : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Spice: 🌶🌶🌶
I ATE THIS BOOK UP!! I literally read it in one sitting, this book is super addictive... It kept me on hook since page one, couldn't put it down at all. This was an absolute adorable read, with the perfect coastal small town summer vibes.
So this is how the story goes!!... After Lark (the successful hair salon owner FMC) gets dumped by her arsehole of a boyfriend, she decides home is what she needs right now to heal. That is where she bumps into Liam ( the tattoo artist MMC who also happens to be her brother's best friend with a penchant for gardening). They are forced to become roommates and fake date each other because of certain circumstances. In just 200 pages the book has EVERYTHING!! Spice, banter, loveable characters, vulnerable teary-eyed moments and such a whole lot of coastal vibes. I loved how they gave each other the cutest nicknames... I feel like taking a trip to Echo Cove and experience all this and maybe get myself a tattoo from Liam ( the actual hotness). Both Liam and Lark complemented each other so much, Lark with her fierce personality and plant daddy Liam with his emo vibes.
Actually this was my first read from Holly and I loved every second of it. Hoping to read more works from her in the future. I definitely recommend this book to everyone and I'm surely going to re read this in Summers (bonus points if it's on a Beach 🏖)
✔️twin brother’s best friend ✔️forced proximity ️salon owner x tattoo artist ✔️small coastal town ✔️no 3rd act breakup
4.5⭐️
This book is the perfect low angst quick read. It is spicy, but it is a slower burn so we are really invested in the characters and where things are going with their relationship before the spice hits. I love the fake dating trope, especially when we all know it isn’t really fake, the main characters just need to face their fears and be honest with each other. It was very sweet how it all came together and I can’t tell you how happy I was that this is a brother’s best friend book where the brother isn’t weird about his friend and sister getting together.
Lark is back in her hometown after a horrible breakup, and Liam (her twin brother’s best friend) offers her a place to stay when her rental falls through. When her ex shows up with his new fiancee (that was fast) Liam makes a snap decision to claim that Lark is his girlfriend. They decide to keep up their fake dating arrangement until the ex leaves town again, however it starts feeling real pretty much immediately.
Since it is a shorter story, some plot points are brought up and dropped fairly quickly (for example, after seeing the ex twice and agreeing to fake date for “revenge” he isn’t seen or brought up again, it didn’t feel fully complete, just that Lark and Liam are really in a relationship and happy), but it didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. This is a solid comfort read contender and I am looking forward to seeing what else happens in this series in the future.
Crawford has made an amazing 200 page brothers best friend, smutty goodness of a book. While other shorter books might struggle with fast pacing, Going Coastal excels at the speed it’s at with having the characters know about each other but this is their fall deep in love story.
It’s an awful ex boyfriend, return to small town story about spitfire and hair salons owner, Lark, who finally meets her twin brother’s best friend, Liam, a tattooist with a penchant for gardening.
At this point in both of their lives, they have narrowly avoided each other even though they’ve known about each other for the longest time. This is what helps make that fast pacing not quite so instant love and instead more of a finally have met and it feels like you’ve known the other for so long.
You have some forced proximity, a sprinkle of fake dating, and boom: Going Coastal.
There is a whole bunch of smut and it is smutting (is that a word?) with brat taming, no protection (pls do actually tho), and more. Their descent into love comes with adoration, lust, and mutual endearment as they get to know each other beyond what they’ve only ever heard about from others.
It’s like finding your soulmate and I think a scene with Lark and her father explains it best. I love it when characters get some learned experience and knowledge from an older person who’s lived through it.
Going Coastal is a fun, flirty, romance with lots of spice and many instances in which your heart just melts for them.
I happily read this book in its ARC form in return for my honest review (the above).
First I would like to say a big thank you to Holly for letting me be apart of this ARC Team!

What to expect when reading Going Coastal; -Small Town -Fake Dating -Novella but a bit longer -Black cat FMC -Revenge Plot
She’s done it again y’all! First of you haven’t read the Grand Slam series, especially book two you need to because it’s one of my top reads of the year but I think this one might have topped it!
Holly Crawford has become one of my favorite authors hands down!
Lark the spunky FMC is a successful hair salon owner, but when she gets dumped home sounds really nice. That’s where she bumps into our tattooed MMC Liam that also happens to be her brother’s bff.
Their chemistry was chefs kiss! The storyline gave the perfect hint of plot, character growth, spice and perfect ending! Like a tattooed shy gold retriever? Yes please!! The nicknames they have for each other have to be my favorite nicknames I’ve come across while reading lol I don’t want to give too much away but I LOVE THEM!
I will be recommending this book to everyone!
Fav Line: Ummmm the whole book! & “I’m all in little cactus”
Make sure you get the book when it releases Sept. 20th🩶 #bookstagram #romance #review
“If she’ll have me, I plan on making the rest of Lark’s life as happy as I possibly can, and I haven doubt she’ll do the same for me.”
~Novella ~Forced proximity ~Brother’s best friend ~Fake dating ~Small coastal town setting
After Lark finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on her, she runs back home for a much needed break. When she has the travel day from hell, she ends up staying at her brother’s best friend’s house. Liam is used to working and keeping to himself. When Lark shows up with her spirit and attitude, he’s immediately drawn to her. An unfortunate run in with her ex (and his new girl) sparks an idea to fake date but we alllll know it’s never fake for long.
This was actually my first read by Holly and I loved every second of it. I’m always open to new authors, especially when it’s a novella/shorter read and this one did not disappoint. I loved that this book did address some heavier topics but it still felt fun and lighthearted. I’ll definitely be reading more of this series when it comes out. Thanks so much for the chance to binge this early ♡
This is a shorter, slow burn, with some spice easy read! The author is new to me and it will for sure not be my last book I read. Liam and Lark are a golden retriever black cat energy couple.
Lark is a successful two location owner hair stylist who gets dumped. Taking a hit to her ego, she packs up her bags and decides to move back to her hometown. Unable to have anywhere to stay she meets a lady who offers her son’s spare room. Only to find out it’s her brother’s best friend Liam. Sparks fly as they seek revenge on her cheating ex who happens to be in town with his new fiancé while trying to fake date. Liam falls first and hard. Watching him accept and soften Lark was something special. Definitely read this or add to your TBR for a nice change of pace read!
I loved the mental health rep that Liam faces with undiagnosed ADHD, anxiety, sensory and needing routine. As a mother of a special needs child it’s always nice to see it being brought to awareness as well as knowing what my daughter could feel in the future.
Thank you to the author for this e-arc, opinions are my own.
holly, as always, you serve an absolutely delicious mmc and fmc. i was absolutely drooling over both my plant daddy and red. Going Coastal is the perfect way to finish out the summer! Who doesn’t love a revenge plot x brothers best friend AND THEY WERE ROOMMATES (yes i rewatched this vine thousand times lol). Liam, you made me feel seen- you were so well written to showcase a struggle so many of us face daily. Lark, never lose your attitude- you reinforced the belief that the right ones will see through the spitfire persona, and tame you 😉 holly, thank you for allowing me to ARC LiamLark and for being my friend🫶 Oh and to my Carol, my dancing queen- i cannot wait to get more of you in the books to come

I. ATE. THIS. BOOK. UP. Seriously. I read this in one sitting and I absolutely adored it. It’s a very quick read. 𝑮𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒍 is fun, charming, and oh so steamy. The vibes were vibing. Nothing beats a black cat FMC and a down bad MMC that can handle her bratty side. I am quite literally obsessed with Liam + Lark. These two complemented each other so well. Lark with her fiery personality, and plant daddy Liam with his emo vibes. I simply loved them to pieces. This book features some top tier tropes. FMC moving in with the MMC, FMC’s brothers best friend, fake dating, and a revenge plot…GO OFF 👏🏼 Truthfully, I could go on endlessly about everything I loved about 𝑮𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒍. Y’all need to read this book!

I didn't want to put this book down, but I also didn't want the book to be over so quickly, so I tried to take my time reading it so I could really just emerge myself into the world of Going Costal.
I thought that she put a really unique twist on the brothers best friend trope which I'm really happy about because usually I can't read those tropes, but in Holly Crawford I trust and it was written so beautifully.
I loved the foreshadowing about Fish.
I think that it was a really good start to the series because the book has left me intrigued about the other characters, and what will happen in the next books, and if they will find there significant other.
Currently I'm guessing if the next book is going to be about Keelan, because he is quite an intriguing side character, which is also how I feel about Larks ex-bestfriend
This was a cute and quick summer read! The spice, banter, and swoony moments were everything in this one.
I loved our man Liam. He is so sweet, quiet, and talented with a hidden dirty side. I loved all of the parts that made him him. Then we have our girl Lark who is sassy and forward. She doesn't mind telling it like it is. I love that she speaks her mind.
These two had some funny banter that had me laughing throughout, and their physical connection was HOTTTTT. Like please.
FISH. OMG. Fish was the CUTEST little thing, and I adored him with everything. The ending had all the romantic swoon. It was so perfect.

As soon as I saw this dedication, I knew I would love this book 😂
This was such a fun, sweet, quick read! I loved Liam and Lark’s dynamic. The teasing and banter was so fun, and I loved seeing them slowly open up to each other. You can only resist a tattooed man in short shorts for so long 😜
Holly’s books always have the sweetest found family vibes, and I love all the characters! I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more of this world 💕

🐚ARC Review🐚 This was SUCH a sweet read. Short and filled with the perfect amount of romance and spice. Liam was a dream MMC. His sweet, quirky personality and Larks prickly personality balanced and fit together so well. I enjoyed how the relationship formed and grew. I love when a love story seems authentic and realistic and I think the author did such a great job at making the connection feel so real over such a short amount of time. I’ve rated this 4/5 stars because I felt like how Liam was portrayed at his and Larks first couple of encounters seemed out of his character compared to how he was the rest of the book. Other than this, it really was such an enjoyable read. If you’re looking for a great palate cleanser, this is definitely a great choice. Excited to pick up more by this author. Thanks, Holly, for giving me an opportunity to read and review this before your release!
If you are looking for a quick, cute, summer feel read, look no further! This novella has it plus banter and tatted up cinnamon roll MMC!
This novella follows Liam and Lark! Lark is sassy and straight to the point. I’m sure she suffers from RBF like I do ha! After breaking up with her ex, she moves back home to Echo Cove and meets Liam. Liam own his own tattoo parlor and happens to be Larks brothers best friend!
The banter between the too is hilarious! Plant boy had me cracking up when Lark first used it! Also, Fish is a dog I want to meet asap!
I absolutely adored this read! Liam and Lark were everything, and their family’s are top tier! This is a small town romance with spice, cheating ex’s, and one dam cute dog! If you’re looking for a plant daddy or a black cat fmc I highly suggest Going Coastal! You’re gonna love it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Going Coastal by Holly Crawford is the first book in the Echo Cove series and Going Coastal releases September 20th

This was such a fun read it would be a great summer ready if you like to read for seasons. I loved the way the characters grew but stayed true to them selfs. I would recommend this book to anyone who just needs a book that will make you feel all the way through start to finish. I read this on kindle unlimited but I will be buying it so I can have it in my personal library.
🤍🤍ARC REVIEW: Going Costal by Holly Crawford🤍🤍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Golden retriever mmc and a black cat fmc with spice that hits the spot…everything I was looking for in a book. This is a brother’s best friend small town romance. Fast paced, great connection between characters. I can’t wait to read more from this series.
Oh. My. God. Liam for sure tops the list for book boyfriends.
He is the sweetest of all men, but also has a dirty mouth on him. He is obsessed with plants and is a big teddy bear. He is the sunshine to Lark’s grumpy and we love him for it.
Lark is such a black cat, or as Liam likes to call her, his little cactus and I loved her personality. I enjoyed seeing her open up and show her devotion to those she cares about. She is confident in who she
I cannot wait to see where this series goes. As always, Holly’s writing was amazing and I didn’t want to put this one down.
I first wanted to thank Holly for giving me an arc for her newest book and an even bigger thank you for getting me out of this reading slump of mine.
I seriously could not put this book down. I needed more!!! holly did such an amazing job giving us Liam our tattooed gentle giant who I just kept growing more and more obsessed with as the story went on. Don’t get me started on my girl Lark her and spunky attitude which I personally loved. This would have had other men running but Liam saw through her the minute he saw her. Overall these two were each others missing pieces and the perfect person for each other.
If you love beach vibes, spice, tattooed MMCs, black cat FMC, and an adorable dog this book is for you!!!
Once again @authorhollycrawford brought me to tears with her writing. Larks difficulty trusting people because of how she’d been fucked over rests heavy on my heart. These characters filled me with so much joy. I highly recommend. Thank you again for giving me the privilege to arc your book!!
I think I just found my dream relationship! I loved this book so much. I couldn’t put it down!! The romance between the two characters is amazing. I just love how the book was written and I’m obsessed with Holly’s writing and cannot wait to read more!!! To Liam and Lark and their little corner in Echo Cove!
This took me way longer to finish because of my boards and then the hurricane but I loved this book so much!! The fake dating and everything was just perfect. I absolutely love anything Holly writes so much and this was no exception. Adding to my long list of book boyfriends and hopefully adding to my shelf soon!
Such a great start to,what I hope will be, a series. All the characters were fun and the small town feel, perfect. Prickly Lark and sunny Jake were a great mix of friends to lovers to soul mates. After a disastrous breakup Lark returns to her home town and lodges with her twin brother’s best friend, enjoy….
