hot. hot. HOT. when I first read Coming Home Country, I became so intrigued with the storyline set up for Tripp and Penny. Childhood friends to lovers? Years of pining? It just sounded wayyy too good. And, oof. You are truly in a treat for their love story in Crashing the Alter. Both of our MCs are FERAL for one another. Not gonna lie, I had to put the book down sometimes because DAMN the spice was just another level. But, behind the spicy scenes of the book, you get to witness all of the emotions Tripp and Penny had both prior to getting together and finally being with one another. Seeing Tripp so heartbroken at the prospect of Penny getting married had me YELLING at the man to man up and just express his feelings. But at the same time, Penny was no better by just settling when her heart was with another man. However, what adds to their romance and the story was also the outside push they received from friends and family. At moments, seeing our MCs beat around the bush at their feelings felt a bit frustrating, but nothing could beat witnessing some small town tough love and the author definitely provided that.
And, then FINALLY, our happy MCs are with one another <3 but, of course, without the break they deserve :'). If I'll be honest, a part of me kind of wishes the story had a bit more to test their relationship and provided some character growth for Penny. However, I think the way the author expresses just how much these two are so in love with one another that figuring each other out isn't really necessary when they know so much about one another also made a bit of sense. Just like Tucker & Bex's book, this one will give you a whirlwind of what's going on in the little town of Rust Canyon and with a hell lot of spice.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to read this book and when I say I was giddy reading the spicy scenes, I WAS GIDDY!! hehe it felt like reading a pair of love birds who finally got their "break" despite all the chaos they've been through. But, would Penny really want it any other way without a thrill??
Thank you to the author and her team for the eARC! I love sharing my opinions with others, and I hope if you read this, I can read your thoughts as well!!
