This had promise but it missed the mark for me. I could definitely see where the author was going but the pacing was off. Also I feel like they needed to maybe make this a bit longer because the ending was rushed. The chemistry between the 3 characters was hard for me to believe and I think that’s because this was one POV. The editing and formatting need to be cleaned up as well, a few times I got confused on who was talking. I see they have more paranormal so I’ll definitely try one out but this one just wasn’t for me.

I do have to mention that there needs to be a TW for DV since it’s on page.

I mean this book was cute I guess (or as cute as you can be with DV sprinkled in it). There are a lot of run-on sentences and a few misused words. I’m trying to look past that and at the actual story to formulate my opinion though.

This is a MFM romance story told from the FMC’s POV. We follow Champagne for three days and a lot happened for this book to only be about 100 pages. I don’t necessarily mean that in a bad way (although sometimes I’d read something and be like “okay, how did we get here?”). I just meant that we witness Champagne experience physical and emotional abuse, escaping that situation, meeting Lucian and Nico and getting to know them, some 👉🏾👌🏾, the return of her abuser and a little more than that all within 100 pages.

Champagne came off as very (for lack of better words) meek, Lucian was very much the grumpy yet caring provider, and Nico gave open-book yet forceful protector. Most of our time is spent getting to know Lucian and Nico and understanding their personalities.

It would’ve been interesting to read how the throuple’s day-to-day dynamic worked. Like Lucian and Nico are cool with both of them being fated to Champagne, but I would’ve liked to see how Champagne adjusted. She went from a relationship with an abuser right into a relationship with two wolves who doted on her. I know that took some time to get used to. I also would’ve liked to see how she chose to spend time with each wolf. (But obviously Champagne adjusted well given the epilogue.)

Also, I was surprised Lucian and Nico gave Champagne the option to leave. In other paranormal books I’ve read, that’s not even a consideration when it comes to mates. I really liked that element of the story.

Some content spoilers.

It was a decent read. There were too many grammatical errors. The parts describing the DV the FMC suffered made me angry. Her husband was a punk. The body shaming triggered me. If I had known DV and body shaming were a part of this book I would not have read it. That’s on me for not reading the summary. There was a lot of trauma in this short 99 page read but I think the authored handled it well.

Loved the Story… BUT

I loved the story and fell in love with the main characters but there were so many grammar and formatting issues that I had a hard time looking past. I love everything Melody writes and the stories really do stick with me. Also a fat FMC is my DREAM. Never stop writing shifter romance. Also a bonus scene would be great!

The story was good

A good quick read. The only thing about this book is the grammatical errors and misspelling of words.

It’s a short story so there’s no way to cover or go into great depth about each character but the little bit that was covered in the book, was good enough.

This book had the potential to be great, but I don’t think the author executed it well. Everything was going well until she met her mates, and then the chemistry and the “ shifter romance” didn’t make the cut, and then the epilogue was weirdly included. I’m going to read book 2 to see if it’s better because it’s by a different author.

This one missed the mark for me. There was more drama and trauma than love. There was a miss opportunity to explain the ways of the shifters and the new community. There were a lot of missed opportunities to bring the story together before the rushed ending. I understand it is a short story/novella but I had high hopes for this one I’m a bit disappointed.

Must read

This was a great read. It wasn't your typical storyline. I get tired of reading different books but have the same storyline. The storyline flowed well but I did not see her killing her husband.. But I'm glad she got away from him

Ok

This was ok. Needed a little more depth. First read by this author. Came off as juvenile at times. Would have liked dual point of views. I would give her another shot.

*****Spoilers*****

This story just isn't well developed at all. There are numerous grammatical errors, punctuation errors, run-on sentences, incomplete sentences, and plot holes that it's almost impossible to enjoy the book. I don't even know what he characters look like besides the fact that Champagne is curvy.

Champagne is an overweight wife to Jerome. The two grew up together but the more success Jerome had, the more he wanted what his new social circles had which was a thin wife. Jerome was also physically and emotionally abusive to Champagne, commenting on her size and punching her in the stomach where supposedly brushes wouldn't show. Champagne leaves Jerome when he beats her up after a night out and Champagne catches a taxi or something to a bus station. While at the bus station, she gets a text from her husband that he can see her location and was coming for her, but lucky for Champagne, she's mistaken for someone named Ashley at the bus station. There is a bus full of investors, Ashley being one of them, who are on a trip to a werewolf town to do some tours for their investment purposes. It's really murky because Champagne has no details since she's an imposter, but each investor is paired with one or in Champagne/Ashley's case, two shifters to show them around.

Champagne fakes her way through to meeting Lucien who takes off with her to the home he shares with Nico. There's a bad winter storm that blows in fiercely so the weather is less than ideal and Lucien and Champagne just make it to Lucien and Nico's house without spinning off the road. Lucien is grumpy and put out but Nico in contracts is nicer and shows right away how interested he is in Champagne.

Despite the weather being crap and her not knowing where she is or how to get anywhere in the town, Champagne runs out of the house and into winter weather to get away from Lucien who said something she was hurt by about Christmas. Hunh? As a result, Champagne breaks her ankle and Lucien goes and rescues her. Like how did she get so far so fast and neither Lucien nor Nico stopped her foolishness? There could be a number of reasons, such as Nico fighting Lucien which delays the rescue, or Nico and Lucien arguing before they recall themselves and one goes to her rescue, or whatever. The issue is that the author just leaves it with no explanation. It makes even less sense once we're let in on the fact that Champagne is their mate. Later in the book, we get that they take her protection and safety very importantly as her mates which makes it more eye rolling for me.

To summarize the rest of the book, Champagne decides to stay with Lucien and Nico after one day of knowing them, a purchase she made brings her husband running (right to Lucien and Nico's door no less even though she swiped her card at a store in the town, there's no explanation for why Jerome knew which house he should go to), Champagne shoots Jerome after Jerome shot Nico and tried to snatch her back, and Nico and Lucien cover up his death as a drug deal gone wrong. They own a junkyard and have dirt on high ranking officials. Baby and happily ever after ensue.

I scoffed at so much in this book and usually I'm able to suspend my belief but this one just missed the mark so badly it was an excruciating read for me.

This story had a lot of promise from the title and the cover which is gorgeous but it fell flat for me.

For starters there should’ve been a trigger warning for the on page DV that happened. I get authors, not doing it at times but for something on page I feel like there should be some warning for readers who have that particular trigger.

Also, the actual story felt clumsy when reading. I was getting confused on the investors aspect of the story as well. Everyone taking a bus to go there, but then you could easily travel to the place by driving. I also was a bit confused on her being so insecure with her weight and not wanting to eat in front of people and that issue kind of getting glossed over and everyone went on about their lives. There truly wasn’t enough romance happening when in the actual title, it’s marketed as a paranormal romance. There was a lot of trauma that happened with the FMC as well as both MMC‘s that took away from showing the actual romance between them.

The formatting and grammatical errors were a tad bit distracting at times when I was reading and did kind of take away from the experience.

I would still read from this author maybe it was just this book.

Champagne is desperate to leave her abusive marriage, so she hops on a bus heading for shifter territory, not realizing she’s stepping into her destiny.

Nico and Lucian are two brothers living a quiet life when a snowstorm unexpectedly traps them with the woman they’ve been waiting for their whole lives.

I really enjoyed the premise of this book! It’s told entirely from Champagne’s perspective, and I found myself wishing for a bit of insight from the other characters as well. My only other thought is that the book could benefit from another round of editing. There were quite a few punctuation and grammatical errors, and a few details felt a bit contradictory. Despite that, it was still a solid and engaging story!

Angsty Story With A Fluffy Ending

This story was okay. IPV portion of the story could have been written better. FMC would know better than to use her debit card anywhere, especially since she threw away her phone.

I wasn't particularly attached to any of the characters. Nothing got me emotionally invested in them. The romance parts are kind of cute, I wish there was more development there than the abusive relationship and bus trip.

Also, more importantly. This needs another editing pass. Badly.

Was this story even proofread? There are so many inconsistencies and plot holes. Why would a group of investors take a bus in the middle of the night from an actual bus station? If everyone knew each other wouldn't they have photos of the investors? Didn't she just break her ankle? Why does everyone have so much trauma? Did she actually say that she doesn't eat in front of men? What the actual. . . So, a man is insulting your woman, your mate, but you leave her unprotected because of your temper? What? I just skimmed the rest of the story.

Snowed in

I liked the story. I didn’t really feel the instant connection between Champagne and the alphas. I did like them together but the chemistry wasn’t really there. There were a few things that stood out to me. Sometimes it was hard to know who was talking. It was never mentioned if she let Kia know she was staying. The last thing she did was tell her she would call her back then she wasn’t mentioned again. I’m looking forward to the other books in the series.

Despite its short length, Snowed In With The Alphas delivers a surprising twist that caught me off guard. Shadow Ridge Creek sets the perfect backdrop for this fast-paced romance. The world-building is immersive, making the town feel alive, and the characters—Champagne, Nico, and Lucian—have enough depth to form a real connection with the reader. If you’re looking for a quick yet satisfying read with supernatural elements and a little spice, this one’s worth picking up!

Good Story Plot Potential

⭐️⭐️⭐️.75|🌶️🌶️
The story plot was good but the pacing was off. It felt slow in the beginning but very rushed towards the end. I also wished it had more depth especially with the heavy triggers. Overall I am very interested in reading more of this collab series! 💖

Please stop writing plus size characters that are insecure, like I’m sorry it’s tired it’s played and it just gives low effort. The story was just okay to me I never felt that spark between the FMC and her mates at all. Not the worse story but really just lacked that extra umph that most shifter stories have.

I’m really starting to like this dark paranormal romance books. A woman fleeing an abusive marriage finds herself living a double life and meets an aggressive man along with his sweet and cuddly friend. Stuck in a snowstorm, things are bound to happen. That it did. I’m curious to continue this series and see how other authors bring this world to life.

It was cute. It just felt rushed and slightly underdeveloped. Of course humankind would be cruel to supernatural people but adding that to a book with DV—highlighting cruelty by humans—and it’s a romance is a lot of ground to cover in so few pages. Chapters in first person for Nico and Lucian would have been nice too.

Mad as hell, it wasn't longer 🤣 I loved it. This is the first romantasy/paranormal book I've read, and I can see the vision now. I am now more open to these types of books. I really liked this one, I'm just mad it wasn't longer.

I loved that Champagne got away and found what she needed to find. It was short and sweet.

I wouldn’t mind being snowed in ☺️

This was a good quick read. I finished this in one day. Actually in a couple of hours. The beginning was kind of triggering (I won’t spill the beans 🫘) but I’ll just say if your sensitive to woman getting abused, this read is not for you. At least not the beginning of this book. 📕 other than that, it’s nothing but pure romance 🥰 by two Alphas.

Not for me

The story had too many wholes in it for me. Perhaps it was to keep the story short. For me the story jumped around too much and was repetitive where it didn’t need to be. The story line had a lot of potential, it just feels like it needs to be worked and really explored to be better.

So y’all for me this had so much potential. The build up was written well, but when Champagne got with the two Alphas the storyline was all over the place. In my opinion. And I lowkey feel like the story was rushed. Especially with everything that took place. After than that, the story had some really cute moments.

I was intrigued from the beginning.

Imagine running for your life then ending up mated.
Also imagine your low self-esteem letting you believe no one would be interested in you anyway.
But then you see the light. We also get a great story of redemption and acceptance.

I was waiting for this to come out and I enjoyed it. The story did not pan out the way I thought it would and it made it nice. There were a few typos and some formatting issues but that didn’t take away from anything. Nice quick read.

2 wolves are better than one 🐺

This was a delightful love story, unique in its own way, and it ultimately worked out well for Champagne. I was thrilled that Jerome got what he deserved, and Champagne was the one to deliver it. Instant love, fated mates—this story gave it all.
