This book was okay, nothing special. The heroine works for the Department of Justice and when he boss hands her another undercover assignment she does not want it, ever since she adopted her nephew after her sister's death, she has wanted a desk job but somehow she takes the job, investigating the hero Jack, who's grandfather was a mob boss, about claims of selling out his country.
I don't know why I didn't like the way it was written, the hero for most of the book was like an expressionless wood, the heroine is his secretary and I didn't understand how she fell for him in the beginning when he had hardly been friendly to her. The hero's family also tries to throw them together, he consequently breaks it off with the woman he was seeing, since Kyra seems to awaken something in him, when they become intimate Kyra feels guilty since she's been lying to him and he would never believe what was between them was real, of course that happens and he sends her away but family brings them together again. Somehow, the book was lacking in something and the characters seemed dimensionless.
