It's been ten years since I stared into those blue eyes and broke her heart.
After that, she disappeared. She left and never looked back... until now.
But she can't hide the heartbreak hat's still in her eyes... and something else that I can't place.
Now that she's back? In my city? In my sights? I'll never be able to let her go. Except new dangers outweigh the old ones and I'm not sure we even stand a chance.
The question is, will she look me in the eye and lie to me?
This is a dark mafia romance told in dual POV and has no cheating and a HEA. This is book three in a series of three interconnected standalones, each of which features one of the Romano brothers. Trigger warnings listed inside the book.
I couldn't wait for Marco's story, and I'm so sorry I felt bad for Marco he didn't deserve any of what Sloane put him, though, when she thought he broke her heart. Like he did for a reason, and 10 years have passed. She's back, and he wants to talk to her. Tell her what happened and why he had to do it. And what does she do. Tell him she's doesn't need to know he's nothing to her. Even when something is going on and stalking his girl, he's always in and what she does always talking smack. She is stubborn, and when he finally tells her the truth she's hurt and tells him it doesn't change anything. But still sleeps with him. HE DESERVED SO MUCH MORE!!
She annoyed me so much 🙄 and it wasn't until izzy set her straight when she finally saw she was letting it ruin her future. Also her secret wasn't a big secret. And she was scared he would get mad at something that she had no control over. Lots of making up now and drama with the bad guy.
Low angst, no ow/om drama, no cheating, secondary characters, Drama, sexy times, no virgins or manwhores

Okay yep. This man is the new standard. He was so down badddddd from the beginning to the end. He was celibate for 10 YEARS because he was waiting for her. And his explanation? “I loved you then, and I’ve been loving you ever since. Why would I want anyone else when I’ve already had perfection?”
I will say this tho. I did not like the ending. I would have wanted to see Marco and Sloane start a family. I get why Luca and Izzy didn't. But this felt out of character for Marco and Sloane (at least for me). Also, because this was the end of the series, I wanted an epilogue involving all the characters from previous books. I was kinda disappointed when that didn't happen.
This was an emotional second chance romance, filled with lovable characters and the Romano brothers who will burn the world down for their women. Marco has longed for Sloane for 10 years, and now she's back in the City he can't let her go. But they have history, their families are rivals, and some heartaches are took much to forgive. I loved how the flashbacks to the past help piece together their missing history and show the ups and downs of their love story. Combined with the drama of the present and Sloane's threatening notes, it keeps you intrigued and guessing who is behind it all. I enjoyed how it explored both their vulnerabilities as well as their strengths and determination. Marco is possessive and intense but had a heart of gold and will die to protect his loved ones. It's a mafia romance with dark themes, longing, and high stakes.

🥀 Mafia 🥀 Second Chance 🥀 Forbidden Love 🥀 Rival Families 🥀 Touch her and d13
It’s been 10 years since Marco broke Sloane’s heart and since he last saw her. Now she’s back and he will do everything he can to prove himself to her. To prove he loves her and it’s always been her.
I was hooked from the very beginning; I love the back and forth between past and present. To know from the get go how these two people became so entangled in each other’s lives. This book had me laughing, crying and fully needing to know what was going to happen.
S. Wilson’s writing is outstanding, she fully captured the love and longing between these two people. She wasn’t afraid to jump into the vulnerable side of a Mafia boy, and a girl from a family she’s not fond of standing on her own two feet, not easily swayed and ready to fight for herself.
The relationships between not only 2 people but entire families was breath taking and powerful.
This series has my heart! I just need someone to gift me a portal so i can dive straight into the world where romanos own my heart 🫶🏼 The series is everything a reader could ever ask for and no one, I mean it, absolutely no one can convince me otherwise. Marco is an emotionless person with no emotions but wherever she's concerned? HE IS AN ABSOLUTE SWEETHEART! Sloane is the strongest and one of the most forgiving people I have ever read. Even after knowing Marco broke her heart, she trusts him with her very soul. It was very heart-wrenching to read what she went through and how she overcame everything. (Proud of ya girl!)
The side characters (main characters from other books) and Sloane's brother have very wholesome roles in this book and it is very heartwarming to read about the family moments they create with each other around. And let's not forget Daddy Romano *wink* He is the best! Just read this series, people! It is worth every second you invest!
Tropes- Rival families Second chance Mafia romance Angst Forbidden romance Dual timelines It's always been you
Lie To Me by S. Wilson is an unforgettable, dark mafia romance that immediately became my first five-star read of the year. From start to finish, this book had me laughing, crying, and completely invested in Marco and Sloan's tumultuous second-chance love story. Their chemistry is intense, and their journey from heartbreak to healing is one that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.
Ten years have passed since Marco broke Sloan's heart, and now she's back—both a mystery and a temptation he can't resist. The tension between them is palpable, and the emotional weight they carry from their past is enough to make your heart ache. Marco is fiercely determined to reclaim the woman he lost, but it’s clear their road to redemption is fraught with danger. Sloan's return comes with new threats, making their second chance at love even more precarious.
The writing is sharp, evocative, and filled with heart-stopping moments. One of my favorite quotes encapsulates the intensity of Marco’s feelings for Sloan: “I’ve been waiting ten years for you, Sloan. I wasn’t waiting another second.” It’s a line that speaks to his longing and devotion, and it perfectly mirrors the passion that drives this story.
Another standout quote is Marco’s confession of vulnerability: “Sloan, I’m fucking terrified of you. You single-handedly hold the power to destroy me.” This line showcases just how much emotional power Sloan has over Marco—yet it also highlights the raw authenticity of their connection.
With unforgettable characters, high stakes, and a romance that will make you believe in second chances, Lie To Me is a must-read for fans of dark, emotional romance. S. Wilson has crafted a story that is both thrilling and devastating, and I couldn’t recommend it more.
Ok enzos story was my favourite. Lucas was my least. This sits in the middle.
This story is definitely more focused on past traumas - then at the end focused on present traumas.
The spicey scenes were gag worthy. I skipped most of them & felt like they didn’t correlate to marcos personally. I felt the author was trying to force him to be a ‘gangsta/ mafia man’ through these but he’s the more serious out of the 3 brothers.
The sub plot of the whole thing with the mystery person leaving her notes etc was practically the only mafia relations action we got. I felt slightly disconnected to the mafia trope in this book. There was also stark contrasts to the other two books with certain lines from the main characters even being recycled. Lazy writing. But if you were reading this as a standalone it would be 4 stars probably. Basically all 3 books are based on quiet, lonely, girls who have a fiesty side … the mmc gets hurt … the fmc ends up kidnapped … they end up in hospital … family welcomes with open arms. It was all too similar writing and made it predictable.
The ending was amazing. The twists are the end. Omg. Her being in the coma shocked me. I loved his father speaking to her while she was out of it about marcos love for her and I also loved him welcoming all the girls into his family from day dot.
The epilogue was abit odd. I liked how the main characters chose not to marry and have kids after their shared traumas and felt an understanding to that but I also felt the epilogue didn’t really fit into the story.
I would recommend this book but won’t be reading it again

Absolutely loved this one 😊 this story follows Marco and Sloane. Both from different mafia families Marco being from the Italian mafia and Sloane being from the Irish mafia. The pair first met when they were both young and had to hide their love from the world otherwise a war would break and they would likely both lose people that they loved.
When Sloanes syco father finds out about their relationship he takes matters into his own hands and forces Marco to break not only his heart but also Sloane and when she leaves New York for 10 years Marco is left a shell of himself, promising himself that if he ever saw Sloane again he wouldn't let her go.
Sloane is back in New York and is working at a hospital when her friend begs her to switch patients and she comes face to face with the now man who broke her heart 10 years ago.
Now with the threat that someone is after the FMCs Marco and Sloane getting letters through her door, in her locker and inside her apartment she has no choice but to move in with Marco which considering her apartment building gets blown up it's a good thing she did and when she finds out that Marco never wanted to break her heart 10 years ago because he has loved her the whole time secrets are revealed and that love they once shared is abundantly clear it never died 😊
I loved this story and it was heartfelt at times and the development of the characters with how they might have grown and changed in 10 years but their love for each other is still as strong if not stronger for each other now than it was before, absolutely amazing I'm really sad that I've finished this series
From the moment I started Lie to Me, I was completely hooked. Just like the previous books in the series, this one struck the perfect balance between gripping plot and sizzling chemistry. Sloane’s character was everything, strong, fearless, and impossible not to root for. The dynamic between all the characters kept me thoroughly entertained.
It’s been ten years since Marco shattered Sloane’s heart, and now she’s back. The tension between them is electric, laced with unresolved emotions and unspoken regrets. Marco is desperate to win her back, but their reunion isn’t just complicated, it’s dangerous.
I loved how seamlessly the story wove between past and present, giving us a full picture of their history and deepening the emotional impact of their journey. The flashbacks added so much depth, making their connection feel raw and real. And the glimpses of past couples made everything feel even more immersive. The found family element has been a consistent strength in this series, and it shone through once again.
This book took me on an emotional ride, breaking my heart and slowly putting it back together. Sensitive topics were handled with such care, adding another layer of depth to an already powerful story. S. Wilson has once again delivered a dark, intense, and utterly captivating romance that lingers long after the last page.
I would 100% recommend this series, each are standalones but I would recommend reading in order. Each book is beautifully written, full of unforgettable characters, and packed with all the tension, angst, and passion you could ask for. And now, I need books for Alec and Finn—fingers crossed we get their stories soon!
Tropes Mafia Second Chance Rival Families Jealous & Possessive MMC Slight Stalking Past & Present Forbidden Love Rival Families Touch her and die
Okay wait because I actually read this in a single day...... wow I don't remember the last time I did that but on to the review so I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, i'm not a huge fan of second chance trope (the main trope in this book) but I actually enjoyed and liked the trope in this one, I liked the past and present timelines which I think was crucial, I don't think I would have enjoyed this as much if we didn't have the past time line because it made things more realistic as well as gave us a look at how things were and how they are now with the couple. I liked the plot and the flow of the book but again very average book, I have noticed that the books are very predicable as in they all have the same type of thing happen at the ending which was a bit annoying because I just knew what was gonna happen towards the end, I also noticed in the previous book a few spelling errors or wrong words since it just didn't make sense at some points but I could overlook it but that was a lot more present in this book which made some chapters or parts confusing but overall very average but I had a good time. I really hope Alec and his brothers get a series and I also want finn, Skye and maybe Kian to have books, I will probably pick this author back up again and read more work by them in the future
Tropes:
Second chance Mafia Family rival Secret relationship Past & present timeline
Marco Romano, the middle brother, once fell hard for Sloane, an Irish mobster princess. Thanks to “reasons” (that damn mafia lifestyle…), he broke both their hearts and Sloane left New York. Ten years later Sloane is back and Marco is determined to not let her go for a second time. But she’s got a secret of her own and despite the feelings still between them, she’s not so willing to pick up where they left off.
“He feels like home. He feels like forever.”
Now, Enzo is still my favourite Romano brother, but Marco is giving him a serious run for his money. It’s refreshing to have a male hero who actually stays celibate during their time apart for a change. There is also no unnecessary OW/OM drama, no third-act breakup.
“She’s not just some girl,” I say curtly. “She’s the love of my damn life. She’s everything.”
As with the previous books, the mafia plot is decent, but the real fun lies in the characters and their interactions. That’s why I enjoyed this series so much.
A solid addition to the series and definitely worth the read.
🖤 x mafia romance 🖤 x forbidden love 🖤 x second chances 🖤 x no third act breakup 🖤 x no OW/OM drama
This book was everything and more!! Marco intrigued me the second he was mentioned in the first book and why he is the way he is and I suspected it was a girl and what a girl that was That whole story and the flashbacks and the background was amazing and gave the best insight onto their relationship The horrible stuff that happened and how it all affected them both in the moment and after the truth was revealed They let themselves have time but the Romano men have no patience when it comes to their woman and Marco was no different but he still gave her space where she needed it and I think that was beautiful Izzy is still my favorite but Sloane is up there with her in my rank, Robyn is still the biggest sweetheart, I loooove Marco and basically all the Romano men are amazing in their own way and I want one too
Loved this whole series and the characters, who I learned to love so much!!
And also I’m very curious about Skye and what her story is, there is a whole book there and I hope there is one where her and Finn are the MCs cause there’s a reason for that one scene, where it basically was set up for that
I’m absolutely in love with this series and can’t believe it’s over. I’m so proud of my friend for writing these incredible books! As someone who doesn’t typically read dark romance, I felt safe enough to dive into her stories because of how thoughtfully everything was handled.
Oh. My. Gosh. This book? EVERYTHING.
The mouth on this man??? GOD. And the way he’s so DOWN BAD for her—I’m losing my mind.
Sloane? My heart shattered for her. She’s been through so much, but the way she holds herself together with such strength and grace? She’s a queen, and I can’t stop thinking about her.
This is hands down my favorite book in the series. The depth of emotion, the rawness of their love, and the reason behind why he calls her Little Warrior? Don’t even. My heart can’t take it.
And let’s not forget Daddy Salvatore. HELLO. I’m obsessed. He’s the perfect mix of power, passion, and swoon-worthy devotion.
The complexity of these characters and their journeys is unmatched. This isn’t just a good read—it’s a phenomenal one. My friend has created something so deeply emotional, swoony, and unforgettable. This series will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Marco and Sloane had a past. That past ended in heartbreak. Fast forward 10 years and they have a second chance at love.
I thought I knew who my favorite Romano man was until Marco won me over. He loves hard, notices the little things, hates talking but will talk about anything and nothing with his little warrior Sloane. Don’t even get me started on his filthy mouth😮💨
Sloane had been through so much at the hands of the men in her life. She’s strong, sassy, and takes no sh!t from anyone! She also made Marco wait and work for her attention which I loved🤭
The spicy? HOT🥵 The plot? AMAZING! The epilogue? Literally my favorite🥹 I don’t want to say goodbye to these characters😭 S Wilson I don’t know how you do it but NEVER stop! This is definitely my favorite book of the series🖤
"Baby," he drawls. "The only jewelry you'll ever need is my hand wrapped around your neck and my marks on your skin."
Even though I loved all 3 books, and each one I loved for different reasons, I think they got better each time. If you loved Luca and Enzo, you're definitely going to love Marco. We also got given yet again an amazing FMC, and this storyline was everything between the two MCs. This one definitely takes you on an emotional ride and was heartbreaking at times but written in such a beautiful way. The author once again didn't disappoint, so basically, if you have loved the series so far, you're going to love this! Thank you again for letting me arc read since book one. It's been everything watching you grow as an author 🖤 Can't wait for more future books ✨️💞
Firstly I would to Thank S. Wilson for sending me the ARC of this book!!!
READ TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE STARTING THIS BOOK
As soon as I picked up this book I couldn't put it down. I thought my favourite was going to be Enzo from this whole series but boy I was wrong. This book like the other ones had the perfect amount of spice and plot. I love how badass and powerful Sloane's character was. The banter between all the characters was really good. This book broke my heart and pieced it back together gradually, moreover I loved how well sensitive topics are written in this book. I would a 100% recommend this whole series it was very well written.
I hope we get a book for Alec and Finn I would love to read their stories.
I love how the story between Marco and Sloane their relationship starts as expected as rival mafia family, mostly lacking trust in eachother. But shortly after talking to one another; they see more than just the daughter and son of the family rival, they see the love of their life. Further more I loved how the relationship between felt so healthy. The way Marco thinks about Sloane; and trusts her to make decisions for both of them, to do where she feels most comfortable with. It's really refreshing to read something like that, after reading a lot of books with stereotypical behaviour of what a woman should look, like, love or think.
Thank you so much for the ARC!! Loved this story so so much☆
S.Wilson has delivered once again with this dark mafia romance. This has been my most anticipated read since Marco was first introduced back in Vow to Me, a fan of the dark, strong silent type that I am. My intrigue was piqued as to his story and that intrigue only intensified after reading Run to Me and I am not disappointed at all after reading his story. A must read in my opinion, with a beautifully written second chance romance with plot twists you won't see coming. If there is one thing S.Wilson does effortlessly, it's writing amazing FMCs who are strong and independent and complement the MMC perfectly.
Oh, how I am obsessed with this series! I've been anxiously waiting for Marco's book and I absolutely loved it!
This follows Sloane and Marco and their emotional, second chance romance that definitely breaks your heart before putting it back together. 10 years have gone by since Marco broke Sloane's heart, but now that she's back he is never letting her go again. Sloane has been through SO MUCH and my heart broke for her. She was so strong and resilient. Marco was also a wonderful mmc! He was so patient and loving with Sloane. I loved how he gave her the space she needed to work through everything while also never giving up hope that they would be together.
This book is a must read for all mafia lovers! I can't wait for more books from this author in the future!!
I always thought the suffering, broody MMC wasn't my type, but Marco has proven me wrong! Much as I love Enzo and all of his crazy, I think this is my favorite book in the series.
Marco and Sloane are so good together and complement each other perfectly. Wilson did such a good job with the second chance trope here and managed to create tension and drama between alternating past/present chapters.
The story was interesting and kept me engaged the entire time and there was a twist that I didn't see coming, but it was a great addition to the story.
Sloane's past contains serious heartbreak, and while I can't relate to this, I thought Wilson handled it very well.
Please check triggers for this book (and series), and if they're ok with you, I definitely recommend them!
OMG!😭😍 This book was soo good. i laughed, and i cried. my heart broke and it was put back together. This book was everything. I didn’t wanted it to end.
I was waiting for this book because i was very interested in Marco story and i was not disappointed. He is my FAVORITE now. i love him so much. I’m so happy that we finally got to know him more and Sloane is just amazing. I loved her so much. Yes she was stubborn as fuck, but so brave and so strong. They are so perfect together.
I loved the spice and the plot was amazing. I just want more😭
Thank you so much for the Arc💞💞💞

I was beyond thrilled to dive into Lie to Me after finishing the previous two parts, and it did not disappoint! Marco Romano stole my heart with his broody, possessive, yet sweet nature, while Sloane's strength and independence made her such a captivating character. Their fiery chemistry, emotional depth, and the dynamic Romano family had me hooked from start to finish. The twists, the trauma, and the swoon-worthy moments made this book an unforgettable ride. If you love intense, well-written romances, this one’s a must-read!
I’ve been so excited for this one. I was up bright and early (3am) just to dig in. Marco and Sloane were perfect for each other and I hate what they had to go through to get their HEA. I loved seeing what Salvatore has done behind the scenes for years to make sure his boys were happy. Finn and his role in protecting his sister was just as impressive. Their twin bond really stood the test of time. Of course Enzo still has my heart. He was so attentive with Robyn. Getting to see 12 year old Enzo was adorable.
I've been waiting for Marco's book ever since we met him in book one. This book did not disappoint. It is absolutely heartbreaking yet an incredibly beautiful read. Don't get me wrong, it's dark, there's torture, there's death, there's everything you want in a mafia romance, but my God these two love and they love HARD! It was the perfect ending to these three brothers.
Now I desperately need Alec's book...desperately!!! He needs to catch some of the love pandemic! 🤣
Thank you @authorswilson for trusting me with your ARC, it was a privilege to read.
