Raccoon besties, Hunger and Stripe, land on competing soccer teams. Oboy!

Can their friendship survive it?

This book is recommended for picture book readers who can understand emotional nuance. For example, this passage:

Being mad at Stripe only made Hunter want to beat the Sharks [Stripe's team] more.
But he also was embarrassed that he hoped Stripe would mess up.
He picked at his breakfast.

FIVE STARS. Everybody wins!

A fun little story about good sportsmanship and maintaining friendships - with bonus examples of bad sportsmanship by parents!

Illustrations are pretty standard.

A cute story of competition between friends. It was a good way to explain and then follow up with a conversation on how sports are for fun and exercise not for winning only.

Descriptive vocabulary. Competition challenges two raccoon friends. Colorful, animated illustrations. Good message.
