This monster is ready to have fun with you! Can you count the yo-yos covered in goo? Numbers from 1 to 20 this monster will share. Join him and learn counting, if you dare!
I picked this book up because I thought that my kids would enjoy it. They are in the target age group and they both like monsters.
The counting is fun, and the illustrations are entertaining. I wish that some of the objects used for counting were more monster related. Some of the pages have things like bug cookies and slime covered yo-yos. But other pages have some not so monsterly items that are less fun to count.
The illustrations are super cute for the most part. They are computer generated and have bright colors to entertain and engage children. As an artist, I did notice some details that were overlooked. They were all little things, but they still irked me. However, I did appreciate the use of bright flat color and simple shapes.
Little Monster knows plenty about numbers and he wants to show us how much he knows. This is a charming learning book for our kids to learn to count. Basically he uses things from his daily life to practice numbers. That way, kids can understand easily. For example, he takes a bath and counts rubber ducks.
The illustrations are cute and I love that they use brilliant colors to attract children's attention and keep it for a longer time. This children's book uses big numbers and letters, therefore it is easier for kids to read. The character is unusual and interesting.
I recommend this book as a learning tool for little kiddies up to kindergarten.
Great little book for pre-schoolers. The colors are vivid and the book is very engaging. Monster Knows Numbers is a book to read with a pre-schooler weather or not in school yet. Awesome book for your little one to begin even before starting school. Interesting book for either boy or girl. I shared this book with my four year old goddaughter who actually wanted to read it on her own. My nephew also enjoyed the book, although not in school yet. Monster Knoes Numbers got him counting properly. He, too, loved the monster and is continuously asking to count with Monster. This book comes highly suggested. Pick it up and start counting with your little one!

Monsters Know Numbers? What? I thought there was no such thing as MONSTERS!
I must be mistaken, but that’s okay because in Monster Knows Numbers, we meet a friendly green monster with with a very messy room who chooses odd things to play with like, prickly bears and slimy frogs just to name a couple.
Talk about appropriate use of color! Illustrator, Chip Wass, made sure this book was vibrantly illustrated. It will defiantly keep any child’s attention as they learn to count from 1-10.
I read this book for my concept book. It goes over numbers 1-20 by making the monster count silly colorful items throughout the book. Reading level is prekindergarten to kindergarten. This can be used to learn numbers but the colors are so bright, it can be used when identifying colors and shapes as well. This book has no content concerns. The monster is fun and not scary. This is a fun one for early childhood.
The bright and vivid colors will surely catch kids eyes and what kid doesn't love monsters?! Simple and easy to read text geared towards children birth to toddlers. However, there are so many number and monster books available that it's neither unique in concept nor does it really seem to stand out from the crowd.
This was a fun book to read to my kids. They loved it (six years old and five years old).
Each picture, we counted the objects afterwards together. Also, the objects we counted were icky so it made the drawings even more interesting to my kids.
Love the illustrations which were bright and cheerful, but I would have liked the words to rhmye a little more. Kids like rhymes which make them laugh. Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to review this book.
Monster counts all sorts of messy and icky things he finds in his bedroom. There is not really a story here, but it is a cute concept book for toddlers. The large pictures are bright and colorful. If you are looking for a frightening monster, this cute and adorable little creature isn't for you.
Poor Monster has broken or messy items he finds while cleaning his room. However, everything is just right for Monster. Great pictures and objects to explore numbers one to twenty while hearing rhymes. Fun, Fun, fun!
4 Stars Number books that count 1-10 are a dime a dozen, but that doesn’t mean this one isn’t worth it. The concepts are simple, but I love the colorful illustrations.
I'm not really sure how to rate this. The copy of the book I have is missing the first page and has duplicates of what must be page 2. The rhyming is thrown off as it's missing the first part. The rest of the book is fun with the rhyming text and an adorable monster. I really like how the number graphic mimics the illustrations on each page.
