this was a fun sexy little sapphic read. honestly, i was v amused by the idea of remy stealing her brother's gf, but i also like how in the end everything works out ok and there's a lot of familial love present in the story.
do i think it's a bit of instalust/love and some unrealistic moments? sure but who cares it was fun!
i do wish there was more closure and punishment on faun's bullies, but overall this was a nice light read.
I was excited to read this dark romance about two gaming nerds. The story idea caught my attention right away.
Remy and Fauna were easy to like, even though they were very different. One was dark, while the other was all pink. Their connection was strong from the beginning. But their love story was not typical because Fauna cheats, which I usually don’t like, even in fiction. Although as the story continued, it started to feel 'okayish.'
The darker parts of the story were handled well, though some scenes were sad to read. My only complaint is the overuse of a pet name. Hearing "princess" 20 times in one chapter became annoying.
The best part of the book was Remy’s music band and Trevor for being extra supportive. It was heartwarming to see Fauna find a family with them.
Overall, this was a good book. But please, if you want to try it, check all the TW's first. Nothing is described in too much detail, but it’s still important to know.
This actually melted my heart. The plot was dumb AF but it was lesbian AF so I didn’t care. Fauna and Remy were the cutest, opposites attract, black cat and golden retriever couple ever. I really enjoyed this becasye of the way their love was written. Also the author being a queer woman is beautiful and you can definitely tell by how the book and the love between the characters is described, written and most importantly shown. I love being a lez-bien and reading lez-bien romance books. I 100% recommend. Just don’t pay a lot of attention to the conflict of the book and it’ll be ok. Toodles!
This book was so fun & sexy as hell!! I absolutely adored Fauna & Remy and the fact that these two were ridiculously hot together made it that much better!
What happens when you meet your twin brother’s girlfriend & realize she’s the absolute perfect girl for you??? Read this one to find out 🫦😉
my marceline the vampire queen and princess bubblegum loving, old closeted teenage self is healed. this was forbiddenly comforting and now more than ever i want a girlfriend.
3.5 Just because it had me invested and I haven't seen much of the videogame idea. I don't know how to feel about this. The characters are okay, and it was a fast read even though it felt super slow at the end. How can a short book make me feel some parts are not needed? I won't make a big deal about missing or fast things because of the same, it was a short book. I didn't love the cheating part, I was hopping that at least the brother would break up with Fauna before Remy got with her but guess not, and the fact that they both messed up, messed me up, and Remy pretending to be Trevor and cyberfuking Fauna messed me up even more. Now Remy's parents, her mom it's so careless it's annoying and I don't get most of the actions of her dad.
Not a lot of quotes as usual, I just marked lesbians being lesbians so this is the only "decent" quote, and is not even decent.
"This was all really unethical, I guessed, but how could something so bad feel so good?"

“Despite her affinity for black, Remy was color personified”
I loved this I loved this I LOVED THIS! I can’t even describe to you how good this is. I’m not a gamer, but you don’t need to be to understand this book and I had such a fun time. The book is very fast paced but the pacing of the relationship was perfect because even though it was technically “insta love”, it didn’t feel like it at all with how forbidden the romance was and how much tension there is between Remy and Fauna.
I loved our fmcs so much. They are the epitome of opposites attract and it works so so well. Remy is so so so hot as our possessive tattooed goth drummer but Fauna is my dream version of myself - the bubblegum pastel dyed hair princess - and is also my dream girl and if that’s not sapphic af i don’t know what is.
I love our found family in this book, I love all of the beautiful representation, I love our kittens, I truly loved everything about this book- it was silly, sweet, spicy, and brought awareness to a type of assault that is unfortunately very common and should be addressed more. I’m just never not impressed by Kat Blackthorne and everyone should read this if you want a fun wuh luh wuh time
Thank you so much to the author for allowing me to have an arc 🖤💖
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶🌶 I devoured this book in one day and fell in love with Remy and Fauna. Their love story lives in my soul forever now! This book is definitely on my read again list, and I'll be buying a trophy book for my bookshelf. It's pretty much a feel-good sapphic rom-com, but there are some dark parts. Happy Reading.
I started this late at night.... and couldn't put it down until I finished! Did I lose sleep before a workshift? Yes. Was it worth it? HELL YES. 🖤❤️🖤
I was a fly on the wall of the nerdy Sapphic love story of Fauna and Remy and couldn't have asked for more. Kat Blackthorne has done it again. Another perfect story that will pull at your heart strings while having a delicious amount of spice. Having the adorable additions of Turnip, Pinecone, Waffles, and all their shenanigans was great comedic relief throughout.I truly felt seen with all the references to things I love in the nerdy girl gaming world.
This will definitely be one I re-read, and starts off my 2025 reads with a banger of a 5⭐️ read. I was lucky to be chosen to read this as an ARC and give my honest review.
3/5🌶️ •sapphic •found family •gamers •opposites attract •brothers girlfriend •insta love
“Player one found her player two”
Remy and Fauna are the epitome of opposites attract. they were so perfect together. Remy was hot. she’s a possessive, tattooed goth drummer who’s so down bad for miss bubblegum pastel dyed hair princess, Fauna. they brought out such different sides in eachother that i loved to see. this book was a fun, spicy and a quick read. i enjoyed it, i just wanted more character debt. i feel we didn’t know much about the characters at all.
fav quotes💕🖤🎮🎀🐈
“Better people with morals and ethics would have probably felt guilty after tongue-fucking the blue slushy underwear of their twin’s girlfriend in an empty movie theater on a double date. Let the record show, I wasn’t one of those better people with morals. It only made me want her more.”
“Use your words, princess.”
“She was the game now, I was the player, and I’d be damned if I didn’t complete this mission and win everything she had to offer.”
“I don’t want anyone touching you but me”
“You’re really, really cute when you try to resist me, princess. But it’s just a fact that you’re stuck with me.”
“I know you cyber-fucked me with your brother’s avatar.” ^^cause i laughed
“It is now my personally-appointed side-quest to remind you every single day of how fucking gorgeous you are, princess.”
5/5. Highlights may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.

You ever love a book so much that after you finish reading it in KU you buy a copy? That was sWitch for me.
Remy and Fauna — such a cute couple! Opposites attract, size difference, so utterly in love. A little drama and angst, and a happy ending. What else could you want in a book?
Honestly, I won’t pretend I didn’t have like a good five minute cry of relating to Fauna so much. While it’s not necessarily the focus of the narrative, her neurodivergence was so relatable. It’s the small things that authors capture that are so important in representation and being seen — my room is practically a shrine to all my abandoned hobbies I still love but haven’t returned to. The importance of comfort items and the fear most of all of showing sides to yourself others might view as too childish (or in my case, ‘incorrectly’ performing my gender) to someone who you want to trust and to love. Maybe it was because it was 1am when I was reading this book but genuinely it hit me right in the feelings.
I also really liked the casual openness around sex and Remy being a stone top. Queerness and queer desire can look different in many ways, and seeing that sort of representation is a good thing. Also, while I can see people might complain scissoring isn’t “realistic”, just as it’s written here — it’s not about the focus of it even in a fetish way. It’s a form of intimacy for these two characters, and just one way they achieve it within the book.
It’s funny, it’s dark, it’s sexy and I love Remy and Fauna both. I loved the casualness of queer characters around them and their own personal experiences, such as Lennon who is non-verbal.
Blackthorne is also a very good writer, in my opinion! The POVs were distinct from one another, the explicit scenes well written, and I could feel the chemistry between the two characters. I don’t usually like “rom-coms” because it’s not my type of humor, but this one was genuinely funny.
Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a fun, spicy sapphic read with some edge!
This was such a fun read. The book focuses on gaming and RPG which is different than my normal reads.
Remy’s plan is to steal her twin brother’s girlfriend. At first I felt like “ugh cheating is not my thing, I’ll pass” but I decided to give it a chance. I’m so glad I did because the story was so entertaining. I loved it. I would consider this a “insta love forbidden romance “ It’s funny, slightly dark and soo soo hot! Fauna and Remy’s chemistry was 🔥🔥 The side characters were also enjoyable. Highly recommend for all dark sapphic lovers. ❗️There are some trigger warnings which are mentioned at the beginning of the book❗️
“sWitch” by Kat Blackthorne is a sapphic rom-com that will leave you blushing and begging for more.
Remy, our tatted, goth, drummer dom, oozes BDE (Big Drummer Energy), while Fauna, the bubblegum princess femme, is so sweet she might give you cavities. Their chemistry is instant “Why is it so hot in here?” level steamy—seriously, their first encounter will make you fan yourself.
Sure, I side-eyed Remy at first for going after her twin brother’s girlfriend (yikes), but Kat Blackthorne works her magic, and it all turns out deliciously messy in the best way. By the end, it’s a happy ending for everyone (and not the awkward kind).
This book will have you smiling one minute and clenching your thighs the next. Go ahead, pick it up—you know you want to.
Favorite quote: “You are everything I want, Fauna. Everything I never let myself think I could have.” Swoon!

I've read and loved every book on Kat Blackthorne's backlist & Switch was no exception!
I had the most fun while reading this book & loved it so much! Fauna's character is your typical cottagecore bubblegum gamer girl & Remy is a typical "bad girl without attachments" until Fauna. They couldn't be more opposite yet perfect for each other. The first spicy scene where Remy pretends to be her twin brother to get virtually spicy with Fauna and the after-hours arcade scene will definitely live in my head rent free for a long time. Even though it was spicy with a variety of forbidden and taboo scenes, there was still a lot of emotions going on for all of our main characters. Even though it was such a short book, I loved these characters and their growth so much. I highly recommend!
I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Loved their dynamics and found family aspect. Loved the story. It’s definitely a cute love story with a masc/fem duo. Both are gamers, which plays a significant role in the book. Remy is a drummer in a band. There’s an antagonist in the book that plays against Fauna. There are a few different moving parts of this book and really did enjoy it.
I do wish there was a little less emphasis on the whole “brother’s girlfriend” thing. Like after it’s mentioned a few times, we definitely get it. But I found myself being pulled out of the story because of how many mentions of it there were. BUT overall, again, I really did enjoy this and will absolutely recommend others read it. 🖤
This is your vibe if you like Gamers Hot tattooed mascs Sweet cute bubblegum femmes Hot drummers
This book is a vibe! I binged it from start to finish. I was hooked from Level 1!
Remy is the badass masc we all want, don’t try and tell me you don’t. She’s a badass. Fauna is the sweet femme and Remy’s twins girlfriend. This isn’t your typical rom com though. Seriously this book is everything I love. Witty and sassy with a dash of sinful. I very much need more vibes like this.
If you’re looking for your next sapphic read, this is it!
"You know, I knew you were mine the moment I saw you, the moment I heard your voice. Fauna, you're it. You're all that matters to me. You're my home. Be my player two for life?"
I received this book as an ARC. Remy and Fauna's story was perfectly them. I hate what Fauna had to go through, but I'm so glad she had Remy and Trevor in her corner, then the Mall Ratz. They showed Prue what true friendship is supposed to look like. This book hit very close to home for me, I used to have a friend's like that. They didn't go the exact route Prue did, but they bullied me. So it took me, meeting the right person to be able to be the person I am today and no longer having those people in my life. But I just love how this book spoke to me personally and will speak to a lot of people!
This was okay, a bit disappointing overall. It didn't feel like a dark romance and the taboo nature of "stealing my brother's girlfriend" really wasn't a thing with the "plot" twist. Honestly might have liked it more if the marketing for it was for this dark rom com with this huge "taboo" element. It felt more like a family drama story for the second half, and a weird revenge sob story for the first half.
