A formal vampire reception is just that- formal. There are rules. There are expectations. There are certain security measures that must be taken.
The list of things that should not occur includes, but is not limited duels for subjugation, bar brawls, and accidental, er, unintentional, well, not-meant-to-happen-at-that-moment demon calling.
Drinking from other master vampires, turning new vampires without permission, and reliving your first kiss, which happened to be with a serial killer are absolutely inappropriate.
Having your demon-vampire-husband-master end up with an incurable case of vamnesia adds another level of complexity to the festivities, not to mention your marriage.
But Eva Prim has caused...experienced…survived, yes, that's the word. Eva and Stefan have survived other difficult challenges and she's confident they'll laugh about this some night. She thinks. Maybe.
Jordan loves vampires. But if you know anything about Jordan, you already knew that detail. What you didn’t know was it wasn’t long ago that she began writing about them.
A few years back Jordan received a copy of Twilight from her husband as part of her anniversary gift. By the end of that week she’d read the entire series and moved onto Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. Eight weeks and eighteen vampire books later the idea for her first book, Perpetual Light came to her followed very quickly by Eva Prim.
In April of 2014 Prim & Proper, the second Eva Prim Novel released. Also available are The Demon Mistress, the first Eva Prim Novel along with four short stories. For continual updates on Eva please join the Snack Of The Week Club at www.evaprim.com.
In August of 2014 Jordan released the first novella in the Romance In Central City Series, Her Vampire’s Promise. Novella two, The Vampire’s Partner follows in September and A Vampire’s Passion is the October Release. Novella four, His Vampire Past is set for a November release.
Jordan is a member of the national Romance Writers of America organization and several chapters.
When she’s not writing about one vampire or another Jordan enjoys spending time with her husband, Ken and their lovable Labrador, Dino on the beautiful beaches of New England.
Although I have not read the first book in this series this felt like a second book. There were underlying things that I felt like I was missing.
That being said I thoroughly enjoyed this! Yes, I feel like book one would have given me more insight to the varying relationships (there are a lot of people in this!) but for the most part I was able to go with the flow and was able to enjoy this.
I truly like the main characters, Prim & Proper. Prim is crazy! She gets herself into some mischief like you would not believe. This entire book is based on that mischief! The entire book!! When I’m not loving and laughing at her antics, I want to strangle her because of them! The only thing I didn’t quite feel was fully expressed was the relationship with her hubby. She seems to love him but is also scared of him. I didn’t fully understand until closer to the end. Again, reading book one may help with this as well.
Then we have Proper. She is a mess!!! I mean a real MESS. Something about her just makes me love her though. She tries way too hard to get people to like her and because of that she winds up overdoing nearly everything. It’s just crazy. Hilarious but crazy.
Perhaps you have to read the first book in order to really love the second. (So, ah, I jut bought the first one for my Kindle.)
Because without that first book, the so-called romance between the main character and her husband looks a lot more like she's just resigned to his domestic abuse... up until closer to the end where she suddenly loves him with her whole being, and I was left thinking, "Why? You finally got rid of this nincompoop!"
Also confusing: why we're supposed to like Proper. See, Prim is a fun vampire who blogs a lot and is sooooo very relatable. Proper, OTOH, bursts into whiny tears over nothing and waxes between teary and holier-than-thou. What does Prim see in this woman?
All the same, I enjoyed the premise (and Prim!), so I'm going to read the first book in the series and see what difference that makes.
Chrysanthemum aka Eva Prim is at it again!! This time during a formal vampire reception Eva and her new friend Penelope get into all sorts of trouble! Jordan K Rose is an amazing author who pulls you into the exciting world of vampires and keeps you entertained throughout the whole book. Can’t wait for the next book in the Eva Prim series!!
Another adventure with Eva and as always things aren't going well. Challenged to a duel on her blog Eva ends up spending her new year rushing from crisis to crisis. Being introduced to her husband's best friend Tarek and his strange wife Penelope Proper only adds to her woes. Laugh out loud vampire antics.
I think this is a wonderful read. It is the second book in a series. Eva Prim is the first. It is about a young vampire who is the mistress to a powerful master of a sect. She also comes into her on powers But does not know how to use them which gets her in a whole lot of trouble. To the point of life threatening actions. She has to choose between loosing her sanity of her husband.
Wow!! What a fun book to read. I am going right into the next book right now. Can hardly wait to see what Eva's mind thanks of next or how she drives her husband crazy. Great Read Recommend to everyone.
