A great Romantic Suspense that keeps you flying though the pages. This is my first time reading this author. It was definitely one of those stories that will keep me coming back for more.

Wraith did something that haunts her nightmares. She left her team to start a new life but the past is catching up with her.

Grady knows that Sandra is not exactly what she is trying to portray. He’s attracted to her anyway.

“So those gazes she throws you when you’re turned the other way don’t mean anything?”

“Yeah. But you also watch her when she’s not looking, and the employees watch you both.

Jump right in if your a fan of suspenseful adventure.

My Review:
This book was everything I love about romantic suspense.

The book starts with Wraith, the sniper part of the Delta Team, a private black-ops unit running a mission to shut down a human trafficking ring in Mexico. As the mission fell apart, Wraith had one last shot at taking down one of the leaders. She took it and at the last moment, a young girl moved into the path of the shot. Wraith can't get past the fact that she killed a fourteen year old girl and sets up a plan to "die" since she knows she can no longer do her job for her team because there is no quitting the teams.

Then the real story picks up several months later with Sandra (former Wraith) who now works in a huge family entertainment center owned by Casper Grady, a former Marine. Sandra has done everything she can to hide her former identity and stay hidden, but she realizes that it's time to move on. She really doesn't want to though...she's gotten attached to Grady, who has no idea what she really is. When she realizes that she's waited too long, Grady refuses to let her go...but again, he has no idea what he's getting into.

I love the push and pull between Grady and Sandra. She knows they are a bad idea, but he refuses to let her be put in danger. Even after he knows that there's no hope for them, he still can't stop his emotions and instinctual need to protect what's "his." Then there's Sandra, who couldn't stand to leave him. My heart hurts for the pain she's suffered at the loss of her team, the thought of the loss of Grady, the loss of her purpose. I can't imagine that guilt especially on top of being alone and at odds with everything else just trying to stay alive, but the author did an AMAZING job of showing her emotional turmoil.

And I liked Grady's back-story too and his whole reason for why he wants to offer kids a safe haven...they are both such fabulous characters and so hot and sexy together. That first sex scene between them...whoa, talk about sexy. I loved it!!

Everything about this book is good. I love Delta team and how they descend on Wraith when they find out she isn't dead. She's one of their own. Even though she deceived them and let them think that she died, they fully plan to help and protect her. But I will admit, Talon broke my heart. His obvious feelings for Wraith made my heart hurt, especially knowing that she never realized or returned his feelings. But showing just what a good guy he is...what he does at the barn...I love him even more. I know his story isn't next, but I'm hoping it's soon. I need this guy to have his own HEA.

I'm definitely looking forward to more of this series and from this author. A great first novel in the series. This romantic suspense loving girl highly recommends this one!

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

3 - It's got potential Stars.

Exchange of Fire is very much what I would call a series opener book. It highlights definite potential in forthcoming books, and shows that P.A. DePaul, knows how to put together a well crafted and fully fleshed out story.

I liked Sandra and Grady together; the verbal sparring as well as the physical sparring was great. This was very much action in the foreground, romance in the background for most of the book, but it worked for me. Sandra’s circumstances and the situation she and Grady were in, was very much a fight for survival, and not a lets boff like bunnies and have a few fist-fights along the way.

There is a lot going on in this book with a whole slew of characters rolling though the pages, at points I did have to go back to re-read a few paragraphs just so I could get straight who was who, and who had actually said what. Going forward as more books are added I think this could become a pretty stellar series.

I am all for a good action, romantic suspense novel, and the first book in the SBG series tick’s the boxes really well in that aspect. A great start, I look forward too seeing where the next book takes us.

Exchange of Fire is the first book in the SBG series by P.A. DePaul. SBG stands for Sweet Briar Group and is the front for an organization of black op mercenaries. This group has contracts with the US Military and operates without all the red tape that hampers the government. Unfortunately under the direction of the new CEO, appointed five years prior, the rate of operative deaths has increased, spawning whispers that no operative leaves Sweet Briar Group alive.

When an op goes horribly wrong and leaves an innocent dead, Wraith (aka Sandra) can’t cope under the guilt. She no longer had faith in herself and when you’re a sniper that isn’t a good thing. She does what she thinks she has to do to keep her team safe and leaves. What she didn’t understand was that she should have gone to her team for help. What she did what a betrayal in the deepest sense and they were understandable upset.

Anyway, Wraith living as Sandra finds herself working for Grady at the Gradwick Adventure Center in Ridge Creek, North Carolina. She finds a measure of peace, though she is still desperately haunted by the events that led her to North Carolina. She also finds herself attracted and drawn to her boss, Grady. Grady in turn is drawn to her and has been spending the past few months falling for her from a distance. He senses that she is tightly drawn, as if she’s ready to flee at a moment’s notice. Which is closer to the truth then he realizes. When the past catches up to Sandra she makes her move to run, however Grady won’t let her go it alone. Thus begins a chaotic run for their lives and the spilling over of their long held desire for each other.

I liked Exchange of Fire. However I wanted Talon for Sandra instead of Grady. Grady wasn’t a bad hero but I hated the way he went off on Sandra when he found out the truth. He twisted everything she said against her and acted like she was some horrible, evil, selfish person. I felt that Grady was way out of line with his holier than thou attitude. I didn’t see her keeping Grady in the dark as a betrayal at all. After all, up until that night when everything went to hell and they get together they had no relationship beyond boss and employee. Sure there were feelings on both sides but they had not acting on those feelings prior to that.

I really liked the other members of Sandra’s team, in some ways more than the main characters actually. Poor Talon, my heart broke for him and I really wanted him to be the one to get the girl. But alas it just wasn’t meant to be. I can only hope that he can find another to love even more in a future story. I really liked the chemistry between Magician and Romeo and hope to see them get a story as well. Cappy’s story is next and after reading the sample I find myself eager to read his book.

Exchange of Fire is a fast paced story that held my attention. There is plenty of action, danger and romance. The cast of side characters were unique and intriguing. I liked the basis of the overall plot and look forward to reading about the teams more in future books. Overall Exchange of Fire is well done and I would recommend it to fans of romantic suspense.

This is the first book in the SBG Series by P.A. DePaul and I found it an exciting story that was deeply engaging and it managed to captivate me very quickly. The Author has a true gift for storytelling that draws you right into the heart of the story. The writing is sharp, lush, vividly descriptive, well-plotted and is filled with engaging twists and turns. There is lots of action, drama and suspense and the emotions of the characters were highly intense.
Wraith/Sandra has had her share of emotional turmoil and the only way she can cope is to start over again after a terrible accident on a mission gone wrong. She goes on the run and becomes a rouge. While on the run, she manages to land a job at an adventure centre and meets Casper Grady. What is not to love about Grady, he is a very, very sexy and hard bodied Ex-Marine, who owns and runs the adventure centre. His need to help people and protect them put him right in the middle of a war when he decides to chase the elusive and haunted Sandra when she flees from the centre. That’s when the story gets really interesting between them. The sexual tension between these two is scorching hot and the scenes between them could light the pages on fire. They both have demons they are facing but Sandra’s are fresh and Grady has no idea what he is getting himself into when he makes the decision to chase her down.

I also absolutely got caught up in the secondary characters as well. I fell in love a little with all of them from the moment they were introduced. This sets up other books in this series and I can’t wait to read about each character’s story, I am truly hooked!

I would definitely recommend this book and if you love sexy hot romance with a lot of action, then this is a book you should definitely read. There was violence in the story so this book is not all butterflies and roses. It was well written, the plot was well thought out and as a reader I kept turning the pages to see what happened next. To be honest, this book kept me up until 4:00 AM because I just couldn’t put it down. I really hope that I don’t have to wait too long for the next book in this series to come out because I don’t think I can!

To keep her team safe, Sandra Walsh becomes a Shade, a agent declared dead but secretly hiding among the living where she meets Casper Grady an ex marine with a troubled past, but when danger finds them they will be forced to choose between each other and the people they’ve sworn to protect in this thrilling contemporary romance.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of action, drama, suspense and romance. The author brings the story the story to life with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination and the well orchestrated suspense and drama draw the reader deeper into the story. The action scenes are exciting and believable and the strong compelling characters grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning and ensure that readers keep turning page after page.

The attraction between Grady and Sandra burns hot, but Sandra has a secret and she must fight her growing attraction. When they finally come together their passion explodes with blazing hot sex scenes that scorch the reader’s imagination, but the relationship is turbulent and full of emotional drama that the reader can’t help but get caught up in. The reader can’t help but understand Sandra’ motivations for faking her death and why she feels that she must handle everything alone and the emotional drama between her and Grady and between her and her teammates add lots of depth and spice to the story.

The author has created a thrill a minute action filled story with some intriguing twists and captivating characters and spine tingling tension keeps readers on the edge as the danger escalates. I couldn’t put this book down once I started reading it and I can’t wait to read the next SBG story.

On the shoulders of Maya Banks and Julie Ann Walker, this Elite Special Ops series will keep you on your toes. Grady is just a retired marine who owns his own successful business providing family entertainment and a safe place for children to play. Sandy has invaded his world. No other way to say it. She was exactly what he was looking for in a new hire, eerily so. The way she jumped right in with his staff made the addition seamless. He is beginning to think Sandy is exactly what he needs away from the office.

Wraith was looking to escape her old life as a sniper for Sweet Briar Group. As Sandy she found salvation. Will she be able to overcome her past and keep this new hope?

Enter Team Delta - with a vengeance. In the spirit of a great big family they have very little regard for personal boundaries. Whether from love, affection, or respect, each member finds an opportunity to add their unwanted two cents. Every member proves that they will take no prisoners in the battle to save each other and the team’s future.

I am interested in continuing the series to see where it will go from here.

Sandra (Wraith) worked for a civilian military contractor until the op she couldn't recover from. No one has left the organization and lived, so she fakes her death and lives undercover working at an arcade. Her boss, Grady, is an ex-marine. When it becomes clear Sandra is in danger, he is determined to save her, even if his help is not wanted. Sandra's old team learns she is alive and comes to help too. Thus, they all have shoot-to-kill orders out for them.
A solid start to a new series. It will be great to learn more about each of the other team members.
The reader doesn't get to see Sandra and Grady initial romantic tension, that happens before the book starts. That allows the relationship to become physical quickly. It also made it a little harder to connect with them as a couple. If we had that background it might have been more astonishing when .

Over grown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious to liberty, and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to republican liberty. - George Washington

Many military officials reportedly (also) expressed concerns that the security contractors were trigger-happy and “out-of-control cowboys who alienated the same Iraqis the military is trying to cultivate.” Defense Secretary Gates said that the contractors were at “cross purposes” with the military goals, and he suggested they be put under his authority. exchangeI first found Exchange of Fire on Reading In Pajamas and was intrigued. I love a “Kick Butt and Take Names” heroine, and Wraith definitively qualifies. A sharpshooting badass with a steady hand and a sharp eye, Wraith is part of a four-man (well, two men and two women, but you get the idea) with a super-secret, blackest-of-the-black private . . . well, corporation doesn’t really describe it. More like “If you even think that you know anything about the possibility of this group even existing, they will never find your body” sort of thing. Anyway! Nasty, nasty with razorblades on top.

But don’t think that this is all a bad deal. When the US government needs the really nasty, vicious, “how can they call these creatures humans” taken care of, they call SBG. And SBG gets it done. So, when they needed a cartel taken out that specialized in sex trafficking of young girls, Wraith, Magician, Talon and Romeo, and their leader, Cappy, are sent to Mexico to take care of the problem. However, after six months of chasing the cartel members, and losing young girls to short, horrific experiences, something had to be done. And what happened damaged Magician almost beyond salvaging – but it destroyed Wraith.

Six months later, the story picks up with Wraith living in a ‘bolt hole’ in the Carolinas, working for Grady, an ex-Marine who now runs a games center, full to bursting with go-cart tracks, a monster arcade room, paintball arena, and all the other wonderful, safe, fun goodies that kids and teenagers swoon over. They both have their damaged pasts to overcome, but Wraith’s makes Grady’s look like child’s play. But they are going to have to work together, because the monsters are coming – and they are out for blood.

The story was excellent. Fast action, two strong, capable women with guns and knives and scars pushed all my “Yeah, Baby!!!” buttons. When Magician, Talon, Romeo and Cappy come back on the scene, it is with a level of heart that was real and touching, with a dose of kicking Wraith’s ass, which she certainly deserved. They all have to pull together to get the bad guys. And the bad guys aren’t all on the other side – there is plenty of political backstabbing (with real knives).

DePaul does an exceptional job of weaving the problems of the American tendency towards uncontrolled, private black-ops corporations into the story in a brilliantly realistic manner. Some people will do anything for power, and absolute power, with absolutely no oversight and lots and lots of guns and ammo is more dangerous than we care to admit. The other thing that was handled with a deft touch was PTSD and how it affects the strongest, steadiest soldiers. There is only so much that any human being can handle, no matter how intensive their training.

The only drawback for me, honestly, was Grady. For an ex-Marine, I found him to be, well, let’s just say he lacked sac. My Marine adoptive father would have kicked his backside from here to California. “Geeze, would you like a little cheese with that whine? You would think he went over to the sandbox and played with little pink unicorns and fairies in tutus . . . Just sayin’. Other than wimpy boy, everything else about the book was rock solid, but Mr. Crybaby Pants dropped it a half-star for me. Pfft. I liked Talon lots better! ;-)

I received a copy directly from Ms. Depaul in return for a realistic review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Delight
A new series to love! Men and women doing covert operations and becoming a cohesive unit, while also being a family. But when one member makes a mistake, she takes a way out that devastates the team. The hero and heroine gave me fits between passion and being irritated with them. What a romping good time!

Exchange of Fire opens a new series by P.A. DePaul, both a new author and series to me! I love getting in early instead of having to catch up on a series.

We open up this bad boy with the Delta group within Sweet Briar Group (SBG) on a mission. Meet Cappy, Romeo, Talon, Wraith, Magician and a slew more that are in other groups. We meet the group as they are finalizing a mission to bring down a group of bad guys in which Magician became a willing victim to so she could infiltrate them. When the operation goes down, Wraith, a sniper, goes sideways and does her own thing only to result in a death of an innocent on her conscience.  Unable to deal with what she has done, Wraith fakes her own death, becoming a Shade. Now she is Sandra with a new life managing an entertainment complex owned by Grady, former marine with a hot body.

While both of the are feeling attraction, Sandra can't stay any place long and this one has been way to long. So when some of her alarms go off one night while she is at works, fireworks between Grady and Sandra fly as he won't leave her side, becoming embroiled in a situation he really doesn't want involvement in.

Now Grady is a good guy. A past situation leaves him no room in his life for bullies and he goes the extra mile to make the gaming center a safe haven for the community. Former marine, he's just really a nice guy. Seriously. But make no mistake he isn't one to stand down when people are threatened, but he also can't stand to be put in a bad situation or even the people in his community in that situation. He isn't a pansy, but he does like an ordinary life.

Sandra on the other hand is sorta damaged from what happened on the last mission. She struggles to pick up a gun as she is terrified she will kill an innocent again. Even a gaming gun at the center. But she won't stop running: from her team, Grady, SBG, her team and Grady again. Sometimes you just wanted her to stop and deal with the situation. Make no mistake, she is a bad-assed heroine who does what is needed in the critical moments, but at times I wanted to scream at her to just stop for a moment and think what running away does to people.

This is kind of an insta-love situation as the two know each other for a couple of months before we jump into the story. The situation throws them instantly in bed with adrenaline and passion banging the headboard and wall hard and fast. It gets hot and hard fast and then takes a break from it all to deal with the situations coming in from all sides. There is even a little love triangle for some angsty parts of the story. While it is a romance, it does take a second place seat to the action with the team and starting up a new series.

Exchange of Fire was an adrenaline rush from beginning to end. I loved all the team members and can't wait to get to know them better. The passions was hot, the action even hotter and the story drew me in and left me wanting more.

I received an advance reader edition of this book from Penguin Group via Net Galley for the purpose of providing an honest review.

4 Stars!

I am really surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this book! To be honest, I am not sure why I grabbed it off of Net Galley. I think I was actually on vacation when I did and let's just say I am sometimes a bit impulsive when I am near a beach and leave it at that. Anyway when I returned home from my vacation, my clicky finger had lined up several new books for me to read and review which is a much better problem to have than when the same finger tried to grab a jellyfish out of the ocean (I told you I can be impulsive near beaches!).

Everything worked out because I really liked this book! It had just the right blend of mystery, likeable characters, and chemistry between the main characters to really draw me into the story. This book is the beginning of a new series and I think that the author did a fantastic job of laying the groundwork for future books. I really liked the supporting characters in this book and can't wait to read their story.

Sandra has a bad experience while working with her mercenary team. In order to step away from SBG, she becomes a shade when she fakes her own death. She starts a new life working at an amusement center that is owned by Casper Grady, a former marine. Soon, others become aware that Sandra may still be among the living and she tries to leave but Grady is determined to help her.

The pair are soon joined by Sandra's former team and the knowledge of her past may be too much for Grady. Sandra, Grady, and the rest of her team must eventually work together to keep the little town in the mountains safe. The supporting characters were phenomenal. Cappy, Talon, Romeo, and Magician stole the show during parts of the book.

The chemistry between Sandra and Grady was wonderful. My main problem is that they spent a large chunk of the book apart from each other. I really did not like the Sandra we saw while they were apart very much....she just sat there and cried constantly it seemed. I liked the Grady we saw with Sandra better than the one lying on his couch thinking about her. The fact that Grady was so determined to help Sandra but once he heard her story he storms off seemed a bit contradictory.

I felt that this book was well written despite a few issues and I look forward to reading future works in this series. This is the first book by P. A. DePaul that I have had a chance to read but I don't think it will be my last. I would recommend this book to fans of romantic suspense.

Well, Exchange of Fire was an entertaining jump into a new world of undercover operatives, danger, second chances and romance. I do love that combo! The quick of it is that Sanda fled her life as a sniper. Faking her death and hiding out and becoming a new person. But her previous life has caught up with her and is giving her hell. Threatening her life, her former teammates and the people she cares deeply for in her new life leaving her faced with the decision of who to trust and how to keep everyone safe.

I enjoyed all of the characters. Sandra, Grady and all of her former teammates. They're an interesting group for sure. And dealing with so much...namely...Sandra being alive and well when they thought she'd been killed months earlier in a mission. Hello, surprise! lol

Grady was such a good guy. He runs a family friendly gaming center and has made it his life mission--after losing a friend as a child--to protect those in need from bullies. He's wholesome and sexy and can rock some fierce alpha male protectiveness. Yum! And Sandra. This is one badass heroine. She may be a bit damaged and suffering from PTSD after a mission gone horribly bad but the woman is incredibly strong, has major skills and while she sometimes made me want to shake her--the chickie kept running--I enjoyed getting to know her.

The romance was somewhat light since the two had known each other and were pretty much already in love with each other when things kicked off though they'd never acted or expressed their feelings. Most of the book is action packed as they fight against operatives sent out to eliminate Sandra and her team so the romance took a secondary role which was fine. There's still some good lovin' happening, some sweet moments between them and some very difficult ones as they deal with the past and the fact that she'd hidden so much from him.

I enjoyed Exchange of Fire, found it entertaining and wanted to see what would happen to them all but I did think it has a little something missing. A spark or something that just kept me more on the periphery of the story instead of fully invested and feeling like I was part of everything. Not a bad thing exactly just a little something that I noticed and that kept me from getting totally swept into things. It was still a fun though and did leave me curious to see what will happen next with this group of men and woman and how each of their stories will unfold so not a bad start to the series.

Exchange of Fire is the first in a new series by P.A. DePaul. I’ve read many military romance/suspense stories, and this one is now on my top 10 favorite list! The author went beyond my expectations and wrote an extraordinary story.

Wraith/Sandra is a Black Ops agent who is declared dead and secretly moves on to a new phase of her life. After her last mission went terribly wrong, she fakes her own death in order to retire from the SweetBriar Group.

While adjusting to civilian life and dealing with the guilt of her past, she starts working for former Marine Casper Grady. They dance around their attraction for each other for months when Sandra’s past suddenly catches up with her.

When Sandra reunites with her former team in order to bring down a drug cartel and dirty CEO, Grady learns the truth about her secrets. Grady is torn between protecting his community and business and the woman he loves.

The plot of this book starts fast and never slows down. I could not put this book down! Ms. DePaul did a wonderful job of keeping up the suspense while developing Sandra’s and Grady’s romantic relationship. The natural progression of their relationship added believability to this story.

P.A. DePaul is one of those authors who you know you will love everything else she writes. She gave us just enough of a glimpse of the secondary characters to whet my curiosity. Now I’m anxious to read each of their stories.

Exchange of Fire was an unexpected thrill of a book. The first 2 chapters made me an emotional wreck It was so well written I was just as devastated as the characters. Suspense and drama abound and Grady didn't make it easy on Sandra. These two fight hard one pulling away while the other fights to get closer. They are exactly what each of them needs, but they don't know it.

The story and characters are all amazing, and it makes you want to know more about each one. The Camaraderie between Sandra and her team is detailed to perfection. When things go south the whole team feels it and you feel it in turn. Some of the dialogue was a bit confusing as in one paragraph 2 voices are speaking without giving context to who started and who stopped. It is easily figured out usually but it did stop me a couple of times.

This was an absolutely amazing suspenseful ride, emotional and so hot when Sandra can't hold Grady at bay. One of the most beautiful romantic suspense books I've read in a long time. Exciting heart pounding action and it kept coming. The romance was hard won. I can not wait for book 2!!

REVIEW:
I enjoyed this set-up to a new series and how the author introduced us to the players. The members of SBG are a fun mixture of personalities and I like that the author wrote about their transformation as part of this story. As for the romance, I wish that it was a little hotter and that I could have connected with Sandra more but the story was intriguing enough to make up for that. A few times I did have to re-read a paragraph to double check who said what but it was not enough to interrupt the overall flow of the story. I enjoyed this story and cannot wait for the next installment to see how things evolve.

I was gifted a copy of this book for review.
Wonderful storyline. With characters that have flaws but have the perseverance to overcome them. Wrath made a fatal mistake and I will admit took the quick way out. What I love about this story is that her team rallies behind her. She may have ran but when the chips are down she sees the error of her ways.Grady being a former Marine does not believe in running and once he learns of Sandras past he makes some rash judgments. But is she the person he is falling for? This is such a fast past intriguing story that it was hard to put down.I have discovered a new author to put on my auto buy list.

This reminds me of Cristin Harber's Garrison Creed and Sweet Girl. Only Wraith put herself in Witness Protection, so to speak. SBG is like GSI, as in not good. SweetBriar is like Titan and Maya Banks' KGI. If they were run by a crazy person.

I'm happy to say this was just as exciting. You never knew what was going to happen next.

I felt sorry for Ted. Too bad you can't pick your family.

Sucks to be you, Talon.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this first book in a thriller series. I loved all the action and the romance between Casper and Sandra. I loved Sandra and her team that works for the SBG. I personally can do without the sexual parts of the story but some will enjoy that. I loved that Sandra was trying to work through whether she wanted to stay on her team or not. I received a copy of the book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

P.A DePaul has given me one heck of ride with this book and it is gratefully received, because Exchange of Fire is a great read.
It will bounce your attention all over the place with the pace and the events that unfurl as you career through the pages.
Delta Squad sniper Wraith is part of the team that are tasked with putting an end to a sex trafficking ring but with each of them concentrating on their part in the operation, Wraith comes unstuck when her bullet goes astray and she is responsible for the death of one of the victims.
Wraith is steeped in guilt and as such she feels the right thing to do is to walk away, but to do so, she has to ensure that she is gone for good – and what is more permanent that death? So faking her own demise she leave her life behind and emerges as a new person and so Sandra Walsh is born!
The centre where Sandra goes to work is owned and run by former marine Casper Grady. Grady is an intuitive soul because he has an inkling that Sandra has a past that she is running from, but what he doesn’t realise is that Sandra has no intension of standing still and no matter much she is attracted to Grady she isn’t willing to even try to get to know him because she won’t be sticking around for long.
But fate pushes them both into a situation that they could have never imagined because when Sandra’s apartment is broken in to, she metaphorically puts her running shoes on and takes off – but this time she isn’t on her own – Grady is along for the ride.
The story and its evolution is handled with absolute aplomb, it is a manual in how to deal with grief and guilt – how to handle life when it deals you a bum hand and learning that sometimes bad things happen to good people – everyone makes mistakes it is our ability to learn from our mistakes that makes us better human beings – Sandra/Wraith has to learn to forgive herself for what happened.
But when the world appears to be against you, choosing which way to jump isn’t an easy decision to make. I loved the intrigue that surrounded the whole situation, the fact that it is all so cloak and dagger. I never really knew who they should trust or where exactly the story was going to deposit me next but I have to say that the ride was worth the palpitations that shot through me.
The intensity of their situation brought out the passion in the pair of them and but as sizzling as it was, I had a feeling that it wasn’t going to be enough.
But when her past not only catches up with her but is put squarely before them, it has to be addressed completely because Sandra finds herself back in the arms of Delta Squad.
Explaining the whole situation to Grady is not easy because he has a lot to not only hear but to absorb. Can he accept Wraith or is Sandra the woman he needs – one in the same perhaps but it rocks him to the core.
I like Sandra and why I understood why she did what she did, I can’t say that I fully agreed with her decisions. But I completely fell for Grady, with his back story fully laid out for me my heart broke for the decision he made to walk away.
It isn’t often that you get to say that a HEA would have been the wrong decision but with this book, that is most definitely the case.
The whole scenario is just so complex, the team that Wraith is with is so full-on, that finding time and being able to hold down a proper relationship was never going to be run of the mill. It
I am looking forward to reading more of the remainder of the Delta Squad I especially liked Talon – he has a story to tell that know already that I not only want but need to hear.

This book starts out with a bang and keeps on throughout the book why it keeps you on the edge holding your breath waiting for the next shoe to drop. This book has everything you love about romantic suspense with wonderful scenes that will keep your heart pumping. From the start of the book you just want to cry for the main character as her and her team try to take out a human trafficking ring in Mexico. She takes her shot but as the last second a young girl steps in front of the trafficker as she pulls the trigger and kills the young girl. She can’t live with her self. Wraith is the sniper part of the Delta Team, a private black-ops unit the only way out is through death. She fakes her death and is now on the run.

Changing her name to Sandra she moves on to work in a family entertainment center owned by Casper Grady, a former Marine. It is time to move on before they find her but she is attached to Grady and doesn’t want to leave him. As her home is broken into she runs but Grady won’t let her. He follows and gets into more then he bargains for.

This is a compelling story of trust, love and hate of learning to let go to forgive yourself and starting over. Together they have to take down more than one bad guy who wants them dead. It seems the whole world is out to get her and take her out. The author tells a tale that will keep you holding your breath throughout the whole book. I was hooked from the first page all the way through. You do not have a clue whom to trust, which way to run and what will be waiting at the end. The story is full of passion that will have you breathing a little heavier. The push and pull between Sandra and Grady is outstanding you can feel it as if you were right there with you. The author gives you wonderful humor you find yourself chuckling even when you really should not.

I felt Sandra’s pain at the lost of her team, she felt she could not protect them and had to leave them behind. You feel so much for her throughout the whole story and at times you almost feel like crying yourself. She has so much guilt from killing that little girl. She knows she can never pick up another gun not trusting herself to take the action needed. She has to overcome so much and then to lose Grady your heart just breaks.

Grady is a wonderful character when you learn of his past and why he does what he does you come to love him. I understood why he felt he must walk away from Sandra, I didn’t like it but I understood. That first sex scene was so hot it about burnt my kindle up. It was very powerful and you will find you mouth in an O before it is down with a few chuckles afterwards.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the book, the delta team was outstanding you feel their pain at having lost one of their own. You feel Sandra’s pain of having to leave them and later trying to leave Grady. You feel the love between them all and the heartbreak when that love can’t be. The author does a wonderful job at holding your attention and giving you a page turn that you do not want to put down. There were so many wonderful characters beside the main ones that stand out is Talon he broke my heart with his heartache. I sure hope he gets a story of his own and finds happiness.

I highly recommend this fast pace action romantic thriller you are going to love it. I so want to read the next one in this series it looks to be an outstanding read as well.
