Cat Stark is a romance novelist who dabbles in many subgenres. She was raised in California but came to Illinois for college. She earned a B.A. in English from Rockford University in 1999. This is her sixth self-published novel. She also has has short stories in Contagion: War Stories and the RAW Revolution Anthology.

This is a fast and fun read, opening on the mysterious sheriff Cassie Sanders in the town of Hell's Junction. Cassie is literally town between humanity and Hell, while taking on a brand new deputy who has his own encounters with the supernatural. Of course, between her own job and a demon wrangler pining for her, Cassie has plenty on her plate.

The book really succeeds in throwing readers in an awesome modern Western complete with half-demons and plenty of dark lore to dive into. Cassie and Jack are extremely fun and interesting characters, and their relationship is one of the book's main driving forces. There a few times where the POV shifts away from Cassie - particularly late in the story - but's nothing more than a speed bump with this fast and fun ride. I'd definitely recommend it!

This was an ARC. Lots of hot passion between characters. Good scene building. Kept a good pace.
