2.5 stars 🌟 not even gonna lie this was cute at times but otherwise it was kind of all over the place (and not in a good way 😞) ragnarsadie had like a bit of chemistry that was tangible in the beginning but all of a sudden they were falling for each other and things weren’t adding up 😪

i liked how both ragnar and sadie made each other feel safe and understood but i was honestly pretty lost as to how they fell in love so quickly 🇮🇸🏒🐾 sadie’s random neurodivergent diagnosis (??) and just how unresolved things felt at the end bugged me.

i will say i thought it was super cute how ragnar felt so comfortable with sadie that his stutter kind of faded when they talked 🤗 it was pretty sweet

Listen I am the worst ARC reader ever sometimes because I was sent this book earlier in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions and I dropped the ball because life life’s sometimes so then I grabbed it on KU so Stella could at least have the page reads while I read it <3

Anyway
She did it again
This book was good
I loved seeing how Ragnar changed and how Sadie changed, too. There were so many times I related to Sadie’s struggles, as someone who is neurodivergent and didn’t get diagnosed until later in life… everything she struggled with in the book was like hitting the nail on the head… or whatever the saying is. I also felt both of their struggles with loving THEMSELVES for who they are and not who other people want them to be.

As someone who is recovering from an abusive relationship I found myself in Sadie. As someone who is afraid to be disposable and easily thrown away I found myself in Rags. This book was one of those where it wasn’t a reality break. I didn’t read it and think “I’m escaping what’s going on in this messed up world.” No, I read it and was like I feel seen. I feel heard. And I feel understood. I don’t feel as alone. Even if it was fictional characters. (Listen… authors have to write from experience sometimes, so I’m not saying that Stella is in all these characters… but after knowing her since the trope I could probably pinpoint which parts of her directly are in her books!)

The only thing I had a “qualm” with was I would have LOVEDDDDDD to see more of Rags and Sadie be themselves. Where they learn to love themselves and we see Sadie unmasking herself more. BUTTTTTT that doesn’t mean it was bad. I’m just greedy lmao

This was a great book and I love reading Stella’s writing and I cannot wait for the next book of hers and if she is to ever come back to the Arctic… I know someone who would love to see the rookie on pages ;)

I got this book as an ARC from the author and I loved how adorable it was. It was sweet and emotional at the same time. Sadie is struggling in life with finding her purpose and identity. She has a nasty ex and parents who are struggling to connect with her. Ragnar is our classic goalie loner who struggles with a stutter and his overwhelming crush of Sadie. The man is obsessed. If Sadie told him to take off his clothes and jump in an ice bath he would and frankly he does because she is also an assistant trainer on the team and that’s her job. It’s also a reason for why they can’t be together. I did find it refreshing that this wasn’t the only plot device as we had the main characters’ personal growth to work through and I enjoyed it. I loved seeing the representation that adults still struggle mentally and that having it “all together” is sometimes a facade or mask. The story touched on parental death, adoption, emotional abuse by a partner and being neurodivergent as well as having a speech impediment. I felt that these topics were handled with care. The story is sweet and the characters healing towards each other and even a bit for me. I will be reading the other books in this series to get all the context but this story can be read as a standalone.

It's the fourth book in The Artic series
How come I overlooked Ragnar ? Ok he is shy and didn't really shine in the previous books but here, with his own story ? He is the best character !!!!!
Not that I didn't like Sadie, because I did but Ragnar is in my heart.
Their story is sweet, they are adorable together but, like always with this author, their lives, their pasts, their personalities are complex, with lots of layers.
A very good read.

I just finished reading an ARC of "Left Hand Larceny" by Stella Stevenson, Book 4 in "The Arctic" series, and my heart is completely captivated (in the best way possible!). If you've ever thought you needed the perfect sports romance with a blend of serious themes and unbelievably spicy scenes, then this book is everything you've dreamed of and more!
I knew Stella Stevenson could write, but "Left Hand Larceny" has seriously raised the bar! We finally get to dive into the story of Ragnar and Sadie, and trust me, it's a journey you absolutely don't want to miss.
Let's talk about the tropes that make this book an absolute standout:
🏒 Bearded Hockey Goalie: Ragnar is everything you'd expect from a hockey player, but with such a delightful surprise that I just fell head over heels.
🏒 He's Super Shy: Oh, the contrast between his on-ice persona and his true, shy self is just charming! His inner world, his struggles – it's all so endearing and feels incredibly real.
🏒 Stutter & Adoption Rep: These elements add such incredible depth to the story! They make the characters multifaceted and allow Stella to touch on important, sensitive topics without making the plot feel heavy.
🏒 Friends to Lovers: This trope is executed flawlessly! Their dynamic as friends, the gradual build-up of tension, and their realization of deeper feelings – it was all so believable and heartwarming to witness. Their chemistry practically sparks off the page.
🏒 He Has a Filthy Mouth: Oh yes! If you like your heroes unashamed of their desires and capable of using words to set the pages on fire, then Ragnar is definitely your guy.
🏒 Open Door: And it truly is! The romantic scenes here are as steamy as they come, but they always feel meaningful within the context of Ragnar and Sadie's developing relationship. They're intimate, passionate, and incredibly well-written.
Stella Stevenson has once again proven she's a master of crafting "brain candy" – books that hook you from the first page and don't let go until the very end. Her style is light, humorous, yet she expertly weaves in emotional depth and realistic struggles.
If you're looking for a book that will make you feel everything – from tenderness to passion, from laughter to empathy – and leave you with a completely satisfied book hangover, then you simply must read "Left Hand Larceny"! It's the perfect blend of sports, romance, humor, and emotional depth.
Don't miss the release on June 15, 2025! This book is going to be your next favorite read, I guarantee it!

How could you not fall in love with Ragnar and Sadie? This is a sweet romance with some well timed and well written spicy scenes in the mix. I love that Stella's books are sweet and happy but also real. They tackle real life issues and topics while providing a sweet HEA. I love how consciously Stella writes. I feel like with every book she guides us through tough things, without sugar coating. This book (and the others in the series) provides an escape world where we can feel good when things get tough.

First off, I loved the adoption representation in this book. Very rarely do we get an adult perspective from someone who has been adopted, and I loved Sadie's honesty. I also loved the stutter representation through Ragnar. This is another thing that I don't think we see enough in fiction. I have always loved the depth of Stella's characters, and I think these two are my new favorite.

Sadie is strong and kind hearted. I was hooked from the early scene with the crossword puzzle. Even though she is strong, she still has her doubts, and she's extremely relatable. She's independent but craves someone who can take the lead for her when she needs them to. Enter Ragnar - I fell in love with him instantly too. He's a sweet lovable cinnamon roll who despite his quiet demeanor, is more than happy to take the lead with Sadie in the bedroom. I adored his relationship with his sister Katrin despite being so far away. Seeing him care for her (and of course Howl) showed us who he is at his core.

I love how Stella listed the spicy scenes in the front - great for a quick spicy read or maybe to skip over if you're not feeling spice in the moment. She leaves it up to the reader. That being said, the spice was (as always) amazing. Her scenes are always intense, beautiful, meaningful, and - well, hot.

I know I will be re-visiting this story multiple times, and I am, as always, so excited for what comes next.

My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️

In Short: Cute and adorable. Also she does the cutest illustrations, and the book has illustrations in it!!!

General Thoughts: I'm pretty sure I have read every book of Stella's and enjoyed all of them. I love the care and heart Stella puts into her stories. It's clear she feels deeply and is very intentional about the stories she shares. Her books are always full of various representations, and she showcases such a wide range of experiences. It's one of the things I like most about her books. Her books always have a clear voice and personality. This book was cute, fun, and easy to read. I liked both the characters and the romance between them. I think this is the first book I've read with the MMC (or any main character) having a stutter, and I thought she did that well. I also know adoption rep is close to her heart, and I thought she did a great job portraying that.

An enjoyable, cute read. My one note is I wanted a bit more tension or stakes in this one. But that's my personal opinion only. I received a review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thanks Stella.

“You don’t have to hold me like I’ll break.” “I’m not afraid you’ll break… I’m afraid I might.”

I okay this story is really healing. It’s all about having to mask and be someone you’re not just to make the people around you happy.

Until Ragnar comes along and the way he loves Sadie for who she truly is, is so beautiful.

The way Ragnar loved her was beautiful, I loved how he openly admitted to her he had a crush but let her be the one to make the first move. He protected her and was her rock and never expected anything from her, only for her to be her. Honestly this man may stutter and be shy, but once he gets to the bedroom his mouth became soooo 🌶️🌶️ it was like a switch had been flipped.

My heart continuously breaking for Sadie, she’s exhausted trying to be someone she’s not. She’s trying so hard to be perfect when all she wants is to be with Ragnar and be herself. Watching her come to the realisation that she can be her, that she can be with Ragnar, that people won’t leave her behind, was beautiful. Sadie was the perfect depicter of late diagnosed ADHD, I don’t think I’ve read a character before that translated it so well on page before.

I knew before I start this story I was going to be in love with Sadie and Ragnar. But they blew me away this story is truly beautiful, their love is just so perfect. The way they protect each other is so perfect.

Just beautiful.

Thank you Stella Stevenson for an ARC copy of this book!

This was such a cute read ❤️ Ragnar is such a sweet, caring, and supportive man 😍😍 He struggles with social interactions and doesn’t realize that everyone loves having him around! No matter if he talks or not ❤️ Sadie is running on fumes trying to meet the expectations of her parents and doesn’t know how to navigate around her own feelings or wants and needs. That is, until Ragnar becomes one of the things she wants in her life and she decides she’s been following someone else’s life plan for too long ❤️

I loved seeing how Ragnar came out of his little Ragnar & Howl bubble! Howl is such a cute doggo (a menace like most are but cute nonetheless 🐾 The supporting characters were amazing (I believe these are interconnected standalone and some have their own books as well) Ragnar went through some emotional development, as did Sadie on a bit larger scale (she had more going on with her family and school). Their crossword puzzle time was adorable and I kind of want to get into doing those now 😂

There is open door spice, near the end of the book mostly (last 30% ish) hot scenes!

This was a cute & cozy read for me, relatively low angst. Honorable mentions: Fernie Sanders, Pebbles, and Howl 🥰

❤️❤️❤️❤️

I loved this book so much. Ragnar and Sadie made such a cute couple. I loved how awkward and shy he was and how she didn't mind it. I loved how he wanted her help in making him better with social situations. I loved how they were both awkward together, it was sweet.
I loved what Ragnar said about his way with women, it was funny.
“𝗦-𝗦𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗵-𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲 𝗹-𝗹-𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗺-𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗱-𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗵-𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻." “𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗻-𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗴-𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗱. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵-𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄-𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗱-𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗔-𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹.”
I loved what Ragnar said about Sadie. I loved that he saw the real her.
“𝗜-𝗶𝗳 𝗶𝘁 𝗵-𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿-𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲? 𝗜 𝗹-𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿. 𝗔 𝗹𝗼𝘁.”
I loved when Ragnar came to Sadie's rescue with her ex.

I LOVED what she did to her ex, when she stood up to him. He deserved it. I also loved that she finally told her parents the truth about how she felt.

Stella Stevenson’s books are filled with the quiet kind of love. It’s the small acts of kindness, understanding, and casual intimacy that make her books so beautifully warm and addictive. I am happy to say that Left Hand Larceny is very much the same.

Ragnar was a favorite side character throughout the rest of the series and I was very excited to see him fall in love. He was a most dreamy MMC, with his emotional intelligence, encouragement, and patience. Sadie’s character was therapeutic and interesting to read. She was a deeply layered character with so much heart. I loved that this book showed both of the main characters growing together, loving each other throughout the journey. Their focus on communication, self discovery, and pushing against the expectations others placed upon them continued to draw me in.

I loved the inclusion of Katrin and Howl, the way that their presence showed how Ragnar loves with his whole heart. I also thought the conversations that Sadie had to continue to have with her parents were very real and raw.

I will once again say, Stella Stevenson blew me away with the illustrations throughout the novel. Stella Stevenson's absolute love for her work and her characters will always shine through.

Left Hand Larceny by Stella Stevenson

The Arctic Book 4

I always melt for goalies but add in the Nordic element and bam, instant puddle. Ragnar is just the cutest freaking gentleman I think I have ever come across, and that is the hill I will die on!

Book 4 follows quiet and soft spoken Goalie Ragnar Ólaffson in need of some help rebuilding his career, in enters Sadie Jones ready to say yes to help him, but can they deny their ever growing chemistry.

This may have been the slowest but most perfect slow burn of the month but the build up was perfectly executed, I got goosebumps every time they touched! And when they finally kissed I was kicking my legs, Rags and Sadie has so much chemistry and they are simply meant to be.

As always with interconnected series this bought the return of everyone's favourite couples and even Spags I cannot wait for him to be bought to his knees! This series brings me so much joy and excitement, pure comfort reads!

I would highly recommend this entire series I cannot wait for more from The Arctic! For fans for Hockey Romance, He Falls first, Hockey Goalie X Team Trainer, Undiagnosed FMC, Crossword puzzles and delicious spicy goodness.

- Hockey romance
- Workplace romance
- He falls first
- Friends to lovers

I don’t think I’ve ever related more to a FMC than I did with Sadie. I am also a people pleaser who frequently adjusts my actions to what I think others expect. I felt so seen…..

And then we have the Icelandic goalie Ragnor who does see Sadie, but his near debilitating shyness and speech impediment keeps him from pursuing a relationship with her. But when his future is at risk due to lost sponsorships, he turns to Sadie for help - and offers her some help in return.

The hockey team has a very strict non-fraternization rule, which Sadie is determined to follow, no matter how drawn she is to the big softie! We all know that won’t last long, and I was looking forward to Sadie’s effit moment! Spoiler alert: it was worth the wait!

This series is one that is different from other hockey romances. The characters are flawed, but relatable. Pick it up; you won’t be disappointed!

Stella does it again. This might be my fave in the series. Ragnar is adorable but also hot. Like he needs to be played by Pedro pascal. Immediately. If that doesn’t convince you this book is worth it then I can’t help you!

• introverted hockey goalie with a stutter
(dude. He’s from Iceland and speaks two languages.)
• the assistant team trainer
(She is an adoptee AND is neurodivergent)
• I don’t know how to explain it next. She teaches him things? But he takes control in the bedroom? And he’s obsessed with her? And there’s a rotten ex, his adorable baby sister, Howl, and who could ever forget Spags!

Just read it. Kthanks

Wow. I loved Ragnar and Sadie’s story. They have such a unique bond right from the start and it’s beautiful. Ragnar is such a soft gentle giant. Sadie is a sweetheart. I loved her pizzazz and just her way of going about things. And I absolutely adored the way her adored her. They just have a sense of humour together that works amazing. I loved the writing style. Stella Stevenson always does a fantastic job when it comes to a good hockey romance.

I have to absolutely recommend this!

2.5 ⭐️

I hate to say it, but this was my least favorite book in the series. I was really looking forward to it—especially with a shy mmc, which I usually love—but it just didn’t resonate the way I hoped. There were plenty of sweet moments, and I appreciated how Ragnar and Sadie made each other feel safe and truly seen. That part was lovely. Unfortunately, the plot didn’t hold my attention, and I found myself drifting. Overall, it’s a charming and heartwarming read, even if it didn’t fully click for me. Still, I’m excited to see where the series goes next!

What an absolute honor it is to be on Stella's ARC team. I eagerly look forward to every new book.

This book gave me all the feels. Imagine being seen, truly seen, by someone. Accepted for exactly who you are. No expectations, no exceptions. When I say I was swooning, I am not exaggerating. Ragnar has my heart. I am not even a fan of sports romance novels, but I am wholly addicted to the Arctic.

Stella is an auto read for me, hands down. That being said… I think I’ve fallen head over heels for Rags AND Sadie. This book is so full of emotional maturity, growth, and the slow hesitation of great love. I resonated with the perspective in this book; I learned things about people close to me that I’d likely never see otherwise. The consideration and care that goes into the characters and their journey always blows me away, but this book really, truly was written with the utmost care.

This was super cute and I loved the slow burn. My only critique is when he’s comforting her after the gala his stutter is completely gone (while hes speaking English) and there’s no mention of it. I kept waiting for it to be addressed and it never was - like he didn’t stutter because he was so focused on her that he was calm and collected. Then on the next page or so the stutter is back full send.

These two! I have been waiting for Rag's book and I was not disappointed.

I love how Stella writes characters with depth, that are relatable and personable. Sadie and Ragnar are no exception, they are both beautifully written with character development that is easy to follow, easy to support and you have yourself cheering for their successes.

The Arctic are shaping up to be my favourite hockey team!

Yes! This series needs more hype! I absolutely loved the connection between the two. Ragnar was adorable yet manly. Sadie was intelligent yet down to earth. Nothing is better than when you can enjoy both the main characters. Bonus points for him being a goalie.

This goalie X assistant trainer, he falls first, hockey romance is sweet and spicy, and a bit cute.

Sadie is struggling with finding her purpose. Her ex is horrible, and she and her parents can’t really connect.

Ragnar needs help with his career, and he struggles with a stutter. His crush on Sadie doesn’t help.

Together they find support and help one another with their own struggles. It’s a slow burn and a sweet read.

I did struggle to connect with the characters at first but as the story progressed so did my connection to the characters. Thank you @stellastevensonwrites for the e-ARC of this story. I’ve enjoyed this series so much and this book has been great addition to it.

This was such a fun, heartwarming read; though not every moment in this book was happy, I loved the support and love and grace these characters gave to one another as navigated the bad times together.

THOUGHTS 💭
🏒 Ragnar is just the sweetest little cinnamon roll puppy dog MMC to ever be written; I just want to squish and love on him. He has a stutter and an accent and is the quiet, emotionally-intelligent type and I simply adored him.
🏒 Sadie is chatty and friendly and relatable. Being an adoptee is a big part of her character arc and her personality in general; I appreciated reading about that lived experience.
🏒 Stella is such a talented creator; she not only writes amazing books, but also does her own covers and character art. I’m honestly in awe of her.
🏒 The characters inner-dialogues were relatable and made you love them even more.
🏒 The found family in this hockey world is just so good. The past Arctic MCs popped up in Ragnar and Sadie’s story often and I enjoyed seeing them again.

Thanks so much to Stella Stevenson for the ARC of this book!
