"Salvation Pack, Book 2"

Anny Conrad is a single thirty-year-old librarian a cliche complete with two cats. Dragged out to a local bar, she s rethinking her life plan over a few drinks when a man walks up and asks her to dance. And what a man. Tall, rugged and more than a little untamed. Before she knows it, she s in his arms and throwing caution to the wind.

With a pack war in full, deadly swing, the last thing Armand LaForge needs right now is a woman in his life, much less a human. But one thing is certain, he s met his mate, the one woman in the world for him.

The kindest thing to do is give her all the hot sex she wants and then leave her alone. But when the morning comes, fate isn t done screwing with them. Anny is confronted with the fact that the myths in her library books are real and now she s one of them.

A night out at a club can lead to a loss of inhibitions and hot sex with a werewolf. Your life will never be the same. You ve been warned. "

She was every hope, every dream he'd ever had. Anny was a fucking miracle and she was his.

4.5 stars!

I was pleasantly surprised by this novel and the love story between Anny and Armand! Their romantic journey was a bit atypical of other shifter novels I've read, but I found myself fully invested as Anny learns to trust herself and others, while Armand finds something worth living for. The first meeting between Anny and Armand was so romantic, but neither are expecting anything beyond that one exquisite night.

However when Anny becomes a target for Armand's former pack, Armand must choose between his long-sought vengeance and protecting his mate. I loved Anny's hidden strength and determination in the face of the new world she's suddenly thrust into, while Armand tries to balance protecting his mate and giving her the freedom she craves. I'll be on the lookout for the other books in the series to go on sale in order to continue reading!

Tropes: fated mates, one-night stand, reluctant mates, shifter/human pairing, knotting, heroine-in-danger, alpha hero, shy heroine, found family, smutastic

On the day of Anny Conrad's thirtieth birthday, she realizes that her chances of a husband and family are fleeting. Anny is turning into a spinster, she is the epitome of the librarian with cats and closely becoming a spinster. When her friend takes her out to celebrate her birthday, it has an ending she never expected a dance with a stranger that leaves her reeling.

Armand LaForge knows he is wound tight, he feels partially to blame after his alpha's mate was attacked. He is driven to protect his small pack and even though they sense he is in turmoil, he decides to take some time just for himself. He never expects to meet Anny, he realizes she is his mate but as a human he can never have her. His wolf feels otherwise though and he promises himself one night and it is electrifying, but at no time does he realize he has put Anny in danger.

I don't want to reveal too much but this was a phenomenal read. Unexpected and it left me eager to read more in this series. Have been a huge fan of N.J. Walters for awhile and she never disappoints. Armand is the beast and Anny happens to be the unexpected beauty, he is so protective of her even when he senses she is reluctant to hand over her trust. Wonderful story.

I started this series in the middle, I read wolf on the run ,first which is book 3, I loved it. then I read Wolf at the door which is book 1 , I liked it, so naturally I went to book 2, I didn't hate it, but I didn't really like it either. It was almost the exact same book as book 1 and the give up your life aspect of the series is something I am not very fond of, you know "now your a werewolf, you have to give up your friends ,your job and your house.. yeah not my favorite.

Letting a man you just met for the first time at a bar earlier than evening into your house when he appears unexpectedly at your door in the middle of the night, naked, just doesn't make me want to find out what happens next ... although I did tough it out to see if the story improved. Um ... it didn't.

I liked this book as much as the first. The h is shy, lonely as is the H. Once again danger lurks for members of this pack, and the h is put at risk. I would have liked to see the h resist the H a little more, she went along with him a bit too quickly. Still she showed that she was a fighter a number of times. I respected the H in this book, but thought the h was stronger than him.

Captivating from first page to last. Anny - a single Librarian goes out to celebrate her Birthday and meets Armand. Armand is a werewolf - who with his family (a group of other werewolves including his cousins and friends) - have started their own Pack The Salvation Pack. The book is hot!!! and full of action. N.J. Walters has become a favorite for me very fast. well written with a great story line.

I really like this Salvation series, I think it may be my favorite by N.J. Walters of whom I was already a fan. It has been a while since I've read one by her but it seems like the Salvation books are a bit longer which adds to the character development and plot so much.

The Salvation pack is a small band of wolves who broke from their violent pack in Louisiana let by Jacque and Louis' father. Now settled in North Carolina with their cousin Armand and friends Gator and Cole and newly human-turned-wolf mate of Jacque, Gwen. They continue to be at risk from their old pack and have survived two attacks knowing it isn't over until the old alpha is dead.

Picking up shortly where Wolf at the Door ended, Armand is still hoping for revenge on his father, brother to Jacque and Louis' father, who gave his own daughter to a man who abused and killed her. Out at a club one night he meets Anny, a shy school librarian celebrating her birthday with her friend Sue. They are instantly attracted (and he knows she is his mate) to one another and share a couple of dances and one hot kiss before Armand forces himself to leave, but he cant resist and shows up at her house where they spend the night together.

Armand plans to stay to keep her safe from the other pack though he can't forget her. Anny survives a wolf attack and is transformed (a rare occurrence supposedly but Gwen was in the first book too, but I'll let it pass since I like this story so much), she eventually seeks out Armand to find out what has happened to her.

Anny had a (small) tstl moment but can be excused because of the trauma she suffered and she is very likable. Armand is downright perfect, loved how sweet and tender he was with her.

I like how the author includes the other characters in the story and the more I get to know them the more I look forward to their stories. Coles is next but Louis & Gator's are not written yet. (Dare I hope one of them will wind up with Anny's friend Sue?).

Definitely recommended.

So book 2 in the series Salvation Pack, Wolf in Her Bed, was an ok read for me like the first one.

This time around was about Armand. He was as nice and sweet as in the first book but a little dumb when it came to his mate.
He met Anny in a bar, danced with her, followed her home, spent the night with her and left her the next day.
All his good intentions were shot when his own father took it upon himself to kill Anny. Well, he didn't succeed and Anny became a werewolf.
From this point forward the story between Armand and Anny picks up. He behaves like all the werewolves lovingly towards his mate but Anny, because "she is/was human" not so much.

So, Anny's atitude didn't go well for me because I am so over the whole "being human she cannot feel/know" that they are mates. It's most of the time one sided and leads to repetitive actions and thinking (should not be there, should go away....but it feels right).
The intimate scenes were so long that I started skipping to be able to go to the main parts. It was like I am reading the first book's parts. Even Anny's actions and thoughts were repetitive going through the motions of being there with Armand or not even though she jumped to "i love you" quite fast.

The secondary characters Cole, Gator were sweet and nice and had a great relationship. Louis continues to lack any traits and that is sad.
I don't like when the book doesn't feel unique and the characters follow the same steps/ action as the others.

I might be in minority here but after so many books read I have limited patience for repetition and copy paste.
I will however pick up and read the next books in the series because I like the secondary characters and I want to read about their HEA.

Not too bad a book but the heroine has some too stupid to live moments.

Liked the hero -- some potential for his friends in future books.

Wolf in Her Bed is the second installment in the Salvation Pack series. I found this installment more enjoyable than its predecessor. It recounts the story of Armand LaForge and Anny Connor. Readers were first introduced to Armand in Wolf at the Door. I fell head over heels with him and was glad when I found that he was getting his own story.

Armand is a wounded soul (physically and emotionally) and one cannot help but empathize with him. He, along with his cousins had defected from the Louisiana pack to form their own pack. Their defection was not taken well by their Alpha (Remy LaForge). As a result, they found themselves embroiled in a war between the packs.

Armand and his father (Remy LaForge) did not have a great relationship. His father is responsible for the physical and emotional scars that he is carrying around. Despite the physical scars Armand had the females falling at his feet. He is not keen on having any form of relationship as his main focus was avenging his sister’s death. However, this would all change the night he laid eyes on Anny Connor. He knew from that moment she is his mate. He knew he should away from her for her own protection, but that was proving to be a difficult task. She affected him in a way that he never expected.

Anny is human and knows nothing of the existence of werewolves. She has experienced pain and loss and didn’t what it felt like to be loved and cherished. She has no one in her life besides her best friend Sue and her two cats. On the night of her thirtieth birthday little did she know that her life as she knew it would no longer be the same the moment she agreed to dance with a handsome stranger.

Their path to lasting love was not easy. Anny had difficulty trusting Armand’s feelings for her as she found it difficult to believe that he cared about her. It’s easy to understand why she would feel this way in light of how her parents treated her.

There was one thing I could not understand is why Armand would leave Anny unprotected knowing that his former pack members would be observing his every movement. As such anyone he came in close contact with and showed any interest in would be in danger. I simply could not wrap my head about that.

The conflict which was raised in the previous installment was partially dealt with, however, it would lead to serious repercussions for the pack which I am hoping will be addressed in the next book in the series.

Wolf in Her Bed is filled with passion, romance and there is danger at every turn. The story moved quickly and it had me engaged from beginning to end. This story shows how the struggle for power can lead to betrayal.

Steamy and suspenseful

I loved Armand and Anny’s fated mates shifter romance with a side of danger. I have a soft spot for the people who are uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in, like Anny. So I love when they get swoon worthy HEAs. The story will give you all the feels - chuckling, crying, swooning, cringing, teeth gritting, and cheering. Armand is a werewolf who left his former pack due to their violent and backward culture and is now a member of a small pack. He understands and accepts that it’s unlikely he’ll ever find a mate. Anny is a human school librarian and accepts that she’ll probably be an old maid. Armand sees Anny at a local bar and instantly recognizes her as his mate but knows acting on it will place her in danger. He allows himself one perfect steamy night with her and then plans to stay away. Until the violence of his old pack comes looking to hurt her. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline with all the good elements that you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, fated mates, loyal friends, painful pasts, drama, and laughs. I will definitely be reading more of this series. 4.5 stars

Introverted librarian Anny Conrad’s friend, Sue convinces her to come out and celebrate Anny’s birthday. A great idea in theory except Anny hadn’t gotten through one beer and no one had asked her to dance and they’d been there for hours. Things were monotonous and tense at home for Armand LaForge. His dad and uncle were angry Armand, his cousins and a couple of friends left and formed their own pack. They didn’t like the leadership or mate prospects. After a beer in town, Armand meant to leave but he asked Anny to dance.

When they touch, Armand knew. He’d met his mate, a human and the timing sucked! Unable to stop thinking of Anny, Armand chances one night with her and she’s planning their future. A month ago, their old pack attacked them trying to force a return to the fold Their splinter pack won, killing some of their more ruthless old packmates but suffered a change to their own pack. There was no doubt they’d return! Armand has to leave Anny alone to prevent her from becoming a target for his enemies. Too late!

I was convinced that book 2 was going to be about Louis, even though I wanted it to be Gator. I was wrong on my expectation and my hope; it was Armand. While this book gave us more backstory on why the 5 of them left their pack I didn't enjoy it as much as the 1st book. Gator is still my favorite character and I can't wait to get more of his backstory, and Cole's.

Annie and Armand aren't your typical hero and heroine. Annie is a quiet, easy going teacher who goes out with her bestie for her birthday. Just as she is ready to leave Armand one of the guys that lives outside of town asks her to dance. He is tall, dark , gorgeous even with the scars running down his face. Armand knows he should leave but Annie smells so good that his wolf just has to hold her. They dance and then share a hot kiss before parting ways. She goes home then is pleased when a knock at her door brings Armand. What ensues is passion that shakes them both, he knows she's his mate but must leave her alone or his former pack and his sicko dad will use her to hurt him.
Totally enjoyed this book! I'm hooked on the Salvation Pack!

Loved the narration of Arlene Seberg

On Anny is the epitome of the librarian with cats and closely becoming a spinster. On her thirtieth birthday, her friend takes her out to celebrate, it has an ending she never expected a dance with a stranger.

Armand is driven to protect his small pack and even though they sense he is in turmoil; he decides to take some time just for himself. He never expects to meet Anny, he realizes she is his mate but as a human he can never have her.

That was full of emotion and had an element of realness that really struck a chord! Anny is just, well, normal, and then these things that are outside of, well normal, happen to her. She feels deep and is hurt because of that. Armand also feels deep, but he makes choices he thinks are good, but end up being disastrous. There is a lot to unpack, unload, and deal with between these two, and they aren’t very good at it. Everything does work out, but there are many missteps along the way!

I really like the back story that's going on in this series - I might read the next one just to find out what's going on with the former pack, and I want to see what kind of mates Gator & Cole end up with 😍.
As for the actual writing - its a bit rough, but I think that has more to do with it being early in the series. I feel like the style and story will smooth out more once we get into the later books.
Anyways, this was a great buffer book for me, before I dive back into a darker story.
